The Search for the Top Quark
Abstract
The discovery of the top quark in 1995 completed the roster of the matter particles, quarks and leptons, expected in the Standard Model and in many of its suggested extensions. However, the top quark does not conform to the pattern set by its sister quarks and has come to be a critical component of the ongoing searches for physics beyond the prevailing paradigm.
