A Spectral Identifiability Threshold for Dissipative Rate Recovery from Truncated Liouvillian Spectra

Open quantum systems lose energy and phase coherence through different dissipative processes, but these processes can produce overlapping dynamical signatures. The Liouvillian spectrum summarizes how such a system relaxes, yet it is not obvious how much of that spectrum is needed to distinguish the underlying dissipation rates. We study this question for amplitude damping and dephasing in a six-qubit Lindblad model whose spectrum can be derived analytically. We retain only the slowest non-steady spectral modes and ask how many are required before each dissipative rate becomes recoverable. We show that population modes contain no dephasing information, which creates a lower bound of D = 2^n retained modes for uniform dephasing identifiability in the relevant rate regime. The measured recovery threshold reaches this bound at n = 4,5,6, while n = 3 remains above it. At n = 6, least squares achieves a mean joint absolute error of order 10^-9, compared with 4.355 x 10^-4 for four tabular learning methods. Robustness tests show that this advantage weakens when the spectra are perturbed and when a transverse field breaks the commuting structure. These results show that the amount and structure of retained spectral information can determine whether dissipative parameters are recoverable, independently of the estimator used. The present conclusions apply to noise-free simulator spectra rather than measurement-derived spectra.

Decoding Golay Codes and their Related Lattices: A PAC Code Perspective

In this work, we propose a decoding method of Golay codes from the perspective of Polarization Adjusted Convolutional (PAC) codes. By invoking Forney's cubing construction of Golay codes and their generators $G^*(8,7)/(8,4)$, we found different construction methods of Golay codes from PAC codes, which result in an efficient parallel list decoding algorithm with near-maximum likelihood performance. Compared with existing methods, our method can get rid of index permutation and codeword puncturing. Using the new decoding method, some related lattices, such as Leech lattice $\Lambda_{24}$ and its principal sublattice $H_{24}$, can be also decoded efficiently.

Pixel-Sensitive and Robust Steganography Based on Polar Codes

Steganography is an information hiding technique for covert communication. The core issue in steganography design is the rate-distortion coding problem. Polar codes, which have been proven to achieve the rate-distortion bound for any binary symmetric source, are utilized to design a steganographic scheme that can reach the embedding capacity for the Distortion-Limited Sender problem in certain cases. In adaptive steganography, for attack scenarios where each noise element can have different intensities, existing steganographic coding methods fail to resist such attacks. In this paper, we propose a pixel-sensitive and robust steganographic scheme based on polar codes. Our steganographic scheme not only matches the adaptive distortion well but is also robust against sophisticated noise attacks. Futher, it is proven that our scheme achieves the embedding capacity in certain cases. Experimentally, a steganographic scheme can be designed and implemented with a secret message error rate at the $10^{-5}$ level when the attack noise is known to both the sender and the receiver. This demonstrates its significant robustness.
