DPIAgent: Divide, Protocol, Isolate for Agentic Reproduction Test Generation

Reproduction test generation, producing a failing-then-passing test that captures a reported bug, is a critical step in automated software engineering. Existing agentic methods treat this as a monolithic loop, despite the task inherently comprising two subtasks of distinct nature: diagnosing the root cause and writing a fail-to-pass test. Without explicit separation, the agent faces a compound objective with underspecified intermediate goals, leading to goal drift. We propose DPIAgent, a structured agentic framework built on three principles, Divide, Protocol, Isolate (DPI), that mitigates compound-objective ambiguity and goal drift: it Divides the task into single-objective phases of defect exploration and test generation; enforces a handoff Protocol that records the diagnosis and test plan, preventing context loss; and Isolates each phase's action space by tailoring the toolset to its task, preventing irrelevant tools from misleading execution. On SWT-Bench Verified, DPIAgent outperforms seven baselines across three backbone LLMs. With DPI alone it reaches 81.76% success rate on GPT-5, the highest reported among open-source methods, gaining up to 11.88 points over the strongest baseline on GPT-5-Mini; adding test selection further raises it to 86.17%. Our analysis shows that architectural structure and backbone capability are complementary axes rather than substitutes, demonstrating DPI's generalizability across model classes.

ANFI: Rethinking Neighbor Feature Interaction in Person Re-ID

In person re-identification, neighbor-based methods have achieved significant success by interacting with neighbor samples to obtain more robust representations. However, existing methods rely only on affinity relations, causing their success to depend heavily on the reliability of selected neighbors. We find that affinity-only interaction often fails in challenging scenarios due to the inevitable presence of noisy neighbors. To enable effective interactions under noisy neighborhoods, we revisit neighbor-based methods under distinct reliability conditions and propose a novel Adaptive Neighbor Feature Interaction (ANFI) method. The core idea of ANFI is to account for negative effects from noisy neighbors, allowing samples to remain distinguishable from false positive neighbors. Unlike existing methods, ANFI models not only affinity relations but also discrepancy relations, and employs sample-wise adaptive weighting for these two types of relations. Given that capturing negative effects from noisy neighbors differs significantly from traditional relation learning, we derive discrepancy relations from a new neighborhood similarity, which provides more information than pairwise similarity. In addition, we propose Noisy Relation Supervision (NRS) to train ANFI, gradually injecting robustness to noisy relations into the model. Extensive experiments conducted under standard, cross-modal, and cross-domain settings, including comparisons with neighbor-based methods and re-ranking methods, demonstrate the superiority of our method across various neighbor distributions.

Mage-VL: An Efficient Codec-Native Streaming Multimodal Foundation Model

Standard vision-language models (VLMs) suffer from Moravec's paradox: they excel at complex offline visual reasoning but struggle with simple streaming perception tasks and process them inefficiently. We present Mage-VL, an efficient codec-native streaming foundation model for real-time multimodal understanding and interaction. At its core, our custom tokenizer, Mage-ViT, replaces uniform frame sampling by selectively encoding dynamic, entropy-rich regions using motion vectors and residual energy across sparse anchor (I) and predicted (P) frames. Operating at a 16 x 16 patch level, this reduces visual token consumption by over 75% while preserving spatiotemporal context. Trained from scratch on approximately 560M unlabeled images and 100M unlabeled video frames, Mage-ViT matches or outperforms flagship encoders trained on billions of image-text pairs. We establish AI4AI data pipelines encompassing prompt-code joint optimization for multimodal captioning and AI-driven performance diagnosis to guide training recipes. Furthermore, through a bio-inspired dual-system architecture - a lightweight System 1 event gate and a causal System 2 decoder - Mage-VL enables proactive streaming perception. Extensive evaluations show that Mage-VL-4B matches Qwen3-VL-4B on static tasks while achieving strong gains in video understanding and 2D/3D spatial reasoning, with up to a 3.5x wall-clock inference speedup, and comprehensively surpasses the 15B Phi-4-reasoning-vision baseline. Beyond model artifacts, we deliver seven key empirical findings covering pre-training data efficiency, variable-resolution scaling, codec system acceleration, VideoQA SFT redundancy, motion-spatial synergy, AI4AI data pipelines, and Zero-Vision SFT for multimodal RL.

Generative Video Compression with Adaptive Score Distillation

Diffusion models provide strong generative capabilities for video compression at ultra-low bitrates. Existing diffusion-based video codecs adapt base models originally developed for text-conditioned generation, whereas diffusion models designed and trained specifically for compression remain unexplored. To fill this gap, we introduce our Generative Video Codec (GenVC), built on a video diffusion model trained from scratch for compression. To our knowledge, this is the first compression-oriented video diffusion model. We realize this model directly in pixel space with a global-to-local hierarchy that recovers fine spatio-temporal details, enabling high-quality generative reconstruction from compressed representations. To accelerate inference, we distill the multi-step model into one step using distribution matching distillation (DMD). Applying DMD directly, however, drives the student toward motion-stalled reconstructions. We trace this to a teacher-side guidance failure: once student-induced perturbations leave the frozen teacher's training region, its guidance can become misleading, causing DMD updates to reinforce rather than correct the student drift. To break the resulting feedback loop, we propose Adaptive Score Distillation, which gates DMD updates according to their alignment with the ground-truth direction, enabling high-quality reconstruction with coherent motion. Experimental results show that GenVC achieves state-of-the-art perceptual quality at ultra-low bitrates, with average bitrate savings of 62.5% at matched LPIPS and 71.3% at matched FID over GLVC. Unlike prior codecs that inherit billion-scale pretrained backbones, our diffusion model has only 478.0M parameters and decodes 1080p video in a single step at 15.1 fps on an A100 GPU.

Coordinated Networking for On-Device Agent-Augmented Real-Time Communication

AI agents are enabling a new paradigm of agent-augmented real-time communication (RTC), where humans focus on high-level collaboration, while agents autonomously retrieve, analyze, and generate information in real time to support their interactions. These apps enable new experiences across various domains: for example, when corporate employees co-author a legal document, their agents can discuss and draft on their behalf, sparing them the burden of manually reviewing each other's work. As existing cloud-based agents suffer from privacy risks and unscalable server costs, on-device agent-augmented RTC offers a promising alternative. However, this on-device paradigm introduces a new networking challenge: contention between concurrent traffic flows generated by humans (for live video streaming) and agents (for sending context files for analysis). We design HFS, a framework to ensure both high live video quality and low agent response latency in agent-augmented RTC apps. We achieve the goal through an app-guided multi-flow transport approach, where a unified app-layer orchestrator jointly controls the sending rates of live video and agent context flows based on their heterogeneous app requirements. Our prototype built atop WebRTC and llama.cpp demonstrates that HAFS outperforms baselines, achieving 1.5x higher video quality while reducing agent response time by 31%.

Mage-Flow: An Efficient Native-Resolution Foundation Model for Image Generation and Editing

Large-scale visual generators are increasingly capable but costly to train, fine-tune, and deploy. We introduce Mage-Flow, a compact 4B-scale generative stack for efficient text-to-image generation and instruction-based image editing. The stack is built from two co-designed components: Mage-VAE, a lightweight high-fidelity latent tokenizer, and a Native-Resolution Multimodal Diffusion Transformer trained with rectified flow matching. Mage-VAE uses one-step diffusion-style encoding and decoding with anchor-latent regularization, preserving the reconstruction quality of strong public VAEs while reducing tokenization cost by more than an order of magnitude. Together with native-resolution packing and stack-level CUDA kernel fusion, the stack supports flexible-resolution training and improves end-to-end training throughput by about $2.5\times$. Built on this foundation, we develop a complete model family with Base, RL-aligned, and Turbo variants for both generation and editing. Diffusion-NFT improves prompt following, text rendering, aesthetic quality, and editing fidelity, while few-step distillation with adversarial perceptual guidance produces 4-step Turbo models for low-latency inference. Despite its compact scale, Mage-Flow and Mage-Flow-Edit achieves competitive performance across standard generation and editing benchmarks. More importantly, the Turbo variants make high-resolution generation and editing practical for interactive use: at $1024^2$ resolution on a single NVIDIA A100 GPU, Mage-Flow-Turbo generates an image in 0.59s, and Mage-Flow-Edit-Turbo edits an image in 1.02s, while maintaining a small memory footprint. These results show that careful tokenizer--backbone--system co-design can deliver strong high-resolution generation and editing within an efficient 4B model family.

SciForma: Structure-Faithful Generation of Scientific Diagrams

Structural fidelity is essential to scientific methodology diagrams. To communicate research logic, these diagrams must faithfully render components, directional relations, and textual annotations. Since a single error, such as a reversed arrow or an unreadable equation, can invalidate the entire figure, structural fidelity is inherently conjunctive: correctness on one axis cannot compensate for failure on another. Current open-source models fail to satisfy this criterion. Supervised fine-tuning (SFT) learns plausible layouts but cannot reliably ensure structural correctness, while scalar reward-based post-training obscures which structural dimension has failed. To address this, we introduce SciForma, a framework for the structure faithful generation of scientific methodology diagrams. Specifically, SciForma decomposes diagram quality into three structural axes: Component, Arrow, and Text, guided by a structural inventory. Built on this foundation, we curate SciFormaData-700K for structured training and SciFormaBench-2K for logic-verified evaluation. To close the gap left by SFT, we develop Multi-Dimensional Conjunctive Preference Optimization (M-DPO), which enforces simultaneous correctness across all axes and adaptively routes gradients to the most deficient dimension in post-training. The same structural inventory also enables iterative editing at inference time to correct residual errors. This combination allows SciForma-9B to exceed all open-source baselines and GPT-Image-1.5 on both SciFormaBench-2K and AIBench, bringing open scientific diagram generation close to proprietary-level structural fidelity. Our code and data will be available at: https://github.com/microsoft/SciForma.

Six-sigma Quality Management of Additive Manufacturing

In this paper, we propose to design, develop, and implement the new DMAIC methodology for Six-Sigma quality management of AM. First, we define the specific quality challenges arising from AM layer-wise fabrication and mass customization (even one-of-a-kind production). Second, we present a review of AM metrology and sensing techniques, from materials through design, process, environment, to post-build inspection. Third, we contextualize a framework for realizing the full potential of data from AM systems, and emphasize the need for analytical methods and tools. We propose and delineate the utility of new data-driven analytical methods, including deep learning, machine learning, and network science, to characterize and model the interrelationships between engineering design, machine setting, process variability and final build quality. Fourth, we present the methodologies of ontology analytics, design of experiments (DOE) and simulation analysis for AM system improvements. In closing, new process control approaches are discussed to optimize the action plans, once an anomaly is detected, with specific consideration of lead time and energy consumption.

Fast measurement-based generation of large-scale Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state with atomic nuclear-spin qubits

Large-scale Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger~(GHZ) state is useful for quantum technologies but difficult to be prepared. Here, we propose fast measurement-based preparation of large-scale GHZ states by a four-qubit quantum phase gate with nuclear-spin qubits of alkaline-earth-like atoms, which is named as quantum ferromagnetic gate~(QFG) due to its analogy to the alignment of molecular magnetic moments in a classical magnet. A high-fidelity Rydberg-mediated QFG can be realized in a time of $6\pi/\Omega_{\text{m}}$ with $\Omega_{\text{m}}$ the maximal Rydberg Rabi frequency. From a product state of three data atom and one ancilla atom, a gluing circuit with one QFG, two single-qubit gates, and a projective measurement of the ancilla can generate a 3-qubit GHZ state, and repetition of this gluing circuit can lead to 9, 27, 81, 243, $\cdots$-qubit GHZ states. Analyses based on currently available techniques show that a 243-qubit GHZ state is realizable, and more qubits can be entangled with higher detection fidelity.

Coherence enhancement of Rydberg polaritons

Quantum nonlinear optics by Rydberg polaritons can enable single-photon transistor and switch, single-photon source, and deterministic quantum information processing. A major hindrance in this study is the fast motional decoherence. Here, we devise a scheme to significantly enhance the coherence of Rydberg polariton by letting the atoms {\it remember} their velocities, or, alternatively, by {\it changing} the phase of Rydberg polariton according to its storage time. After the Rydberg polariton is prepared with a Rydberg state $|r_1\rangle$, i.e., during the storage time, two laser fields induce a transition between $|r_1\rangle$ and a nearby Rydberg state $|r_2\rangle$ via a low-lying intermediate state $\lvert f\rangle$ which is largely detuned. In particular, we find that either a $2\pi\mathbb{N}$ protocol, a $\pi$-wait-$\pi$ protocol, or a wait-$\pi$ protocol, along with an appropriate choice of $\lvert f\rangle$ can lead to a phase-coherent Rydberg polariton upon its retrieval. Importantly, the coherent transition between $|r_1\rangle$ and $|r_2\rangle$ ensures that the Rydberg polariton can block the Rydberg excitation of nearby atoms as in usual applications of Rydberg polaritons. Numerics show that the theory can nearly completely eliminate the motional dephasing, leaving Rydberg-state decay as the only fundamental channel of decoherence. This sheds light on a broad application of Rydberg-mediated quantum nonlinear optics.

Beyond the Single Camera: Agentic Multi-View Reasoning in Sports Video Understanding

Recent Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) achieve strong performance on single-view video understanding benchmarks. However, sports videos involve dense occlusion, rapid motion, and complex interactions that are difficult to resolve from a single viewpoint. In practice, sports events are recorded from multiple camera angles, providing complementary evidence used by referees. Yet, no existing benchmark evaluates MLLMs on multi-view sports video understanding. To address this gap, we introduce SportMV-Bench, a comprehensive benchmark built from official match recordings, through a dedicated pipeline combining LLM-based generation, MLLM-based verification, and human filtering to ensure quality and consistency. SportMV-Bench containing 1022 multi-view video bundles and 3015 question-answer pairs spanning 10 sports across three categories: Perception-Aware Recognition (PAR), Rule-aware Event Interpretation (REI), and Adjudicative Decision Reasoning (ADR). Our analysis shows that current MLLMs fail to effectively exploit multi-view information, with the bottlenecks lying in fine-grained visual perception and view selection rather than logical reasoning or domain knowledge. We propose SportMV-Agent, an agentic framework that orchestrates an iterative loop of active view selection, perception tool execution, and evidence-grounded reasoning, achieving a significant 15.61% relative improvement over the strongest MLLM baseline.

Accurate, Interdisciplinary and Transparent Structure-property Understanding with Deep Native Structural Reasoning

Structure-property relationships are foundational to biology, chemistry and materials science, where function, reactivity and physical response emerge from spatial, chemical and periodic organization. Mechanistically explaining these relationships requires interpreting structural evidence through scientific principles and physical constraints, from stereochemistry and bonding to symmetry, energetics and periodic order. However, applying artificial intelligence to this process presents a joint challenge of representation and reasoning: models must preserve domain-native structural information while showing how specific evidence supports predictions under these constraints. Here we introduce SciReasoner, a multimodal scientific foundation model for native structural reasoning across proteins, small molecules and inorganic crystals. SciReasoner discretizes coordinates, topologies and periodic connectivities into a unified structure-aware vocabulary, treating structural tokens as addressable evidence units during reasoning. In homology-controlled Gene Ontology prediction, SciReasoner improves Cellular Component annotation for low-homology and orphan-like proteins, increasing $F_{\max}$ from 0.42 to 0.55. In chemistry, it raises single-step retrosynthesis accuracy from 0.63 to 0.72 while generating fragment-level disconnection and precursor-verification traces. In materials science, its representations separate elemental and compound phases and resolve high- and low-band-gap regimes. Across 86 benchmarks, SciReasoner achieves state-of-the-art performance on 67 tasks. Double-blind expert evaluation rates its reasoning traces as preferred or at least comparable to those of a frontier large language model in 98% of cases. By making structure an inspectable substrate for reasoning under scientific constraints, SciReasoner connects accurate prediction with interpretable scientific inference.

ResearchStudio-Reel: Automate the Last Mile of Research from Paper to Poster, Video, and Blog

Despite growing automation, turning a paper into a coherent poster, talk video, and blog piece often remains a labor-intensive last mile. Recent systems increasingly generate multiple dissemination formats, but a practical workflow must also keep the outputs editable in native tools and bound into one navigable deliverable for revision and reuse. We present ResearchStudio-Reel, a native-editable dissemination workspace that binds its three artifacts into one interactive deliverable at the experience level, implemented as five skills executable in Claude Code and Codex: one shared extractor, three editable artifact generators, and one interactive convergence layer. A shared asset bundle feeds a PowerPoint poster and video deck, plus a bilingual Word blog; rather than re-rendering the paper into a fourth format, Paper2Reel converges these already-produced artifacts at the experience level, binding poster regions, video segments, and blog passages into one interactive viewer. Artifact-specific release checks make this delivery contract testable, and Paper2Poster additionally uses a measured-fill loop. On the Paper2Poster benchmark, our Claude Code configuration achieves the best scores among automated systems on all three aesthetic sub-criteria and the best or tied-best scores on two of three information sub-criteria. Under two VLMjudges, it exceeds the authors' posters in average aesthetics (3.56 vs. 3.03) and wins on overall quality on 74 and 95 of the 100 papers under the two judges. The full pipeline additionally packages the native-editable source artifacts and their aligned viewer. Project is available at https://aka.ms/ResearchStudio

ResearchStudio-Idea: An Evidence-Grounded Research-Ideation Skill Suite from ML Conference Outcomes

Large language models have made research ideation increasingly accessible, yet effective idea development requires more than generating candidate directions. Researchers must ground a problem in current literature, identify meaningful bottlenecks, differentiate from existing solutions, and evaluate risks before committing to implementation. We present ResearchStudio-Idea as a reusable skill suite for this first mile of research ideation. The suite includes Paper-Search, a standalone multi-source literature search skill; Scoop-Check, a standalone prior-art collision checker for novelty claims; and IdeaSpark, the end-to-end skill that composes evidence grounding, pattern-guided generation, collision retrieval, audit, and idea-card rendering into one workflow. IdeaSpark is constructed from a corpus of 1,947 machine learning conference papers collected from ICLR, ICML, and NeurIPS between 2021 and 2025, including Oral papers, a separately tracked high-citation subset, and rejected submissions. Analysis of these outcomes reveals 31 recurring ideation sub-patterns, consolidated into 15 reusable ideation patterns. Each pattern is operationalized as a structured card containing research contexts, bottleneck types, differentiation strategies, supporting precedents, and common failure modes. Given a research problem and an evidence bundle, IdeaSpark evaluates evidence readiness, reconstructs the surrounding research context, identifies unresolved bottlenecks, selects relevant patterns, instantiates one candidate direction, retrieves potentially conflicting prior work, and performs outcome-informed auditing. This workflow transforms reusable ideation patterns into traceable research proposals. Blind automated-judge evaluations show that IdeaSpark consistently produces stronger research proposals than no-skill and generic-skill baselines while maintaining competitive novelty.

Ink3D: Sculpting 3D Assets with Extremely Complex Textures via Video Generative Models

Recent 3D generative models can synthesize high-quality geometry but often struggle to reproduce intricate textures from reference images, largely due to the scarcity of large-scale 3D training data with rich surface appearance. In contrast, visual generative models are trained on datasets several orders of magnitude larger and excel at modeling complex visual patterns. Motivated by this gap, we introduce Ink3D, a framework that bridges 3D generation with large-scale video generative models to synthesize extremely complex textures. Ink3D first reconstructs a white-mesh geometry using an off-the-shelf 3D generation model. It then employs OrbitPainter, a conditional video generative model, to produce dense orbit-scan videos capturing object appearance across viewpoints. To convert these views into coherent textures, we introduce TextureOptimizer, a neural baking module that integrates dense multi-view observations while mitigating geometry inconsistencies arising from video generation. By decoupling geometry and texture synthesis and leveraging large-scale pretrained video priors, Ink3D enables significantly richer and more faithful texture generation than prior approaches.

TF-MoE: Time-Frequency Mixture-of-Experts for Efficient Speech Separation

Recent advances in speech separation (SS) have led to compact front-end models with small parameter sizes, yet their high computational cost remains a major barrier for deployment on edge devices. To address this, we propose TF-MoE, a sparse Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) framework that enhances model capacity with almost no increase in inference cost. Our method introduces dynamic expert specialization in time and frequency dimensions through alternating time-wise and frequency-wise MoE modules, each dynamically selecting experts per frame or mel band. Built upon a mel-band-splitting Conformer backbone, TF-MoE achieves strong performance on SS tasks under low-compute settings. Experimental results demonstrate that TF-MoE consistently improves separation performance under computation cost constraints, outperforming BSRNN by +3.8 dB SDR on Libri2Mix with comparable 4.1 GMACs/s inference cost. This positions TF-MoE as a promising candidate for edge-device deployment.

Intracranial Aneurysm Classification and Segmentation via Tri-Axial ROI and Multi-Task Learning

Intracranial aneurysms are often asymptomatic until rupture, which carries high mortality. Rupture risk assessment and treatment planning depend on both aneurysm morphology and anatomical location, yet existing automated methods remain limited to binary detection without fine-grained anatomical classification or multi-class segmentation. We present a multi-task framework that simultaneously performs multi-label classification, multi-class aneurysm segmentation, and multi-class vessel segmentation across 13 anatomical locations and four imaging modalities (CTA, MRA, T2, T1-post). Our two-stage approach combines a fast 2D tri-axial Region of Interest (ROI) extraction method with a 3D multi-task nnU-Net backbone. A dual-decoder design mitigates the extreme volume imbalance between aneurysm and vessel classes, while cross-attention pooling and modality-specific auxiliary heads improve feature learning across heterogeneous inputs. Our two-fold ensemble achieved 2nd place in the RSNA 2025 Intracranial Aneurysm Detection challenge. Code, model weights, a 3D Slicer plugin, and the corrected segmentation labels are publicly available.

TriggerBench: Investigating Prospective Memory for Large Language Models

While Large Language Models (LLMs) are increasingly deployed in long interactions, existing evaluations focus predominantly on retrospective memory (RM) via explicit queries. Prospective memory (PM), the critical ability to spontaneously recall and act on latent constraints without direct prompts, remains largely unevaluated. We introduce TriggerBench, a comprehensive PM benchmark spanning five dimensions across both daily assistants and professional workflows. TriggerBench pairs scenarios with matched RM controls, contrastive positive/negative variants, and overloaded triggers, enabling fine-grained measurement of proactive recall, false-alarm rate, and attentional robustness under a single protocol. Our evaluation yields three key findings. (i) PM shows a precision-recall trade-off and attentional fragility. Though enhanced reasoning significantly improves proactive recall, models may overfit to an "always-remind" heuristic. Furthermore, PM accuracy degrades substantially under implicit constraints or triggers overloaded by concurrent user requests, indicating that robust PM remains an open challenge. (ii) PM is notably harder than RM: on identical contexts, RM near-saturates up to 100K tokens, while PM decays sharply as context length scales. (iii) PM may serve as a behavioral probe of spare reasoning capacity. Pairing PM scenarios with AIME-2025 math problems reveals that successful trajectories yield higher PM accuracy than failed ones at the same context length, showing PM tracks spare reasoning budget that token count obscures.
