Grothendieck groups in extriangulated categories

The aim of the paper is to discuss the relation subgroups of the Grothendieck groups of extriangulated categories and certain other subgroups. It is shown that a locally finite extriangulated category $\C$ has Auslander-Reiten $\E-$triangles and the relations of the Grothendieck group $K_{0}(\C)$ are generated by the Auslander-Rieten $\E-$triangles. A partial converse result is given when restricting to the triangulated categories with a cluster tilting subcategory: in the triangulated category $\C$ with a cluster tilting subcategory, the relations of the Grothendieck group $K_0(\C)$ are generated by Auslander-Reiten triangles if and only if the triangulated category $\C$ is locally finite. It is also shown that there is a one-to-one correspondence between subgroups of $K_{0}(\C)$ containing the image of $\mathcal G$ and dense $\mathcal G-$(co)resolving subcategories of $\C$ where $\mathcal G$ is a generator of $\C,$ which generalizes results about classifying subcategories of a triangulated \cite{t} or an exact category $\C$ \cite{m} by subgroups of $K_{0}(\C)$.

Automatic Group Cohesiveness Detection With Multi-modal Features

Group cohesiveness is a compelling and often studied composition in group dynamics and group performance. The enormous number of web images of groups of people can be used to develop an effective method to detect group cohesiveness. This paper introduces an automatic group cohesiveness prediction method for the 7th Emotion Recognition in the Wild (EmotiW 2019) Grand Challenge in the category of Group-based Cohesion Prediction. The task is to predict the cohesive level for a group of people in images. To tackle this problem, a hybrid network including regression models which are separately trained on face features, skeleton features, and scene features is proposed. Predicted regression values, corresponding to each feature, are fused for the final cohesive intensity. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid network is effective and makes promising improvements. A mean squared error (MSE) of 0.444 is achieved on the testing sets which outperforms the baseline MSE of 0.5.

Investigation of Effects of New Physics in $Λ_b\toΛ_c τ\barν_τ$ Decay

Recent experimental results of ${\cal R}(D^{(*)})$ deviate from the standard model (SM) by $3.1σ$, suggesting a new physics (NP) that affects the $b\to c τ\barν_τ$ transition. Motivated by this, we investigate the possible NP effects in the $Λ_b\toΛ_c τ\barν_τ$ decay. For this purpose, assuming the neutrinos are left-handed, we calculate in detail the helicity amplitudes of $Λ_b\toΛ_c \ell\barν_\ell$ decays with all possible four-fermion operators. Within the latest results of $Λ_b\toΛ_c$ form factors from lattice QCD calculations, we study these decays in a model-independent manner. The differential and total branching fractions and other observables are calculated. In SM, we obtain the ratio ${\cal R}(Λ_c)=0.33\pm0.01$. Supposing that NP only affects the third generation fermions, we present the correlations among ${\cal R}(D)$, ${\cal R}(D^*)$ and ${\cal R}(Λ_c)$. We perform a minimum $χ^2$ fit of the wilson coefficient of each operator to the latest experimental data of different observables. It is found that the left-handed scalar operator ${\cal O}_{SL}$ affects the branching fraction remarkably, and the ratio ${\cal R}(Λ_c)$ can be enhanced by $30\%$. For other operators, the ratio amounts to $0.38\pm0.02$, which is larger than prediction of SM by $20\%$. Using the fitted values of the wilson coefficients of the single NP operators, we also give a prognosis for the physical observables of $Λ_b\toΛ_c τ\barν_τ$. Furthermore, we also study the effects of three typical NP models on $Λ_b\toΛ_c τ\barν_τ$. We hope our results can be tested in the current LHCb experiment and the future high energy experiments.

The systems with almost Banach mean equicontinuity for abelian group actions

In this paper, we give the concept of Banach-mean equicontinuity and prove that three concepts, Bnanach-, Weyl- and Besicovitch-mean equicontinuity of a dynamic system with abelian group action are equivalent. Furthermore, we obtain that the topological entropy of a transitive, almost Banach-mean equicontinuous dynamical system with abelain group action is zero. As an application with our main result, we show that the topological entropy of the Banach-mean equicontinuous system under the action of an abelian groups is zero.

Gauged $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ Scotogenic Model in light of $R_{K^{(*)}}$ Anomaly and AMS-02 Positron Excess

We study the gauged $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ scotogenic model with emphasis on latest measurement of LHCb $R_{K^{(*)}}$ anomaly and AMS-02 positron excess. In this model, neutrino masses are induced at one-loop level with $Z_2$-odd particles, i.e., right-handed neutrinos $N_\ell(\ell=e,μ,τ)$ and inert scalar doublet $η$ inside the loop. Meanwhile, the gauged $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ symmetry is broken spontaneously by the scalar singlet $S$, resulting to the massive gauge boson $Z'$. Provided certain couplings to quarks induced by heavy vector-like quarks, the gauge boson $Z'$ would contribute to the transition $b\to s μ^+μ^-$, hence explain the $R_{K^{(*)}}$ anomaly. As for the Majorana fermion DM $N$, the gauge boson $Z'$ and the singlet Higgs $H_0$ will generate various annihilation channels, among which the $NN\to Z'Z'$ and $NN\to Z'H_0(\to Z'Z')$ channel could be used to interpret the AMS-02 positron excess. We give a comprehensive analysis on model parameter space with consider various current constraints. The combined analysis shows that the $R_{K^{(*)}}$ anomaly and AMS-02 positron excess can be explained simultaneously.

On the Well-Posedness of a Parametric Spectral Estimation Problem and Its Numerical Solution

This paper concerns a spectral estimation problem in which we want to find a spectral density function that is consistent with estimated second-order statistics. It is an inverse problem admitting multiple solutions, and selection of a solution can be based on prior functions. We show that the problem is well-posed when formulated in a parametric fashion, and that the solution parameter depends continuously on the prior function. In this way, we are able to obtain a smooth parametrization of admissible spectral densities. Based on this result, the problem is reparametrized via a bijective change of variables out of a numerical consideration, and then a continuation method is used to compute the unique solution parameter. Numerical aspects such as convergence of the proposed algorithm and certain computational procedures are addressed. A simple example is provided to show the effectiveness of the algorithm.

Fusion of Sensors Data in Automotive Radar Systems: A Spectral Estimation Approach

To accurately estimate locations and velocities of surrounding targets (cars) is crucial for advanced driver assistance systems based on radar sensors. In this paper we derive methods for fusing data from multiple radar sensors in order to improve the accuracy and robustness of such estimates. First we pose the target estimation problem as a multivariate multidimensional spectral estimation problem. The problem is multivariate since each radar sensor gives rise to a measurement channel. Then we investigate how the use of the cross-spectra affects target estimates. We see that the use of the magnitude of the cross-spectrum significantly improves the accuracy of the target estimates, whereas an attempt to compensate the phase lag of the cross-spectrum only gives marginal improvement. This paper may be viewed as a first step towards applying high-resolution methods that builds on multidimensional multivariate spectral estimation for sensor fusion.

On the Uniqueness Result of Theorem 6 in "Relative Entropy and the Multivariable Multidimensional Moment Problem"

Matrix-valued covariance extension and multivariate spectral estimation are formulated as generalized moment problems in the "THREE" approach and its extensions. Under this context, we discuss Theorem 6 in \cite{Georgiou-06} concerning the bijectivity of a moment map defined over a parametric family of spectral densities. In particular, we provide a counterexample in which the moment map under consideration is shown to have a critical point, namely a point at which the Jacobian loses rank. Then with standard techniques in bifurcation theory, we conclude further that the computed critical point is a bifurcation point, which means that the moment map is not injective.

Non-minimal Higgs-gravity coupling and naturalness at the LHC and beyond

The non-minimal Higgs-gravity coupling, $ξH^\dagger H R$, can play an interesting role in particle physics. We utilize the available LHC Run-2 data to obtain the bound on the coupling $ξ$ and discuss the prospects of constraining it at CEPC, FCC-ee and ILC. Also, we investigate its implication on the naturalness.

Tilting subcategories in extriangulated categories

Extriangulated category was introduced by Nakaoka and Palu to give a unification of properties in exact categories and triangulated categories. A notion of tilting (or cotilting) subcategories in an extriangulated category is defined in this paper. We give a Bazzoni characterization of tilting (or cotilting) subcategories and obtain an Auslander-Reiten correspondence between tilting (cotilting) subcategories and coresolving covariantly (resolving contravariantly, resp.) finite subcatgories which are closed under direct summands and satisfies some cogenerating (generating, resp.) conditons. Applications of the results are given: we show that tilting (cotilting) subcategories defined here unify many previous works about tilting theory in module categories of Artin algebras and abelian categories admitting a cotorsion triples; we also show that the results work for triangulated categories with a proper class of triangles introduced by Beligiannis.

Consistent origin of neutrino mass and freeze-in dark matter in large N theories

Most of what we concern in beyond standard phenomenology are the existence of tiny numbers. The well-defined principle for protecting the tiny number to be large from quantum correction is supersymmetry. However, such a nice framework is challenged by the non-observation of superpartners at LHC. Instead, we propose a new principle to realize a natural framework to explain the smallness of feebly interaction dark matter coupling and neutrino mass. The scalar sector as well as gauge sector must be extended to include $N$ copies as a price. It is found in this paper that the yukawa coupling $y$ as well as quartic coupling $λ$ scales with inverse power of $N$ to maintain perturbativity. In terms of the scaling behavior of couplings, the freeze-in dark matter becomes compatible with neutrino mass requirement. The biggest observation is that $y$ has to be evaluated by $1/N^{3/2}$ in type-I seesaw mechanism in order to obtain a large $N$ suppressed neutrino mass. The intrinsic hierarchy between $1/\sqrt{N}$ and $1/N^{3/2}$ for yukawa coupling $y$ can be improved if we focus on the loop generated neutrino mass which can be relaxed to be $1/N$. The underlying reason for not use $1/\sqrt{N}$ is that freeze-in dark matter provides a lower bound for the scaling. Therefore the only choice of scaling for yukawa coupling is left to be $1/N$. Based on this simple scaling, we realiza an unified framework for explaining FIMP and neutrino mass.

Two-term relative cluster tilting subcategories, $τ-$tilting modules and silting subcategories

Let $\mathcal{C}$ be a triangulated category with shift functor $[1]$ and $\mathcal{R}$ a rigid subcategory of $\mathcal{C}$. We introduce the notions of two-term $\mathcal{R}[1]$-rigid subcategories, two-term (weak) $\mathcal{R}[1]$-cluster tilting subcategories and two-term maximal $\mathcal{R}[1]$-rigid subcategories, and discuss relationship between them. Our main result shows that there exists a bijection between the set of two-term $\mathcal{R}[1]$-rigid subcategories of $\mathcal{C}$ and the set of $τ$-rigid subcategories of $\mod\mathcal{R}$, which induces a one-to-one correspondence between the set of two-term weak $\mathcal{R}[1]$-cluster tilting subcategories of $\mathcal{C}$ and the set of support $τ$-tilting subcategories of $\mod\mathcal{R}$. This generalizes the main results in \cite{YZZ} where $\mathcal{R}$ is a cluster tilting subcategory. When $\mathcal{R}$ is a silting subcategory, we prove that the two-term weak $\mathcal{R}[1]$-cluster tilting subcategories are precisely two-term silting subcategories in \cite{IJY}. Thus the bijection above induces the bijection given by Iyama-Jørgensen-Yang in \cite{IJY}

Design and characterization of high energy micro-CT with a laser-based X-ray source

The increasingly demand for machining accuracy and product quality excites a great interest in high-resolution non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, but spatial resolution of conventional high-energy computed tomography (CT) is limited to sub-millimeter because of large X-ray spot size. Therefore, we propose a novel high-resolution high-energy CT based on laser-driven X-ray source and prove its feasibility to allow high-spatial-resolution tomographic imaging of dense objects. A numerical model is developed with a consideration of realistic factors including parameter fluctuations, statistical noise and detecting efficiency. By using modulation transfer functions, the system performance is quantitatively characterized and optimized in terms of source characteristics, detector aperture, geometrical configuration and projection parameters. As a result, the simulated tomography for a high-density object (up to 19.35g/cm3) achieves a basic spatial resolution of 64.9μm. This concept expands the prospects of laser-based compact X-ray sources and shows a great potential to achieve high-perspectivity micro-CT imaging for various industrial applications.

Direct Detection of Axion-Like Particles in Bismuth-Based Topological Insulators

In recent years a new field emerged in dark matter community and immediately attracted a multitude of theoriests and experimentalists, that of light dark matter direct detection in electronic systems. The phenomenon is similar with nuclear recoil in elastic scattering between dark matter and nucleus but with different kinematics. Due to the small energy gap, the electronic system can probe sub-GeV dark matter rather than nucleus target. In particular the absorption into materials can even detect ultra-light dark matter within mass around meV. In terms of the equivalence between optical conductivity and absorption cross section, axion detection can be computed in Bismuth-based topological insulators. It is found that topological insulator has strong sensitivity on axion and provides a complementary direct detection to superconductor and semiconductors. The novelty of topological insulator is that the thin film could even obtain the same sensitivity as superconductor.

Cluster subalgebras and cotorsion pairs in Frobenius extriangulated categories

Nakaoka and Palu introduced the notion of extriangulated categories by extracting the similarities between exact categories and triangulated categories. In this paper, we study cotorsion pairs in a Frobenius extriangulated category $\C$. Especially, for a $2$-Calabi-Yau extriangulated category $\C$ with a cluster structure, we describe the cluster substructure in the cotorsion pairs. For rooted cluster algebras arising from $\C$ with cluster tilting objects, we give a one-to-one correspondence between cotorsion pairs in $\C$ and certain pairs of their rooted cluster subalgebras which we call complete pairs. Finally, we explain this correspondence by an example relating to a Grassmannian cluster algebra.

$n$-abelian quotient categories

Let $\C$ be an $(n+2)$-angulated category with shift functor $Σ$ and $\X$ be a cluster-tilting subcategory of $\C$. Then we show that the quotient category $\C/\X$ is an $n$-abelian category. If $\C$ has a Serre functor, then $\C/\X$ is equivalent to an $n$-cluster tilting subcategory of an abelian category $\textrm{mod}(Σ^{-1}\X)$. Moreover, we also prove that $\textrm{mod}(Σ^{-1}\X)$ is Gorenstein of Gorenstein dimension at most $n$. As an application, we generalize recent results of Jacobsen-Jørgensen and Koenig-Zhu.

Confronting the DAMPE Excess with the Scotogenic Type-II Seesaw Model

The DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) has observed a tentative peak at $E\sim1.4~\TeV$ in the cosmic-ray electron spectrum. In this paper, we interpret this excess in the scotogenic type-II seesaw model. This model extends the canonical type-II seesaw model with dark matter (DM) candidates and a loop-induced vacuum expectation value of the triplet scalars, $v_Δ$, resulting in small neutrino masses naturally even for TeV scale triplet scalars. Assuming a nearby DM subhalo, the DAMPE excess can be explained by DM annihilating into a pair of triplet scalars which subsequently decay to charged lepton final states. Spectrum fitting of the DAMPE excess indicates it potentially favors the inverted neutrino mass hierarchy. We also discuss how to evade associated neutrino flux in our model.

Realization of Sneutrino Self-interacting Dark Matter in the Focus Point Supersymmetry

The Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (LSP) is generally regarded as higgsino in focus point supersymmetry (SUSY). Under such circumstance it leads to bileptino LSP when the MSSM is extended by $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge group within the framework of Double Focus Point (DFP) supersymmetry. The bileptino is a copy of higgsino whose partner, bilepton, is used to break $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge symmetry spontaneously. Such scenario, however, is not favored by direct detection since it leads to unacceptable spin-independent cross section when one requires correct self-scattering cross section. We point out that is not necessarily the case even in the presence of light $Z^{\prime}$. The right-handed sneutrino in this model acts as LSP in most of parameter space for non-vanishing soft trilinear coupling $T_η$. It is thus consistent of the requirement of DFP SUSY without involving any direct detection issue. The corrected relic abundance could be achieved via sneutrino annihilate into pair of bilepton which also serve as light mediator in Self-Interacting Dark Matter (SIDM). Moreover, stringent constraint comes from CMB anisotropies can be evaded by considering retarded decay of right-handed neutrinos. We further stress the need for a large soft trilinear term $T_η$ in order to generate desirable self-scattering cross section $σ/m_{\tildeν_R}$ with moderate Yukawa coupling $Y_η$. The numerical calculation illustrates that SIDM is reliable in our model from the scales of dwarf galaxy to galaxy cluster.
