SememeLM: A Sememe Knowledge Enhanced Method for Long-tail Relation Representation

Recognizing relations between two words is a fundamental task with the broad applications. Different from extracting relations from text, it is difficult to identify relations among words without their contexts. Especially for long-tail relations, it becomes more difficult due to inadequate semantic features. Existing approaches based on language models (LMs) utilize rich knowledge of LMs to enhance the semantic features of relations. However, they capture uncommon relations while overlooking less frequent but meaningful ones since knowledge of LMs seriously relies on trained data where often represents common relations. On the other hand, long-tail relations are often uncommon in training data. It is interesting but not trivial to use external knowledge to enrich LMs due to collecting corpus containing long-tail relationships is hardly feasible. In this paper, we propose a sememe knowledge enhanced method (SememeLM) to enhance the representation of long-tail relations, in which sememes can break the contextual constraints between wors. Firstly, we present a sememe relation graph and propose a graph encoding method. Moreover, since external knowledge base possibly consisting of massive irrelevant knowledge, the noise is introduced. We propose a consistency alignment module, which aligns the introduced knowledge with LMs, reduces the noise and integrates the knowledge into the language model. Finally, we conducted experiments on word analogy datasets, which evaluates the ability to distinguish relation representations subtle differences, including long-tail relations. Extensive experiments show that our approach outperforms some state-of-the-art methods.

Delay-Effective Task Offloading Technology in Internet of Vehicles: From the Perspective of the Vehicle Platooning

The task offloading technology plays a crucial vital role in the Internet of Vehicle (IoV) with the demands of delay minimum, by jointly optimizing the heterogeneous computing resources supported by the vehicles, roadside units (RSUs), and macro base stations (MBSs). In previous works, on the one hand, they ignored the wireless interference among the exchange and sharing of the task data. On the other hand, the available resources supported by the vehicles that have similar driving behaviors, which can form a vehicle platooning (VEH-PLA) and effectively integrate the resources of individual vehicle, has not been addressed. In addition, as a novel resource management paradigm, the VEH-PLA should consider the task categorization, since vehicles in VEH-PLA may have the same task offloading requests, which also has not attracted enough attention. In this paper, considering the wireless interference, mobility, VEH-PLA, and task categorization, we propose four kinds of task offloading models for the purpose of the processing delay minimum. Furthermore, by utilizing centralized training and decentralized execution (CTDE) based on multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (MADRL), we present a task offloading decision-making method to find the global optimal offloading decision, resulting in a significant enhancement in the load balancing of resources and processing delay. Finally, the simulations demonstrate that the proposed method significantly outperforms traditional task offloading methods in terms of the processing delay minimum while keeping the resource load balancing.

Movable Antenna Empowered Physical Layer Security Without Eve's CSI: Joint Optimization of Beamforming and Antenna Positions

Physical layer security (PLS) technology based on the fixed-position antenna (FPA) has {attracted widespread attention}. Due to the fixed feature of the antennas, current FPA-based PLS schemes cannot fully utilize the spatial degree of freedom, and thus a weaken secure gain in the desired/undesired direction may exist. Different from the concept of FPA, mobile antenna (MA) is a novel technology that {reconfigures} the wireless channels and enhances the corresponding capacity through the flexible movement of antennas on a minor scale. MA-empowered PLS enjoys huge potential and deserves further investigation. In this paper, we, for the first time, investigate the secrecy performance of MA-enabled PLS system where a MA-based Alice transmits the confidential information to multiple single-antenna Bobs, in the presence of the single-antenna eavesdropper (Eve) {in the absence} of perfect channel state information (CSI). For the purpose of the secrecy rate maximization of the worst Bob, we jointly design the transmit beamforming and antenna positions at the Alice, subject to the minimum moving distance of the antenna, uncertainty CSI of Eve, and maximum transmit power. Furthermore, the projected gradient ascent (PGA), alternating optimization (AO), and simulated annealing (SA) {are} adopted to solve the non-convex characteristics of the problem of the secrecy rate maximization. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method. In particular, MA-enabled PLS scheme can significantly enhance the secrecy rate compared to the conventional FPA-based ones for different settings of key system parameters.

BiSup: Bidirectional Quantization Error Suppression for Large Language Models

As the size and context length of Large Language Models (LLMs) grow, weight-activation quantization has emerged as a crucial technique for efficient deployment of LLMs. Compared to weight-only quantization, weight-activation quantization presents greater challenges due to the presence of outliers in activations. Existing methods have made significant progress by exploring mixed-precision quantization and outlier suppression. However, these methods primarily focus on optimizing the results of single matrix multiplication, neglecting the bidirectional propagation of quantization errors in LLMs. Specifically, errors accumulate vertically within the same token through layers, and diffuse horizontally across different tokens due to self-attention mechanisms. To address this issue, we introduce BiSup, a Bidirectional quantization error Suppression method. By constructing appropriate optimizable parameter spaces, BiSup utilizes a small amount of data for quantization-aware parameter-efficient fine-tuning to suppress the error vertical accumulation. Besides, BiSup employs prompt mixed-precision quantization strategy, which preserves high precision for the key-value cache of system prompts, to mitigate the error horizontal diffusion. Extensive experiments on Llama and Qwen families demonstrate that BiSup can improve performance over two state-of-the-art methods (the average WikiText2 perplexity decreases from 13.26 to 9.41 for Atom and from 14.33 to 7.85 for QuaRot under the W3A3-g128 configuration), further facilitating the practical applications of low-bit weight-activation quantization.

Edge Information Hub-Empowered 6G NTN: Latency-Oriented Resource Orchestration and Configuration

Quick response to disasters is crucial for saving lives and reducing loss. This requires low-latency uploading of situation information to the remote command center. Since terrestrial infrastructures are often damaged in disaster areas, non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) are preferable to provide network coverage, and mobile edge computing (MEC) could be integrated to improve the latency performance. Nevertheless, the communications and computing in MEC-enabled NTNs are strongly coupled, which complicates the system design. In this paper, an edge information hub (EIH) that incorporates communication, computing and storage capabilities is proposed to synergize communication and computing and enable systematic design. We first address the joint data scheduling and resource orchestration problem to minimize the latency for uploading sensing data. The problem is solved using an optimal resource orchestration algorithm. On that basis, we propose the principles for resource configuration of the EIH considering payload constraints on size, weight and energy supply. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of our proposed scheme in reducing the overall upload latency, thus enabling quick emergency rescue.

Relative Counterfactual Contrastive Learning for Mitigating Pretrained Stance Bias in Stance Detection

Stance detection classifies stance relations (namely, Favor, Against, or Neither) between comments and targets. Pretrained language models (PLMs) are widely used to mine the stance relation to improve the performance of stance detection through pretrained knowledge. However, PLMs also embed ``bad'' pretrained knowledge concerning stance into the extracted stance relation semantics, resulting in pretrained stance bias. It is not trivial to measure pretrained stance bias due to its weak quantifiability. In this paper, we propose Relative Counterfactual Contrastive Learning (RCCL), in which pretrained stance bias is mitigated as relative stance bias instead of absolute stance bias to overtake the difficulty of measuring bias. Firstly, we present a new structural causal model for characterizing complicated relationships among context, PLMs and stance relations to locate pretrained stance bias. Then, based on masked language model prediction, we present a target-aware relative stance sample generation method for obtaining relative bias. Finally, we use contrastive learning based on counterfactual theory to mitigate pretrained stance bias and preserve context stance relation. Experiments show that the proposed method is superior to stance detection and debiasing baselines.

Multi-Objective Optimization-based Transmit Beamforming for Multi-Target and Multi-User MIMO-ISAC Systems

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is an enabling technology for the sixth-generation mobile communications, which equips the wireless communication networks with sensing capabilities. In this paper, we investigate transmit beamforming design for multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO)-ISAC systems in scenarios with multiple radar targets and communication users. A general form of multi-target sensing mutual information (MI) is derived, along with its upper bound, which can be interpreted as the sum of individual single-target sensing MI. Additionally, this upper bound can be achieved by suppressing the cross-correlation among reflected signals from different targets, which aligns with the principles of adaptive MIMO radar. Then, we propose a multi-objective optimization framework based on the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio of each user and the tight upper bound of sensing MI, introducing the Pareto boundary to characterize the achievable communication-sensing performance boundary of the proposed ISAC system. To achieve the Pareto boundary, the max-min system utility function method is employed, while considering the fairness between communication users and radar targets. Subsequently, the bisection search method is employed to find a specific Pareto optimal solution by solving a series of convex feasible problems. Finally, simulation results validate that the proposed method achieves a better tradeoff between multi-user communication and multi-target sensing performance. Additionally, utilizing the tight upper bound of sensing MI as a performance metric can enhance the multi-target resolution capability and angle estimation accuracy.

Deep Learning Based Multi-Node ISAC 4D Environmental Reconstruction with Uplink- Downlink Cooperation

Utilizing widely distributed communication nodes to achieve environmental reconstruction is one of the significant scenarios for Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) and a crucial technology for 6G. To achieve this crucial functionality, we propose a deep learning based multi-node ISAC 4D environment reconstruction method with Uplink-Downlink (UL-DL) cooperation, which employs virtual aperture technology, Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) detection, and Mutiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) algorithm to maximize the sensing capabilities of single sensing nodes. Simultaneously, it introduces a cooperative environmental reconstruction scheme involving multi-node cooperation and Uplink-Downlink (UL-DL) cooperation to overcome the limitations of single-node sensing caused by occlusion and limited viewpoints. Furthermore, the deep learning models Attention Gate Gridding Residual Neural Network (AGGRNN) and Multi-View Sensing Fusion Network (MVSFNet) to enhance the density of sparsely reconstructed point clouds are proposed, aiming to restore as many original environmental details as possible while preserving the spatial structure of the point cloud. Additionally, we propose a multi-level fusion strategy incorporating both data-level and feature-level fusion to fully leverage the advantages of multi-node cooperation. Experimental results demonstrate that the environmental reconstruction performance of this method significantly outperforms other comparative method, enabling high-precision environmental reconstruction using ISAC system.

Integrated Sensing and Communication Signal Processing Based on Compressed Sensing Over Unlicensed Spectrum Bands

As a promising key technology of 6th generation (6G) mobile communication system, integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) technology aims to make full use of spectrum resources to enable the functional integration of communication and sensing. The ISAC-enabled mobile communication system regularly operate in non-continuous spectrum bands due to crowded licensed frequency bands. However, the conventional sensing algorithms over non-continuous spectrum bands have disadvantages such as reduced peak-to-side lobe ratio (PSLR) and degraded anti-noise performance. Facing this challenge, we propose a high-precision ISAC signal processing algorithm based on compressed sensing (CS) in this paper. By integrating the resource block group (RBG) configuration information in 5th generation new radio (5G NR) and channel information matrices, we can dynamically and accurately obtain power estimation spectra. Moreover, we employ the fast iterative shrinkage-thresholding algorithm (FISTA) to address the reconstruction problem and utilize K-fold cross validation (KCV) to obtain optimal parameters. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has lower sidelobes or even zero sidelobes compared with conventional sensing algorithms. Meanwhile, compared with the improved 2D FFT algorithm and conventional 2D FFT algorithm, the proposed algorithms in this paper have a maximum improvement of 54.66 % and 84.36 % in range estimation accuracy, and 41.54 % and 97.09 % in velocity estimation accuracy, respectively.

Cramer-Rao Bounds for Near-Field Sensing: A Generic Modular Architecture

A generic modular array architecture is proposed, featuring uniform/non-uniform subarray layouts that allows for flexible deployment. The bistatic near-field sensing system is considered, where the target is located in the near-field of the whole modular array and the far-field of each subarray. Then, the closed-form expressions of Cramer-Rao bounds (CRBs) for range and angle estimations are derived based on the hybrid spherical and planar wave model (HSPM). Simulation results validate the accuracy of the derived closed-form CRBs and demonstrate that: i) The HSPM with varying angles of arrival (AoAs) between subarrays can reduce the CRB for range estimation compared to the traditional HSPM with shared AoA; and ii) The proposed generic modular architecture with subarrays positioned closer to the edges can significantly reduce the CRBs compared to the traditional modular architecture with uniform subarray layout, when the array aperture is fixed.

Learning by Erasing: Conditional Entropy based Transferable Out-Of-Distribution Detection

Out-of-distribution (OOD) detection is essential to handle the distribution shifts between training and test scenarios. For a new in-distribution (ID) dataset, existing methods require retraining to capture the dataset-specific feature representation or data distribution. In this paper, we propose a deep generative models (DGM) based transferable OOD detection method, which is unnecessary to retrain on a new ID dataset. We design an image erasing strategy to equip exclusive conditional entropy distribution for each ID dataset, which determines the discrepancy of DGM's posteriori ucertainty distribution on different ID datasets. Owing to the powerful representation capacity of convolutional neural networks, the proposed model trained on complex dataset can capture the above discrepancy between ID datasets without retraining and thus achieve transferable OOD detection. We validate the proposed method on five datasets and verity that ours achieves comparable performance to the state-of-the-art group based OOD detection methods that need to be retrained to deploy on new ID datasets. A 5G DMRS-based Signal for Integrated Sensing and Communication System

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is considered as the potential key technology of the future mobile communication systems. The signal design is fundamental for the ISAC system. The reference signals in mobile communication systems have good detection performance, which is worth further research. Existing studies applied the single reference signal to radar sensing. In this paper, a multiple reference signals collaborative sensing scheme is designed. Specifically, we jointly apply channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS), positioning reference signal (PRS) and demodulation reference signal (DMRS) in radar sensing, which improve the performance of radar sensing via obtaining continuous time-frequency resource mapping. Crámer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) of the joint reference signal for distance and velocity estimation is derived. The impacts of carrier frequency and subcarrier spacing on the performance of distance and velocity estimation are revealed. The results of simulation experiments show that compared with the single reference signal sensing scheme, the multiple reference signals collaborative sensing scheme effectively improves the sensing accuracy. Moreover, because of the discontinuous OFDM symbols, the accuracy of velocity estimation could be further improved via compressed sensing (CS). This paper has verified that multiple reference signals, instead of single reference signal, have much more superior performance on radar sensing, which is a practical and efficient approach in designing ISAC signal.

Secure-ISAC: Secure V2X Communication: An Integrated Sensing and Communication Perspective

In Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) systems, reliable and secure information exchange plays a pivotal role in road safety and traffic management. Due to the open nature of the wireless medium and the constant or intermittent mobility of vehicles, the security of transmissions in V2X is more challenging compared to traditional wireless networks. Physical layer security (PLS) leverages the inherent randomness of wireless communication channels to ensure the confidentiality and security of information transmission. Current PLS schemes in integrated communications and sensing (ISAC) enabled V2X systems is to utilize communication interference to significantly impact the eavesdropping channel more than the legitimate channel. However, in an ISAC-enabled V2X system, it is crucial to prioritize and address the issue of interference coupling as it significantly impacts the confidentiality and security of information exchange. This goes beyond simply relying on the communication interference. Until now, no discussions or studies on integrating security with ISAC (Seucue-ISAC) in ISAC-enabled V2X systems, specifically regarding the exploitation of sensing interference or coupling interference. In this article, we provide a comprehensive review on PLS metrics and security threats encountered in V2X communication. And then, we discuss and analyze four popular PLS techniques and the main challenges associated with their implementation in ISAC-enabled V2X systems. Finally, we share our vision for PLS studies in ISAC-based V2X systems to promote Secure-ISAC.
