Co-periods and central symmetric cube L-values

In this article, we study the co-period integral attached to an automorphic form on $\GL(2)$ and two exceptional theta series on the cubic Kazhdan-Patterson cover of $\GL(2)$. In the local aspect, we show the $\Hom$-space is always of one dimension and conduct the unramified calculations. In the global aspect, we give the Euler decomposition for the co-period integrals of Eisenstein series and propose an Ichino-Ikeda type conjecture relating the co-period integrals of cuspidal forms to the central critical value of symmetric cube $L$-functions. We also deduce from the local multiplicity one result that there exist cuspidal automorphic forms with prescribed local components and non-vanishing central symmetric cube $L$-values.

Euler systems and relative Satake isomorphism

We explain how the unramified Plancherel formula in the relative Langlands program gives a natural way of constructing test vectors which satisfy the tame norm relations of an Euler system. This uniformly recovers many of the known Euler systems, and in the twisted Friedberg--Jacquet setting, we produce a new split anticyclotomic Euler system.

Arakelov geometry on flag varieties over function fields and related topics

Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. Let $G$ be a connected reductive group over $k$, $P \subseteq G$ be a parabolic subgroup and $\lambda: P \longrightarrow G$ be a strictly anti-dominant character. Let $C$ be a projective smooth curve over $k$ with function field $K=k(C)$ and $F$ be a principal $G$-bundle on $C$. Then $F/P \longrightarrow C$ is a flag bundle and $\mathcal{L}_\lambda=F \times_P k_\lambda$ on $F/P$ is a relatively ample line bundle. We compute the height filtration, successive minima, and the Boucksom-Chen concave transform of the height function $h_{\mathcal{L}_\lambda}: X(\overline{K}) \longrightarrow \mathbb{R}$ over the flag variety $X=(F/P)_K$. An interesting application is that the height of $X$ equals to a weighted average of successive minima, and one may view this as a refinement of Zhang's inequality of successive minima. Let $f \in N^1(F/P)$ be the numerical class of a vertical fiber. We compute the augmented base loci $\mathrm{B}_+(\mathcal{L}_\lambda-tf)$ for any $t \in \mathbb{R}$, and it turns out that they are almost the same as the height filtration. As a corollary, we compute the $k$-th movable cones of flag bundles over curves for all $k$.

Ichino period for CM forms

In both local and global settings, we establish explicit relations between Ichino triple product period and Waldspurger toric periods for CM forms via the theta lifting and the see-saw principle.

Multiplicities of Representations in Algebraic Families

In this short notes, we consider multiplicities of representations in general algebraic families, especially the upper semi-continuity of homological multiplicities and the locally constancy of Euler-Poincare numbers. This generalizes the main result of Aizenbud-Sayag for unramified twisting families.

$p$-adic Waldspurger Formula for Non-split Primes and Converse of Gross--Zagier and Kolyvagin Theorem

Let $p$ be a prime and $\mathcal{K}$ be an imaginary quadratic field. In this paper we generalize a recent construction of a new type of $p$-adic $L$-function and $p$-adic Waldspurger formula by Andreatta-Iovita for $p$ non-split in $\mathcal{K}$, as long as the $\mathrm{GL}_2$ automorphic representation is principal series at $p$. Then we develop a new kind of anticyclotomic local $\pm$-Iwasawa theory at $p$ for self-dual Hecke characters over imaginary quadratic fields (including elliptic curves $E/\mathbb{Q}$ with complex multiplication) which is valid for all ramification types of $p$ (split, inert and ramified, and allowing $p=2$). As the main consequence, we prove the converse of the Gross--Zagier--Kolyvagin theorem for self-dual CM characters: if the Selmer rank of $\psi$ is 1, then the analytic rank of $L(\psi,s)$ at $s=1$ is also 1. As corollaries, we prove Sylvester's conjecture (1879) on sums of two rational cubes, and Goldfeld's conjecture for CM elliptic curves over $\mathbb{Q}$ (conditional on work of A. Smith).

Higher Ext-groups in the triple product case

Pixel2ISDF: Implicit Signed Distance Fields based Human Body Model from Multi-view and Multi-pose Images

In this report, we focus on reconstructing clothed humans in the canonical space given multiple views and poses of a human as the input. To achieve this, we utilize the geometric prior of the SMPLX model in the canonical space to learn the implicit representation for geometry reconstruction. Based on the observation that the topology between the posed mesh and the mesh in the canonical space are consistent, we propose to learn latent codes on the posed mesh by leveraging multiple input images and then assign the latent codes to the mesh in the canonical space. Specifically, we first leverage normal and geometry networks to extract the feature vector for each vertex on the SMPLX mesh. Normal maps are adopted for better generalization to unseen images compared to 2D images. Then, features for each vertex on the posed mesh from multiple images are integrated by MLPs. The integrated features acting as the latent code are anchored to the SMPLX mesh in the canonical space. Finally, latent code for each 3D point is extracted and utilized to calculate the SDF. Our work for reconstructing the human shape on canonical pose achieves 3rd performance on WCPA MVP-Human Body Challenge.

Higher Ext-groups and Relatively Supercuspidal Spectra

Relatively supercuspidal representations are analogue of supercuspidal representations in the relative Langlands program. This work studies relatively supercuspidal representations using top degree Ext-groups via the Schneider-Stuhler duality. As examples, the relatively supercuspidal spectra for the Galois case and the triple product case are determined.

Families of Canonical Local Periods on Spherical Varieties

We consider the variation of canonical local periods on spherical varieties proposed by Sakellaridis-Venkatesh in families. We formulate conjectures for the rationality and meromorphic property of canonical local periods and establish these conjectures for strongly tempered spherical G-varieties without type N-roots when G is split.

Label distribution based facial attractiveness computation by deep residual learning

Two challenges lie in the facial attractiveness computation research: the lack of true attractiveness labels (scores), and the lack of an accurate face representation. In order to address the first challenge, this paper recasts facial attractiveness computation as a label distribution learning (LDL) problem rather than a traditional single-label supervised learning task. In this way, the negative influence of the label incomplete problem can be reduced. Inspired by the recent promising work in face recognition using deep neural networks to learn effective features, the second challenge is expected to be solved from a deep learning point of view. A very deep residual network is utilized to enable automatic learning of hierarchical aesthetics representation. Integrating these two ideas, an end-to-end deep learning framework is established. Our approach achieves the best results on a standard benchmark SCUT-FBP dataset compared with other state-of-the-art work.
