Democratizing Music Therapy: LLM-Based Automated EEG Analysis and Progress Tracking for Low-Cost Home Devices

Home-based music therapy devices require accessible and cost-effective solutions for users to understand and track their therapeutic progress. Traditional physiological signal analysis, particularly EEG interpretation, relies heavily on domain experts, creating barriers to scalability and home adoption. Meanwhile, few experts are capable of interpreting physiological signal data while also making targeted music recommendations. While large language models (LLMs) have shown promise in various domains, their application to automated physiological report generation for music therapy represents an unexplored task. We present a prototype system that leverages LLMs to bridge this gap -- transforming raw EEG and cardiovascular data into human-readable therapeutic reports and personalized music recommendations. Unlike prior work focusing on real-time physiological adaptation during listening, our approach emphasizes post-session analysis and interpretable reporting, enabling non-expert users to comprehend their psychophysiological states and track therapeutic outcomes over time. By integrating signal processing modules with LLM-based reasoning agents, the system provides a practical and low-cost solution for short-term progress monitoring in home music therapy contexts. This work demonstrates the feasibility of applying LLMs to a novel task -- democratizing access to physiology-driven music therapy through automated, interpretable reporting.

Chance-Constrained Neural MPC under Uncontrollable Agents via Sequential Convex Programming

This work investigates the challenge of ensuring safety guarantees in the presence of uncontrollable agents, whose behaviors are stochastic and depend on both their own and the system's states. We present a neural model predictive control (MPC) framework that predicts the trajectory of the uncontrollable agent using a predictor learned from offline data. To provide formal probabilistic guarantees on prediction errors despite policy-induced distribution shifts, we propose a region-wise robust conformal prediction scheme to construct time-dependent uncertainty bounds, which are integrated into the MPC formulation. To solve the resulting non-convex, discontinuous optimization problem, we propose a two-loop iterative sequential convex programming algorithm. The inner loop solves convexified subproblems with fixed error bounds, while the outer loop refines these bounds based on updated control sequences. We establish convergence guarantees and analyze the optimality of the algorithm. We illustrate our method with an autonomous driving scenario involving interactive pedestrians. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach achieves superior safety and efficiency compared to baseline methods, with success rates exceeding 99.5% while maintaining higher average speeds in multi-pedestrian scenarios.

SoftHGNN: Soft Hypergraph Neural Networks for General Visual Recognition

Visual recognition relies on understanding the semantics of image tokens and their complex interactions. Mainstream self-attention methods, while effective at modeling global pair-wise relations, fail to capture high-order associations inherent in real-world scenes and often suffer from redundant computation. Hypergraphs extend conventional graphs by modeling high-order interactions and offer a promising framework for addressing these limitations. However, existing hypergraph neural networks typically rely on static and hard hyperedge assignments, which lead to redundant hyperedges and overlooking the continuity of visual semantics. In this work, we present Soft Hypergraph Neural Networks (SoftHGNN), a lightweight plug-and-play hypergraph computation method for late-stage semantic reasoning in existing vision pipelines. Our SoftHGNN introduces the concept of soft hyperedges, where each vertex is associated with hyperedges via continuous and differentiable participation weights rather than hard binary assignments. These weights are produced by measuring similarities between vertex features and a small set of learnable hyperedge prototypes, yielding input-adaptive and semantically rich soft hyperedges. Using soft hyperedges as the medium for message aggregation and dissemination, SoftHGNN enriches feature representations with high-order contextual associations. To further enhance efficiency when scaling up the number of soft hyperedges, we incorporate a sparse hyperedge selection mechanism that activates only the top-k important hyperedges, along with a load-balancing regularizer to ensure adequate and balanced hyperedge utilization. Experimental results across three tasks on five datasets demonstrate that SoftHGNN efficiently captures high-order associations in visual scenes, achieving significant performance improvements. SPICE: Submodular Penalized Information-Conflict Selection for Efficient Large Language Model Training

Information-based data selection for instruction tuning is compelling: maximizing the log-determinant of the Fisher information yields a monotone submodular objective, enabling greedy algorithms to achieve a $(1-1/e)$ approximation under a cardinality budget. In practice, however, we identify alleviating gradient conflicts, misalignment between per-sample gradients, is a key factor that slows down the decay of marginal log-determinant information gains, thereby preventing significant loss of information. We formalize this via an $\varepsilon$-decomposition that quantifies the deviation from ideal submodularity as a function of conflict statistics, yielding data-dependent approximation factors that tighten as conflicts diminish. Guided by this analysis, we propose SPICE, a conflict-aware selector that maximizes information while penalizing misalignment, and that supports early stopping and proxy models for efficiency. Empirically, SPICE selects subsets with higher log-determinant information than original criteria, and these informational gains translate into performance improvements: across 8 benchmarks with LLaMA2-7B and Qwen2-7B, SPICE uses only 10% of the data, yet matches or exceeds 6 methods including full-data tuning. This achieves performance improvements with substantially lower training cost.

Energy-Efficient Online Scheduling for Wireless Powered Mobile Edge Computing Networks

Wireless Powered Mobile Edge Computing (WP-MEC) integrates mobile edge computing (MEC) with wireless power transfer (WPT) to simultaneously extend the operational lifetime and enhance the computational capability of wireless devices (WDs). In WPMEC systems, WPT and computation offloading compete for limited wireless resources, which makes their joint scheduling particularly challenging. In this paper, we investigate the energy-efficient online scheduling problem for WPMEC networks with multiple WDs and multiple access points (APs). Based on Lyapunov optimization, we develop an online optimization framework that transforms the original stochastic problem into deterministic per-slot optimization problems. To reduce computational complexity, we introduce the concept of marginal energy efficiency and derive an associated optimality condition, based on which a relax-then-adjust approach is proposed to efficiently obtain feasible solutions. For the resulting non-convex computation offloading subproblem, we analyze the structural properties of its optimal solution and transform it into an assignment problem that can be solved efficiently. We further provide theoretical performance guarantees for both the per-slot and long-term solution, establishing a fundamental trade-off between latency and energy consumption. To improve practical performance, additional mechanisms are introduced to balance the magnitudes of different queues and reduce latency without increasing energy consumption. Extensive simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm under various system settings.

PreHO: Predictive Handover for LEO Satellite Networks

Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellite Networks (LSNs) offer a promising solution for extending connectivity to areas not covered by Terrestrial Networks (TNs). However, the rapid movement, broad coverage, and high communication latency of LEO satellites pose significant challenges to conventional handover mechanisms, resulting in unacceptable signaling overhead and handover latency. To address these issues, this paper identifies a fundamental difference between the mobility patterns in LSNs and TNs: users are typically stationary relative to the fast- moving satellites, and channel states in LSNs are often stable and predictable. This observation enables handovers to be planned in advance rather than triggered reactively. Motivated by this insight, we propose PreHO, a predictive handover mechanism tailored for LSNs that proactively determines optimal handover strategies, thereby simplifying the handover process and enhancing overall efficiency. To optimize the pre-planned handover decisions, we further formulate the handover planning problem and develop an efficient iterative algorithm based on alternating optimization and dynamic programming. Extensive evaluations driven by real-world data demonstrate that PreHO significantly outperforms traditional handover schemes in terms of signaling overhead, handover latency, and user experience.

HierKick: Hierarchical Reinforcement Learning for Vision-Guided Soccer Robot Control

Controlling soccer robots involves multi-time-scale decision-making, which requires balancing long-term tactical planning and short-term motion execution. Traditional end-to-end reinforcement learning (RL) methods face challenges in complex dynamic environments. This paper proposes HierKick, a vision-guided soccer robot control framework based on dual-frequency hierarchical RL. The framework adopts a hierarchical control architecture featuring a 5 Hz high-level policy that integrates YOLOv8 for real-time detection and selects tasks via a coach model, and a pre-trained 50 Hz low-level controller for precise joint control. Through this architecture, the framework achieves the four steps of approaching, aligning, dribbling, and kicking. Experimental results show that the success rates of this framework are 95.2\% in IsaacGym, 89.8\% in Mujoco, and 80\% in the real world. HierKick provides an effective hierarchical paradigm for robot control in complex environments, extendable to multi-time-scale tasks, with its modular design and skill reuse offering a new path for intelligent robot control.

AgentLTV: An Agent-Based Unified Search-and-Evolution Framework for Automated Lifetime Value Prediction

Lifetime Value (LTV) prediction is critical in advertising, recommender systems, and e-commerce. In practice, LTV data patterns vary across decision scenarios. As a result, practitioners often build complex, scenario-specific pipelines and iterate over feature processing, objective design, and tuning. This process is expensive and hard to transfer. We propose AgentLTV, an agent-based unified search-and-evolution framework for automated LTV modeling. AgentLTV treats each candidate solution as an {executable pipeline program}. LLM-driven agents generate code, run and repair pipelines, and analyze execution feedback. Two decision agents coordinate a two-stage search. The Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) stage explores a broad space of modeling choices under a fixed budget, guided by the Polynomial Upper Confidence bounds for Trees criterion and a Pareto-aware multi-metric value function. The Evolutionary Algorithm (EA) stage refines the best MCTS program via island-based evolution with crossover, mutation, and migration. Experiments on a large-scale proprietary dataset and a public benchmark show that AgentLTV consistently discovers strong models across ranking and error metrics. Online bucket-level analysis further indicates improved ranking consistency and value calibration, especially for high-value and negative-LTV segments. We summarize practitioner-oriented takeaways: use MCTS for rapid adaptation to new data patterns, use EA for stable refinement, and validate deployment readiness with bucket-level ranking and calibration diagnostics. The proposed AgentLTV has been successfully deployed online.

SurfPhase: 3D Interfacial Dynamics in Two-Phase Flows from Sparse Videos

Interfacial dynamics in two-phase flows govern momentum, heat, and mass transfer, yet remain difficult to measure experimentally. Classical techniques face intrinsic limitations near moving interfaces, while existing neural rendering methods target single-phase flows with diffuse boundaries and cannot handle sharp, deformable liquid-vapor interfaces. We propose SurfPhase, a novel model for reconstructing 3D interfacial dynamics from sparse camera views. Our approach integrates dynamic Gaussian surfels with a signed distance function formulation for geometric consistency, and leverages a video diffusion model to synthesize novel-view videos to refine reconstruction from sparse observations. We evaluate on a new dataset of high-speed pool boiling videos, demonstrating high-quality view synthesis and velocity estimation from only two camera views. Metronome: Efficient Scheduling for Periodic Traffic Jobs with Network and Priority Awareness

With the rapid growth in computing power demand, cloud native networks have emerged as a promising solution to address the challenges of efficient resource coordination, particularly in coping with the dynamic fluctuations of network bandwidth in clusters. We propose Metronome, a network-aware and priority-aware scheduling mechanism for cloud native networks. This mechanism is designed to support jobs that exhibit periodic traffic patterns and dynamic bandwidth demands, particularly in the context of distributed training. Specifically, Metronome employs a time-division multiplexing approach that leverages job traffic characteristics to construct an elastic network resource allocation model, enabling efficient bandwidth sharing across multiple jobs. In addition, it incorporates a multi-objective optimization strategy, jointly considering latency and job priorities to achieve globally optimal as well as dynamic resource allocation. Finally, Metronome adapts to the dynamic environment by monitoring the cluster and performing reconfiguration operations. Extensive experiments with 13 common machine learning models demonstrate that Metronome can enhance cluster resource utilization while guaranteeing service performance. Compared with the existing Kubernetes scheduling mechanisms across multiple scenarios, Metronome reduces job completion time by up to 19.50% while improving average bandwidth utilization by up to 23.20%.

HiWET: Hierarchical World-Frame End-Effector Tracking for Long-Horizon Humanoid Loco-Manipulation

Humanoid loco-manipulation requires executing precise manipulation tasks while maintaining dynamic stability amid base motion and impacts. Existing approaches typically formulate commands in body-centric frames, fail to inherently correct cumulative world-frame drift induced by legged locomotion. We reformulate the problem as world-frame end-effector tracking and propose HiWET, a hierarchical reinforcement learning framework that decouples global reasoning from dynamic execution. The high-level policy generates subgoals that jointly optimize end-effector accuracy and base positioning in the world frame, while the low-level policy executes these commands under stability constraints. We introduce a Kinematic Manifold Prior (KMP) that embeds the manipulation manifold into the action space via residual learning, reducing exploration dimensionality and mitigating kinematically invalid behaviors. Extensive simulation and ablation studies demonstrate that HiWET achieves precise and stable end-effector tracking in long-horizon world-frame tasks. We validate zero-shot sim-to-real transfer of the low-level policy on a physical humanoid, demonstrating stable locomotion under diverse manipulation commands. These results indicate that explicit world-frame reasoning combined with hierarchical control provides an effective and scalable solution for long-horizon humanoid loco-manipulation.

KubeSpace: A Low-Latency and Stable Control Plane for LEO Satellite Container Orchestration

Low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites play a pivotal role in global connectivity-delivering high-speed Internet, cellular coverage, and massive IoT support. With ever-growing onboard computing and storage resources, LEO satellites herald a new cloud paradigm: space cloud computing. While container or chestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) excel in terrestrial data centers, they are ill-suited to LEO satellite networks, featuring geographic dispersion and frequent handovers. Those features bring high latency and intermittent management, leading to control plane failure in container orchestration. To address this, we propose KubeSpace, a low-latency and stable control plane specifically designed for container orchestration on LEO satellites. KubeSpace combines two key innovations: a distributed ground-control-node architecture that binds each satellite to its nearest controller for uninterrupted management, and an orbit-aware placement with dynamic assignment strategy that further minimizes communication latency and handover frequency. Extensive experiments based on real satellite traces demonstrate that compared to existing solutions, KubeSpace reduces the average management latency of satellite nodes by 59% without any management interruption time.

Adams Bashforth Moulton Solver for Inversion and Editing in Rectified Flow

Rectified flow models have achieved remarkable performance in image and video generation tasks. However, existing numerical solvers face a trade-off between fast sampling and high accuracy solutions, limiting their effectiveness in downstream applications such as reconstruction and editing. To address this challenge, we propose leveraging the Adams Bashforth Moulton (ABM) predictor corrector method to enhance the accuracy of ODE solving in rectified flow models. Specifically, we introduce ABM Solver, which integrates a multi step predictor corrector approach to reduce local truncation errors and employs Adaptive Step Size Adjustment to improve sampling speed. Furthermore, to effectively preserve non edited regions while facilitating semantic modifications, we introduce a Mask Guided Feature Injection module. We estimate self-similarity to generate a spatial mask that differentiates preserved regions from those available for editing. Extensive experiments on multiple high resolution image datasets validate that ABM Solver significantly improves inversion precision and editing quality, outperforming existing solvers without requiring additional training or optimization.

Asymptotics of shortest filling closed multi-geodesics

In this paper, we investigate the asymptotics of shortest filling closed multi-geodesics of closed hyperbolic surfaces as systole $\to 0$ or as genus $\to \infty$. We first show that for a closed hyperbolic surface $X_g$ of genus $g$, the length of a shortest filling closed multi-geodesic of $X_g$ is uniformly comparable to $$\left(g+\sum\limits_{\textit{closed geodesic }γ\subset X_g, \ \ell(γ)<1}\log \left(\frac{1}{\ell(γ)}\right)\right).$$ As an application, we show that as $g\to \infty$, a Weil-Petersson random hyperbolic surface has a shortest closed multi-geodesic of length uniformly comparable to $g$. We also show that this is true for a random hyperbolic surface in the Brooks-Makover model.

FocusNav: Spatial Selective Attention with Waypoint Guidance for Humanoid Local Navigation

Robust local navigation in unstructured and dynamic environments remains a significant challenge for humanoid robots, requiring a delicate balance between long-range navigation targets and immediate motion stability. In this paper, we propose FocusNav, a spatial selective attention framework that adaptively modulates the robot's perceptual field based on navigational intent and real-time stability. FocusNav features a Waypoint-Guided Spatial Cross-Attention (WGSCA) mechanism that anchors environmental feature aggregation to a sequence of predicted collision-free waypoints, ensuring task-relevant perception along the planned trajectory. To enhance robustness in complex terrains, the Stability-Aware Selective Gating (SASG) module autonomously truncates distal information when detecting instability, compelling the policy to prioritize immediate foothold safety. Extensive experiments on the Unitree G1 humanoid robot demonstrate that FocusNav significantly improves navigation success rates in challenging scenarios, outperforming baselines in both collision avoidance and motion stability, achieving robust navigation in dynamic and complex environments.

SynergyWarpNet: Attention-Guided Cooperative Warping for Neural Portrait Animation

Recent advances in neural portrait animation have demonstrated remarked potential for applications in virtual avatars, telepresence, and digital content creation. However, traditional explicit warping approaches often struggle with accurate motion transfer or recovering missing regions, while recent attention-based warping methods, though effective, frequently suffer from high complexity and weak geometric grounding. To address these issues, we propose SynergyWarpNet, an attention-guided cooperative warping framework designed for high-fidelity talking head synthesis. Given a source portrait, a driving image, and a set of reference images, our model progressively refines the animation in three stages. First, an explicit warping module performs coarse spatial alignment between the source and driving image using 3D dense optical flow. Next, a reference-augmented correction module leverages cross-attention across 3D keypoints and texture features from multiple reference images to semantically complete occluded or distorted regions. Finally, a confidence-guided fusion module integrates the warped outputs with spatially-adaptive fusing, using a learned confidence map to balance structural alignment and visual consistency. Comprehensive evaluations on benchmark datasets demonstrate state-of-the-art performance.

Cog-RAG: Cognitive-Inspired Dual-Hypergraph with Theme Alignment Retrieval-Augmented Generation

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) enhances the response quality and domain-specific performance of large language models (LLMs) by incorporating external knowledge to combat hallucinations. In recent research, graph structures have been integrated into RAG to enhance the capture of semantic relations between entities. However, it primarily focuses on low-order pairwise entity relations, limiting the high-order associations among multiple entities. Hypergraph-enhanced approaches address this limitation by modeling multi-entity interactions via hyperedges, but they are typically constrained to inter-chunk entity-level representations, overlooking the global thematic organization and alignment across chunks. Drawing inspiration from the top-down cognitive process of human reasoning, we propose a theme-aligned dual-hypergraph RAG framework (Cog-RAG) that uses a theme hypergraph to capture inter-chunk thematic structure and an entity hypergraph to model high-order semantic relations. Furthermore, we design a cognitive-inspired two-stage retrieval strategy that first activates query-relevant thematic content from the theme hypergraph, and then guides fine-grained recall and diffusion in the entity hypergraph, achieving semantic alignment and consistent generation from global themes to local details. Our extensive experiments demonstrate that Cog-RAG significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art baseline approaches.
