CSST Slitless Spectra: Target Detection and Classification with YOLO

Addressing the spatial uncertainty and spectral blending challenges in CSST slitless spectroscopy, we present a deep learning-driven, end-to-end framework based on the You Only Look Once (YOLO) models. This approach directly detects, classifies, and analyzes spectral traces from raw 2D images, bypassing traditional, error-accumulating pipelines. YOLOv5 effectively detects both compact zero-order and extended first-order traces even in highly crowded fields. Building on this, YOLO11 integrates source classification (star/galaxy) and discrete astrophysical parameter estimation (e.g., redshift bins), showcasing complete spectral trace analysis without other manual preprocessing. Our framework processes large images rapidly, learning spectral-spatial features holistically to minimize errors. We achieve high trace detection precision (YOLOv5) and demonstrate successful quasar identification and binned redshift estimation (YOLO11). This study establishes machine learning as a paradigm shift in slitless spectroscopy, unifying detection, classification, and preliminary parameter estimation in a scalable system. Future research will concentrate on direct, continuous prediction of astrophysical parameters from raw spectral traces.

Humanoid-inspired Causal Representation Learning for Domain Generalization

This paper proposes the Humanoid-inspired Structural Causal Model (HSCM), a novel causal framework inspired by human intelligence, designed to overcome the limitations of conventional domain generalization models. Unlike approaches that rely on statistics to capture data-label dependencies and learn distortion-invariant representations, HSCM replicates the hierarchical processing and multi-level learning of human vision systems, focusing on modeling fine-grained causal mechanisms. By disentangling and reweighting key image attributes such as color, texture, and shape, HSCM enhances generalization across diverse domains, ensuring robust performance and interpretability. Leveraging the flexibility and adaptability of human intelligence, our approach enables more effective transfer and learning in dynamic, complex environments. Through both theoretical and empirical evaluations, we demonstrate that HSCM outperforms existing domain generalization models, providing a more principled method for capturing causal relationships and improving model robustness. CoNi-MOF laccase-like nanozymes prepared by dielectric barrier discharge plasma for treatment of antibiotic pollution

Laccase is a natural green catalyst and utilized in pollution treatment. Nevertheless, its practical application is constrained by limitations including high cost, poor stability, and difficulties in recovery. Herein, with inspiration from catalytic mechanism of natural laccase, we designed and prepared a bimetallic metal-organic framework, namely, CoNi-MOF, using low-temperature plasma (LTP) technology. We employed dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma to prepare CoNi-MOF, and by precisely modulating the N2/O2 gas ratio, we could modulate the distribution concentration of oxygen vacancies in CoNi-MOF. Experimental investigations and density functional theory (DFT) calculations elucidated that the critical role of the oxygen vacancies in enhancing the laccase-like activity, which promoted the activation of molecular oxygen (O2) for generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Compared to natural laccase, CoNi-MOF exhibited superior catalytic performance in the degradation of antibiotic tetracycline (TC), along with enhanced resistance to harsh environmental conditions, improved stability, and low biotoxicity. Notably, aeration increased the dissolved oxygen (DO) content, further improving the TC degradation efficiency. As such, this study not only proposes a facile and efficient low-temperature plasma technology for synthesizing high-performance laccase-like nanozymes but also provides a promising and environmentally friendly strategy for the remediation of antibiotic contamination in the environment.

On Equivariance and Fast Sampling in Video Diffusion Models Trained with Warped Noise

Temporally consistent video-to-video generation is critical for applications such as style transfer and upsampling. In this paper, we provide a theoretical analysis of warped noise - a recently proposed technique for training video diffusion models - and show that pairing it with the standard denoising objective implicitly trains models to be equivariant to spatial transformations of the input noise, which we term EquiVDM. This equivariance enables motion in the input noise to align naturally with motion in the generated video, yielding coherent, high-fidelity outputs without the need for specialized modules or auxiliary losses. A further advantage is sampling efficiency: EquiVDM achieves comparable or superior quality in far fewer sampling steps. When distilled into one-step student models, EquiVDM preserves equivariance and delivers stronger motion controllability and fidelity than distilled nonequivariant baselines. Across benchmarks, EquiVDM consistently outperforms prior methods in motion alignment, temporal consistency, and perceptual quality, while substantially lowering sampling cost.

A Unified Biomedical Named Entity Recognition Framework with Large Language Models

Accurate recognition of biomedical named entities is critical for medical information extraction and knowledge discovery. However, existing methods often struggle with nested entities, entity boundary ambiguity, and cross-lingual generalization. In this paper, we propose a unified Biomedical Named Entity Recognition (BioNER) framework based on Large Language Models (LLMs). We first reformulate BioNER as a text generation task and design a symbolic tagging strategy to jointly handle both flat and nested entities with explicit boundary annotation. To enhance multilingual and multi-task generalization, we perform bilingual joint fine-tuning across multiple Chinese and English datasets. Additionally, we introduce a contrastive learning-based entity selector that filters incorrect or spurious predictions by leveraging boundary-sensitive positive and negative samples. Experimental results on four benchmark datasets and two unseen corpora show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance and robust zero-shot generalization across languages. Broadband, robust, and tunable beam splitter based on topological unidirectional surface magnetoplasmons

Beam splitters are pivotal components in integrated microwave and photonic systems. However, conventional designs based on directional coupling or multi-mode interference often suffer from back scattering, frequency-dependent splitting ratios, and limited bandwidth. To overcome these limitations, here, we propose a new physical mechanism to achieve a broadband, robust, and tunable beam splitter by manipulating the mode coupling of the topological unidirectional surface magnetoplasmons (USMP) at the input and output waveguides. We show that the beam splitter not only exhibits strong robustness against obstacles but also achieves a broad bandwidth across nearly the entire USMP band with arbitrarily tunable and frequency-independent splitting ratios. Moreover, the operating band of the beam splitter can be actively tuned by adjusting the external magnetic field, while its robust and broadband characteristics are retained. Our results extend the research frontier of beam splitters and may have potential applications in integrated photonic devices and modern communication systems.

A Simultaneous Synergistic Protection Mechanism in Hybrid Perovskite-Organic Multi-junctions Enables Long-Term Stable and Efficient Tandem Solar Cells

Perovskite-organic tandem solar cells (P-O TSCs) hold great promise for next-generation thin-film photovoltaics, with steadily improving power conversion efficiency (PCE). However, the development of optimal interconnecting layers (ICLs) remains one major challenge for further efficiency gains, and progress in understanding the improved long-term stability of P-O tandem configuration has been lagging. In this study, we experimentally investigate the enhanced stability of p-i-n P-O TSCs employing a simplified C60/atomic-layer-deposition (ALD) SnOx/PEDOT: PSS ICL without an additional charge recombination layer (CRL), which achieve an averaged efficiency of 25.12% and a hero efficiency of 25.5%. Our finding discovers that the recrystallization of C60, a widely used electron transport layer in perovskite photovoltaics, leads to the formation of grain boundaries during operation, which act as migration channels for the interdiffusion of halide and Ag ions. Critically, we demonstrate for the first time that the tandem device architecture, incorporating organic semiconductor layers, effectively suppresses the bi-directional ion diffusion and mitigates electrode corrosion. Thus, the P-O TSC establishes a mutual protection system: the organic layers stabilize the perovskite sub-cell by suppressing ion diffusion-induced degradation, and the perovskite layer shields the organic sub-cell from spectrally induced degradation. The simultaneous synergistic protection mechanism enables P-O TSCs to achieve exceptional long-term operational stability, retaining over 91% of their initial efficiency after 1000 hours of continuous metal-halide lamp illumination, and to exhibit minimal fatigue after 86 cycles (2067 hours) of long-term diurnal (12/12-hour) testing. These results demonstrate that tandem cells significantly outperform their single-junction counterparts in both efficiency and stability.

FocusMed: A Large Language Model-based Framework for Enhancing Medical Question Summarization with Focus Identification

With the rapid development of online medical platforms, consumer health questions (CHQs) are inefficient in diagnosis due to redundant information and frequent non-professional terms. The medical question summary (MQS) task aims to transform CHQs into streamlined doctors' frequently asked questions (FAQs), but existing methods still face challenges such as poor identification of question focus and model hallucination. This paper explores the potential of large language models (LLMs) in the MQS task and finds that direct fine-tuning is prone to focus identification bias and generates unfaithful content. To this end, we propose an optimization framework based on core focus guidance. First, a prompt template is designed to drive the LLMs to extract the core focus from the CHQs that is faithful to the original text. Then, a fine-tuning dataset is constructed in combination with the original CHQ-FAQ pairs to improve the ability to identify the focus of the question. Finally, a multi-dimensional quality evaluation and selection mechanism is proposed to comprehensively improve the quality of the summary from multiple dimensions. We conduct comprehensive experiments on two widely-adopted MQS datasets using three established evaluation metrics. The proposed framework achieves state-of-the-art performance across all measures, demonstrating a significant boost in the model's ability to identify critical focus of questions and a notable mitigation of hallucinations. Conceptual Design Report of Super Tau-Charm Facility: The Accelerator

Electron-positron colliders operating in the GeV region of center-of-mass energies or the Tau-Charm energy region, have been proven to enable competitive frontier research, due to its several unique features. With the progress of high energy physics in the last two decades, a new-generation Tau-Charm factory, Super Tau Charm Facility (STCF) has been actively promoting by the particle physics community in China. STCF holds great potential to address fundamental questions such as the essence of color confinement and the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the universe in the next decades. The main design goals of STCF are with a center-of-mass energy ranging from 2 to 7 GeV and a peak luminosity surpassing 5*10^34 cm^-2s^-1 that is optimized at a center-of-mass energy of 4 GeV, which is about 50 times that of the currently operating Tau-Charm factory - BEPCII. The STCF accelerator is composed of two main parts: a double-ring collider with the crab-waist collision scheme and an injector that provides top-up injections for both electron and positron beams. As a typical third-generation electron-positron circular collider, the STCF accelerator faces many challenges in both accelerator physics and technology. In this paper, the conceptual design of the STCF accelerator complex is presented, including the ongoing efforts and plans for technological R&D, as well as the required infrastructure. The STCF project aims to secure support from the Chinese central government for its construction during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) in China.

Balancing Utility and Privacy: Dynamically Private SGD with Random Projection

Stochastic optimization is a pivotal enabler in modern machine learning, producing effective models for various tasks. However, several existing works have shown that model parameters and gradient information are susceptible to privacy leakage. Although Differentially Private SGD (DPSGD) addresses privacy concerns, its static noise mechanism impacts the error bounds for model performance. Additionally, with the exponential increase in model parameters, efficient learning of these models using stochastic optimizers has become more challenging. To address these concerns, we introduce the Dynamically Differentially Private Projected SGD (D2P2-SGD) optimizer. In D2P2-SGD, we combine two important ideas: (i) dynamic differential privacy (DDP) with automatic gradient clipping and (ii) random projection with SGD, allowing dynamic adjustment of the tradeoff between utility and privacy of the model. It exhibits provably sub-linear convergence rates across different objective functions, matching the best available rate. The theoretical analysis further suggests that DDP leads to better utility at the cost of privacy, while random projection enables more efficient model learning. Extensive experiments across diverse datasets show that D2P2-SGD remarkably enhances accuracy while maintaining privacy. Our code is available here.

AttenTrack: Mobile User Attention Awareness Based on Context and External Distractions

In the mobile internet era, managing limited attention amid information overload is crucial for enhancing collaboration and information delivery. However, current attention-aware systems often depend on wearables or personalized data, limiting their scalability and cross-context adaptability. Inspired by psychological theories, we attempt to treat mobile notifications as naturally occurring external distractions and infer users' attention states based on their response behaviors and contextual information. Our goal is to build an attention-aware model that does not rely on personalized historical data or complex subjective input, while ensuring strong cold-start capability and cross-context adaptability. To this end, We design a field study framework integrating subjective and objective data, closely aligned with real-world external distractions (i.e., mobile notifications). Through field studies, we construct a fine-grained and interpretable dataset centered on the relationship among current context - external distractions - subjective attention. Through our field studies, we conduct an in-depth analysis of the relationships among users' response behaviors, response motivations, contextual information, and attention states. Building on our findings, we propose AttenTrack, a lightweight, privacy-friendly attention awareness model with strong cold-start capability. The model relies solely on non-privacy-sensitive objective data available on mobile devices, and can be applied to a variety of attention management tasks. In addition, we will publicly release the constructed dataset to support future research and advance the field of mobile attention awareness.

Toward High-Precision Astrometry with CSST Using Multi-Gaussian Fitting of PSF

The Chinese Space Station Survey Telescope (CSST) presents significant potential for high-precision astrometry. In this study, we show that the point spread function (PSF) modeled by the discrete PSF with Multi-Gaussian function can effectively enhance the astrometric accuracy. We determine that the PSF profile can be accurately modeled by three Gaussians, which takes advantage of reduced computational complexity in PSF convolution. In sparse star fields, the lowest centering accuracy we obtain after aberration correction can be below 1 mas. We find that the proper motion errors remain below 1.0 mas/yr for point sources with five observations and approximately 0.8 mas/yr for seven observations with a time baseline of around 3.5 years. We finally demonstrate that the precision of our position measurements for stars fainter than 21 mag in the simulated CSST crowded field is better than the results from both SExtractor and DOLPHOT.

Identification of OB associations using the LAMOST-Gaia OB star sample

OB associations, as an intermediate stage between Galactic clusters and field stars, play an important role in understanding the star formation process, early stellar evolution, and Galactic evolution. In this work, we construct a large sample of OB stars with 6D phase space parameters ($l, b, d, V_{\rm los}, pmra ,pmdec$) by combining the distances from Bailer-Jones et al. (2021), radial velocities derived from low-resolution spectra of the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST), and proper motions from the \textit{Gaia} Data Release 3 (DR3). This sample includes 19,933 OB stars, most of which are located within 6\,kpc of the Sun. Using 6D phase space parameters and friends-of-friends clustering algorithm, we identify 67 OB associations and 112 OB association candidates, among them, 49 OB associations and 107 OB association candidates are newly identified. The Galactic rotation curve derived using 67 OB association members is relatively flat in the range of Galactocentric distances 7$<$$R$$<$13\,kpc. The angular rotation velocity at solar Galactocentric distance of $R_\odot$ =8.34\,kpc is $Ω_0$ = 29.05$\pm$0.55\,km\,s$^{-1}$\,kpc$^{-1}$. The spatial distribution of the 67 OB associations indicates that they are mainly located at low Galactic latitudes and near spiral arms of the Milky Way. Additionally, we estimate the velocity dispersions and sizes of these 67 OB associations. Our results show that the velocity dispersions decrease as Galactocentric distances increase, while their sizes increase as Galactocentric distances increase.

Blowups for a class of second order nonlinear hyperbolic equations: A reduced model of nonlinear Jeans instability

Understanding the formation of nonlinear structures in the universe and stellar systems is crucial. The nonlinear Jeans instability plays a key role in these formation processes. It has been a long-standing open problem in astrophysics for more than a century. In this article, we focus on a reduced model of the nonlinear Jeans instability in an expanding Newtonian universe, which is described by a class of second-order nonlinear hyperbolic equations. \begin{equation*} \Box \varrho(x^μ) +\frac{\mathcal{a} }{t} \partial_{t}\varrho(x^μ) - \frac{\mathcal{b}}{t^2} \varrho(x^μ) (1+ \varrho(x^μ) ) -\frac{\mathcal{c}-\mathcal{k} }{1+\varrho(x^μ)} (\partial_{t}\varrho(x^μ))^2= \mathcal{k} F(t). \end{equation*} We establish a family of nonlinear self-increasing blowup solutions (where the solution itself becomes infinite in a stable ODE-type blowup) for this equation. Furthermore, we provide estimates on the growth rate of $\varrho$, which may help explain why the nonlinear structures in the universe grow much faster in astrophysical observations than predicted by the classical Jeans instability.

SimViews: An Interactive Multi-Agent System Simulating Visitor-to-Visitor Conversational Patterns to Present Diverse Perspectives of Artifacts in Virtual Museums

Offering diverse perspectives on a museum artifact can deepen visitors' understanding and help avoid the cognitive limitations of a single narrative, ultimately enhancing their overall experience. Physical museums promote diversity through visitor interactions. However, it remains a challenge to present multiple voices appropriately while attracting and sustaining a visitor's attention in the virtual museum. Inspired by recent studies that show the effectiveness of LLM-powered multi-agents in presenting different opinions about an event, we propose SimViews, an interactive multi-agent system that simulates visitor-to-visitor conversational patterns to promote the presentation of diverse perspectives. The system employs LLM-powered multi-agents that simulate virtual visitors with different professional identities, providing diverse interpretations of artifacts. Additionally, we constructed 4 conversational patterns between users and agents to simulate visitor interactions. We conducted a within-subject study with 20 participants, comparing SimViews to a traditional single-agent condition. Our results show that SimViews effectively facilitates the presentation of diverse perspectives through conversations, enhancing participants' understanding of viewpoints and engagement within the virtual museum.

The binary fraction of Blue Horizontal-Branch (BHB) Stars

Blue horizontal-branch (BHB) stars are old, low-mass, metal-poor stars that serve as important tracers of the Galactic halo structure, kinematics, and evolution.Understanding their binary properties provides key insights into their formation channels and the role of binary interactions in the evolution of horizontal branch stars. We intend to investigate the intrinsic binary fraction $f_{\rm b}^{\rm in}$ of BHB stars and its dependencies on metallicity, kinematics, and effective temperature. We collect \GG{299} BHB stars from LAMOST with multiple radial velocity (RV) measurements and classify the sample into halo-like and disk-like BHBs based on their kinematics and metallicity, as well as into bluer and redder BHBs based on their \G{effective temperature}. We then investigate the observed binary fraction for each group based on the radial velocity variations and apply a set of Monte Carlo simulations, assuming distributions of $f(P) \propto P^π$ and $f(q) \propto q^κ$, to correct the observed binary fraction for observational biases and derive the intrinsic binary fraction. After correcting for observational biases, the intrinsic binary fraction increases to 31% for n > 2 and 32% for n > 3. A clear contrast is observed between halo-like and disk-like BHB stars, with halo-like BHBs exhibiting a lower intrinsic binary fraction (28% for n > 2 and 29% for n> 3) compared to disk-like BHBs (46% and 51%, respectively), indicating different formation pathways. Additionally, we find that bluer BHB stars exhibit a significantly higher binary fraction (42% for n > 2 and 45% for n> 3) than redder BHB stars (24% and 23%, respectively), which suggests a possible link between binarity and the effective temperature, although more samples are required to confirm this.

Controlling diverse robots by inferring Jacobian fields with deep networks

Mirroring the complex structures and diverse functions of natural organisms is a long-standing challenge in robotics. Modern fabrication techniques have greatly expanded the feasible hardware, but using these systems requires control software to translate the desired motions into actuator commands. Conventional robots can easily be modeled as rigid links connected by joints, but it remains an open challenge to model and control biologically inspired robots that are often soft or made of several materials, lack sensing capabilities, and may change their material properties with use. Here, we introduce a method that uses deep neural networks to map a video stream of a robot to its visuomotor Jacobian field (the sensitivity of all 3D points to the robot's actuators). Our method enables the control of robots from only a single camera, makes no assumptions about the robots' materials, actuation, or sensing, and is trained without expert intervention by observing the execution of random commands. We demonstrate our method on a diverse set of robot manipulators that vary in actuation, materials, fabrication, and cost. Our approach achieves accurate closed-loop control and recovers the causal dynamic structure of each robot. Because it enables robot control using a generic camera as the only sensor, we anticipate that our work will broaden the design space of robotic systems and serve as a starting point for lowering the barrier to robotic automation.
