A-PAIR: A Benchmark and Identity-Consistent Grounding Framework for Air-Ground Cross-View Referring Person Detection

Air-ground cross-view referring person detection is a necessary component in the language-to-perception-to-control chain of collective embodied intelligence, grounding a language command into the same physical target before ground and aerial agents can coordinate downstream actions. Existing referring expression comprehension and open-vocabulary grounding methods do not jointly account for cross-view identity consistency, making them insufficient for Air-Ground Cross-View Referring Person Detection (AGCV-RPD), which involves similar pedestrian distractors, weak aerial appearance cues, and cross-view identity consistency. To study this problem, we introduce Air-Ground Paired Identity-Aware Referring (A-PAIR), the first comprehensive AGCV-RPD benchmark, containing 22,137 cross-view referring samples. To construct A-PAIR efficiently, we propose Factorized Annotation and Referential Alignment (FARA), a semi-automatic annotation framework that generates factorized referring descriptions and identity-consistency supervision at reduced cost. We propose Identity-Consistent Referring Grounding (ICRG), a framework that combines factorized referential grounding, candidate-completeness supervision, and cross-view consistency calibration for joint air-ground pair selection. ICRG improves ground, aerial, and pair-level detection over strong baselines, increasing pair F1 from 16.65% to 22.28%. These results show that AGCV-RPD requires paired detection and identity-consistent reasoning.

STAR : Sentence Translation Alignment Rate for Document-to-Document Machine Translation

Large Language Models (LLMs) have enabled a shift from sentence-level to document-to-document (Doc2Doc) machine translation, promising improved global coherence. However, document-to-document generation in a single pass frequently suffers from structural misalignment, manifesting as sentence omissions or hallucinations that violate the core requirement of source-target correspondence. To address this, we introduce Sentence Translation Alignment Rate (STAR), an auxiliary metric that explicitly quantifies sentence-level structural fidelity. Building on this, we propose STAR-masked Preference Optimization (StarPO), a framework that ranks document-level hypotheses by structural quality and utilizes a dynamic alignment mask to focus optimization on misaligned segments. Experimental results across news and literary domains demonstrate that StarPO significantly enhances translation quality and structural integrity. Notably, StarPO allows compact models to surpass the performance of massive proprietary systems like GPT-4o while maintaining superior token efficiency.

Towards a new paradigm of scientific discovery with socialized artificial intelligence

Scientific discovery has advanced through successive transformations in the organization of knowledge. Observation and experimentation established the empirical foundations of science. Theory made it possible to derive general principles from particular phenomena. Computation extended inquiry into systems beyond direct observation, while data-intensive methods opened new spaces of pattern and prediction. Science now confronts a different frontier. The central challenge is no longer simply to produce more information, but to organize expanding knowledge, reasoning, and evidence into a coherent process of discovery. Here, we introduce Bridging Literature, Agents, and Zero-gap Experimentation (BLAZE), a paradigm of socialized scientific intelligence. BLAZE conceives AI not as an assistant for isolated research tasks, but as an organizational infrastructure for scientific discovery. It connects persistent knowledge, collective reasoning, empirical validation, and human judgment within a continuous research lifecycle, transforming fragmented activities into a cumulative process of inquiry, criticism, and revision. The central premise of BLAZE is that scientific intelligence does not arise from computation alone. It emerges from the sustained interaction among knowledge, hypotheses, experiments, and collective verification. By organizing humans and machines within a shared scientific process, BLAZE makes discovery more traceable, reproducible, and cumulative while preserving human creativity, judgment, and responsibility. Socialized scientific intelligence may provide a foundation for the next era of science. Its purpose is not to replace human discovery, but to extend the scale, depth, and continuity of collective scientific inquiry.

Optical Detection and Manipulation of Pseudospin Orders in Wigner Crystals

In Wigner-crystal states of two-dimensional electrons, the spin ordering remains poorly understood. The small energy differences between candidate spin orders make theoretical studies less reliable, and probing magnetic order at a nonzero wave vector is experimentally challenging. In modern realizations of Wigner crystals, the electronic spin degree of freedom is often replaced by a valley pseudospin associated with nonzero Berry curvature. The resulting anomalous velocity couples the electrons' pseudospin texture to their orbital vibration. We show that this mechanism enables optical detection of pseudospin orders in Wigner crystals by producing sharp signatures in the terahertz optical conductivity. For example, antiferromagnetic pseudospin order enables light to excite collective electronic vibrations at the ordering wave vector, generating a characteristic absorption peak. Based on the same principle, we further show that a strong optical drive generates an effective potential that reshapes the pseudospin energy landscape, inducing phase transitions to stripe antiferromagnetic states. These results point to a route for optical detection and control of spin order via its coupling to orbital motion.

$M^2PO$: Multi-Perspective Multi-Pair Preference Optimization for Machine Translation

Aligning Large Language Models (LLMs) with human preferences is pivotal for Machine Translation (MT), yet current approaches are often hindered by misleading reward signals. Our analysis reveals that prevailing Quality Estimation (QE) models exhibit a systematic blind spot toward partial errors, specifically partial hallucinations and omissions, often favoring superficially fluent but unfaithful translations. To address this issue, we propose $M^2PO$ (Multi-Perspective Multi-Pair Preference Optimization), a data-centric framework for preference optimization in machine translation. First, to correct the bias toward fluency, $M^2PO$ uses a dual-perspective mechanism that decouples semantic fidelity from fluency and prioritizes faithfulness through a curriculum strategy. Second, after correcting this bias, partial errors fall between perfect and severely incorrect translations, making them difficult to learn through standard best-versus-worst comparisons. We therefore introduce a multi-pair objective that leverages the full candidate list to capture these fine-grained error signals. Experiments on WMT23, WMT24, and FLORES-200 show that $M^2PO$ enables a 9B model to outperform leading open-source baselines and achieve parity with proprietary models such as GPT-4o and Gemini-2.0-Flash, demonstrating strong potential for efficient and high-fidelity LLM-based translation. Our code and dataset will be released.

Planning Persuasive Trajectories Based on a Leader-Follower Game Model

We propose a framework that enables autonomous vehicles (AVs) to proactively shape the intentions and behaviors of interacting human drivers. The framework employs a leader-follower game model with an adaptive role mechanism to predict human interaction intentions and behaviors. It then utilizes a branch model predictive control (MPC) algorithm to plan the AV trajectory, persuading the human to adopt the desired intention. The proposed framework is demonstrated in an intersection scenario. Simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the framework for generating persuasive AV trajectories despite uncertainties.

Two Intermediate Translations Are Better Than One: Fine-tuning LLMs for Document-level Translation Refinement

Recent research has shown that large language models (LLMs) can enhance translation quality through self-refinement. In this paper, we build on this idea by extending the refinement from sentence-level to document-level translation, specifically focusing on document-to-document (Doc2Doc) translation refinement. Since sentence-to-sentence (Sent2Sent) and Doc2Doc translation address different aspects of the translation process, we propose fine-tuning LLMs for translation refinement using two intermediate translations, combining the strengths of both Sent2Sent and Doc2Doc. Additionally, recognizing that the quality of intermediate translations varies, we introduce an enhanced fine-tuning method with quality awareness that assigns lower weights to easier translations and higher weights to more difficult ones, enabling the model to focus on challenging translation cases. Experimental results across ten translation tasks with LLaMA-3-8B-Instruct and Mistral-Nemo-Instruct demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.

Au12@Au30: Core-Shell Molecule Constituted of an Icosahedron and an Icosidodecahedron

A stable core-shell structure with Ih symmetry, Au12@Au30, has been investigated by first-principles calculations. It is composed of an icosahedron core and an icosidodecahedron shell. The stability of the core-shell Au42 structure is verified by vibrational frequency analysis and molecular dynamics NVT simulations. Both the frontier molecular orbitals and the spin density of states show obvious s-d hybridization characteristics. The adaptive natural density partitioning analysis demonstrate multi-center bonds, twenty 6-center {\sigma} bonds ,and one 12-center {\sigma} bond, which are of great importance for the core-shell structural stability. In this core-shell nanostructure, there are also a large number of one-center valence lone electron pairs with the characteristics of d-like orbitals, so that the proposed Au12@Au30 could be used in medicine and catalysis fields.
