Normal complex symmetric weighted composition operators on the Hardy space

In this paper, we investigate the normal weighed composition operators $W_{ψ,φ}$ which is $\mathcal{J}-$symmetric, $\mathcal{C}_1-$symmetric and $\mathcal{C}_2-$symmetric on the Hardy space $H^2(\mathbb{D})$ respectively. Firstly, equivalent conditions of the normality of $\mathcal{C}_1-$symmetric and $\mathcal{C}_2-$symmetric weighted composition operators on $H^2(\mathbb{D})$ is given. Furthermore, the normal $\mathcal{J}-$symmetric, $\mathcal{C}_1-$symmetric and $\mathcal{C}_2-$symmetric weighted composition operators on $H^2(\mathbb{D})$ when $φ$ has an interior fixed point, $φ$ is of hyperbolic type or parabolic type are respectively investigated.

Analysis of $CP$ violation in $ D^0 \to K^+ K^- π^0 $

We study the $\mathit{CP}$ violation induced by the interference between two intermediate resonances $K^*(892)^+$ and $K^*(892)^-$ in the phase space of singly-Cabibbo-suppressed decay $D^0 \to K^+K^-π^0$. We adopt the factorization-assisted topological approach in dealing with the decay amplitudes of $D^0 \to K^\pm K^*(892)^\mp$. The $\mathit{CP}$ asymmetries of two-body decays are predicted to be very tiny, which are $(-1.27 \pm 0.25) \times 10^{-5}$ and $(3.86 \pm 0.26) \times 10^{-5}$ respectively for $D^0 \to K^+ K^*(892)^-$ and $D^0 \to K^- K^*(892)^+$. While the differential $\mathit{CP}$ asymmetry of $D^0 \to K^+K^-π^0$ is enhanced because of the interference between the two intermediate resonances, which can reach as large as $3\times10^{-4}$. For some NPs which have considerable impacts on the chromomagnetic dipole operator $O_{8g}$, the global $\mathit{CP}$ asymmetries of $D^0 \to K^+ K^*(892)^- $ and $D^0 \to K^- K^*(892)^+ $ can be then increased to $(0.56\pm0.08)\times10^{-3}$ and $(-0.50\pm0.04)\times10^{-3}$, respectively. The regional $\mathit{CP}$ asymmetry in the overlapped region of the phase space can be as large as $( 1.3\pm 0.3)\times10^{-3}$.

Hierarchical Neural Network Architecture In Keyword Spotting

Keyword Spotting (KWS) provides the start signal of ASR problem, and thus it is essential to ensure a high recall rate. However, its real-time property requires low computation complexity. This contradiction inspires people to find a suitable model which is small enough to perform well in multi environments. To deal with this contradiction, we implement the Hierarchical Neural Network(HNN), which is proved to be effective in many speech recognition problems. HNN outperforms traditional DNN and CNN even though its model size and computation complexity are slightly less. Also, its simple topology structure makes easy to deploy on any device.

Strong Proton-Defect Interaction in Synergistic Irradiation Damage System

We experimentally investigated total ionizing dose (TID) response of the input-stage PNP transitor in an operational amplifier LM324N with various initial displacement damage (IDD). We found that, the damage first decreases and then increases with the total dose, which can be exactly described by a dose-rate-dependent linear generation term, an IDD-dependent linear annealing term, and a dose-rate-dependent exponential annealing term. We demonstrate that, the first two terms are the well-known TID and injection annealing effect, respectively, while the third term stems from the reactions between the TID-induced protons diffusing from silica and the defects generated in silicon, which implies the presence of a unexplored proton-defect interaction between TID and DD effects. Moreover, we find that such an interaction is as strong as the injection annealing. Our work show that, beside the well-known Coulomb interaction of trapping charge in silica with carriers in silicon, a strong proton-defect interaction also plays important role in the synergistic damage.

From high-scale leptogenesis to low-scale one-loop neutrino mass generation

We show that a high-scale leptogenesis can be consistent with a low-scale one-loop neutrino mass generation. Our models are based on the SU(3)_c\times SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y\times U(1)_{B-L} gauge groups. Except a complex singlet scalar for the U(1)_{B-L} symmetry breaking, the other new scalars and fermions (one scalar doublet, two or more real scalar singlets/triplets and three right-handed neutrinos) are odd under an unbroken Z_2 discrete symmetry. The real scalar decays can produce an asymmetry stored in the new scalar doublet which subsequently decays into the standard model lepton doublets and the right-handed neutrinos. The lepton asymmetry in the standard model leptons then can be partially converted to a baryon asymmetry by the sphaleron processes. By integrating out the heavy scalar singlets/triplets, we can realize an effective theory to radiatively generate the small neutrino masses at the TeV scale. Furthermore, the lightest right-handed neutrino can serve as a dark matter candidate.

Non-thermal leptogenesis with distinct CP violation and minimal dark matter

We demonstrate a unified scenario for neutrino mass, baryon asymmetry, dark matter and inflation. In addition to a fermion triplet for the so-called minimal dark matter, we extend the standard model by three heavy fields including a scalar singlet, a fermion triplet and a fermion singlet/Higgs triplet. The heavy scalar singlet, which is expected to drive an inflation, and the dark matter fermion triplet are odd under an unbroken $Z_2^{}$ discrete symmetry, while the other fields are all even. The heavy fermion triplet offers a tree-level type-III seesaw and then mediates a three-body decay of the inflaton into the standard model lepton and Higgs doublets with the dark matter fermion triplet. The heavy fermion singlet/Higgs triplet not only results in a type-I/II seesaw at tree level but also contributes to the inflaton decay at one-loop level. In this scenario, the type-I/II seesaw contains all of the physical CP phases in the lepton sector and hence the CP violation for the non-thermal leptogenesis by the inflaton decay exactly comes from the imaginary part of the neutrino mass matrix.

Optimization of Bootstrapping in Circuits

In 2009, Gentry proposed the first Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) scheme, an extremely powerful cryptographic primitive that enables to perform computations, i.e., to evaluate circuits, on encrypted data without decrypting them first. This has many applications, in particular in cloud computing. In all currently known FHE schemes, encryptions are associated to some (non-negative integer) noise level, and at each evaluation of an AND gate, the noise level increases. This is problematic because decryption can only work if the noise level stays below some maximum level $L$ at every gate of the circuit. To ensure that property, it is possible to perform an operation called \emph{bootstrapping} to reduce the noise level. However, bootstrapping is time-consuming and has been identified as a critical operation. This motivates a new problem in discrete optimization, that of choosing where in the circuit to perform bootstrapping operations so as to control the noise level; the goal is to minimize the number of bootstrappings in circuits. In this paper, we formally define the \emph{bootstrap problem}, we design a polynomial-time $L$-approximation algorithm using a novel method of rounding of a linear program, and we show a matching hardness result: $(L-ε)$-inapproximability for any $ε>0$.

The Cost of Free Spectrum

There has been growing interest in increasing the amount of radio spectrum available for unlicensed broad-band wireless access. That includes "prime" spectrum at lower frequencies, which is also suitable for wide area coverage by licensed cellular providers. While additional unlicensed spectrum would allow for market expansion, it could influence competition among providers and increase congestion (interference) among consumers of wireless services. We study the value (social welfare and consumer surplus) obtained by adding unlicensed spectrum to an existing allocation of licensed spectrum among incumbent service providers. We assume a population of customers who choose a provider based on the minimum delivered price, given by the weighted sum of the price of the service and a congestion cost, which depends on the number of subscribers in a band. We consider models in which this weighting is uniform across the customer population and where the weighting is either high or low, reflecting different sensitivities to latency. For the models considered, we find that the social welfare depends on the amount of additional unlicensed spectrum, and can actually decrease over a significant range of unlicensed bandwidths. Furthermore, with nonuniform weighting, introducing unlicensed spectrum can also reduce consumer welfare.

Near-Linear Query Complexity for Graph Inference

How efficiently can we find an unknown graph using distance or shortest path queries between its vertices? Let $G = (V,E)$ be an unweighted, connected graph of bounded degree. The edge set $E$ is initially unknown, and the graph can be accessed using a \emph{distance oracle}, which receives a pair of vertices $(u,v)$ and returns the distance between $u$ and $v$. In the \emph{verification} problem, we are given a hypothetical graph $\hat G = (V,\hat E)$ and want to check whether $G$ is equal to $\hat G$. We analyze a natural greedy algorithm and prove that it uses $n^{1+o(1)}$ distance queries. In the more difficult \emph{reconstruction} problem, $\hat G$ is not given, and the goal is to find the graph $G$. If the graph can be accessed using a \emph{shortest path oracle}, which returns not just the distance but an actual shortest path between $u$ and $v$, we show that extending the idea of greedy gives a reconstruction algorithm that uses $n^{1+o(1)}$ shortest path queries. When the graph has bounded treewidth, we further bound the query complexity of the greedy algorithms for both problems by $\tilde O(n)$. When the graph is chordal, we provide a randomized algorithm for reconstruction using $\tilde O(n)$ distance queries.

Electron events from the scattering with solar neutrinos in the search of keV scale sterile neutrino dark matter

In a previous work we showed that keV scale sterile neutrino dark matter $ν_s$ is possible to be detected in $β$ decay experiment using radioactive sources such as $^3$T or $^{106}$Ru. The signals of this dark matter candidate are mono-energetic electrons produced in neutrino capture process $ν_s + N' \to N +e^-$. These electrons have energy greater than the maximum energy of the electrons produced in the associated decay process $N' \to N +e^- + {\bar ν}_e$. Hence, signal electron events are well beyond the end point of the $β$ decay spectrum and are not polluted by the $β$ decay process. Another possible background, which is a potential threat to the detection of $ν_s$ dark matter, is the electron event produced by the scattering of solar neutrinos with electrons in target matter. In this article we study in detail this possible background and discuss its implication to the detection of keV scale sterile neutrino dark matter. In particular, bound state features of electrons in Ru atom are considered with care in the scattering process when the kinetic energy of the final electron is the same order of magnitude of the binding energy.

Sublinear-Time Algorithms for Monomer-Dimer Systems on Bounded Degree Graphs

For a graph $G$, let $Z(G,λ)$ be the partition function of the monomer-dimer system defined by $\sum_k m_k(G)λ^k$, where $m_k(G)$ is the number of matchings of size $k$ in $G$. We consider graphs of bounded degree and develop a sublinear-time algorithm for estimating $\log Z(G,λ)$ at an arbitrary value $λ>0$ within additive error $εn$ with high probability. The query complexity of our algorithm does not depend on the size of $G$ and is polynomial in $1/ε$, and we also provide a lower bound quadratic in $1/ε$ for this problem. This is the first analysis of a sublinear-time approximation algorithm for a $# P$-complete problem. Our approach is based on the correlation decay of the Gibbs distribution associated with $Z(G,λ)$. We show that our algorithm approximates the probability for a vertex to be covered by a matching, sampled according to this Gibbs distribution, in a near-optimal sublinear time. We extend our results to approximate the average size and the entropy of such a matching within an additive error with high probability, where again the query complexity is polynomial in $1/ε$ and the lower bound is quadratic in $1/ε$. Our algorithms are simple to implement and of practical use when dealing with massive datasets. Our results extend to other systems where the correlation decay is known to hold as for the independent set problem up to the critical activity.

Graph Reconstruction via Distance Oracles

We study the problem of reconstructing a hidden graph given access to a distance oracle. We design randomized algorithms for the following problems: reconstruction of a degree bounded graph with query complexity $\tilde{O}(n^{3/2})$; reconstruction of a degree bounded outerplanar graph with query complexity $\tilde{O}(n)$; and near-optimal approximate reconstruction of a general graph.

Approximation for Maximum Surjective Constraint Satisfaction Problems

Maximum surjective constraint satisfaction problems (Max-Sur-CSPs) are computational problems where we are given a set of variables denoting values from a finite domain B and a set of constraints on the variables. A solution to such a problem is a surjective mapping from the set of variables to B such that the number of satisfied constraints is maximized. We study the approximation performance that can be acccchieved by algorithms for these problems, mainly by investigating their relation with Max-CSPs (which are the corresponding problems without the surjectivity requirement). Our work gives a complexity dichotomy for Max-Sur-CSP(B) between PTAS and APX-complete, under the assumption that there is a complexity dichotomy for Max-CSP(B) between PO and APX-complete, which has already been proved on the Boolean domain and 3-element domains.
