Deeply virtual pion production through two-loop order

Deeply virtual meson production (DVMP) is among the most prominent channels to extract the nucleon's generalized parton distributions (GPDs) at $ep$ scattering facilities such as {\tt JLab} and the upcoming {\tt EIC/EicC} experiments, which plays a vital role in unravelling the three-dimensional internal structure of nucleon. In this work we calculate for the first time the next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD radiative corrections to the DV$π$P processes $γ_L^* p\to π^+ n$ and $γ_L^* p\to π^0 p$ in the generalized Bjorken limit $Q^2\gg \vert t\vert, Λ_{\text{QCD}}^2$, accurate at the leading twist within collinear factorization framework. The impact of the two-loop QCD corrections appears to be positive and substantial, including which considerably improves the agreement between the perturbative QCD prediction and the available {\tt JLab} data. In addition to the differential longitudinal DV$π$P cross section, we also study the impact of the two-loop QCD corrections on the transverse single-spin asymmetries (TSSA) in some benchmark kinematics at {\tt JLab}, {\tt EIC} and {\tt EicC}.

Engineering Favorable Propagation: Near-Field IRS Deployment for Spatial Multiplexing

In intelligent reflecting surface IRS assisted multiple input multiple output MIMO systems, a strong line of sight LoS link is required to compensate for the severe cascaded path loss. However, such a link renders the effective channel highly rank deficient and fundamentally limits spatial multiplexing. To overcome this limitation, this paper leverages the large aperture of sparse arrays to harness near field spherical wavefronts, and establishes a deterministic deployment criterion that strategically positions the IRS in the near field of a base station BS. This placement exploits the spherical wavefronts of the BS IRS link to engineer decorrelated channels, thereby fundamentally overcoming the rank deficiency issue in far field cascaded channels. Based on a physical channel model for the sparse BS array and the IRS, we characterize the rank properties and inter user correlation of the cascaded BS IRS user channel. We further derive a closed form favorable propagation metric that reveals how the sparse array geometry and the IRS position can be tuned to reduce inter user channel correlation. The resulting geometry driven deployment rule provides a simple guideline for creating a favorable propagation environment with enhanced effective degrees of freedom. The favorable channel statistics induced by our deployment criterion enable a low complexity maximum ratio transmission MRT precoding scheme. This serves as the foundation for an efficient algorithm that jointly optimizes the IRS phase shifts and power allocation based solely on long term statistical channel state information CSI. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of our deployment criterion and demonstrate that our optimization framework achieves significant performance gains over benchmark schemes.

Simulation of smooth models of potentials with singular point using Many-Interacting-Worlds Method

The deterministic many-interacting-worlds method proposed in 2014 showed potential among the numerous interpretation of quantum mechanics. The successful application of this method in harmonic oscillator has been promoted for a long time. In this article we continue the idea about using this method to solve some bounded systems different from harmonic oscillator potential and extend to 2 dimension cases. We focus on the potential with singularity like coulomb potential and finite trap potential by some asymptotic smooth method. The numerical simulation mainly based on the dynamical algorithm proposed in many-interacting-worlds method will be used to approach the stationary states of given systems. Our results shows the consistency to the matrix Numerov method in standard quantum mechanics in solving bounded systems and provides the possibility to solve more complex systems.

Multi-User MIMO with Rotatable Antennas and IRS: Joint Antenna Boresight and IRS Orientation Design

In this paper, we investigate an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-assisted multi-user system, where the base station (BS) employs rotatable antennas (RAs) and the IRS can adjust the panel orientation. To alleviate the severe multiplicative path loss of the cascaded channel, the IRS is deployed near the BS, while the user-BS and user-IRS links remain in the far field. We formulate a sum-rate maximization problem by jointly optimizing the receive beamforming, IRS phase shifts, BS antenna boresights, and IRS panel orientation. To tackle the resulting highly coupled and non-convex problem, we first study a single-user case to reveal the structure of the dual-rotation gain, which is shown to be multiplicatively separable in the far field but coupled in the near field. For the general multi-user case, we develop an alternating optimization algorithm, where the receive beamforming is updated in closed form, the IRS phase shifts are optimized by an FP-assisted Riemannian conjugate gradient method, and the BS antenna boresights and IRS panel orientation are updated via projected gradient methods. Simulation results demonstrate the significant sum-rate gains achieved by the proposed coordinated rotation design over fixed-orientation and single-rotation benchmark schemes, and provide useful insights into near-field dual-rotation design.

Fluid RIS (FRIS)-Assisted Index Modulation for 6G Wireless Communications

Fluid reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (FRIS) extend conventional reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) by adding spatial reconfigurability through switchable apertures, pattern-reconfigurable units, fluidic conductive materials, or movable surface elements. This article studies how FRIS can support index modulation (IM), where information bits select a surface configuration and the receiver detects the index from the induced receiver-side response. A key challenge is that many feasible FRIS layouts do not necessarily lead to many reliable spatial indices. After propagation, mutual coupling, hardware distortion, and receiver observation, different layouts may produce similar receiver-side responses and cause index-detection errors. To address this issue, we present a response-aware design view, in which FRIS spatial codebooks are selected according to response-domain separability rather than layout diversity alone. We also discuss actuation granularity as a practical design knob that balances spatial diversity, pilot overhead, coupling robustness, and hardware feasibility. The resulting workflow helps select compact, trainable, and controllable spatial-index codebooks from dense FRIS layouts, providing design guidance for future programmable wireless environments.

Fundamental Tradeoff in Movable Antenna Systems: How Long to Move Before Transmission?

The movable antenna (MA) technology enables flexible reconfiguration of wireless channels through adaptive antenna deployment, offering significant potential for enhancing communication performance. However, antenna movement requires a certain duration within which communication may be compromised due to factors such as channel fluctuation and Doppler effect. This leads to a fundamental tradeoff: A longer movement duration allows antennas to reach more favorable positions for better channel conditions, but it inevitably reduces the time available for data transmission. To characterize the aforementioned tradeoff, we focus on the MAs-enabled multiuser downlink scenario, and jointly optimize the movement duration and antenna deployment at the base station to maximize the effective throughput. The formulated problem is highly non-convex. The general solutions require an one-dimensional search over movement durations, each with optimized antenna deployment. To reduce complexity, we propose a fitting method that samples only a few rate-duration pairs, yielding a closed-form expression that captures the rate trend and enables a favorable solution immediately. We further derive a closed-form condition on the maximum antenna movement speed: When the speed is below a certain threshold, the optimal strategy is to keep antennas stationary throughout the transmission period. The fundamental tradeoff and the effectiveness of the proposed solutions are examined in a special case with two MAs and two users. Finally, numerical simulations validate the efficacy of the proposed schemes.

Joint Optimization of Trajectory Control, Resource Allocation, and Task Offloading for Multi-UAV-Assisted IoV

This paper investigates a multi-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) joint base station-assisted Internet of Vehicles (IoV) task offloading system in dense urban environments. To minimize system delay and energy consumption under strict coupling constraints, the complex non-convex optimization problem is decoupled into a hierarchical execution framework. First, a sequential distributed optimization algorithm based on Second-Order Cone Programming (SOCP) is proposed to optimize the 3D flight trajectory of each UAV, ensuring adaptive network coverage. Second, a novel hybrid resource scheduling paradigm synergizing Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) and Large Language Models (LLMs) is developed. Within this framework, the DRL agent dictates the initial resource allocation, while the LLM acts as a semantic macro-scheduler to rectify long-tail allocation imbalances for failed and surplus tasks. Crucially, a reward decoupling mechanism is introduced to isolate DRL training from external LLM interventions, thereby ensuring policy convergence. Finally, the task offloading ratios are precisely determined via Linear Programming (LP) within an alternating optimization loop. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly outperforms traditional multi-agent reinforcement learning baselines in terms of task success rate and system efficiency.

Two-Timescale Design for Rotatable-Antenna Systems With Imperfect CSI: Rate Analysis and Orientation Optimization

This paper studies uplink multiuser MIMO with a rotatable antenna (RA) array under imperfect channel state information (CSI), where each base-station antenna can adjust its boresight direction within an angular region. To balance performance and control overhead, we propose a two-timescale design: RA orientations are optimized from statistical CSI on a large timescale, while linear receive combiners are updated per coherence block from linear minimum-mean-squared-error (LMMSE) channel estimates. Under this framework, we derive a closed-form use-and-then-forget (UatF)-based rate expression for maximum-ratio combining (MRC) and a closed-form statistical rate surrogate for weighted zero-forcing (wZF) under imperfect CSI, revealing how RA rotation influences useful signal strength, estimation-error-induced self-interference, and multiuser interference. The analysis shows that the orientation minimizing channel-estimation error differs from the rate-maximizing one, and that MRC and wZF prefer different rotation configurations due to their distinct mechanisms of signal aggregation and error-aware user separation. For the resulting non-convex rotation design problems, we develop a projected-gradient algorithm over a product of spherical caps with explicit derivatives of the required channel statistics and rate metrics. Numerical results verify the accuracy of the large-timescale surrogates and show substantial performance gains from RA optimization.

Cell-Free MIMO with Rotatable Antennas: When Macro-Diversity Meets Antenna Directivity

Cell-free networks leverage distributed access points (APs) to achieve macro-diversity, yet their performance is often constrained by large disparities in channel quality arising from user geometry and blockages. To address this, rotatable antennas (RAs) add a lightweight hardware degree of freedom by steering the antenna boresight toward dominant propagation directions to strengthen unfavorable links, thereby enabling the network to better exploit macro-diversity for higher and more uniform performance. This paper investigates an RA-enabled cell-free downlink network and formulates a max-min rate problem that jointly optimizes transmit beamforming and antenna orientations. To tackle this challenging problem, we develop an alternating-optimization-based algorithm that iteratively updates the beamformers via a second-order cone program (SOCP) and optimizes the antenna orientations using successive convex approximation. To reduce complexity, we further propose an efficient two-stage scheme that first designs orientations by maximizing a proportional-fair log-utility using manifold-aware Frank-Wolfe updates, and then computes the beamformers using an SOCP-based design. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed orientation-aware designs achieve a substantially higher worst-user rate than conventional beamforming-only benchmarks. Furthermore, larger antenna directivity enhances fairness with proper orientation but can degrade the worst-user performance otherwise.

Single-Step Six-Dimensional Movable Antenna Reconfiguration for High-Mobility IoV: Modeling, Analysis, and Optimization

The Six-Dimensional Movable Antenna (6DMA) system has emerged as a promising technology to enhance wireless capacity by fully exploiting spatial degrees of freedom. However, applying 6DMA to high-mobility Internet of Vehicles (IoV) scenarios faces significant challenges, primarily due to the difficulty of acquiring instantaneous Channel State Information (CSI) and the risk of service interruptions caused by mechanical reconfiguration delays. To address these issues, this paper proposes a low-complexity, CSI-free single-step reconfiguration framework. First, we design a deterministic discrete position generation scheme based on a latitude-longitude grid with inherent topological structures. Leveraging graph theory, we explicitly model and theoretically derive the lower bounds of movement and time costs for antenna reconfiguration. Subsequently, utilizing the directional sparsity of 6DMA channels, we develop an adaptive optimization strategy that fuses offline environmental priors with online historical feedback. Furthermore, a periodic reconfiguration mechanism based on predicted cumulative vehicle distributions is introduced. By strictly restricting antenna adjustments to the first-order spatial neighborhood, the proposed single-step method effectively eliminates service interruptions. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms traditional fixed and global-search-based benchmarks in terms of uplink sum rate, while incurring negligible mechanical overhead and latency, thereby validating its feasibility and robustness in highly dynamic vehicular networks.

SVOM/VT: Instrument Overview, Science Objectives, and First-Year Performance

The 44-cm Visible Telescope (VT) aboard the Space-based Variable Objects Monitor (SVOM) is a dual-band (400-650 nm and 650-1000 nm) instrument designed to detect and characterize the optical counterparts of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and other high-energy transients. This paper presents the VT's design, scientific objectives, observing strategies, and both space- and ground-based data processing pipelines, along with its first-year in-orbit performance. In-orbit commissioning tests confirm a sensitivity of 22.5 AB mag (300 s exposure), extendable to $\sim\!24$ AB mag through stacking. This performance enables the VT to monitor over 100 GRBs in its first year with an exceptional $\sim\!80\%$ detection rate for \textit{SVOM}/ECLAIRS-triggered bursts and ToO-observed bursts from other missions (e.g., \textit{Swift, Fermi, Einstein Probe (EP)}), outperforming \textit{Swift}/UVOT's $\sim\!40\%$ detection rate. Beyond its exceptional detection efficiency, the VT played a key role in identifying high-redshift GRBs-most notably GRB 250314A (z = 7.3). Its deep upper limits at long wavelengths (up to 1 $μ$m) were pivotal in guiding follow-up observations with large ground-based telescopes, enabling crucial near-infrared (NIR) detections. With its rapid response, deep sensitivity, and real-time processing capabilities, the VT is a key instrument for GRB research in \textit{SVOM}-era, enabling critical studies of GRB optical afterglows, circumburst environments, relativistic jet dynamics, and the origins of optically dark bursts.

Detections of nearly bias-free core shifts with 5-30 $μ$as precisions at 8-43 GHz in BL Lacertae

When a radio jet is partially optically thick in the launching region, its apparent compact core may display frequency-dependent positional shifts. High-precision astrometric measurements of core shifts enable astronomers to pinpoint the jet's origin and place tight constraints on the magnetic field. BL Lacertae, the archetypal BL Lac object, hosts a highly variable and well-collimated jet. To independently constrain its innermost core shifts, we conducted very long baseline interferometric (VLBI) observations at 8.4, 12.4, 15.2, 23.6, and 43.2 GHz. By exploiting a nearby (13.3 arcmin) steep-spectrum calibrator (NVSS J220340+420839) through inverse phase-referencing VLBI astrometry, we detect nearly unbiased two-dimensional core shift measurements with state-of-the-art precisions of 5-30 $μ$as, which are significant at $>3σ$ confidence. The core shift between 8.4 and 43.2 GHz reaches 250 $μ$as. The apparent core shifts scale with frequency as $ν^{-1/k_r}$, implying the existence of an optically thick region in the upstream of jet. The derived core-shift index, $k_r\!=\!1.18^{+0.59}_{-0.34}$, is consistent, within uncertainties, with the canonical $k_r\!=\!1$ expected under energy equipartition between the jet particle and magnetic field energy densities, while allowing for modest deviations given that BL Lacertae was captured in a flaring state.

Seeing Beyond RGB Capabilities: Data-Driven and Physics-Guided Broadband Spectral Extrapolation of Plasmonic Nanostructures by Deep Learning

Localized surface plasmons can confine light within a deep-subwavelength volume comparable to the scale of atoms and molecules, enabling ultrasensitive responses to near-field variations. On the other hand, this extreme localization also inevitably amplifies the unwanted noise from the response of local morphological imperfections, leading to complex spectral variations and reduced consistency across the plasmonic nanostructures. Seeking uniform optical responses has therefore long been a sought-after goal in nanoplasmonics. However, conventional probing techniques by dark-field (DF) confocal microscopy, such as image analysis or spectral measurements, can be inaccurate and time-consuming, respectively. Here, we introduce SPARX, a deep-learning-powered paradigm that surpasses conventional imaging and spectroscopic capabilities. In particular, SPARX can batch-predict broadband DF spectra (e.g., 500-1000 nm) of numerous nanoparticles simultaneously from an information-limited RGB image (i.e., below 700 nm). It achieves this extrapolative inference beyond the camera's capture capabilities by learning the underlying physical relationships among multiple orders of optical resonances. The spectral predictions only take milliseconds, achieving a speedup of three to four orders of magnitude compared to traditional spectral acquisition, which may take from hours to days. As a proof-of-principle demonstration for screening identical resonances, the selection accuracy achieved by SPARX is comparable to that of conventional spectroscopy techniques. This breakthrough paves the way for consistent plasmonic applications and next-generation microscopies.

Decomposition of angular momentum projected nuclear wave function

Angular momentum projection is a basic technique in constructing nuclear wave functions with good spins. Traditionally, a projected nuclear wave function is expressed in terms of the bases built by performing the angular momentum projection directly on reference states for the whole nuclear system. Alternatively, one can construct nuclear wave function with another kind of projected bases, called as the coupled projected bases, which are generated by first performing the angular momentum projections on the reference states for neutrons and protons, respectively, then coupling the neutron projected states with the proton ones via Clebsch-Gordon coefficients. In the present work, we derive a new identity, which provides a decomposition of the conventional angular momentum projected nuclear wave function in terms of the coupled projected bases. This decomposition offers direct insight into the underlying structure of nuclear states. To show this point, we present the decompositions of variation after projection shell model (VAPSM) wave functions for the ground states in some $sd$ shell nuclei. It is interesting to see that even for the ground states in even-even nuclei, the nucleons are not fully paired. Finally, we demonstrate that the VAPSM wave function can be further improved by adopting the coupled projected bases.

Personalized Federated Distillation Assisted Vehicle Edge Caching Strategy

Vehicle edge caching is a promising technology that can significantly reduce the latency for vehicle users (VUs) to access content by pre-caching user-interested content at edge nodes. It is crucial to accurately predict the content that VUs are interested in without exposing their privacy. Traditional federated learning (FL) can protect user privacy by sharing models rather than raw data. However, the training of FL requires frequent model transmission, which can result in significant communication overhead. Additionally, vehicles may leave the road side unit (RSU) coverage area before training is completed, leading to training failures. To address these issues, in this paper, we propose a personalized federated distillation assisted vehicle edge caching strategy. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed vehicle edge caching strategy has good robustness to variations in vehicle speed, significantly reducing communication overhead.

Physics-Informed Neural Operator for Electromagnetic Inverse Scattering Problems

This paper proposes a physics-informed neural operator (PINO) framework for solving inverse scattering problems, enabling rapid and accurate reconstructions under diverse measurement conditions. In the proposed approach, the dielectric property is represented as a learnable tensor, while a neural operator is employed to predict the induced current distribution. A hybrid loss function, consisting of the state loss, data loss and total-variation (TV) regularization, is constructed to establish a fully differentiable formulation for a joint optimization of network parameters and dielectric property. To demonstrate the framework's generality and flexibility, PINO is implemented using three representative neural operators, i.e., the Fourier Neural Operator (FNO), the enhanced Fourier Neural Operator (U-FNO) and the Factorized Fourier Neural Operator (F-FNO). Compared with conventional approaches, the proposed framework offers a simpler formulation and universal modeling capability, making it readily applicable to various measurement scenarios, including multi-frequency and phaseless inversion. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed PINO achieves high accuracy and robust reconstruction across samples with and without phase information, under single-frequency and multi-frequency settings in the presence of noise. The results demonstrate that PINO consistently outperforms conventional contrast-source inversion (CSI) methods and provides an efficient, unified solution to complex electromagnetic inverse-scattering problems.

6D Movable Antenna for Internet of Vehicles: CSI-Free Dynamic Antenna Configuration

Deploying six-dimensional movable antenna (6DMA) systems in Internet-of-Vehicles (IoV) scenarios can greatly enhance spectral efficiency. However, the high mobility of vehicles causes rapid spatio-temporal channel variations, posing a significant challenge to real-time 6DMA optimization. In this work, we pioneer the application of 6DMA in IoV and propose a low-complexity, instantaneous channel state information (CSI)-free dynamic configuration method. By integrating vehicle motion prediction with offline directional response priors, the proposed approach optimizes antenna positions and orientations at each reconfiguration epoch to maximize the average sum rate over a future time window. Simulation results in a typical urban intersection scenario demonstrate that the proposed 6DMA scheme significantly outperforms conventional fixed antenna arrays and simplified 6DMA baseline schemes in terms of total sum rate.

Evidence of Long-Lived Powerful Gyrosynchrotron Radio Emission in the Close Binary FF UMa

RS Canum Venaticorum (RS CVn) close binaries, characterized by tidal locking, rapid rotations, and strong magnetic fields, are ideal laboratories for high-resolution radio observations to probe emission processes, magnetic field configurations, and interaction activity. Despite their importance, only a few RS CVn sources have been explored by polarimetric observations of very long baseline interferometry (VLBI). To expand the effort, we have analyzed the existing Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) astrometric data for the RS CVn binary FF Ursae Majoris (FF UMa). In the 5GHz VLBA experiments conducted between 2021 and 2024, both total intensity and circularly polarized emission were clearly detected at six of seven epochs. The consistently high brightness temperatures (10^7 K) and the moderate fractional circular polarization (10%-30%) over about three years indicate that the radio emission is mainly produced by gyrosynchrotron radiation from mildly relativistic electrons in the highly-ordered magnetic field. The radio luminosities are also comparable to those of previously studied powerful RS CVn binaries and show a significant anti-correlation with fractional circular polarization. A mean centroid offset of 13.4 +/- 3.1 solar radii between the Stokes I and V emission was found across multiple epochs, indicating a possible additional contribution from the secondary star via a magnetically active corona, a giant magnetic loop, or significant interaction activity with the primary star in the quiescent state.
