Effects of a central dark matter core on time-delay cosmography with galaxy clusters

The central dark matter distribution probes the nature of dark matter and baryon physics, yet its impact on time-delay cosmography is not fully explored. We update previous analyses of the cluster-lensed quasar SDSS J1004+4112 and the supernova Refsdal in MACS J1149.5+2223 by replacing the main halo density profile from an elliptical Navarro-Frenk-White (NFW) profile to a cored elliptical NFW profile and investigating the impact of the central dark matter core on the Hubble constant $H_0$. We jointly infer $H_0$ and the dimensionless core size parameter $β=r_{\rm c}/r_{\rm s}$, while the Brightest Cluster Galaxy (BCG) is either tied to the scaling relation of cluster member galaxies or modeled separately, with its mass left free or assigned a Gaussian prior from the stellar mass estimate for a Chabrier or Salpeter initial mass function (IMF). For SDSS J1004+4112, constraints on both $β$ and $H_0$ strongly depend on the treatment of the BCG. A large core is implied when no prior is added to the BCG stellar mass, while a reasonable assumption on the BCG mass prefers a nearly cuspy halo with $β\sim 10^{-3}$. For MACS J1149.5+2223, a large core of $β\sim 0.5$ is obtained with no prior, while a modest core of $β=0.0410^{+0.0865}_{-0.0276}$ is preferred when the Salpeter IMF is assumed. The constraint on $H_0$ from MACS J1149.5+2223 is stable against the BCG treatment, supporting its robustness. For the Salpeter-prior case, we obtain $H_0=65.9^{+3.5}_{-3.4}\mathrm{~km~s^{-1}~Mpc^{-1}}$, and different BCG assumptions change the median $H_0$ by less than $1σ$. The core size constraints are translated into the self-interacting dark matter cross section, giving a 95% upper limit of $σ/m<0.035\,\mathrm{cm}^{2}\,\mathrm{g}^{-1}$ from SDSS J1004+4112 and the 68% range of $σ/m=0.071^{+0.15}_{-0.045}\,\mathrm{cm}^{2}\,\mathrm{g}^{-1}$ from MACS J1149.5+2223.

Holonomy and Integrability of $p$-Closed Foliations

Motivated by the Ekedahl-Shepherd-Barron-Taylor conjecture, we study arithmetic criteria for the global and local integrability of foliations in characteristic zero. Our main result is a finite-holonomy theorem for the regular parts of invariant prime divisors of corank one foliations which are \(p\)-closed for almost all primes. As a consequence, we give a complete proof for corank one foliations of the statement proposed by Ekedahl-Shepherd-Barron-Taylor: a foliation on a smooth projective variety which is \(p\)-closed for almost all primes is algebraically integrable whenever it admits a compact leaf. We also introduce a local analytic notion of \(p\)-closedness for foliation germs on normal complex varieties and formulate local conjectures relating it to meromorphic and holomorphic first integrals. We establish holomorphic integrability for analytically \(p\)-closed foliations with canonical singularities on smooth surfaces and on klt surface germs. Combining these local results with the finite-holonomy theorem, we obtain holomorphic first integrals for certain analytically \(p\)-closed non-dicritical surface germs and for analytically \(p\)-closed simple singularities in arbitrary dimension. Finally, we formulate a connection-theoretic counterpart to local holomorphic integrability in terms of flat meromorphic extensions of the Bott partial connection, and verify it in dimension two.

Agentic-SQL Revisited: Autonomy-Based Taxonomy and Empirical Benchmark Analysis for LLM Text-to-SQL

LLM-based Text-to-SQL progress is reported across heterogeneous benchmarks, backbones, and inference protocols, making cross-system comparison fragile. We reframe the field as a leaderboard aggregation: we collect the metrics authors themselves report and organize them along an inference-autonomy axis spanning constrained, in-context, iterative, agentic, and reasoning-internalized generation, with traceable provenance for every cell. To anchor the aggregation empirically, we run a focused case study on Spider, comparing 8B open-source backbones with and without chain-of-thought (CoT) supervision against few-shot DeepSeek~V3 and GLM-4 baselines. Four patterns emerge: Spider gains transfer unevenly to BIRD and Spider~2.0; autonomy buys robustness at non-trivial cost; reasoning internalization sits between answer-only decoding and externally orchestrated agents; and CoT gains concentrate on Hard and Extra-Hard queries. We release a Python harness mirroring the autonomy axis so that future methods can be added directly to the leaderboard.

Positivity of exterior products of tangent bundles and their subsheaves

We study positivity properties of exterior powers of tangent bundles and their subsheaves. We prove a structure theorem for projective manifolds whose third exterior power of the tangent bundle is nef. We also prove a rigidity theorem for ample subsheaves of $\wedge^2 T_X$ under a rank condition. Finally, we study regular foliations whose exterior powers are strictly nef.

Learning Preference Adaptation for Large Language Model Personalization via Verbal Reinforcement Learning

Natural language user preferences provide an interpretable interface for LLM personalization. However, universal preference summaries often contain information irrelevant to a particular downstream task. Directly supplying the full preference summary therefore wastes context capacity and introduces cross-task distraction, while manually designing task-specific preference views is difficult to scale. In this work, we study \emph{task-specific preference adaptation}: given a universal user preference summary and a downstream task, derive a task-conditioned representation that preserves sufficient decision-relevant evidence while removing redundant context. To this end, we propose \textsc{AlignXada}, a training-free meta-learning framework that induces reusable textual refinement policies for adapting universal preference summaries to task-specific ones. The refinement policy is iteratively optimized by a meta learner through verbal reinforcement learning. Across 13 tasks and three downstream models (39 task--model cells), \textsc{AlignXada} achieves an average gain of 3.82 points, improving 33 cells while retaining only 22.8\% of the original profile tokens and outperforming RAG in 36 cells. An extended faithfulness analysis further shows that the refined profiles remain largely grounded in the source preferences while preserving task-relevant personalization signals, suggesting that profile-side adaptation serves as a practical complement to universal memory construction for lifelong personalized agents.

ECHO: Entropy-Confidence Hybrid Optimization for Test-Time Reinforcement Learning

Test-time reinforcement learning generates multiple candidate answers via repeated rollouts and performs online updates using pseudo-labels constructed by majority voting. To reduce overhead and improve exploration, prior work introduces tree structured rollouts, which share reasoning prefixes and branch at key nodes to improve sampling efficiency. However, this paradigm still faces two challenges: (1) high entropy branching can trigger rollout collapse, where the branching budget concentrates on a few trajectories with consecutive high-entropy segments, rapidly reducing the number of effective branches; (2) early pseudo-labels are noisy and biased, which can induce self-reinforcing overfitting, causing the policy to sharpen prematurely and suppress exploration. To address these issues, we propose Entropy Confidence Hybrid Group Relative Policy Optimization (ECHO). During rollout, ECHO jointly leverages local entropy and group level confidence to adaptively control branch width, and further introduces online confidence-based pruning to terminate persistently low confidence branches, avoiding high entropy traps and mitigating collapse. During policy updates, ECHO employs confidence adaptive clipping and an entropy confidence hybrid advantage shaping approach to enhance training robustness and mitigate early stage bias. Experiments demonstrate that ECHO achieves consistent gains on multiple mathematical and visual reasoning benchmarks, and generalizes more effectively under a limited rollout budget.

Multiprotocol Wireless Timer Synchronization for IoT Systems

Accurate time synchronization is essential for Internet of Things (IoT) systems, where multiple distributed nodes must share a common time base for coordinated sensing and data fusion. However, conventional synchronization approaches suffer from nondeterministic transmission latency, limited precision, or restricted bidirectional functionality. This paper presents a protocol-independent wireless timer synchronization method that exploits radio timeslots to transmit precisely timestamped beacons in a proprietary radio mode. By decoupling synchronization from upper-layer packet retransmissions and leveraging hardware-timed radio events, the proposed approach significantly reduces scheduling uncertainty and achieves nanosecond-level synchronization accuracy. Comprehensive experiments evaluate the impacts of synchronization frequency, RSSI, BLE connection interval, and throughput on synchronization performance. The results demonstrate that an optimal synchronization frequency of 1000 Hz yields an approximately 20 ns delay in the absence of communication stack activity while maintaining sub-500 ns accuracy under most realistic BLE traffic conditions. Furthermore, larger connection intervals, lower application throughput, and higher RSSI consistently improve synchronization quality by reducing radio resource contention and packet loss. The proposed scheme provides a general and high-precision synchronization solution suitable for resource-constrained IoT systems.

Passive Synchronization of Nonlocal Franson Interferometry for Fiber-Based Quantum Networks Using Co-propagating Classical Clock Signals

We demonstrate a robust, high-visibility nonlocal Franson interferometry for fiber-based quantum networks by co-propagating a classical Radio-over-Fiber clock signal with energy-time entangled photon pairs in the same fiber. Utilizing cross-band allocation (O-band for classical, L-band for quantum signals), the spontaneous Raman scattering noise photons are effectively suppressed. At the same time, their environmental delay fluctuations remain highly correlated for common-mode noise cancellation, achieving a passive synchronization with picoseconds precision. Over 50 km of single-mode fiber, this co-propagation enables nonlocal quantum interference with a visibility of (88.35\pm3.62)%, without relying on external dedicated timing infrastructure. This work provides a practical, scalable synchronization solution for metropolitan-scale entanglement-based quantum networks.

Co-Propagation of Quantum Time Synchronization and Optical Frequency Transfer over a 122 km Hollow-Core Fiber

The co-propagation of quantum and classical signals through shared optical fibers is crucial for scalable quantum networks. However, this coexistence is fundamentally limited by spontaneous Raman scattering (SpRS) from the bright classical light, which generates overwhelming noise that disrupts the single-photon-level quantum signals. Here, we overcome this long-standing challenge by leveraging the inherently ultralow nonlinearity of hollow-core fiber (HCF) to suppress SpRS noise. By operating both the quantum time synchronization (QTS) and classical optical frequency transfer (OFT) signals within the telecom C-band, separated by only ~10 nm, we successfully demonstrate their simultaneous transmission over a 122-km HCF link. With a classical OFT power of 1 mW, the QTS performance shows negligible degradation, maintaining sub-picosecond time stability at 2000 s, while the OFT achieves a fractional frequency instability of 10^-20. Near-sub-picosecond QTS stability is preserved even when the classical power is increased to 3 mW. Furthermore, simulations based on our experimental data indicate that with next-generation low-loss HCF, the platform can tolerate classical powers beyond 10 mW and extend the QTS range to over 500 km. By realizing a unified quantum-classical time-frequency distribution framework, this work establishes HCF as a highly capable and practical platform for future scalable quantum networks.

Hard Negative Sampling via Large Language Models for Recommendation

Hard negative sampling improves recommendation performance by accelerating convergence and sharpening the decision boundary. However, most existing methods rely on heuristic strategies, selecting negatives from a fixed candidate pool. Lacking semantic awareness, these methods often misclassify items that align with users' semantic interests as negatives, resulting in False Hard Negative Samples (FHNS). Such FHNS inject noisy supervision and hinder the model's optimal performance. To address this challenge, we propose HNLMRec, a generative semantic negative sampling framework. Leveraging the semantic reasoning capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs), HNLMRec directly generates negative samples that are behaviorally distinct yet semantically relevant with respect to user preferences. Furthermore, we integrate collaborative filtering signals into the LLM via supervised fine-tuning, guiding the model to synthesize more reliable and informative hard negatives. Extensive experiments on multiple real-world datasets demonstrate that HNLMRec significantly outperforms traditional methods and LLM-enhanced baselines, while effectively mitigating popularity bias and data sparsity, thereby improving generalization.

Text as a Universal Interface for Transferable Personalization

We study the problem of personalization in large language models (LLMs). Prior work predominantly represents user preferences as implicit, model-specific vectors or parameters, yielding opaque ``black-box'' profiles that are difficult to interpret and transfer across models and tasks. In contrast, we advocate natural language as a universal, model- and task-agnostic interface for preference representation. The formulation leads to interpretable and reusable preference descriptions, while naturally supporting continual evolution as new interactions are observed. To learn such representations, we introduce a two-stage training framework that combines supervised fine-tuning on high-quality synthesized data with reinforcement learning to optimize long-term utility and cross-task transferability. Based on this framework, we develop AlignXplore+, a universal preference reasoning model that generates textual preference summaries. Experiments on nine benchmarks show that our 8B model achieves state-of-the-art performanc -- outperforming substantially larger open-source models -- while exhibiting strong transferability across tasks, model families, and interaction formats.

Prior-AttUNet: Retinal OCT Fluid Segmentation Based on Normal Anatomical Priors and Attention Gating

Accurate segmentation of macular edema, a hallmark pathological feature in vision-threatening conditions such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema, is essential for clinical diagnosis and management. To overcome the challenges of segmenting fluid regions in optical coherence tomography (OCT) images-notably ambiguous boundaries and cross-device heterogeneity-this study introduces Prior-AttUNet, a segmentation model augmented with generative anatomical priors. The framework adopts a hybrid dual-path architecture that integrates a generative prior pathway with a segmentation network. A variational autoencoder supplies multi-scale normative anatomical priors, while the segmentation backbone incorporates densely connected blocks and spatial pyramid pooling modules to capture richer contextual information. Additionally, a novel triple-attention mechanism, guided by anatomical priors, dynamically modulates feature importance across decoding stages, substantially enhancing boundary delineation. Evaluated on the public RETOUCH benchmark, Prior-AttUNet achieves excellent performance across three OCT imaging devices (Cirrus, Spectralis, and Topcon), with mean Dice similarity coefficients of 93.93%, 95.18%, and 93.47%, respectively. The model maintains a low computational cost of 0.37 TFLOPs, striking an effective balance between segmentation precision and inference efficiency. These results demonstrate its potential as a reliable tool for automated clinical analysis.

Spin-flop driven interfacial tunneling magnetoresistance in an antiferromagnetic tunnel junction

The utilization of two-dimensional (2D) materials in magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) has shown excellent performance and rich physics. As for 2D antiferromagnets, the magnetic moments in different layers respond asynchronously and can be configured at various states under different magnetic fields, showing the possibility of efficient magnetic and electrical tunability. In this report, A-type antiferromagnetic (AFM) material (Fe0.5Co0.5)5GeTe2 (FCGT) works as electrodes to realize full van der Waals magnetic tunnel junctions. Owing to the interfacial effect, the even-layer FCGT, although with zero net magnetization, exhibits spin selectivity in MTJ architecture contributing to a tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) reaching about 25% at a low operating current 1 nA at 100 K and persists near room temperature. Due to the surface spin-flop (SSF) effect in antiferromagnetic FCGT, the alternation flexibility between the volatile and nonvolatile memory behavior is achieved. The interfacial TMR can be tuned efficiently in amplitude and even sign under different bias currents and temperatures. These findings show precise magnetoelectric manipulation in MTJs based on 2D antiferromagnets and highlight the promise of 2D antiferromagnets for spintronic devices.

The Hubble constant from the improved lens modeling of cluster-lensed supernova Refsdal with new spectroscopic redshifts and the Jackknife method

Time-delay cosmology offers an alternative approach to measuring the Hubble constant ($H_0$), which is distinct from the cosmic distance ladder and cosmic microwave background radiation methods. In this study, we present an improved strong lens mass modeling analysis of the cluster-lensed supernova Refsdal, incorporating the latest spectroscopic redshift data from the MUSE on the Very Large Telescope and the James Webb Space Telescope CANUCS/Technicolor. The robustness of our lens models is confirmed using the Jackknife method. From our analysis that considers four lens mass models with different assumptions on profiles of dark matter halos and external perturbations, we derive a constraint on the Hubble constant of $H_0=66.0\pm{4.3}\Mpc$ after combining best-fitted values of the four lens models.

C3DE: Causal-Aware Collaborative Neural Controlled Differential Equation for Long-Term Urban Crowd Flow Prediction

Long-term urban crowd flow prediction suffers significantly from cumulative sampling errors, due to increased sequence lengths and sampling intervals, which inspired us to leverage Neural Controlled Differential Equations (NCDEs) to mitigate this issue. However, regarding the crucial influence of Points of Interest (POIs) evolution on long-term crowd flow, the multi-timescale asynchronous dynamics between crowd flow and POI distribution, coupled with latent spurious causality, poses challenges to applying NCDEs for long-term urban crowd flow prediction. To this end, we propose Causal-aware Collaborative neural CDE (C3DE) to model the long-term dynamic of crowd flow. Specifically, we introduce a dual-path NCDE as the backbone to effectively capture the asynchronous evolution of collaborative signals across multiple time scales. Then, we design a dynamic correction mechanism with the counterfactual-based causal effect estimator to quantify the causal impact of POIs on crowd flow and minimize the accumulation of spurious correlations. Finally, we leverage a predictor for long-term prediction with the fused collaborative signals of POI and crowd flow. Extensive experiments on three real-world datasets demonstrate the superior performance of C3DE, particularly in cities with notable flow fluctuations.

RAGAR: Retrieval Augmented Personalized Image Generation Guided by Recommendation

Personalized image generation is crucial for improving the user experience, as it renders reference images into preferred ones according to user visual preferences. Although effective, existing methods face two main issues. First, existing methods treat all items in the user historical sequence equally when extracting user preferences, overlooking the varying semantic similarities between historical items and the reference item. Disproportionately high weights for low-similarity items distort users' visual preferences for the reference item. Second, existing methods heavily rely on consistency between generated and reference images to optimize the generation, which leads to underfitting user preferences and hinders personalization. To address these issues, we propose Retrieval Augment Personalized Image GenerAtion guided by Recommendation (RAGAR). Our approach uses a retrieval mechanism to assign different weights to historical items according to their similarities to the reference item, thereby extracting more refined users' visual preferences for the reference item. Then we introduce a novel rank task based on the multi-modal ranking model to optimize the personalization of the generated images instead of forcing depend on consistency. Extensive experiments and human evaluations on three real-world datasets demonstrate that RAGAR achieves significant improvements in both personalization and semantic metrics compared to five baselines.

Repeated Padding+: Simple yet Effective Data Augmentation Plugin for Sequential Recommendation

Sequential recommendation aims to provide users with personalized suggestions based on their historical interactions. When training sequential models, padding is a widely adopted technique for two main reasons: 1) The vast majority of models can only handle fixed-length sequences; 2) Batching-based training needs to ensure that the sequences in each batch have the same length. The special value \emph{0} is usually used as the padding content, which does not contain the actual information and is ignored in the model calculations. This common-sense padding strategy leads us to a problem that has never been explored before: Can we fully utilize this idle input space by padding other content to further improve model performance and training efficiency? In this work, we propose a simple yet effective padding method called Repeated Padding+ (RepPad+). Specifically, we use the original interaction sequences as the padding content and fill it to the padding positions during model training. This operation can be performed a finite number of times or repeated until the input sequences' length reaches the maximum limit. For those sequences that can not pad full original data, we draw inspiration from the Sliding Windows strategy and intercept consecutive subsequences to fill in the idle space. Our RepPad+ can be viewed as a sequence-level data augmentation strategy. Unlike most existing works, our method contains no trainable parameters or hyperparameters and is a plug-and-play data augmentation operation. Extensive experiments on various categories of sequential models and seven real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our approach. The average recommendation performance improvement is up to 84.11% on GRU4Rec and 35.34% on SASRec. We also provide in-depth analysis and explanation of what makes RepPad+ effective from multiple perspectives.
