A complete representation theorem for nullnorms on bounded trellises

We establish necessary and sufficient conditions under which a binary operation on a bounded trellis is a proper nullnorm. The representation combines a t-conorm on the lower interval, a t-norm on the upper interval, two order-preserving maps, and a commutative, increasing function on $I_a^3\times I_a^3$, where $I_a^3$ consists of the elements incomparable with the absorbing element $a$ that neither reach $a$ nor are reachable from $a$. Unlike earlier range-restricted constructions, this function may take values anywhere in the trellis. To preserve associativity for such unrestricted values, we introduce a mixed interaction function that evaluates every pair with at least one component in $I_a^3$. We also derive the specializations in which this region is empty or consists of a single element, including an exact description of the admissible value in the singleton case. A five-element lattice example shows that the mixed associativity condition is independent of the remaining hypotheses, while a fourteen-element nontransitive trellis example demonstrates the necessity of allowing the unrestricted range. Finally, the principal range-restricted subclasses and the bounded-lattice case are recovered as specializations of the general representation.

Structures of uninorms on bounded lattices via t-conorms, closure operators and t-subnorms

In this paper, we provide some structures of uninorms on bounded lattices via t-conorms, closure operators and t-subnorms, subject to certain constraints on the closure operators and t-subnorms. Importantly, these constraints are shown to be both sufficient and necessary. That is, the proposed methods reveal clear relationships between the structure of the resulting uninorms and the properties of the underlying components. Meanwhile, we present the degenerate cases of the aforementioned results, which are constructed using special closure operators and t-subnorms. Some of these cases correspond to well-known results documented in the literature. Moreover, the dual constructions of uninorms on bounded lattices, based on t-norms, interior operators and t-superconorms, are presented simultaneously.

Uninorms via two comparable closure operators on bounded lattices

In this paper, we propose novel methods for constructing uninorms using two comparable closure operators or, alternatively, two comparable interior operators on bounded lattices. These methods are developed under the necessary and sufficient conditions imposed on these operators. Specifically, the construction of uninorms for $(x ,y )\in ]0 ,e [\times]e ,1 [ \cup ]e ,1 [\times]0 ,e [$ depends not only on the structure of the bounded lattices but also on the chosen closure operators (or interior operators). Consequently, the resulting uninorms do not necessarily belong to $\mathcal{U}_{min}^{*}\cup \mathcal{U}_{min}^{1}$ (or $\mathcal{U}_{max}^{*}\cup\mathcal{U}_{max}^{0}$). Moreover, we present the degenerate cases of the aforementioned results, which are constructed using only a single closure operator or a single interior operator. Some of these cases correspond to well-known results documented in the literature.

Nullnorms on bounded trellises

In this paper, we introduce the notion of nullnorms on bounded trellises and study some basic properties. Based on the existence of $t$-norms and $t$-conorms on arbitrary bounded trellises, we propose some construction methods of nullnorms on bounded trellises. Moreover, some illustrative examples are provided.

Some further construction methods for uninorms via uninorms

In this paper, we further investigate new construction methods for uninorms on bounded lattices via given uninorms. More specifically, we first construct new uninorms on arbitrary bounded lattices by extending a given uninorm on a subinterval of the lattices under necessary and sufficient conditions on the given uninorm. Moreover, based on the new uninorms, we can give another sufficient and necessary condition under which $S_{1}^{*}$ is a $t$-conorm ($T_{1}^{*}$ is a $t$-norm) in \cite{SS06}. Furthermore, using closure operators (interior operators), we also provide new construction methods for uninorms by extending the given uninorm on a subinterval of a bounded lattice under some additional constraints and simultaneously investigate the additional constraints carefully and systematically. Meanwhile, some illustrative examples for the above construction methods of uninorms on bounded lattices are provided.
