From Extrinsic to Intrinsic: Geodesic-Guided Representation Learning for 3D Geometric Data

Geometric analysis fundamentally distinguishes between \textit{extrinsic} and \textit{intrinsic} perspectives. The dominant paradigm in current 3D representation learning relies on either extrinsic spatial structures or high-level semantics, struggling to capture the essence of shape identity and underlying manifold topology. To bridge this gap, we introduce a novel 3D representation learning paradigm, namely \textbf{PRISM}, for \textbf{P}re-training, which learns isometric embeddings by \textbf{R}ecovering the \textbf{I}ntrinsic \textbf{S}urface geodesic \textbf{M}etric. PRISM incorporates a topology-enforcing objective that explicitly constrains the structure of latent space, alongside a specialized two-stage training recipe mitigating sample imbalance inherent in the distribution of geodesic distances. Experiments demonstrate that our approach shows satisfactory accuracy, robustness, and high efficiency in geodesic distance prediction and achieves superior performance across diverse downstream tasks, including shape recognition, surface parameterization, and non-rigid correspondence. The code will be publicly available at https://github.com/AidenZhao/PRISM.

Underwater360: Reconstructing Underwater Scenes from Panoramic Images with Omnidirectional Gaussian Splatting

Underwater scene reconstruction is essential for immersive exploration of aquatic environments, yet remains challenging due to complex participating-media effects such as absorption and scattering, as well as the limited field of view (FoV) of conventional cameras. Although combining panoramic imaging with 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) offers a promising direction for photorealistic underwater rendering, traditional 3DGS struggles with both spherical projection distortion and underwater medium degradation. In this paper, we propose \textbf{Underwater360}, a physics-informed omnidirectional 3DGS framework for underwater panoramic scene reconstruction. First, we introduce an Omnidirectional Gaussian Splatting module that performs ray casting directly in spherical camera space instead of relying on 2D projection approximations, thereby reducing geometric distortions under 360$^\circ$ FoV. Second, we design a physics-based appearance-medium modeling architecture with pose-conditioned appearance embeddings to explicitly decouple intrinsic scene radiance from depth-dependent backscatter and attenuation, enabling physically grounded scene appearance restoration. Finally, we establish a new panoramic underwater benchmark dataset containing both synthetic and real-world scenes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Underwater360 achieves superior performance in underwater novel view synthesis and scene appearance restoration, delivering improved rendering quality and cross-view consistency in complex underwater environments. The code and datasets are released at https://github.com/SwcK423/Underwater360

Metric--Phase Fields: Decoupling Distance and Sign for Thin-Structure Reconstruction from Unoriented Point Clouds

Neural Signed Distance Functions (SDFs) excel at reconstructing watertight manifolds but fail on thin structures and open boundaries due to strict inside--outside constraints. Conversely, Unsigned Distance Fields (UDFs) accommodate general geometries but suffer from gradient singularities at the zero-level set, hindering optimization and extraction. We introduce Metric--Phase Fields (MPFs), a decoupled implicit representation that separates metric proximity from topological phase. Given an unoriented point cloud, MPFs learn (i) an unsigned metric field $r$ and (ii) a smooth phase field $θ$, for which we derive a bounded phase indicator $P=\tanh(βθ)$ that provides soft inside--outside cues where they are meaningful. We couple the two fields via a gated-metric formulation with a residual phase injection to obtain a signed implicit function with stable near-surface gradients. The phase coefficient $β$ is learnable, allowing MPFs to adaptively control the sharpness of the phase transition and the degree of saturation of the soft sign indicator. Experiments on both synthetic and scanned thin-shell and thin-plate shapes demonstrate that MPFs preserve thin and layered structures more faithfully than recent SDF-based methods, while also enabling more robust training and more reliable surface extraction than UDF-based approaches. Denoising-GS: Gaussian Splatting with Spatial-aware Denoising

Recent advances in 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) have achieved remarkable success in high-fidelity Novel View Synthesis (NVS), yet the optimization process inevitably introduces noisy Gaussian primitives due to the sparse and incomplete initialization from Structure-from-Motion (SfM) point clouds. Most existing methods focus solely on adjusting the positions of primitives during optimization, while neglecting the underlying spatial structure. To this end, we introduce a new perspective by formulating the optimization of 3DGS as a primitive denoising process and propose Denoising-GS, a spatial-aware denoising framework for Gaussian primitives by taking both the positions and spatial structure into consideration. Specifically, we design an optimizer that preserves the spatial optimization flow of primitives, facilitating coherent and directed denoising rather than random perturbations. Building upon this, the Spatial Gradient-based Denoising strategy jointly considers the spatial supports of primitives to ensure gradient-consistent updates. Furthermore, the Uncertainty-based Denoising module estimates primitive-wise uncertainty to prune redundant or noisy primitives, while the Spatial Coherence Refinement strategy selectively splits primitives in sparse regions to maintain structural completeness. Experiments conducted on three benchmark datasets demonstrate that Denoising-GS consistently enhances NVS fidelity while maintaining representation compactness, achieving state-of-the-art performance across all benchmarks. Source code and models will be made publicly available.

Structural MAT: Clean and Scalable Medial Axis Simplification via Explicit Surface Correspondence

The Medial Axis Transform (MAT) is a complete shape descriptor capable of reconstructing the geometry of the original domain. A high-quality MAT should not only facilitate high-fidelity reconstruction but also capture structural features -- for instance, by aligning the MAT boundary with the locus of rolling ball centers within fillet regions. However, computing such an ideal MAT remains a significant challenge, particularly when the input is a discrete triangle mesh. In this paper, we follow the established technical pipeline of initializing the MAT via a 3D Voronoi diagram of surface samples and subsequently simplifying the Voronoi structure through a QEM-like scheme. Our key insight is to explicitly track the correspondence between MAT vertices and surface regions throughout the progressive simplification process, ensuring that the resulting MAT triangles accurately reflect the intrinsic symmetries between surface patches. We translate these geometric requirements into a suite of priority control strategies that govern the sequencing of edge collapses. Through extensive evaluation against state-of-the-art MAT algorithms, we validate the strong performance of our approach regarding runtime efficiency, structural alignment, boundary regularity, triangle quality, and robustness to noise. Our resulting MATs remain highly expressive for both articulated shapes and CAD models, even under extreme simplification -- effectively capturing the global structure of complex geometries with only a few hundred vertices.

OCP: Orthogonal Constrained Projection for Sparse Scaling in Industrial Commodity Recommendation

In industrial commodity recommendation systems, the representation quality of Item-Id vocabularies directly impacts the scalability and generalization ability of recommendation models. A key challenge is that traditional Item-Id vocabularies, when subjected to sparse scaling, suffer from low-frequency information interference, which restricts their expressive power for massive item sets and leads to representation collapse. To address this issue, we propose an Orthogonal Constrained Projection method to optimize embedding representation. By enforcing orthogonality, the projection constrains the backpropagation manifold, aligning the singular value spectrum of the learned embeddings with the orthogonal basis. This alignment ensures high singular entropy, thereby preserving isotropic generalized features while suppressing spurious correlations and overfitting to rare items. Empirical results demonstrate that OCP accelerates loss convergence and enhances the model's scalability; notably, it enables consistent performance gains when scaling up dense layers. Large-scale industrial deployment on JD.com further confirms its efficacy, yielding a 12.97% increase in UCXR and an 8.9% uplift in GMV, highlighting its robust utility for scaling up both sparse vocabularies and dense architectures.

Multilingual AI-Driven Password Strength Estimation with Similarity-Based Detection

Considering the rise of cyberattacks incidents worldwide, the need to ensure stronger passwords is necessary. Developing a password strength meter (PSM) can help users create stronger passwords when creating an account on an online platform. This research aimed to explore whether incorporating a non-English training dataset (specifically Indian) can improve the performance of a PSM. Findings show that PSMs can be improved by utilising learning of words from other languages. Another contribution of the research was to compare and provide an analysis of AI generated data (specifically by ChatGPT) and PassGAN (existing state-of-the-art model), proving that PassGAN-like tools may no longer be needed as the performance is higher using AI generated data. To further strengthen detection, a Jaro similarity-based matching mechanism was incorporated, enabling the classification of passwords that are highly similar to known weak passwords - this addresses limitations of direct matching techniques used in prior work. A final novel contribution is on developing a PSM tailored for Indian passwords, which has not been developed previously - this resulted in a near-perfect matching accuracy using a Jaro function value of 0.5. Although performance improvements were constrained by limited data and training, results suggest that using the ChatGPT dataset is a viable and effective strategy for developing secure, language-aware password strength meters.

OmniVideoBench: Towards Audio-Visual Understanding Evaluation for Omni MLLMs

Recent advances in multimodal large language models (MLLMs) have demonstrated substantial potential in video understanding. However, existing benchmarks fail to comprehensively evaluate synergistic reasoning capabilities across audio and visual modalities, often neglecting either one of the modalities or integrating them in a logically inconsistent manner. To bridge this gap, we introduce OmniVideoBench, a large-scale and rigorously designed benchmark dedicated to assessing synergistic audio-visual understanding, with a strong emphasis on modality complementarity and logical consistency. Specifically, OmniVideoBench comprises 1000 high-quality question-answer(QA) pairs, each annotated with step-by-step reasoning traces, derived from 628 diverse videos ranging from several seconds to 30 minutes, and manually verified to guarantee complete correctness and uniqueness. Moreover, OmniVideoBench encompasses 13 carefully designed question types, covering temporal reasoning, spatial localization, counting, causal inference, summarization, and beyond, thereby capturing the essential challenges of video understanding. Evaluation of multiple MLLMs on OmniVideoBench reveals a pronounced gap between model performance and human reasoning, with open-source models lagging significantly behind their closed-source counterparts, underscoring the inherent difficulty of genuine audio-visual reasoning. We will release OmniVideoBench to foster the development of MLLMs with stronger and more generalizable reasoning capabilities.

VAGNet: Grounding 3D Affordance from Human-Object Interactions in Videos

3D object affordance grounding aims to identify regions on 3D objects that support human-object interaction (HOI), a capability essential to embodied visual reasoning. However, most existing approaches rely on static visual or textual cues, neglecting that affordances are inherently defined by dynamic actions. As a result, they often struggle to localize the true contact regions involved in real interactions. We take a different perspective. Humans learn how to use objects by observing and imitating actions, not just by examining shapes. Motivated by this intuition, we introduce video-guided 3D affordance grounding, which leverages dynamic interaction sequences to provide functional supervision. To achieve this, we propose VAGNet, a framework that aligns video-derived interaction cues with 3D structure to resolve ambiguities that static cues cannot address. To support this new setting, we introduce PVAD, the first HOI video-3D pairing affordance dataset, providing functional supervision unavailable in prior works. Extensive experiments on PVAD show that VAGNet achieves state-of-the-art performance, significantly outperforming static-based baselines. The code and dataset will be open publicly.

Joint Orientation and Weight Optimization for Robust Watertight Surface Reconstruction via Dirichlet-Regularized Winding Fields

We propose Dirichlet Winding Reconstruction (DiWR), a robust method for reconstructing watertight surfaces from unoriented point clouds with non-uniform sampling, noise, and outliers. Our method uses the generalized winding number (GWN) field as the target implicit representation and jointly optimizes point orientations, per-point area weights, and confidence coefficients in a single pipeline. The optimization minimizes the Dirichlet energy of the induced winding field together with additional GWN-based constraints, allowing DiWR to compensate for non-uniform sampling, reduce the impact of noise, and downweight outliers during reconstruction, with no reliance on separate preprocessing. We evaluate DiWR on point clouds from 3D Gaussian Splatting, a computer-vision pipeline, and corrupted graphics benchmarks. Experiments show that DiWR produces plausible watertight surfaces on these challenging inputs and outperforms both traditional multi-stage pipelines and recent joint orientation-reconstruction methods.

Eccentricity Evolution of Warm Jupiters: The Role of Distant Perturbers and Nearby Companions

Warm Jupiters-giant exoplanets with orbital periods between 10 and 200 days-exhibit a broad range of eccentricities and are often accompanied by nearby low-mass planets. Understanding the origins of their orbital architectures requires examining both their migration histories and subsequent dynamical interactions. In this study, we perform extensive N-body simulations to explore how distant giant planet perturbers affect the eccentricity evolution of warm Jupiters and the role of nearby super-Earth companions in mediating these interactions. We find that while distant perturbers can induce large-amplitude eccentricity oscillations in warm Jupiters via the von Zeipel-Lidov-Kozai mechanism, the presence of nearby super-Earth companions often suppresses these variations via strong dynamical coupling. This mechanism naturally leads to a bimodal eccentricity distribution: warm Jupiters with nearby companions tend to maintain low eccentricities, whereas those without exhibit significantly broader eccentricity distributions. We show that reproducing the observed eccentricity distribution of warm Jupiters lacking nearby companions is most naturally explained if a substantial fraction of distant perturbers occupy dynamically extreme orbits, either with large mutual inclinations or high orbital eccentricities. These results support a scenario in which warm Jupiters experience substantial post-disk dynamical evolution, shaped jointly by distant perturbers and nearby companions.

Quasi-Medial Distance Field (Q-MDF): A Robust Method for Approximating and Discretizing Neural Medial Axes

The medial axis, a lower-dimensional descriptor that captures the extrinsic structure of a shape, plays an important role in digital geometry processing. Despite its importance, computing the medial axis transform robustly from diverse inputs, especially point clouds with defects, remains a challenging problem. In this paper, we propose a new implicit method that deviates from traditional explicit medial axis computation. Our key technical insight is that the difference between the signed distance field (SDF) and the medial field (MF) of a solid shape relates to the unsigned distance field (UDF) of the shape's medial axis. This observation allows us to formulate medial axis extraction as an implicit reconstruction problem. By employing a modified double covering strategy, we recover the medial axis as the zero level-set of the UDF. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves higher accuracy and robustness in learning compact medial axis transforms from challenging meshes and point clouds, outperforming existing approaches.

Skywork UniPic 2.0: Building Kontext Model with Online RL for Unified Multimodal Model

Recent advances in multimodal models have demonstrated impressive capabilities in unified image generation and editing. However, many prominent open-source models prioritize scaling model parameters over optimizing training strategies, limiting their efficiency and performance. In this work, we present UniPic2-SD3.5M-Kontext, a 2B-parameter DiT model based on SD3.5-Medium, which achieves state-of-the-art image generation and editing while extending seamlessly into a unified multimodal framework. Our approach begins with architectural modifications to SD3.5-Medium and large-scale pre-training on high-quality data, enabling joint text-to-image generation and editing capabilities. To enhance instruction following and editing consistency, we propose a novel Progressive Dual-Task Reinforcement strategy (PDTR), which effectively strengthens both tasks in a staged manner. We empirically validate that the reinforcement phases for different tasks are mutually beneficial and do not induce negative interference. After pre-training and reinforcement strategies, UniPic2-SD3.5M-Kontext demonstrates stronger image generation and editing capabilities than models with significantly larger generation parameters-including BAGEL (7B) and Flux-Kontext (12B). Furthermore, following the MetaQuery, we connect the UniPic2-SD3.5M-Kontext and Qwen2.5-VL-7B via a connector and perform joint training to launch a unified multimodal model UniPic2-Metaquery. UniPic2-Metaquery integrates understanding, generation, and editing, achieving top-tier performance across diverse tasks with a simple and scalable training paradigm. This consistently validates the effectiveness and generalizability of our proposed training paradigm, which we formalize as Skywork UniPic 2.0.

ForeDiffusion: Foresight-Conditioned Diffusion Policy via Future View Construction for Robot Manipulation

Diffusion strategies have advanced visual motor control by progressively denoising high-dimensional action sequences, providing a promising method for robot manipulation. However, as task complexity increases, the success rate of existing baseline models decreases considerably. Analysis indicates that current diffusion strategies are confronted with two limitations. First, these strategies only rely on short-term observations as conditions. Second, the training objective remains limited to a single denoising loss, which leads to error accumulation and causes grasping deviations. To address these limitations, this paper proposes Foresight-Conditioned Diffusion (ForeDiffusion), by injecting the predicted future view representation into the diffusion process. As a result, the policy is guided to be forward-looking, enabling it to correct trajectory deviations. Following this design, ForeDiffusion employs a dual loss mechanism, combining the traditional denoising loss and the consistency loss of future observations, to achieve the unified optimization. Extensive evaluation on the Adroit suite and the MetaWorld benchmark demonstrates that ForeDiffusion achieves an average success rate of 80% for the overall task, significantly outperforming the existing mainstream diffusion methods by 23% in complex tasks, while maintaining more stable performance across the entire tasks.

Seeking Human Security Consensus: A Unified Value Scale for Generative AI Value Safety

The rapid development of generative AI has brought value- and ethics-related risks to the forefront, making value safety a critical concern while a unified consensus remains lacking. In this work, we propose an internationally inclusive and resilient unified value framework, the GenAI Value Safety Scale (GVS-Scale): Grounded in a lifecycle-oriented perspective, we develop a taxonomy of GenAI value safety risks and construct the GenAI Value Safety Incident Repository (GVSIR), and further derive the GVS-Scale through grounded theory and operationalize it via the GenAI Value Safety Benchmark (GVS-Bench). Experiments on mainstream text generation models reveal substantial variation in value safety performance across models and value categories, indicating uneven and fragmented value alignment in current systems. Our findings highlight the importance of establishing shared safety foundations through dialogue and advancing technical safety mechanisms beyond reactive constraints toward more flexible approaches. LiteGE: Lightweight Geodesic Embedding for Efficient Geodesics Computation and Non-Isometric Shape Correspondence

Computing geodesic distances on 3D surfaces is fundamental to many tasks in 3D vision and geometry processing, with deep connections to tasks such as shape correspondence. Recent learning-based methods achieve strong performance but rely on large 3D backbones, leading to high memory usage and latency, which limit their use in interactive or resource-constrained settings. We introduce LiteGE, a lightweight approach that constructs compact, category-aware shape descriptors by applying Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to unsigned distance field (UDFs) samples at informative voxels. This descriptor is efficient to compute and removes the need for high-capacity networks. LiteGE remains robust on sparse point clouds, supporting inputs with as few as 300 points, where prior methods fail. Extensive experiments show that LiteGE reduces memory usage and inference time by up to 300$\times$ compared to existing neural approaches. In addition, by exploiting the intrinsic relationship between geodesic distance and shape correspondence, LiteGE enables fast and accurate shape matching. Our method achieves up to 1000$\times$ speedup over state-of-the-art mesh-based approaches while maintaining comparable accuracy on non-isometric shape pairs, including evaluations on point-cloud inputs.

SplatCo: Structure-View Collaborative Gaussian Splatting for Detail-Preserving Rendering of Large-Scale Unbounded Scenes

We present SplatCo, a structure-view collaborative Gaussian splatting framework for high-fidelity rendering of complex outdoor scenes. SplatCo builds upon three novel components: 1) a cross-structure collaboration module that combines global tri-plane representations, which capture coarse scene layouts, with local context grid features representing fine details. This fusion is achieved through a hierarchical compensation mechanism, ensuring both global spatial awareness and local detail preservation; 2) a cross-view pruning mechanism that removes overfitted or inaccurate Gaussians based on structural consistency, thereby improving storage efficiency and preventing rendering artifacts; 3) a structure view co-learning module that aggregates structural gradients with view gradients, thereby steering the optimization of Gaussian geometric and appearance attributes more robustly. By combining these key components, SplatCo effectively achieves high-fidelity rendering for large-scale scenes. Code and project page are available at https://splatco-tech.github.io.
