Symmetry-Selective Strain Control of Anisotropic Magnetic Response in a Silicon FinFET Double Quantum Dot

Strain naturally develops in three-dimensional quantum-dot structures such as silicon FinFETs during fabrication and cooling. Such strain becomes especially important in a double quantum dot, because the two dots can experience different local strain and therefore acquire different magnetic responses. To understand how this dot-to-dot strain difference affects coupled hole spins, we theoretically study the local \(g\) tensors of a silicon FinFET double quantum dot by combining a three-dimensional Poisson--Schr\"odinger calculation based on a six-band \(k\!\cdot\!p\) model with configuration interaction. We find that the effect of strain depends on both its tensor component and its spatial symmetry. For the diagonal components \(\epsilon_{yy}\) and \(\epsilon_{zz}\), strain mainly changes the principal \(g\) values, with only a small opening of the maximum-response axes. In contrast, the shear component \(\epsilon_{yz}\) can also change the orientation of the local magnetic response. When the strain profile preserves the transverse mirror symmetry, the shear-induced rotation is strongly suppressed. Breaking this local constraint permits a pronounced off-diagonal response and rotates the principal magnetic axes. The same component- and symmetry-selected trends appear in a Zeeman-only calculation, showing that the valence-band Zeeman coupling is sufficient to generate them, while the full Hamiltonian determines their quantitative expression. Together, these results show how the tensor component and spatial symmetry of strain can be used to control both the magnitude and orientation of the magnetic response in coupled hole-spin qubits.

A 160 {\deg} x 160 {\deg} Dynamic Holographic Meta-Projector

Holography can reconstruct immersive light fields for virtual and augmented reality by modulating optical wavefront. Due to huge pixel sizes, current spatial light modulators (SLMs) have small field-of-view (FOV) for holographic displays. Despite various methods for etendue expansion, the largest full-screen FOV for dynamic holography is only 70 {\deg} X 70 {\deg}, which remains insufficient for large-scale, high-resolution, three-dimensional displays. Here, we report a pixel-interpolation-assisted holographic meta-projector that substantially expands the FOV by integrating multiple subwavelength metasurface pixels within each microscale pixel of a traditional SLM. Leveraging large-angle diffraction of the metasurface and implementing k-space distortion correction for ultra-wide angles, we experimentally demonstrate dynamic holographic image reconstruction with a FOV of 160 {\deg} X 160 {\deg} -equivalent to a system numerical aperture of 0.985-at a high framerate of 60 Hz, surpassing the temporal resolution threshold of human vision. This system represents the state-of-the-art near-full-screen holographic dynamic display, thereby opening the door to high-dynamic-range and large-FOV holographic displays.

Unconditionally optimal error Estimate of a linearized Second-order Fully Discrete Finite Element Method for the bioconvection flows with concentration dependent viscosity

In this paper, the coupled and decoupled BDF2 finite element discrete schemes are obtained for the time-dependent bioconvection flows problem with concentration dependent viscosity, which consisting of the Navier-Stokes equation coupled with a linear convection-diffusion equation modeling the concentration of microorganisms in a culture fluid. The unconditionally optimal error estimate for the velocity and concentration in $L^2$-norm and $H^1$-norm are proved by using finite element approximations in space and finite differences in time. Finally, the numerical results for different viscosity are showed to support the theoretical analysis.

Stock and market index prediction using Informer network

Applications of deep learning in financial market prediction has attracted huge attention from investors and researchers. In particular, intra-day prediction at the minute scale, the dramatically fluctuating volume and stock prices within short time periods have posed a great challenge for the convergence of networks result. Informer is a more novel network, improved on Transformer with smaller computational complexity, longer prediction length and global time stamp features. We have designed three experiments to compare Informer with the commonly used networks LSTM, Transformer and BERT on 1-minute and 5-minute frequencies for four different stocks/ market indices. The prediction results are measured by three evaluation criteria: MAE, RMSE and MAPE. Informer has obtained best performance among all the networks on every dataset. Network without the global time stamp mechanism has significantly lower prediction effect compared to the complete Informer; it is evident that this mechanism grants the time series to the characteristics and substantially improves the prediction accuracy of the networks. Finally, transfer learning capability experiment is conducted, Informer also achieves a good performance. Informer has good robustness and improved performance in market prediction, which can be exactly adapted to real trading.
