Dissipation driven boundary localization in higher order topological insulators

We study dissipation driven boundary localization in a Bernevig Hughes Zhang type second order topological insulator by introducing inhomogeneous, spin dependent boundary dissipation. After projection onto the edge subspace, the dominant component of the boundary dissipation lies in the same Pauli channel as the kinetic term. This channel gives both counter-propagating edge modes the same real transfer exponent. The two modes therefore accumulate at the same dissipative domain wall. For the corner states, the dissipative envelope competes with Jackiw Rebbi localization. Increasing dissipation moves their weight from the geometric corners to the dissipative domain wall. Propagating edge states also localize at this wall. Numerical calculations confirm the qualitative predictions of the edge theory. A fixed energy Feshbach reduction captures finite size effects. Inhomogeneous boundary dissipation thus controls boundary state localization without changing the bulk topology.

Enabling Ultra-Fast Cardiovascular Imaging Across Heterogeneous Clinical Environments with A Generalist Foundation Model and Multimodal Database

Multimodal cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging provides comprehensive and non-invasive insights into cardiovascular disease (CVD) diagnosis and underlying mechanisms. Despite decades of advancements, its widespread clinical adoption remains constrained by prolonged scan times, inconsistent image quality, and heterogeneity across medical environments. This underscores the urgent need for a generalist reconstruction foundation model for ultra-fast CMR imaging, one formulated for physics-constrained inverse problems in the sensor (k-space) domain, capable of adapting across diverse imaging scenarios and serving as the essential substrate for all downstream analyses. To enable this goal, we curate MMCMR-427K, the largest and most comprehensive multimodal CMR k-space database to date, comprising 427,465 multi-coil k-space data paired with structured metadata across 13 international centers, 12 CMR modalities, 15 scanners spanning four field strengths, and 17 CVD categories in populations across three continents. Building on this unprecedented resource, we introduce CardioMM, a generalist reconstruction foundation model capable of dynamically adapting to heterogeneous fast CMR imaging scenarios. CardioMM unifies semantic contextual understanding with physics-informed data consistency to deliver robust reconstructions across varied scanners, protocols, and patient presentations. Comprehensive evaluations demonstrate that CardioMM achieves state-of-the-art performance across internal centers and exhibits strong zero-shot generalization to unseen external settings. Importantly, CardioMM supports acceleration up to 24x, providing the first evidence that such extreme acquisition speed can preserve key cardiac phenotypes, quantitative myocardial biomarkers, and diagnostic image quality without compromising clinical integrity.

Seedance 1.5 pro: A Native Audio-Visual Joint Generation Foundation Model

Recent strides in video generation have paved the way for unified audio-visual generation. In this work, we present Seedance 1.5 pro, a foundational model engineered specifically for native, joint audio-video generation. Leveraging a dual-branch Diffusion Transformer architecture, the model integrates a cross-modal joint module with a specialized multi-stage data pipeline, achieving exceptional audio-visual synchronization and superior generation quality. To ensure practical utility, we implement meticulous post-training optimizations, including Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) on high-quality datasets and Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) with multi-dimensional reward models. Furthermore, we introduce an acceleration framework that boosts inference speed by over 10X. Seedance 1.5 pro distinguishes itself through precise multilingual and dialect lip-syncing, dynamic cinematic camera control, and enhanced narrative coherence, positioning it as a robust engine for professional-grade content creation. Seedance 1.5 pro is now accessible on Volcano Engine at https://console.volcengine.com/ark/region:ark+cn-beijing/experience/vision?type=GenVideo.

A Multi-Layered Framework for Modeling Human Biology: From Basic AI Agents to a Full-Body AI Agent

We envision the Full-Body AI Agent as a comprehensive AI system designed to simulate, analyze, and optimize the dynamic processes of the human body across multiple biological levels. By integrating computational models, machine learning tools, and experimental platforms, this system aims to replicate and predict both physiological and pathological processes, ranging from molecules and cells to tissues, organs, and entire body systems. Central to the Full-Body AI Agent is its emphasis on integration and coordination across these biological levels, enabling analysis of how molecular changes influence cellular behaviors, tissue responses, organ function, and systemic outcomes. With a focus on biological functionality, the system is designed to advance the understanding of disease mechanisms, support the development of therapeutic interventions, and enhance personalized medicine. We propose two specialized implementations to demonstrate the utility of this framework: (1) the metastasis AI Agent, a multi-scale metastasis scoring system that characterizes tumor progression across the initiation, dissemination, and colonization phases by integrating molecular, cellular, and systemic signals; and (2) the drug AI Agent, a system-level drug development paradigm in which a drug AI-Agent dynamically guides preclinical evaluations, including organoids and chip-based models, by providing full-body physiological constraints. This approach enables the predictive modeling of long-term efficacy and toxicity beyond what localized models alone can achieve. These two agents illustrate the potential of Full-Body AI Agent to address complex biomedical challenges through multi-level integration and cross-scale reasoning.

Improving Ontology Requirements Engineering with OntoChat and Participatory Prompting

Past ontology requirements engineering (ORE) has primarily relied on manual methods, such as interviews and collaborative forums, to gather user requirements from domain experts, especially in large projects. Current OntoChat offers a framework for ORE that utilises large language models (LLMs) to streamline the process through four key functions: user story creation, competency question (CQ) extraction, CQ filtration and analysis, and ontology testing support. In OntoChat, users are expected to prompt the chatbot to generate user stories. However, preliminary evaluations revealed that they struggle to do this effectively. To address this issue, we experimented with a research method called participatory prompting, which involves researcher-mediated interactions to help users without deep knowledge of LLMs use the chatbot more effectively. This participatory prompting user study produces pre-defined prompt templates based on user queries, focusing on creating and refining personas, goals, scenarios, sample data, and data resources for user stories. These refined user stories will subsequently be converted into CQs.

Endpoint theory for the compactness of commutators

In this paper, we establish a Minkowski-type inequality for weak Lebesgue space, which allows us to obtain a characterization of relative compactness in these spaces. Furthermore, we are the first to investigate the compactness results of commutators at the endpoint. The paper provides a comprehensive study of the compactness properties of commutators of Calder\'{o}n-Zygmund operators in Hardy and $L^{1}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ type spaces. Additionally, we provide factorization theorems for Hardy spaces in terms of singular integral operators in the $L^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$ space.

Wiener's criterion for degenerate parabolic equations

In this paper, we prove Wiener's criterion for parabolic equations with singular and degenerate coefficients. To be precise, we study the problem of the regularity of boundary points for the Dirichlet problem for degenerate parabolic equations, and give a geometric characterization of those boundary points that are regular.

Critical Fujita exponent for a semilinear heat equation with degenerate coefficients

We prove the existence of a critical Fujita exponent for a non-homogeneous semilinear heat equation which involves degenerate coefficients. More precisely, in order to give a rather complete theory, we focus on two types of weights $w(x)=|x_1|^a$ or $w(x)=|x|^b$ where $a, b>0$ in a suitable range. The coefficients under consideration admit either a singularity at the origin or a line of singularities. In the latter case, the problem is related to the fractional Laplacian.

Low-dose CT reconstruction by self-supervised learning in the projection domain

In the intention of minimizing excessive X-ray radiation administration to patients, low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) has become a distinct trend in radiology. However, while lowering the radiation dose reduces the risk to the patient, it also increases noise and artifacts, compromising image quality and clinical diagnosis. In most supervised learning methods, paired CT images are required, but such images are unlikely to be available in the clinic. We present a self-supervised learning model (Noise2Projection) that fully exploits the raw projection images to reduce noise and improve the quality of reconstructed LDCT images. Unlike existing self-supervised algorithms, the proposed method only requires noisy CT projection images and reduces noise by exploiting the correlation between nearby projection images. We trained and tested the model using clinical data and the quantitative and qualitative results suggest that our model can effectively reduce LDCT image noise while also drastically removing artifacts in LDCT images.

$H^{1+\alpha}$ estimates for the fully nonlinear parabolic thin obstacle problem

We study the regularity of the viscosity solution to the fully nonlinear parabolic thin obstacle problem. In particular, we prove that the solution is local $H^{1+\alpha}$ on each side of the smooth obstacle, for some small $\alpha>0.$ Following the method which was first introduced for the harmonic case by Caffarelli in 1979, we extend the results of Fern\'{a}ndez-Real (2016) who treated the fully nonlinear elliptic case. Our results also extend those of Chatzigeorgiou (2019) in two ways. First, we do not assume solutions nor operators to be symmetric. Second, our estimates are local, in the sense that do not rely on the boundary data.
