Drive My Way: Preference Alignment of Vision-Language-Action Model for Personalized Driving

Human driving behavior is inherently personal, which is shaped by long-term habits and influenced by short-term intentions. Individuals differ in how they accelerate, brake, merge, yield, and overtake across diverse situations. However, existing end-to-end autonomous driving systems either optimize for generic objectives or rely on fixed driving modes, lacking the ability to adapt to individual preferences or interpret natural language intent. To address this gap, we propose Drive My Way (DMW), a personalized Vision-Language-Action (VLA) driving framework that aligns with users' long-term driving habits and adapts to real-time user instructions. DMW learns a user embedding from our personalized driving dataset collected across multiple real drivers and conditions the policy on this embedding during planning, while natural language instructions provide additional short-term guidance. Closed-loop evaluation on the Bench2Drive benchmark demonstrates that DMW improves style instruction adaptation, and user studies show that its generated behaviors are recognizable as each driver's own style, highlighting personalization as a key capability for human-centered autonomous driving. Our data and code are available at https://dmw-cvpr.github.io/.

Fermi surface of Kagome metal CsCr$_3$Sb$_5$ observed by laser photoemission microscopy

We investigated the Fermi surface (FS) in the paramagnetic state of Kagome metal CsCr$_3$Sb$_5$ by employing a laser photoemission microscopy. We found a circular FS and two hexagonal FSs around the Brillouin zone (BZ) center. Polarization-dependent measurements further enable us to detect small FS pockets at the BZ boundary. According to the density functional theory calculations, the orbital characters of the FSs were determined from their shape and orientations. We found that the size of the FS is strongly modified for the d$_{xz}$ orbital, suggesting the orbital-dependent correlation effect. These results provide an electronic basis for exploring the interplay of antiferromagnetic/charge density wave order and possible unconventional superconductivity in this compound.

Evidence for itinerant electron-local moment interaction in Li-doped $α$-MnTe

We use inelastic neutron scattering (INS) and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) to study the impact of Li doping on the semiconducting altermagnet $α$-MnTe. Introducing Li results in a spin reorientation from in-plane to out-of-plane direction and increases the density of itinerant carriers. While our ARPES measurements do not indicate any notable doping-induced changes in the electronic band structure or the magnitude of the altermagnetic band splitting, our INS measurements reveal an abrupt carrier-induced decrease in the spin wave lifetime near the zone boundary at high energies. This finding is consistent with a new magnon decay channel driven by doping-induced subtle changes in the band structure and enhanced interactions between Mn$^{2+}$ local moments and itinerant electrons. By extracting the local dynamic susceptibility from INS spectra and applying the total moment sum rule, we find that both undoped and Li-doped $α$-MnTe exhibit the full expected Mn$^{2+}$ local moment of $\approx5.9~μ_\mathrm{B}$ with $S=5/2$. These findings suggest that $α$-MnTe hosts robust local-moment altermagnetism which shows a breakdown at high energies upon addition of itinerant carriers, highlighting the importance of carrier-spin coupling in magneto-transport and spin dynamic properties of altermagnets even in the dilute-carrier limit.

U-OBCA: Uncertainty-Aware Optimization-Based Collision Avoidance via Wasserstein Distributionally Robust Chance Constraints

Uncertainties arising from localization error, trajectory prediction errors of the moving obstacles and environmental disturbances pose significant challenges to robot's safe navigation. Existing uncertainty-aware planners often approximate polygon-shaped robots and obstacles using simple geometric primitives such as circles or ellipses. Though computationally convenient, these approximations substantially shrink the feasible space, leading to overly conservative trajectories and even planning failure in narrow environments. In addition, many such methods rely on specific assumptions about noise distributions, which may not hold in practice and thus limit their performance guarantees. To address these limitations, we extend the Optimization-Based Collision Avoidance (OBCA) framework to an uncertainty-aware formulation, termed \emph{U-OBCA}. The proposed method explicitly accounts for the collision risk between polygon-shaped robots and obstacles by formulating OBCA-based chance constraints, and hence avoiding geometric simplifications and reducing unnecessary conservatism. These probabilistic constraints are further tightened into deterministic nonlinear constraints under mild distributional assumptions, which can be solved efficiently by standard numerical optimization solvers. The proposed approach is validated through theoretical analysis, numerical simulations and real-world experiments. The results demonstrate that U-OBCA significantly mitigates the conservatism in trajectory planning and achieves higher navigation efficiency compared to existing baseline methods, particularly in narrow and cluttered environments.

Verb Mirage: Unveiling and Assessing Verb Concept Hallucinations in Multimodal Large Language Models

Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have garnered significant attention recently and demonstrate outstanding capabilities in various tasks such as OCR, VQA, captioning, $\textit{etc}$. However, hallucination remains a persistent issue. While numerous methods have been proposed to mitigate hallucinations, achieving notable improvements, these methods primarily focus on mitigating hallucinations about $\textbf{object/noun-related}$ concepts. Verb concepts, crucial for understanding human actions, have been largely overlooked. In this paper, to the best of our knowledge, we are the $\textbf{first}$ to investigate the $\textbf{verb hallucination}$ phenomenon of MLLMs from various perspectives. Our findings reveal that most state-of-the-art MLLMs suffer from severe verb hallucination. To assess the effectiveness of existing mitigation methods for object concept hallucination on verb hallucination, we evaluated these methods and found that they do not effectively address verb hallucination. To address this issue, we propose a novel rich verb knowledge-based tuning method to mitigate verb hallucination. The experiment results demonstrate that our method significantly reduces hallucinations related to verbs.

Spin Excitations and Flat Electronic Bands in a Cr-based Kagome Superconductor

In the quest for topology- and correlation-driven quantum states, kagome lattice materials have garnered significant interest for their band structures, featuring flat bands (FBs) from the quantum destructive interference of the electronic wavefunction. Tuning an FB to the chemical potential could induce electronic instabilities and emergent orders. Despite extensive studies, direct evidence of FBs tuned to the chemical potential and their role in emergent orders in bulk materials remains lacking. Using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, resonant inelastic X-ray scattering, and density functional theory, we show that the low-energy structure of the Cr-based kagome metal superconductor {\Cr} is dominated by FBs at the Fermi level. We also observe low-energy magnetic excitations evolving across the low-temperature transition, largely consistent with the FB shift. Our results suggest that the low-temperature order contains a magnetic origin and that the kagome FBs may play a role in the emergence of this order.

Optical Link Tomography: First Field Trial and 4D Extension

Optical link tomography (OLT) is a rapidly evolving field that allows the multi-span, end-to-end visualization of optical power along fiber links in multiple dimensions from network endpoints, solely by processing signals received at coherent receivers. This paper has two objectives: (1) to report the first field trial of OLT, using a commercial transponder under standard DWDM transmission, and (2) to extend its capability to visualize across 4D (distance, time, frequency, and polarization), allowing for locating and measuring multiple QoT degradation causes, including time-varying power anomalies, spectral anomalies, and excessive polarization dependent loss. We also address a critical aspect of OLT, i.e., its need for high fiber launch power, by improving power profile signal-to-noise ratio through averaging across all available dimensions. Consequently, multiple loss anomalies in a field-deployed link are observed even at launch power lower than the system-optimal level. The applications and use cases of OLT from network commissioning to provisioning and operation for current and near-term network scenarios are also discussed.

Generalized few-shot transfer learning architecture for modeling the EDFA gain spectrum

Accurate modeling of the gain spectrum in Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFAs) is essential for optimizing optical network performance, particularly as networks evolve toward multi-vendor solutions. In this work, we propose a generalized few-shot transfer learning architecture based on a Semi-Supervised Self-Normalizing Neural Network (SS-NN) that leverages internal EDFA features - such as VOA input or output power and attenuation, to improve gain spectrum prediction. Our SS-NN model employs a two-phase training strategy comprising unsupervised pre-training with noise-augmented measurements and supervised fine-tuning with a custom weighted MSE loss. Furthermore, we extend the framework with transfer learning (TL) techniques that enable both homogeneous (same-feature space) and heterogeneous (different-feature sets) model adaptation across booster, preamplifier, and ILA EDFAs. To address feature mismatches in heterogeneous TL, we incorporate a covariance matching loss to align second-order feature statistics between source and target domains. Extensive experiments conducted across 26 EDFAs in the COSMOS and Open Ireland testbeds demonstrate that the proposed approach significantly reduces the number of measurements requirements on the system while achieving lower mean absolute errors and improved error distributions compared to benchmark methods.

GLU Attention Improve Transformer

Gated Linear Units (GLU) have shown great potential in enhancing neural network performance. In this paper, I introduce a novel attention mechanism called GLU Attention, which introduces nonlinearity into the values of Attention. My experiments demonstrate that GLU Attention improves both model performance and convergence speed across text and vision modalities with zero additional parameters and negligible computational costs. GLU Attention is lightweight and can seamlessly integrate with other technologies, such as Flash Attention, Rotary Position Embedding (RoPE), and various Multi-Head Attention (MHA) variants such as Grouped-Query Attention (GQA). This project is open-sourced at github.

A Survey of Datasets for Information Diffusion Tasks

Information diffusion across various new media platforms gradually influences perceptions, decisions, and social behaviors of individual users. In communication studies, the famous Five W's of Communication model (5W Model) has displayed the process of information diffusion clearly. At present, although plenty of studies and corresponding datasets about information diffusion have emerged, a systematic categorization of tasks and an integration of datasets are still lacking. To address this gap, we survey a systematic taxonomy of information diffusion tasks and datasets based on the "5W Model" framework. We first categorize the information diffusion tasks into ten subtasks with definitions and datasets analysis, from three main tasks of information diffusion prediction, social bot detection, and misinformation detection. We also collect the publicly available dataset repository of information diffusion tasks with the available links and compare them based on six attributes affiliated to users and content: user information, social network, bot label, propagation content, propagation network, and veracity label. In addition, we discuss the limitations and future directions of current datasets and research topics to advance the future development of information diffusion. The dataset repository can be accessed at our website https://github.com/fuxiaG/Information-Diffusion-Datasets.

Optimization-Based Trajectory Planning for Tractor-Trailer Vehicles on Curvy Roads: A Progressively Increasing Sampling Number Method

In this work, we propose an optimization-based trajectory planner for tractor-trailer vehicles on curvy roads. The lack of analytical expression for the trailer's errors to the center line pose a great challenge to the trajectory planning for tractor-trailer vehicles. To address this issue, we first use geometric representations to characterize the lateral and orientation errors in Cartesian frame, where the errors would serve as the components of the cost function and the road edge constraints within our optimization process. Next, we generate a coarse trajectory to warm-start the subsequent optimization problems. On the other hand, to achieve a good approximation of the continuous-time kinematics, optimization-based methods usually discretize the kinematics with a large sampling number. This leads to an increase in the number of the variables and constraints, thus making the optimization problem difficult to solve. To address this issue, we design a Progressively Increasing Sampling Number Optimization (PISNO) framework. More specifically, we first find a nearly feasible trajectory with a small sampling number to warm-start the optimization process. Then, the sampling number is progressively increased, and the corresponding intermediate Optimal Control Problem (OCP) is solved in each iteration. Next, we further resample the obtained solution into a finer sampling period, and then use it to warm-start the intermediate OCP in next iteration. This process is repeated until reaching a threshold sampling number. Simulation and experiment results show the proposed method exhibits a good performance and less computational consumption over the benchmarks.

NTIRE 2025 challenge on Text to Image Generation Model Quality Assessment

This paper reports on the NTIRE 2025 challenge on Text to Image (T2I) generation model quality assessment, which will be held in conjunction with the New Trends in Image Restoration and Enhancement Workshop (NTIRE) at CVPR 2025. The aim of this challenge is to address the fine-grained quality assessment of text-to-image generation models. This challenge evaluates text-to-image models from two aspects: image-text alignment and image structural distortion detection, and is divided into the alignment track and the structural track. The alignment track uses the EvalMuse-40K, which contains around 40K AI-Generated Images (AIGIs) generated by 20 popular generative models. The alignment track has a total of 371 registered participants. A total of 1,883 submissions are received in the development phase, and 507 submissions are received in the test phase. Finally, 12 participating teams submitted their models and fact sheets. The structure track uses the EvalMuse-Structure, which contains 10,000 AI-Generated Images (AIGIs) with corresponding structural distortion mask. A total of 211 participants have registered in the structure track. A total of 1155 submissions are received in the development phase, and 487 submissions are received in the test phase. Finally, 8 participating teams submitted their models and fact sheets. Almost all methods have achieved better results than baseline methods, and the winning methods in both tracks have demonstrated superior prediction performance on T2I model quality assessment.

Diversity-Driven View Subset Selection for Indoor Novel View Synthesis

Novel view synthesis of indoor scenes can be achieved by capturing a monocular video sequence of the environment. However, redundant information caused by artificial movements in the input video data reduces the efficiency of scene modeling. To address this, we formulate the problem as a combinatorial optimization task for view subset selection. In this work, we propose a novel subset selection framework that integrates a comprehensive diversity-based measurement with well-designed utility functions. We provide a theoretical analysis of these utility functions and validate their effectiveness through extensive experiments. Furthermore, we introduce IndoorTraj, a novel dataset designed for indoor novel view synthesis, featuring complex and extended trajectories that simulate intricate human behaviors. Experiments on IndoorTraj show that our framework consistently outperforms baseline strategies while using only 5-20% of the data, highlighting its remarkable efficiency and effectiveness. Search for New Particles with Flying Quantum Sensors in Space

Recent advancements in space science and technologies offer exciting prospects for investigating novel research that is unattainable within terrestrial laboratories. Here we propose the implementation of space-based quantum sensing to explore ultralight new particles beyond the standard model. The central idea involves probing long-range interactions between spin ensembles of space quantum sensors and the particles residing within Earth, mediated by ultralight particles. We show that such interactions can be substantially enhanced in space platforms and thus increase the search sensitivity. In contrast to their terrestrial counterparts, space-based quantum searches exhibit remarkable velocity enhancements, approaching the first cosmic speed, and thus enables the exploration of unexplored parameter space concerning ultralight new particles. Furthermore, the substantial abundance of electrons and nucleons within Earth plays a crucial role in extending the scope of our mission. Our projected search sensitivity can surpass the sensitivities of both terrestrial experiments and proposals by up to approximately 7 orders of magnitude. We also briefly discuss other space mission, including ``space-ground integrated" network of quantum sensors for dark matter searches.

CMP: Cooperative Motion Prediction with Multi-Agent Communication

The confluence of the advancement of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) and the maturity of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication has enabled the capability of cooperative connected and automated vehicles (CAVs). Building on top of cooperative perception, this paper explores the feasibility and effectiveness of cooperative motion prediction. Our method, CMP, takes LiDAR signals as model input to enhance tracking and prediction capabilities. Unlike previous work that focuses separately on either cooperative perception or motion prediction, our framework, to the best of our knowledge, is the first to address the unified problem where CAVs share information in both perception and prediction modules. Incorporated into our design is the unique capability to tolerate realistic V2X transmission delays, while dealing with bulky perception representations. We also propose a prediction aggregation module, which unifies the predictions obtained by different CAVs and generates the final prediction. Through extensive experiments and ablation studies on the OPV2V and V2V4Real datasets, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in cooperative perception, tracking, and motion prediction. In particular, CMP reduces the average prediction error by 12.3% compared with the strongest baseline. Our work marks a significant step forward in the cooperative capabilities of CAVs, showcasing enhanced performance in complex scenarios. HRRPGraphNet: Make HRRPs to Be Graphs for Efficient Target Recognition

High Resolution Range Profiles (HRRP) have become a key area of focus in the domain of Radar Automatic Target Recognition (RATR). Despite the success of deep learning based HRRP recognition, these methods needs a large amount of training samples to generate good performance, which could be a severe challenge under non-cooperative circumstances. Currently, deep learning based models treat HRRP as sequences, which may lead to ignorance of the internal relationship of range cells. This letter introduces HRRPGraphNet, whose pivotal innovation is the transformation of HRRP data into a novel graph structure, utilizing a range cell amplitude(hyphen)based node vector and a range(hyphen)relative adjacency matrix. This graph(hyphen)based approach facilitates both local feature extraction via one(hyphen)dimensional convolution layers, global feature extraction through a graph convolution layer and a attention module. Experiments on the aircraft electromagnetic simulation dataset confirmed HRRPGraphNet superior accuracy and robustness, particularly in limited training sample environments, underscoring the potential of graph(hyphen)driven innovations in HRRP(hyphen)based RATR.
