SR-Edit: Region-Aware Image Editing via Self-Refinement

With the recent rapid progress in generative models, image editing has made remarkable advances, yet achieving faithful edits that precisely modify only the target regions while strictly preserving all other regions remains challenging. Since externally provided region annotations are often difficult to obtain in practice, a growing body of work seeks to improve preservation by automatically inferring edit and non-edit regions, and then enforcing consistency on the latter. However, these approaches still suffer from inaccurate region estimation and heuristic correction strategies that distort the native inference process, making methods designed for fidelity themselves a new source of artifacts. We propose SR-Edit, an image editing framework that overcomes these issues via iterative self-refinement. Specifically, at each iteration, SR-Edit first (i) extracts progressively precise and self-consistent region separation from the model's own predictions by lightweight post-processing, and then (ii) enforces preservation in non-edit areas through correction updates that remain aligned with the original sampling dynamics. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SR-Edit achieves superior preservation and overall image quality compared to existing editing techniques.

SafeDivertor: Faithful Divertor Heat Flux Reconstruction from Macroscopic Plasma State Signals via Time-Frequency Prior Exploitation

Divertor heat-flux analysis is essential for understanding plasma-wall interactions and protecting plasma-facing components in magnetic-confinement fusion devices, while conventional infrared-based inversion is usually performed after discharge and requires heat-conduction modeling with device-specific material properties, divertor geometry, and boundary conditions. Rather than accelerating this conventional infrared-based inversion paradigm, we introduce a new online-oriented signal-based reconstruction paradigm that directly reconstructs time-resolved radial heat-flux profiles from multi-source macroscopic plasma-state signals available during discharge. To enable systematic study of this task, we construct \textbf{DivMPS2HF}, a multi-source discharge dataset that provides the data foundation and benchmark for signal-based divertor heat-flux reconstruction. We further propose \textbf{SafeDivertor}, a task-driven framework designed to address the key challenges of signal-based heat-flux reconstruction. It employs physical prior-aware initialization to provide radial-distribution guidance for target channels, input perturbation to reduce over-reliance on specific heterogeneous signals, spectral-aware reconstruction optimization to exploit time-frequency priors and preserve transient dynamics, and progressive training to stabilize the optimization of these complementary objectives. Experiments on DivMPS2HF demonstrate that SafeDivertor achieves the best overall performance among the evaluated time-series baselines across all five metrics, establishing a new performance benchmark for signal-based divertor heat-flux reconstruction. Visual Representation Matters: Exploiting Temporal Differences in Video-to-Audio Generation

Video-to-audio (V2A) generation extends image-to-audio generation (I2A) by introducing consecutive frames that provide essential temporal cues for audio synthesis. However, existing conditional diffusion-based V2A methods typically enhance visual conditioning with additional audio-visual supervision, acoustic structure prediction, or reasoning from large multimodal models, requiring extra networks or strong inductive biases. Inspired by recent advances in visual representation learning, we introduce TD-V2A, which leverages temporal differences (TD) as the key representation that distinguishes V2A from I2A, enriching visual conditioning with minimal architectural modification. We first investigate TD at both the frame and feature levels to identify the most effective representation level at which TD complements visual representations. Based on these findings, we develop a hierarchically continual learning strategy and an annealed temporal differences guidance method to progressively learn and exploit TD information during diffusion training and sampling process, respectively. Extensive experiments on benchmark datasets demonstrate that effectively exploiting TD through our proposed framework significantly improves end-to-end V2A generation quality, even outperforming dedicated V2A representations such as contrastive audio-visual pretraining.

CP2K: An electronic structure and molecular dynamics software package - Dynamics, Transport, and Spectroscopic Response

One of the distinguishing aspects of CP2K is its seamless integration of diverse structural and transition-state optimization techniques with advanced sampling approaches including Monte Carlo, molecular dynamics, and metadynamics, enabling the efficient exploration of complex potential- and free-energy landscapes, including rare events. These capabilities are combined with a broad hierarchy of energy and force evaluation methods, ranging from classical and machine-learned interaction potentials and mixed quantum-classical multiscale and semiempirical schemes, to highly accurate quantum-mechanical electronic-structure approaches. At the heart of the latter lies the Gaussian and plane-wave framework, along with its augmented all-electron generalization, which have been described in detail in our previous code review [T. D. Kühne et al., J. Chem. Phys. 152, 194103 (2020)]. Building on this foundation, the present work revisits the methods within CP2K that turn electronic structure into dynamics, transport, and spectroscopic response. Particular emphasis is placed on the coupling between static response calculations and nuclear motion: spectra may be evaluated at optimized structures, averaged over thermally sampled configurations, obtained from time-correlation functions along ab-initio or path integral molecular trajectories, or followed in real time together with electronic and nuclear dynamics. The same modular structure also enables equilibrium and biased transport simulations, from Kubo-type linear response to open-boundary approaches under external potentials, highlighting CP2K's unique capability to unify quantum chemistry with quantum and statistical mechanics within a versatile, holistic simulation environment.

Temperature Field Reconstruction of Tungsten Monoblock Divertor on EAST using Physics-aware Neural Operator Transformer

Accurate modeling of the divertor temperature field is essential for preventing material melting and damage and for extending the service life of fusion devices. However, conventional numerical methods, such as the Finite Element Method (FEM), are computationally expensive and therefore unsuitable for real-time applications. Therefore, a fast and generalizable method is required for real-time reconstruction of the divertor temperature field and subsequent real-time control. To address the above issue, we propose a Physics-aware Neural Operator Transformer (PNOT) to characterize the spatiotemporal evolution of the divertor temperature field. It models boundary heat-flux relations as a structured graph and employs graph attention to explicitly capture spatial physical dependencies. Inspired by physics-aware attention, we further develop a physics-aware neural operator module to aggregate query points with similar physical conditions via slicing and model heat diffusion, while a gradient-constrained Sobolev regularization loss enforces consistency between function values and their derivatives. Experimental results show that these physical constraints improve prediction accuracy while preserving physical consistency. FreeSonic: Training-Free Temporal-Aware Decoupled Attention for Precise Audio Editing

Text-to-audio (TTA) generation has made significant strides, yet achieving precise and consistent audio editing remains a major challenge. However, existing methods struggle to balance temporal consistency with background preservation. In this paper, we propose FreeSonic, a training-free framework leveraging the state-of-the-art Rectified Flow-based TangoFlux model. FreeSonic utilizes an optimized inversion-reverse process and joint text-audio attention maps for precise target segment extraction. For content editing, a novel scheduled attention decoupling confines modifications to target regions while preserving original acoustic context. Furthermore, task-oriented noise injection enhances versatility for tasks such as audio removal and non-rigid replacement. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that FreeSonic achieves a superior balance by providing a high-fidelity and efficient solution for precise and consistent audio editing. GuidedBridge: Training-freely Improving Bridge Models with Prior Guidance

Guidance methods, such as classifier-free guidance (CFG) and auto-guidance (AG), have advanced noise-to-data generation in diffusion models. Recently, bridge models have introduced a data-to-data generative process that can exploit an instructive clean prior. In this work, inspired by previous methods creating quality difference between denoising results as guidance, we propose a training-free bridge guidance method, termed Prior Guidance (PG). Specifically, we introduce a weak prior, which is unseen during bridge pre-training, hindering prior exploitation and thereby degrading denoising result. Then, we contrast it with the seen prior to highlight and enhance prior exploitation via a scaling factor. Moreover, we analyze the underlying mechanism of prior exploitation in the bridge process and design frequency-modulated prior guidance (FMPG), which tailors the guidance scale to low- and high-frequency bands coherent with bridge generative dynamics. To address prior exploitation in image in-painting, we develop a cascaded framework, CFG-FMPG, which first generates a noisy hidden representation via CFG and then exploits it as a generative prior with FMPG, fulfilling their complementary strengths without compromising inference efficiency. Experiments demonstrate that our PG methods consistently improve pre-trained bridge models across diverse image translation tasks.

Omni2Sound: Towards Unified Video-Text-to-Audio Generation

Training a unified model integrating video-to-audio (V2A), text-to-audio (T2A), and joint video-text-to-audio (VT2A) generation offers significant application flexibility, yet faces two unexplored foundational challenges: (1) the scarcity of high-quality audio captions with tight V-A-T alignment, leading to severe semantic conflict between multimodal conditions, and (2) cross-task and intra-task competition, manifesting as an adverse V2A-T2A performance trade-off and modality bias in the VT2A task. First, to address data scarcity, we introduce SoundAtlas, a large-scale dataset (470k pairs) that significantly outperforms existing benchmarks and even human experts in quality. Powered by a novel agentic pipeline, it integrates Vision-to-Language Compression to mitigate visual bias of MLLMs, a Junior-Senior Agent Handoff for a 5$\times$ cost reduction, and rigorous Post-hoc Filtering to ensure fidelity. Consequently, SoundAtlas delivers semantically rich and temporally detailed captions with tight V-A-T alignment. Second, we propose Omni2Sound, a unified VT2A diffusion model supporting flexible input modalities. To resolve the inherent cross-task and intra-task competition, we design a three-stage multi-task progressive training schedule that converts cross-task competition into joint optimization and mitigates modality bias in the VT2A task, maintaining both audio-visual alignment and off-screen audio generation faithfulness. Finally, we construct VGGSound-Omni, a comprehensive benchmark for unified evaluation, including challenging off-screen tracks. With a standard DiT backbone, Omni2Sound achieves unified SOTA performance across all three tasks within a single model, demonstrating strong generalization across benchmarks with heterogeneous input conditions.

ControlAudio: Tackling Text-Guided, Timing-Indicated and Intelligible Audio Generation via Progressive Diffusion Modeling

Text-to-audio (TTA) generation with fine-grained control signals, e.g., precise timing control or intelligible speech content, has been explored in recent works. However, constrained by data scarcity, their generation performance at scale is still compromised. In this study, we recast controllable TTA generation as a multi-task learning problem and introduce a progressive diffusion modeling approach, ControlAudio. Our method adeptly fits distributions conditioned on more fine-grained information, including text, timing, and phoneme features, through a step-by-step strategy. First, we propose a data construction method spanning both annotation and simulation, augmenting condition information in the sequence of text, timing, and phoneme. Second, at the model training stage, we pretrain a diffusion transformer (DiT) on large-scale text-audio pairs, achieving scalable TTA generation, and then incrementally integrate the timing and phoneme features with unified semantic representations, expanding controllability. Finally, at the inference stage, we propose progressively guided generation, which sequentially emphasizes more fine-grained information, aligning inherently with the coarse-to-fine sampling nature of DiT. Extensive experiments show that ControlAudio achieves state-of-the-art performance in terms of temporal accuracy and speech clarity, significantly outperforming existing methods on both objective and subjective evaluations. AudioMoG: Guiding Audio Generation with Mixture-of-Guidance

The design of diffusion-based audio generation systems has been investigated from diverse perspectives, such as data space, network architecture, and conditioning techniques, while most of these innovations require model re-training. In sampling, classifier-free guidance (CFG) has been uniformly adopted to enhance generation quality by strengthening condition alignment. However, CFG often compromises diversity, resulting in suboptimal performance. Although the recent autoguidance (AG) method proposes another direction of guidance that maintains diversity, its direct application in audio generation has so far underperformed CFG. In this work, we introduce AudioMoG, an improved sampling method that enhances text-to-audio (T2A) and video-to-audio (V2A) generation quality without requiring extensive training resources. We start with an analysis of both CFG and AG, examining their respective advantages and limitations for guiding diffusion models. Building upon our insights, we introduce a mixture-of-guidance framework that integrates diverse guidance signals with their interaction terms (e.g., the unconditional bad version of the model) to maximize cumulative advantages. Experiments show that, given the same inference speed, our approach consistently outperforms single guidance in T2A generation across sampling steps, concurrently showing advantages in V2A, text-to-music, and image generation. VoiceBridge: General Speech Restoration with One-step Latent Bridge Models

Bridge models have been investigated in speech enhancement but are mostly single-task, with constrained general speech restoration (GSR) capability. In this work, we propose VoiceBridge, a one-step latent bridge model (LBM) for GSR, capable of efficiently reconstructing 48 kHz fullband speech from diverse distortions. To inherit the advantages of data-domain bridge models, we design an energy-preserving variational autoencoder, enhancing the waveform-latent space alignment over varying energy levels. By compressing waveform into continuous latent representations, VoiceBridge models~\textit{various} GSR tasks with a~\textit{single} latent-to-latent generative process backed by a scalable transformer. To alleviate the challenge of reconstructing the high-quality target from distinctively different low-quality priors, we propose a joint neural prior for GSR, uniformly reducing the burden of the LBM in diverse tasks. Building upon these designs, we further investigate bridge training objective by jointly tuning LBM, decoder and discriminator together, transforming the model from a denoiser to generator and enabling \textit{one-step GSR without distillation}. Extensive validation across in-domain (\textit{e.g.}, denoising and super-resolution) and out-of-domain tasks (\textit{e.g.}, refining synthesized speech) and datasets demonstrates the superior performance of VoiceBridge. RefineBridge: Generative Bridge Models Improve Financial Forecasting by Foundation Models

Financial time series forecasting is particularly challenging for transformer-based time series foundation models (TSFMs) due to non-stationarity, heavy-tailed distributions, and high-frequency noise present in data. Low-rank adaptation (LoRA) has become a popular parameter-efficient method for adapting pre-trained TSFMs to downstream data domains. However, it still underperforms in financial data, as it preserves the network architecture and training objective of TSFMs rather than complementing the foundation model. To further enhance TSFMs, we propose a novel refinement module, RefineBridge, built upon a tractable Schrödinger Bridge (SB) generative framework. Given the forecasts of TSFM as generative prior and the observed ground truths as targets, RefineBridge learns context-conditioned stochastic transport maps to improve TSFM predictions, iteratively approaching the ground-truth target from even a low-quality prior. Simulations on multiple financial benchmarks demonstrate that RefineBridge consistently improves the performance of state-of-the-art TSFMs across different prediction horizons.

GMS-CAVP: Improving Audio-Video Correspondence with Multi-Scale Contrastive and Generative Pretraining

Recent advances in video-audio (V-A) understanding and generation have increasingly relied on joint V-A embeddings, which serve as the foundation for tasks such as cross-modal retrieval and generation. While prior methods like CAVP effectively model semantic and temporal correspondences between modalities using contrastive objectives, their performance remains suboptimal. A key limitation is the insufficient modeling of the dense, multi-scale nature of both video and audio signals, correspondences often span fine- to coarse-grained spatial-temporal structures, which are underutilized in existing frameworks. To this end, we propose GMS-CAVP, a novel framework that combines Multi-Scale Video-Audio Alignment and Multi-Scale Spatial-Temporal Diffusion-based pretraining objectives to enhance V-A correspondence modeling. First, GMS-CAVP introduces a multi-scale contrastive learning strategy that captures semantic and temporal relations across varying granularities. Second, we go beyond traditional contrastive learning by incorporating a diffusion-based generative objective, enabling modality translation and synthesis between video and audio. This unified discriminative-generative formulation facilitates deeper cross-modal understanding and paves the way for high-fidelity generation. Extensive experiments on VGGSound, AudioSet, and Panda70M demonstrate that GMS-CAVP outperforms previous methods in generation and retrieval.

Audio Super-Resolution with Latent Bridge Models

Audio super-resolution (SR), i.e., upsampling the low-resolution (LR) waveform to the high-resolution (HR) version, has recently been explored with diffusion and bridge models, while previous methods often suffer from sub-optimal upsampling quality due to their uninformative generation prior. Towards high-quality audio super-resolution, we present a new system with latent bridge models (LBMs), where we compress the audio waveform into a continuous latent space and design an LBM to enable a latent-to-latent generation process that naturally matches the LR-toHR upsampling process, thereby fully exploiting the instructive prior information contained in the LR waveform. To further enhance the training results despite the limited availability of HR samples, we introduce frequency-aware LBMs, where the prior and target frequency are taken as model input, enabling LBMs to explicitly learn an any-to-any upsampling process at the training stage. Furthermore, we design cascaded LBMs and present two prior augmentation strategies, where we make the first attempt to unlock the audio upsampling beyond 48 kHz and empower a seamless cascaded SR process, providing higher flexibility for audio post-production. Comprehensive experimental results evaluated on the VCTK, ESC-50, Song-Describer benchmark datasets and two internal testsets demonstrate that we achieve state-of-the-art objective and perceptual quality for any-to-48kHz SR across speech, audio, and music signals, as well as setting the first record for any-to-192kHz audio SR. Exploiting the Prior of Generative Time Series Imputation

Time series imputation, i.e., filling the missing values of a time recording, finds various applications in electricity, finance, and weather modelling. Previous methods have introduced generative models such as diffusion probabilistic models and Schrodinger bridge models to conditionally generate the missing values from Gaussian noise or directly from linear interpolation results. However, as their prior is not informative to the ground-truth target, their generation process inevitably suffer increased burden and limited imputation accuracy. In this work, we present Bridge-TS, building a data-to-data generation process for generative time series imputation and exploiting the design of prior with two novel designs. Firstly, we propose expert prior, leveraging a pretrained transformer-based module as an expert to fill the missing values with a deterministic estimation, and then taking the results as the prior of ground truth target. Secondly, we explore compositional priors, utilizing several pretrained models to provide different estimation results, and then combining them in the data-to-data generation process to achieve a compositional priors-to-target imputation process. Experiments conducted on several benchmark datasets such as ETT, Exchange, and Weather show that Bridge-TS reaches a new record of imputation accuracy in terms of mean square error and mean absolute error, demonstrating the superiority of improving prior for generative time series imputation.

FreeAudio: Training-Free Timing Planning for Controllable Long-Form Text-to-Audio Generation

Text-to-audio (T2A) generation has achieved promising results with the recent advances in generative models. However, because of the limited quality and quantity of temporally-aligned audio-text pairs, existing T2A methods struggle to handle the complex text prompts that contain precise timing control, e.g., "owl hooted at 2.4s-5.2s". Recent works have explored data augmentation techniques or introduced timing conditions as model inputs to enable timing-conditioned 10-second T2A generation, while their synthesis quality is still limited. In this work, we propose a novel training-free timing-controlled T2A framework, FreeAudio, making the first attempt to enable timing-controlled long-form T2A generation, e.g., "owl hooted at 2.4s-5.2s and crickets chirping at 0s-24s". Specifically, we first employ an LLM to plan non-overlapping time windows and recaption each with a refined natural language description, based on the input text and timing prompts. Then we introduce: 1) Decoupling and Aggregating Attention Control for precise timing control; 2) Contextual Latent Composition for local smoothness and Reference Guidance for global consistency. Extensive experiments show that: 1) FreeAudio achieves state-of-the-art timing-conditioned T2A synthesis quality among training-free methods and is comparable to leading training-based methods; 2) FreeAudio demonstrates comparable long-form generation quality with training-based Stable Audio and paves the way for timing-controlled long-form T2A synthesis. Deep Learning for Personalized Binaural Audio Reproduction

Personalized binaural audio reproduction is the basis of realistic spatial localization, sound externalization, and immersive listening, directly shaping user experience and listening effort. This survey reviews recent advances in deep learning for this task and organizes them by generation mechanism into two paradigms: explicit personalized filtering and end-to-end rendering. Explicit methods predict personalized head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) from sparse measurements, morphological features, or environmental cues, and then use them in the conventional rendering pipeline. End-to-end methods map source signals directly to binaural signals, aided by other inputs such as visual, textual, or parametric guidance, and they learn personalization within the model. We also summarize the field's main datasets and evaluation metrics to support fair and repeatable comparison. Finally, we conclude with a discussion of key applications enabled by these technologies, current technical limitations, and potential research directions for deep learning-based spatial audio systems.

Versatile Cardiovascular Signal Generation with a Unified Diffusion Transformer

Cardiovascular signals such as photoplethysmography (PPG), electrocardiography (ECG), and blood pressure (BP) are inherently correlated and complementary, together reflecting the health of cardiovascular system. However, their joint utilization in real-time monitoring is severely limited by diverse acquisition challenges from noisy wearable recordings to burdened invasive procedures. Here we propose UniCardio, a multi-modal diffusion transformer that reconstructs low-quality signals and synthesizes unrecorded signals in a unified generative framework. Its key innovations include a specialized model architecture to manage the signal modalities involved in generation tasks and a continual learning paradigm to incorporate varying modality combinations. By exploiting the complementary nature of cardiovascular signals, UniCardio clearly outperforms recent task-specific baselines in signal denoising, imputation, and translation. The generated signals match the performance of ground-truth signals in detecting abnormal health conditions and estimating vital signs, even in unseen domains, while ensuring interpretability for human experts. These advantages position UniCardio as a promising avenue for advancing AI-assisted healthcare.
