Naturalness, dark matter, and the muon anomalous magnetic moment in supersymmetric extensions of the standard model with a pseudo-Dirac gluino

We study the naturalness, dark matter, and muon anomalous magnetic moment in the Supersymmetric Standard Models (SSMs) with a pseudo-Dirac gluino (PDGSSMs) from hybrid $F-$ and $D-$term supersymmetry (SUSY) breakings. To obtain the observed dark matter relic density and explain the muon anomalous magnetic moment, we find that the low energy fine-tuning measures are larger than about 30 due to strong constraints from the LUX and PANDAX experiments. Thus, to study the natural PDGSSMs, we consider multi-component dark matter and then the relic density of the lighest supersymmetric particle (LSP) neutralino is smaller than the correct value. We classify our models into six kinds: (i) Case A is a general case, which has small low energy fine-tuning measure and can explain the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon; (ii) Case B with the LSP neutralino and light stau coannihilation; (iii) Case C with Higgs funnel; (iv) Case D with Higgsino LSP; (v) Case E with light stau coannihilation and Higgsino LSP; (vi) Case F with Higgs funnel and Higgsino LSP. We study these Cases in details, and show that our models can be natural and consistent with the LUX and PANDAX experiments, as well as explain the muon anomalous magnetic moment. In particular, all these cases except the stau coannihilation can even have low energy fine-tuning measures around 10.

Triangulated categories with cluster-tilting subcategories

Let $\C$ be a triangulated category with a cluster tilting subcategory $\T$. We introduce the notion of $\T[1]$-cluster tilting subcategories (also called ghost cluster tilting subcategories) of $\C$, which are a generalization of cluster tilting subcategories. We first develop a basic theory on ghost cluster tilting subcategories. Secondly, we study links between ghost cluster tilting theory and $τ$-tilting theory: Inspired by the work of Iyama, Jørgensen and Yang \cite{ijy}, we introduce the notion of $τ$-tilting subcategories and tilting subcategories of $\mod\T$. We show that there exists a bijection between weak $\T[1]$-cluster tilting subcategories of $\C$ and support $τ$-tilting subcategories of $\mod\T$. Moreover, we figure out the subcategories of $\mod\T$ which correspond to cluster tilting subcategories of $\C$. This generalizes and improves several results by Adachi-Iyama-Reiten \cite{AIR}, Beligiannis \cite{Be2}, and Yang-Zhu \cite{YZ}. Finally, we prove that the definition of ghost cluster tilting objects is equivalent to the definition of relative cluster tilting objects introduced by the first and the third author in \cite{YZ}.

Naturalness and a light $Z'$

Models with a light, additional gauge boson are attractive extensions of the standard model. Often these models are only considered as effective low energy theory without any assumption about an UV completion. This leaves not only the hierarchy problem of the SM unsolved, but introduces a copy of it because of the new fundamental scalars responsible for breaking the new gauge group. A possible solution is to embed these models into a supersymmetric framework. However, this gives rise to an additional source of fine-tuning compared to the MSSM and poses the question how natural such a setup is. One might expect that the additional fine-tuning is huge, namely, $O(M^2_{\rm SUSY}/m^2_{Z'})$. In this paper we point out that this is not necessarily the case. We show that it is possible to find a focus point behaviour also in the new sector in co-existence to the MSSM focus point. We call this 'Double Focus Point Supersymmetry'. Moreover, we stress the need for a proper inclusion of radiative corrections in the fine-tuning calculation: a tree-level estimate would lead to predictions for the tuning which can be wrong by many orders of magnitude. As showcase, we use the $U(1)_{B-L}$ extended MSSM and discuss possible consequence of the observed $^8\textrm{Be}$ anomaly. However, similar features are expected for other models with an extended gauge group which involve potentially large Yukawa-like interactions of the new scalars.

Mutation of torsion pairs in triangulated categories and its geometric realization

We introduce and study mutation of torsion pairs, as a generalization of mutation of cluster tilting objects, rigid objects and maximal rigid objects. It is proved that any mutation of a torsion pair is again a torsion pair. A geometric realization of mutation of torsion pairs in the cluster category of type $A_n$ or $A_{\infty}$ is given via rotation of Ptolemy diagrams.

PMU Assisted Power System Parameter Calibration at Jiangsu Electric Power Company

An online PMU-assisted Power System Parameter Calibration System (PSPCS) was recently developed and implemented at State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Company (JEPC). PSPCS leverages high-resolution PMU data and data mining techniques to perform online screening of the EMS and Production Management System (PMS) databases for data cleaning, model validation, and parameter calibration. PSPCS calculates transmission line and generator parameters on a regular real-time basis and compares the results with databases to identify record(s) with significant discrepancy, if any. Once consistent discrepancy is observed, the system will raise a flag and further investigation will be initiated, including a novel density-based spatial clustering procedure for parameter/data calibration. A novel metric is proposed to quantify the credibility of PMU-based parameter identification. This paper discusses the proposed methodologies, challenges, as well as implementation issues identified during the development and deployment of PSPCS.

Hybrid Anomaly and Gravity Mediation for Electroweak Supersymmetry

We propose a hybrid mediation and hybrid supersymmetry breaking. In particular the RG-invariant anomaly mediation is considered. Together with additional gravity mediation the slepton tachyon problem of anomaly mediation is solved automatically. The special properties are that all of color sparticles masses fall into several TeV region due to the large $m_0$ and $m_{32}$ which are well beyond the scope of current LHC Run II limits. Unlike the gauge mediation, the dark matter candidate is still the lightest neutralino and the correct dark matter relic density can be realized within the framework of mixed axion-wino dark matter. Due to the existence of multi-component of axion-wino dark matter, the direct detection cross section is suppressed to evade the tightest LUX, PandaX bound. Furthermore the fine-tuning is under control when the single scale supersymmetry breaking mechanism is adapted.

Cotorsion pairs in cluster categories of type $A_{\infty}^{\infty}$

In this paper, we give a complete classification of cotorsion pairs in a cluster category $\mathscr{C}$ of type $A^\infty_\infty$ via certain configurations of arcs, called $τ$-compact Ptolemy diagrams, in an infinite strip with marked points. As applications, we classify $t$-structures and functorially finite rigid subcategories in $\mathscr{C}$, respectively. We also deduce Liu-Paquette's classification of cluster tilting categories of $\mathscr{C}$ and Ng's classification of torsion pairs in the cluster category of type $A_\infty$.

Natural Supersymmetry from the Yukawa Deflect Mediations

The natural supersymmetry (SUSY) requires light stop quarks, light sbottom quark, and gluino to be around one TeV or lighter. The first generation squarks can be effectively large which does not introduce any hierarchy problem in order to escape the constraints from LHC. In this paper we consider a Yukawa deflect medation to realize the effective natural supersymmetry where the interaction between squarks and messenger are made natural under certain Frogget-Nelson $U(1)_X$ charge. The first generation squarks obtain large and postive contribution from the yukawa deflect mediation. The corresponding phenomenology as well as sparticle spectrum are discussed in detail.

Higgs Mass and Muon $g-2$ Anomaly in MSSM with Gauge-Gravity hybrid Mediation

In general, we can propose the hybrid supersymmetry breakings and hybrid mediations in the Supersymmetric Standard Models (SSMs). In this paper, we study the hybrid mediation for supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking. In particular, we study how to keep the good properties of gravity mediation, gauge mediation, and anomaly mediation, while solve their problems simultaneously. As an example, we consider the anomaly-gravity mediation, where all the supersymmetric particles (sparticles) obtain the SUSY breaking soft terms from the traditional gravity mediation while gauge mediation gives dominant contributions to the soft terms in the colored sector due to the splitted messengers. Thus, we can realize the electroweak supersymmetry naturally where the sleptons, sneutrinos, and electroweakinos are light within one TeV while the squarks and gluino are heavy around a few TeVs. And then we can explain 125 GeV Higgs mass, satisfy the LHC SUSY search bounds, and explain the anomalous magnetic momement of muon, etc. Moreover, the gluino and squarks are well beyond the current LHC Run II searches.

Relative cluster tilting objects in triangulated categories

Assume that $\D$ is a Krull-Schmidt, Hom-finite triangulated category with a Serre functor and a cluster-tilting object $T$. We introduce the notion of relative cluster tilting objects, and $T[1]$-cluster tilting objects in $\D$, which are a generalization of cluster-tilting objects. When $\D$ is $2$-Calabi-Yau, the relative cluster tilting objects are cluster-tilting. Let $\la={\rm End}^{op}_{\D}(T)$ be the opposite algebra of the endomorphism algebra of $T$. We show that there exists a bijection between $T[1]$-cluster tilting objects in $\D$ and support $τ$-tilting $\la$-modules, which generalizes a result of Adachi-Iyama-Reiten \cite{AIR}. We develop a basic theory on $T[1]$-cluster tilting objects. In particular, we introduce a partial order on the set of $T[1]$-cluster tilting objects and mutation of $T[1]$-cluster tilting objects, which can be regarded as a generalization of `cluster-tilting mutation'. As an application, we give a partial answer to a question posed in \cite{AIR}.

Torsion pairs in finite $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories with maximal rigid objects

We give a complete classification of (co)torsion pairs in finite $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories with maximal rigid objects which are not cluster tilting. These finite $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories are divided into two main classes: one denoted by $\mathcal{A}_{n,t}$ called of type $A$, and the other denoted by $D_{n,t}$ called of type $D$. By using the geometric model of cluster categories of type $A, $ or type $D$, we give a geometric description of (co)torsion pairs in $\mathcal{A}_{n,t}$ or $D_{n,t}$ respectively, via defining the periodic Ptolemy diagrams. This allows to count the number of (co)torsion pairs in these categories. Finally, we determine the hearts of (co)torsion pairs in all finite $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories with maximal rigid objects which are not cluster tilting via quivers and relations.

A New Algorithm for Circulant Rational Covariance Extension and Applications to Finite-interval Smoothing

The partial stochastic realization of periodic processes from finite covariance data has recently been solved by Lindquist and Picci based on convex optimization of a generalized entropy functional. The meaning and the role of this criterion have an unclear origin. In this paper we propose a solution based on a nonlinear generalization of the classical Yule-Walker type equations and on a new iterative algorithm which is shown to converge to the same (unique) solution of the variational problem. This provides a conceptual link to the variational principles and at the same time yields a robust algorithm which can for example be successfully applied to finite-interval smoothing problems providing a simpler procedure if compared with the classical Riccati-based calculations.

Triangulated quotient categories revisited

Extriangulated categories were introduced by Nakaoka and Palu by extracting the similarities between exact categories and triangulated categories. A notion of mutation of subcategories in an extriangulated category is defined in this article. Let $\cal A$ be an extension closed subcategory of an extriangulated category $\cal C$. Then the quotient category $\cal M:=\cal{A}/\cal{X}$ carries naturally a triangulated structure whenever $(\cal A,\cal A)$ forms an $\cal X$-mutation pair. This result unifies many previous constructions of triangulated quotient categories, and using it gives a classification of thick triangulated subcategories of pretriangulated category $\cal{C}/\cal{X}$, where $\cal X$ is functorially finite in $\cal C$. When $\cal C$ has Auslander-Reiten translation $τ$, we prove that for a functorially finite subcategory $\cal X$ of $\cal C$ containing projectives and injectives, $\cal{C}/\cal{X}$ is a triangulated category if and only if $(\cal C,\cal C)$ is $\cal X-$mutation if and only if $τ\underline{\cal X}=\bar{\cal X}.$ This generalizes a result by Jørgensen who proved the equivalence between the first and the third conditions for triangulated categories. Furthermore, we show that for such a subcategory $\cal X$ of the extriangulated category $\cal C$, $\cal C$ admits a new extriangulated structure such that $\cal C$ is a Frobenius extriangulated category. Applications to exact categories and triangulated categories are given. From the applications we present examples that extriangulated categories are neither exact categories nor triangulated categories.

Interpreting $750$ GeV Diphoton Excess with R-parity Violating Supersymmetry

We propose an supersymmetric explanation of the diphoton excess in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with the leptonic R-parity violation. Where the sneutrino serves as the 750 GeV resonance and produced through quark anti-quark annihilation. With introducing appropriate trilinear soft parameters, we show that the diphoton branching ratio is significantly enhanced compared with the conventional MSSM. The parameter space favored by diphoton excess strongly indicates the mass of smuon and stau fall into the range $375-410$ (375-480) GeV, which depending on the electroweakino masses. In addition, the $R$-parity-violating trilinear couplings involved with second generation quarks are both favored by compatibility of diphoton excess and low-energy constraints.

Supersoft Supersymmetry, Conformal Sequestering, and Single Scale Supersymmetry Breaking

Supersymmetric Standard Models (SSMs) with Dirac gauginos have the appealing supersoft property that they only cause finite contributions to scalar masses. Considering gauge mediated SUSY breaking with conformal sequestering and assuming there is one and only one fundamental parameter with dimension mass arising from supersymmetry breaking, we find a cancellation between the dominant terms that contribute to the EWFT. The resulting EWFT measure can be of order one even for supersymmetric particle masses and $μ$-terms in the TeV range.

Universal entropy relations: entropy formulae and entropy bound

We survey the applications of universal entropy relations in black holes with multi-horizons. In sharp distinction to conventional entropy product, the entropy relationship here not only improve our understanding of black hole entropy but was introduced as an elegant technique trick for handling various entropy bounds and sum. Despite the primarily technique role, entropy relations have provided considerable insight into several different types of gravity, including massive gravity, Einstein-Dilaton gravity and Horava-Lifshitz gravity. We present and discuss the results for each one.
