Reconstruct the ambient noise source from the multi-frequency sparse correlation data

In this paper, we develop a novel multi-frequency factorization method to reconstruct the spatial support of the ambient noise source. The proposed method only requires sparse correlation data and has low computational cost. Numerical experiments in two and three dimensions are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

DualBrep: A Dual-Field Continuous Representation for B-rep Modelling

Boundary Representation (B-rep) is the most commonly used data format in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) due to its analytical precision and direct support for parametric editing. However, its heterogeneous structure--continuous parametric geometry combined with discrete topological graphs--poses fundamental challenges for deep learning. Existing methods often predict the heterogeneous B-rep graph directly, using fixed-size padding or sequential tokenization to handle varying primitive counts. These approaches struggle with the combinatorial complexity of CAD models. Furthermore, the discrete, non-differentiable nature of graph data prevents end-to-end optimization of geometry and watertightness. In this work, we introduce DualBrep, a novel continuous representation that unifies B-rep geometry and topology within a fully structured Euclidean domain. DualBrep encodes a CAD model using dual scalar fields: a Signed Distance Function (SDF) representing global shape geometry, and an Unsigned Distance Field (UDF) implicitly encoding topological structure via a Voronoi partitioning of surface elements. Rather than processing these fields independently, we compress them into a single latent space. While the dual-field formulation alone provides a flexible, primitive-free segmentation signal that adapts to arbitrary face counts and surface types, the shared latent makes generation tractable. A Flow Matching model can sample geometry and topology jointly from a single code, avoiding the error accumulation that plagues sequential B-rep predictors. Finally, a neural rebuilder extracts explicit B-rep models--comprising both prismatic and free-form primitives--directly from our continuous dual fields. We demonstrate that DualBrep is a robust backbone for CAD learning, achieving strong performance in point cloud reverse engineering and generative modeling via latent flow matching.

When Not to Write Memory: Governing False Promotion from Correlated Agent Traces

Long-lived language agents increasingly write reusable memories from their own execution traces. The key safety question is not only what agents should remember, but when they should refuse to write memory at all. Repeated observations across agents are not necessarily independent evidence: the same claim may be copied from a shared source, induced by a shared prompt, stale under a new environment, or valid only in a narrower scope. We study this failure mode as a memory writepath governance problem. We introduce GovMem as a conservative diagnostic reference policy that estimates dependency-aware support, retrieves counterevidence, assigns scope, and outputs one of three decisions: promote, reject, or needs-review. In controlled synthetic stress tests, GovMem reduces false promotion from 0.597 to 0.040 in the default setting while preserving 0.960 recall, at an explicit review burden. In a project-internal 120candidate human-labeled real-trace subset spanning 79 recorded traces and project reports, dependency-aware promotion reduces false promotion from 0.371 for source+scope to 0.032 overall, but held-out false promotion remains 0.111 and the method is highly conservative, with 0.692 review burden and 0.448 direct recall. A final human adjudication of 133 high-impact external codingagent candidates is more severe: none are safe for automatic promotion, and all 11 verification-gate positives are rejected as boilerplate, shared-tool artifacts, file dumps, or non-reusable debugging traces. These results support GovMem primarily as a diagnostic governance design point, not as a generally validated or efficient automatic memory writer: agent memory write paths should be evaluated as risk-controlled evidence-governance systems, while broader external coverage and downstream harm evidence are still needed before stronger claims.

Not All Points Are Equal: Uncertainty-Aware 4D LiDAR Scene Synthesis

Constructing faithful 4D worlds from LiDAR-acquired sequences is crucial for embodied AI, yet current generative frameworks apply uniform modeling capacity across all spatial regions. This ignores that perceptual difficulty varies dramatically within a single scan: distant surfaces, occluded boundaries, and small-scale objects carry far higher uncertainty than well-observed structures. We present U4D, a new framework that explicitly leverages spatial uncertainty to guide LiDAR scene generation in a "hard-to-easy" schedule. U4D derives per-point uncertainty maps via Shannon Entropy from a pretrained segmentor, then applies an unconditional diffusion stage to synthesize high-entropy areas with precise geometry, followed by a conditional completion stage that fills in the remaining regions using these structures as priors. A MoST (Mixture of Spatio-Temporal) block further maintains cross-frame coherence by dynamically balancing spatial detail and temporal continuity. Extensive experiments on nuScenes and SemanticKITTI demonstrate state-of-the-art scene fidelity, temporal consistency, and downstream performance.

Healthcare Mechanisms from Policy-as-Code Search under Strategic Provider Response

Healthcare mechanisms are inseparable from the strategic provider response they induce: existing healthcare AI benchmarks hold this response fixed and so cannot evaluate mechanisms by the equilibrium they produce. We recast hospital mechanism design as program synthesis for language models: typed, inspectable rule programs are executed and scored by Medi-Sim, a multi-agent simulator with five strategic provider channels (coding, selection, delay, effort, triage). An incentive sweep recovers classical health-economics findings as adjacent regimes -- up-coding and low-complexity-patient selection under profit pressure, and Goodhart-style drift where measured performance becomes anti-correlated with true outcomes -- and a single audit lever exposes pressure migration: closing the coding channel more than doubles low-complexity selection. LLM-guided evolutionary code search over the same rule-program space then synthesizes an inspectable mixed-objective program that eliminates up-coding, halves rejection, and retains most of the profit-oriented baseline's funds.

Gauge symmetry and uniqueness in inverse problems for the JMGT equation

In this paper, we study an inverse boundary value problem for the Jordan--Moore--Gibson--Thompson equation on a simple Riemannian manifold. We consider an all boundary measurement map that maps Dirichlet boundary data and initial data to the corresponding Neumann-type boundary data and final-time data. Our main result shows that the nonlinear acoustic coefficient $β$ is uniquely determined by this measurement map, and the linear damping coefficients $α$ and $q$, along with the internal source term $F$, can be recovered up to a gauge symmetry. As a corollary, we also establish a specific case in which all coefficients are uniquely recovered. The proof relies on the method of first-order and second-order linearization and on the construction of geometric optics solutions. In the intermediate step, we establish the unique recovery of the lower-order coefficients in the linearized MGT equation.

MambaRain: Multi-Scale Mamba-Attention Framework for 0-3 Hour Precipitation Nowcasting

Accurate precipitation nowcasting over extended horizons (0-3 hours) is essential for disaster mitigation and operational decision-making, yet remains a critical challenge in the field. Existing deterministic approaches are predominantly constrained to shorter prediction windows (0-2 hours), exhibiting severe performance degradation beyond 90 minutes owing to their inherent difficulty in capturing long-range spatiotemporal dependencies from radar-derived observations. To address these fundamental limitations, we propose MambaRain, a novel multi-scale encoder-decoder architecture that synergistically integrates Mamba's linear-complexity long-range temporal modeling with self-attention mechanisms for explicit spatial correlation capture. The core innovation lies in a hybrid design paradigm wherein Mamba blocks leverage selective state space mechanisms to model global temporal dynamics across extended sequences with computational efficiency, while self-attention modules explicitly characterize spatial correlations within precipitation fields - a capability inherently absent in Mamba's sequential processing paradigm. This complementary synergy enables comprehensive spatiotemporal representation learning, effectively extending the viable forecasting horizon to 2-3 hours with substantial accuracy improvements. Furthermore, we introduce a spectral loss formulation to mitigate blurring artifacts characteristic of chaotic precipitation systems, thereby preserving fine-scale motion details critical for nowcasting accuracy. Experimental validation demonstrates that MambaRain substantially outperforms existing deterministic methodologies in 0-3 hour nowcasting tasks, with particularly pronounced performance gains in the challenging 2-3 hour prediction range.

OmniLiDAR: A Unified Diffusion Framework for Multi-Domain 3D LiDAR Generation

LiDAR scene generation is increasingly important for scalable simulation and synthetic data creation, especially under diverse sensing conditions that are costly to capture at scale. Typically, diffusion-based LiDAR generators are developed under single-domain settings, requiring separate models for different datasets or sensing conditions and hindering unified, controllable synthesis under heterogeneous distribution shifts. To this end, we present OmniLiDAR, a unified text-conditioned diffusion framework that generates LiDAR scans in a shared range-image representation across eight representative domains spanning three shift types: adverse weather, sensor-configuration changes (e.g., reduced beams), and cross-platform acquisition (vehicle, drone, and quadruped). To enable training a single model over heterogeneous domains without isolating optimization by domain, we introduce a Cross-Domain Training Strategy (CDTS) that mixes domains within each mini-batch and leverages conditioning to steer generation. We further propose Cross-Domain Feature Modeling (CDFM), which captures directional dependencies along azimuth and elevation axes to reflect the anisotropic scanning structure of range images, and Domain-Adaptive Feature Scaling (DAFS) as a lightweight modulation to account for structured domain-dependent feature shifts during denoising. In the absence of a public consolidated benchmark, we construct an 8-domain dataset by combining real-world scans with physically based weather simulation and systematic beam reduction while following official splits. Extensive experiments demonstrate strong generation fidelity and consistent gains in downstream use cases, including generative data augmentation for LiDAR semantic segmentation and 3D object detection, as well as robustness evaluation under corruptions, with consistent benefits in limited-label regimes.

MAS-Algorithm: A Workflow for Solving Algorithmic Programming Problems with a Multi-Agent System

Algorithmic problem solving serves as a rigorous testbed for evaluating structured reasoning in AI coding systems, as it directly reflects a model's ability to perform structured reasoning in complex scenarios. Existing approaches predominantly rely on model-centric strategies, such as architectural modifications and data scaling, which are costly and offer limited interpretability. Alternative methods leveraging external tools or prompting techniques (e.g., chain-of-thought) are often fragmented and lack a unified framework. In this paper, we propose MAS-Algorithm, a systematic multi-agent workflow for algorithmic problem solving inspired by the practices of competitive programmers and algorithm engineers. Our framework decomposes the end-to-end solving process into modular stages, enabling structured reasoning, tool integration, and flexible coordination among agents. The design emphasizes both rigor and extensibility, allowing it to generalize across diverse problem types. Experimental results on a self-constructed benchmark demonstrate consistent improvements across multiple Qwen series models, achieving an average gain of 6.48% in acceptance rate. In contrast, parameter-efficient fine-tuning on the same data yields only a marginal improvement of 0.89%. We further observe a 4.72% gain on LiveCodeBench-Pro, along with consistent improvements across additional accuracy and efficiency metrics. Beyond performance gains, we conduct comprehensive analyses to better understand the reasoning process within the workflow, including error patterns and cross-scenario behaviors. We further perform customized replacement and ablation studies to explore the upper bound of the framework, showing that individual agents can contribute improvements of up to 27.7%. These results highlight the strong potential of MAS-Algorithm for advancing AI-driven algorithmic reasoning.

Temperature dependence of the Gibbs energies of formation of point defects in B2 MoTa from ab initio calculations

Using B2 MoTa, the strongest B2 former among group V/VI refractory binaries, as a model system, we compute temperature-dependent Gibbs energies of formation of vacancies and antisites from ab initio calculations up to 3000 K at the stoichiometric composition. We explicitly account for thermal electronic excitations, vibrational anharmonicity, and electron-vibration coupling. The key finding is that the temperature dependence of the Gibbs energies of vacancy formation exhibits a pronounced sublattice asymmetry. Specifically, the Gibbs energy of formation of a Mo-site vacancy decreases by 1.1 eV from 0 to 3000 K, whereas the decrease for a Ta-site vacancy amounts to 2.1 eV, almost a factor of two larger. Two contributions of distinct origin govern the temperature dependence of this asymmetry: a quasiharmonic contribution associated with the chemical-potential imbalance set by the two antisite structures and an anharmonic contribution associated with the local vibrational response of the vacancy structures. The asymmetry in anharmonic vibrations is traced back to an enlarged local vibrational distribution of the first-nearest neighbors around the Ta-site vacancy. In contrast to the vacancies, the Gibbs energies of antisite formation vary only weakly with temperature.

When Corrective Hints Hurt: Prompt Design in Reasoner-Guided Repair of LLM Overcaution on Entailed Negations under OWL~2~DL

We report a reproducible error pattern in GPT-5.4 on OWL~2~DL compliance queries: the model frequently answers ``unknown'' when the reasoner-entailed answer is ``no'' under \emph{FunctionalProperty} closure or class \emph{disjointness}. Using 180 reasoner-audited queries from a procedural expansion of the observed pattern plus 18 hand-authored held-out queries in two unrelated domains (insurance and clinical), we compare four interaction modes under matched query budget: single-shot, three rounds of generic ``you-are-wrong'' retry, three rounds of reasoner-verdict repair with an open-world-assumption (OWA) hint, and the same repair without the hint. Direct faithfulness is 43.9\,\% (Wilson 95\,\% CI $[36.8,51.2]$); generic retry reaches 81.7\,\% ($[75.4,86.6]$); the verdict-with-hint variant is \emph{worse} at 67.2\,\% ($[60.1,73.7]$); the verdict-only variant reaches 97.8\,\% ($[94.4,99.1]$). All pairwise comparisons remain significant under McNemar's exact test with Bonferroni correction ($α= 0.01$; all $p < 10^{-5}$). The same fingerprint accounts for 4/4 errors on the held-out queries. Our interpretation is bounded: prompt framing can matter more than corrective content, and reasoner-guided wrappers should be ablated explicitly.

Inverse boundary value problems of determining nonlinear coefficients for the JMGT equation

We consider inverse boundary value problems for the Jordan-Moore-Gibson-Thompson (JMGT) equation in nonlinear acoustics with quadratic nonlinearities of Kuznetsov-type and Westervelt-type. We show that the associated boundary Dirichlet-to-Neumann map uniquely determines the nonlinear coefficients $β$ in the Westervelt-type model, and the pair $(β,κ)$ in the Kuznetsov-type model, provided that the observation time is greater than the maximal boundary-to-boundary geodesic travel time. The results are obtained in both the Euclidean setting and on compact Riemannian manifolds with proper geometric assumptions. The proof is based on the idea of second order linearization combined with the construction of geometric optics and Gaussian beam solutions, reducing the inverse problem of uniqueness to the injectivity of associated geodesic ray transforms.

Strain-released epitaxy of GaN enabled by compliant single-crystalline metal foils

Heteroepitaxy conventionally relies on rigid crystalline substrates, implicitly assuming that lattice and thermal mismatch must be accommodated within the epitaxial layer, leading to residual strain and defects that worsen with increasing substrate size. Here we demonstrate a substrate-mediated strain-partitioning regime in which lattice and thermal mismatch are preferentially partitioned into the substrate rather than stored in the epitaxial layer. We report the epitaxial growth of single-crystalline GaN on mechanically compliant yet crystallographically ordered single-crystalline copper foils. Atomic-resolution microscopy, geometric phase analysis and density functional theory reveal that mismatch-induced stress is primarily screened by elastic deformation of the Cu lattice, accompanied by localized interfacial slip confined to a few atomic layers, leaving the AlN and GaN epilayers nearly strain-free despite large nominal mismatch. Leveraging this strain-released epitaxial platform, we further demonstrate dense GaN micro-light-emitting diode arrays that benefit from efficient vertical electrical conduction and thermal dissipation enabled by the metallic substrate. By establishing compliant single-crystal metal foils as a new substrate class, this work identifies mechanical contrast as an underexplored governing parameter in heteroepitaxial design, with implications extending beyond GaN.

U4D: Uncertainty-Aware 4D World Modeling from LiDAR Sequences

Modeling dynamic 3D environments from LiDAR sequences is central to building reliable 4D worlds for autonomous driving and embodied AI. Existing generative frameworks, however, often treat all spatial regions uniformly, overlooking the varying uncertainty across real-world scenes. This uniform generation leads to artifacts in complex or ambiguous regions, limiting realism and temporal stability. In this work, we present U4D, an uncertainty-aware framework for 4D LiDAR world modeling. Our approach first estimates spatial uncertainty maps from a pretrained segmentation model to localize semantically challenging regions. It then performs generation in a "hard-to-easy" manner through two sequential stages: (1) uncertainty-region modeling, which reconstructs high-entropy regions with fine geometric fidelity, and (2) uncertainty-conditioned completion, which synthesizes the remaining areas under learned structural priors. To further ensure temporal coherence, U4D incorporates a mixture of spatio-temporal (MoST) block that adaptively fuses spatial and temporal representations during diffusion. Extensive experiments show that U4D produces geometrically faithful and temporally consistent LiDAR sequences, advancing the reliability of 4D world modeling for autonomous perception and simulation.

Mechanically Assisted Symmetry Reconstruction for Extraordinary Piezoelectricity

Active symmetry control - a central challenge in materials science, particularly in ferroelectrics - is achieved via mechanically assisted poling (MAP) guided by thermodynamics and phase - field modeling. This approach yields extraordinary piezoelectric coefficients (about 5,000 pC/N at 24 degC; 11,700 pC/N at 58 degC) together with about 65% optical transmittance in a classic relaxor ferroelectric, Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3. Mechanical suppression of undesirable phases stabilizes a reconstructed symmetry with highly ordered domains, verified by multiple characterization techniques. The strategy is validated across several distinct ferroelectric systems. To demonstrate its practical utility, we fabricate a transparent dual-modal wearable sensor integrating continuous blood pressure monitoring via piezoelectricity with photoplethysmographic SpO2 detection, enabling high-fidelity physiological tracking. This work establishes mechanically assisted symmetry reconstruction as a pathway to multifunctional optoelectronic materials and compact wearable health technologies.

Decoupling Vision and Language: Codebook Anchored Visual Adaptation

Large Vision-Language Models (LVLMs) use their vision encoders to translate images into representations for downstream reasoning, but the encoders often underperform in domain-specific visual tasks such as medical image diagnosis or fine-grained classification, where representation errors can cascade through the language model, leading to incorrect responses. Existing adaptation methods modify the continuous feature interface between encoder and language model through projector tuning or other parameter-efficient updates, which still couples the two components and requires re-alignment whenever the encoder changes. We introduce CRAFT (Codebook RegulAted Fine-Tuning), a lightweight method that fine-tunes the encoder using a discrete codebook that anchors visual representations to a stable token space, achieving domain adaptation without modifying other parts of the model. This decoupled design allows the adapted encoder to seamlessly boost the performance of LVLMs with different language architectures, as long as they share the same codebook. Empirically, CRAFT achieves an average gain of 13.51% across 10 domain-specific benchmarks such as VQARAD and PlantVillage, while preserving the LLM's linguistic capabilities and outperforming peer methods that operate on continuous tokens.

Scalable Solar-Blind Imaging Enabled by Single-Crystalline Beta-Ga2O3 Membranes on Silicon Backplanes

Ultrawide-bandgap semiconductors are attractive for solar-blind ultraviolet (UV) detection owing to their intrinsically low noise and high spectral selectivity, yet their deployment in large-area, high-density electronic imaging systems remains limited by a fundamental trade-off between material quality, device speed, and compatibility with high-density planar silicon readout circuits. Here, we report a membrane-enabled integration platform based on transferable single-crystalline beta-Ga2O3 that overcomes these constraints at the system level. By exploiting the weak interplanar bonding of beta-Ga2O3 (100) plane, we obtain wafer-scale freestanding single-crystalline membranes that enable vertically integrated photodiodes with sub-microsecond, non-persistent photoresponse and high UV-visible rejection. Crucially, we introduce a stitching-based membrane assembly strategy that decouples array resolution from the size of the source single-crystalline substrate, allowing high-resolution photodetector arrays to be integrated onto silicon thin-film-transistor backplanes. The modular assembled active-matrix UV imaging arrays exhibit uniform solar-blind response without image lag, in stark contrast to arrays based on amorphous or polycrystalline films. Beyond beta-Ga2O3, this membrane-enabled and stitching-based modular integration strategy provides a general route toward high-speed, high-resolution electronic imaging systems using transferable single-crystalline semiconductors.

Inverse acoustic scattering for random obstacles with multi-frequency data

We study an inverse random obstacle scattering problems in $\mathbb{R}^2$ where the scatterer is formulated by a Gaussian process defined on the angular parameter domain. Equipped with a modified covariance function which is mathematically well-defined and physically consistent, the Gaussian process admits a parameterization via Karhunen--Loève (KL) expansion. Based on observed multi-frequency data, we develop a two-stage inversion method: the first stage reconstructs the baseline shape of the random scatterer and the second stage estimates the statistical characteristics of the boundary fluctuations, including KL eigenvalues and covariance hyperparameters. We further provide theoretical justifications for the modeling and inversion pipeline, covering well-definedness of the Gaussian-process model, convergence for the two-stage procedure and a brief discussion on uniqueness. Numerical experiments demonstrate stable recovery of both geometric and statistical information for obstacles with simple and more complex shapes.
