RPM-Net Reciprocal Point MLP Network for Unknown Network Security Threat Detection

Effective detection of unknown network security threats in multi-class imbalanced environments is critical for maintaining cyberspace security. Current methods focus on learning class representations but face challenges with unknown threat detection, class imbalance, and lack of interpretability, limiting their practical use. To address this, we propose RPM-Net, a novel framework that introduces reciprocal point mechanism to learn "non-class" representations for each known attack category, coupled with adversarial margin constraints that provide geometric interpretability for unknown threat detection. RPM-Net++ further enhances performance through Fisher discriminant regularization. Experimental results show that RPM-Net achieves superior performance across multiple metrics including F1-score, AUROC, and AUPR-OUT, significantly outperforming existing methods and offering practical value for real-world network security applications. CoTDeceptor:Adversarial Code Obfuscation Against CoT-Enhanced LLM Code Agents

LLM-based code agents(e.g., ChatGPT Codex) are increasingly deployed as detector for code review and security auditing tasks. Although CoT-enhanced LLM vulnerability detectors are believed to provide improved robustness against obfuscated malicious code, we find that their reasoning chains and semantic abstraction processes exhibit exploitable systematic weaknesses. This allows attackers to covertly embed malicious logic, bypass code review, and propagate backdoored components throughout real-world software supply chains. To investigate this issue, we present CoTDeceptor, the first adversarial code obfuscation framework targeting CoT-enhanced LLM detectors. CoTDeceptor autonomously constructs evolving, hard-to-reverse multi-stage obfuscation strategy chains that effectively disrupt CoT-driven detection logic. We obtained malicious code provided by security enterprise, experimental results demonstrate that CoTDeceptor achieves stable and transferable evasion performance against state-of-the-art LLMs and vulnerability detection agents. CoTDeceptor bypasses 14 out of 15 vulnerability categories, compared to only 2 bypassed by prior methods. Our findings highlight potential risks in real-world software supply chains and underscore the need for more robust and interpretable LLM-powered security analysis systems.

Hypersurfaces of constant sum Hessian curvature in Hyperbolic space

In this paper, we study the asymptotic Plateau problem in hyperbolic space for constant sum Hessian curvature. More precisely, given a asymptotic boundary $\Gamma$, one seeks a complete hypersurface $\Sigma$ in $\mathbb{H}^{n+1}$ satisfying $\sigma_{n-1}(\kappa)+\alpha\sigma_{n}(\kappa)=\sigma\in (0,n),\,\,\partial \Sigma=\Gamma$ where $\alpha$ is a non-negative number.

Long distance local local oscillator continuous variable quantum key distribution with digital signal processing

Quantum key distribution relying on the principles of quantum mechanics enables two parties to produce a shared random secret key, thereby ensuring the security of data transmission. Continuous variable quantum key distribution (CV-QKD) is widely applied because it can be well combined with standard telecommunication technology. Compared to CV-QKD with a transmitting local oscillator, the proposal of CV-QKD with a local local oscillator overcomes the limitation that local oscillator will attenuate as transmission distance increases, providing new possibilities in long-distance transmission. However, challenges still persist in practical long-distance transmission, including data sampling and recovery under low signal-to-noise ratio conditions. In order to better recover data and reduce the additional excess noise, we propose the least squares fitting algorithm to get more accurate sampling data and complete more accurate phase compensation.Herein, we demonstrate the long-distance local local oscillator CV-QKD experiment which have considered the effect of finite-size block over 120 km of standard optical fiber with high efficient real-time post-processing. The results not only verify the good performance of the system over long distance, but also paves the way for large-scale quantum secure communications in the future.

A Hierarchical Terminal Recognition Approach based on Network Traffic Analysis

Recognizing the type of connected devices to a network helps to perform security policies. In smart grids, identifying massive number of grid metering terminals based on network traffic analysis is almost blank and existing research has not proposed a targeted end-to-end model to solve the flow classification problem. Therefore, we proposed a hierarchical terminal recognition approach that applies the details of grid data. We have formed a two-level model structure by segmenting the grid data, which uses the statistical characteristics of network traffic and the specific behavior characteristics of grid metering terminals. Moreover, through the selection and reconstruction of features, we combine three algorithms to achieve accurate identification of terminal types that transmit network traffic. We conduct extensive experiments on a real dataset containing three types of grid metering terminals, and the results show that our research has improved performance compared to common recognition models. The combination of an autoencoder, K-Means and GradientBoost algorithm achieved the best recognition rate with F1 value of 98.3%.

Fixed-State Log-MAP Detection for Intensity-Modulation and Direct-Detection Optical Systems over Dispersion-Uncompensated Links

In this paper, an optimized detection based on log-maximum a posteriori estimation with the fixed number of surviving states (fixed-state Log-MAP) is proposed to cooperate with equalizers to deal with the spectral distortions caused by limited bandwidth and chromatic dispersion for intensity-modulation and direct-detection (IM/DD) optical systems. The equalizers compensates the spectral distortions and optimized detection decodes the useful bits from the noise. For accurately extracting the bits from more serious noise, the optimized detection with larger memory length is required. However, the classical optimized detection such as maximum likelihood-sequence estimation (MLSE) requires exponential-growing computational complexity and storage with the increasing memory length. The fixed-state Log-MAP detection can decrease the computational complexity and storage from the exponential order to linear order. Therefore, the fixed-state Log-MAP detection can compensate more distortions compared to MLSE under the same hardware condition. We experimentally verify the fixed-state Log-MAP detection in a C-band 64 Gbit/s IM/DD on-off keying optical system over a 100 km dispersion-uncompensated link. Under the same hardware condition, the fixed-state Log-MAP detection has a 2 dB improvement of receiver sensitivity compared to MLSE. In conclusion, the fixed-state Log-MAP detection shows the potential for practical IM/DD optical systems.

Modified QPSK Partition Algorithm Based on MAP Estimation for Probabilistically-Shaped 16-QAM

Probabilistic shaping (PS) is investigated as a potential technique to approach the Shannon limit. However, it has been proved that conventional carrier phase recovery (CPR) algorithm designed for uniform distribution may have extra penalty in PS systems. In this paper, we find that the performance of QPSK partition algorithm is degenerated when PS is implemented. To solve this issue, a modified QPSK partition algorithm that jointly optimizes the amplitude decision threshold and filter weight is proposed, where the optimization of decision threshold is based on maximum a posterior probability (MAP) estimation. Different from the conventional decision methods which commonly use Euclidean distance metric, the MAP-based decision introduces the statistical characteristics of the received signals to obtain an accurate amplitude partition. In addition, the filter weight is optimized for different decision thresholds to enhance the tolerance of ASE-induced phase noise. We verify the feasibility of the proposed algorithm in a 56 GBaud PS 16-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM) system. The proposed algorithm reduces the error of phase noise estimation by nearly half. Compared with conventional QPSK partition, the proposed algorithm could narrow the gap with theoretical mutual information (MI) by more than 0.1 bit/symbol. The channel capacity is increased by 4.2%, 4.3% and 3.6% with signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) from 8 dB to 10 dB respectively. These observations show that the proposed algorithm is a promising method to relieve the penalty of QPSK partition algorithm in PS systems.

Low-Complexity Linear Equalizers for OTFS Exploiting Two-Dimensional Fast Fourier Transform

Orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation can effectively convert a doubly dispersive channel into an almost non-fading channel in the delay-Doppler domain. However, one critical issue for OTFS is the very high complexity of equalizers. In this letter, we first reveal the doubly block circulant feature of OTFS channel represented in the delay-Doppler domain. By exploiting this unique feature, we further propose zero-forcing (ZF) and minimum mean squared error (MMSE) equalizers that can be efficiently implemented with the two-dimensional fast Fourier transform. The complexity of our proposed equalizers is gracefully reduced from $\mathcal{O}\left(\left(NM\right)^{3}\right)$ to $\mathcal{O}\left(NM\mathrm{log_{2}}\left(NM\right)\right)$, where $N$ and $M$ are the number of OTFS symbols and subcarriers, respectively. Analysis and simulation results show that compared with other existing linear equalizers for OTFS, our proposed linear equalizers enjoy a much lower computational complexity without any performance loss.

Blind Channel Separation in Massive MIMO System under Pilot Spoofing and Jamming Attack

We consider a channel separation approach to counter the pilot attack in a massive MIMO system, where malicious users (MUs) perform pilot spoofing and jamming attack (PSJA) in uplink by sending symbols to the basestation (BS) during the channel estimation (CE) phase of the legitimate users (LUs). More specifically, the PSJA strategies employed by the MUs may include (i) sending the random symbols according to arbitrary stationary or non-stationary distributions that are unknown to the BS; (ii) sending the jamming symbols that are correlative to those of the LUs. We analyze the empirical distribution of the received pilot signals (ED-RPS) at the BS, and prove that its characteristic function (CF) asymptotically approaches to the product of the CFs of the desired signal (DS) and the noise, where the DS is the product of the channel matrix and the signal sequences sent by the LUs/MUs. These observations motivate a novel two-step blind channel separation method, wherein we first estimate the CF of DS from the ED-RPS and then extract the alphabet of the DS to separate the channels. Both analysis and simulation results show that the proposed method achieves good channel separation performance in massive MIMO systems.

Towards Scalable Subscription Aggregation and Real Time Event Matching in a Large-Scale Content-Based Network

Although many scalable event matching algorithms have been proposed to achieve scalability for large-scale content-based networks, content-based publish/subscribe networks (especially for large-scale real time systems) still suffer performance deterioration when subscription scale increases. While subscription aggregation techniques can be useful to reduce the amount of subscription dissemination traffic and the subscription table size by exploiting the similarity among subscriptions, efficient subscription aggregation is not a trivial task to accomplish. Previous research works have proved that it is either a NP-Complete or a co-NP complete problem. In this paper, we propose DLS (Discrete Label Set), a novel subscription representation model, and design algorithms to achieve the mapping from traditional Boolean predicate model to the DLS model. Based on the DLS model, we propose a subscription aggregation algorithm with O(1) time complexity in most cases, and an event matching algorithm with O(1) time complexity. The significant performance improvement is at the cost of memory consumption and controllable false positive rate. Our theoretical analysis shows that these algorithms are inherently scalable and can achieve real time event matching in a large-scale content-based publish/subscribe network. We discuss the tradeoff between memory, false positive rate and partition granules of content space. Experimental results show that proposed algorithms achieve expected performance. With the increasing of computer memory capacity and the dropping of memory price, more and more large-scale real time applications can benefit from our proposed DLS model, such as stock quote distribution, earthquake monitoring, and severe weather alert.

Sphere Decoder with Box Optimization for FTN Non-orthogonal FDM System

In 1975, the pioneering work of J. E. Mazo showed the potential faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) gain of single-carrier binary signal. If the inter-symbol interference is eliminated by an optimal detector, the FTN single-carrier binary signal can transmit 24.7% more bits than the Nyquist signal without any loss of bit error rate performance, which is known as the Mazo limit. In this paper, we apply sphere decoder (SD) with box optimization (BO) to reduce inter-carrier interference (ICI) in FTN non-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (FTN-NOFDM) system. Compared with the conventional SD, SD with BO can achieve the same performance to reduce ICI, but its average number of expanded nodes in search process is significantly decreased especially for high-order modulation format, which can reduce the complexity of the receiver. When the bandwidth compression factor $\alpha$ is set to 0.802, the transmission rate of QPSK-modulated FTN-NOFDM is 24.7% faster than the Nyquist rate, and it has almost the same performance as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), which agrees well with the Mazo limit. The QPSK-modulated FTN-NOFDM with $\alpha$ equal to 0.5 (the spectral efficiency is 4 bit/s/Hz) outperforms 16QAM-modulated OFDM by about 1.5 dB. The 16QAM-modulated FTN-NOFDM with $\alpha$ equal to 0.67 and 0.5 (the spectral efficiency is 6 bit/s/Hz and 8 bit/s/Hz, respectively) outperforms 64QAM-modulated and 256QAM-modulated OFDM by about 1.5 dB and 2 dB, respectively. Therefore, FTN-NOFDM will be a promising modulation scheme for the future bandwidth-limited wireless communications.

An Improved Diversity Combining Receiver for Layered ACO-FOFDM in IM/DD Systems

In this paper, an improved receiver based on diversity combining is proposed to improve the bit error rate (BER) performance of layered asymmetrically clipped optical fast orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (ACO-FOFDM) for intensity-modulated and direct-detected (IM/DD) optical transmission systems. Layered ACO-FOFDM can compensate the weakness of traditional ACO-FOFDM in low spectral efficiency, the utilization of discrete cosine transform in FOFDM system instead of fast Fourier transform in OFDM system can reduce the computational complexity without any influence on BER performance. The BER performances of layered ACO-FOFDM system with improved receiver based on diversity combining and DC-offset FOFDM (DCO-FOFDM) system with optimal DC-bias are compared at the same spectral efficiency. Simulation results show that under different optical bit energy to noise power ratios, layered ACO-FOFDM system with improved receiver has 2.86dB, 5.26dB and 5.72dB BER performance advantages at forward error correction limit over DCO-FOFDM system when the spectral efficiencies are 1 bit/s/Hz, 2 bits/s/Hz and 3 bits/s/Hz, respectively. Layered ACO-FOFDM system with improved receiver based on diversity combining is suitable for application in the adaptive IM/DD systems with zero DC-bias.

Faster-than-Nyquist Non-Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing for Visible Light Communications

In this paper, we propose a faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) non-orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (NOFDM) scheme for visible light communications (VLC) where the multiplexing/demultiplexing employs the inverse fractional cosine transform (IFrCT)/FrCT. Different to the common fractional Fourier transform-based NOFDM (FrFT-NOFDM) signal, FrCT-based NOFDM (FrCT-NOFDM) signal is real-valued which can be directly applied to the VLC systems without the expensive upconversion. Thus, FrCT-NOFDM is more suitable for the cost-sensitive VLC systems. Meanwhile, under the same transmission rate, FrCT-NOFDM signal occupies smaller bandwidth compared to OFDM signal. When the bandwidth compression factor $\alpha$ is set to $0.8$, $20\%$ bandwidth saving can be obtained. Therefore, FrCT-NOFDM has higher spectral efficiency and suffers less high-frequency distortion compared to OFDM, which benefits the bandwidth-limited VLC systems. As the simulation results show, bit error rate (BER) performance of FrCT-NOFDM with $\alpha$ of $0.9$ or $0.8$ is better than that of OFDM. Moreover, FrCT-NOFDM has a superior security performance. In conclusion, FrCT-NOFDM shows great potential for application in the future VLC systems.

BER Analysis of Decision-Feedback Multiple Symbol Detection in Noncoherent MIMO Ultra-Wideband Systems

In this paper, we investigate noncoherent multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) ultra-wideband (UWB) systems where the signal is encoded by differential space-time block code (DSTBC). DSTBC enables noncoherent MIMO UWB systems to achieve diversity gain. However, the traditional noncoherent symbol-by-symbol differential detection (DD) for DSTBC-UWB suffers from performance degradation compared with the coherent detection. We introduce a noncoherent multiple symbol detection (MSD) scheme to enhance the performance of DSTBC-UWB system. Although the MSD scheme can boost the performance more as the observation window size gets to larger, the complexity of the exhaustive search for MSD also exponentially increases in terms of the window size. To decrease the computational complexity, the concept of decision-feedback (DF) is introduced to MSD for DSTBC-UWB in this paper. The resultant DF-MSD yields reasonable complexity and also solid performance improvement. We provide the bit error rate (BER) analysis for the proposed DF-MSD. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results validate the proposed scheme.
