PriHA: A RAG-Enhanced LLM Framework for Primary Healthcare Assistant in Hong Kong

To address the unsustainable rise in public health expenditures, the Hong Kong SAR Government is shifting its strategic focus to primary healthcare and encouraging citizens to use community resources to self-manage their health. However, official clinical guidelines are fragmented across disparate departments and formats, creating significant access barriers. While general-purpose Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT and DeepSeek offer potential solutions for information accessibility, they are prone to generating factually inaccurate content due to a lack of localized and domain-specific knowledge. To this end, we propose a Retrieval-Augmented Generation-Enhanced LLM system as Primary Healthcare Assistant (PriHA) in Hong Kong. Specifically, a tri-stage pipeline is proposed that leverages a query optimizer to generalize user intent-oriented sub-queries, followed by a novel Dual Retrieval Augmented Generation (DRAG) architecture for mixed-source retrieval and context-reorganized generation. Comprehensive experiments and a detailed case study demonstrate that our proposed method can outperform both ablations and baseline in terms of accuracy and clarity. Our research provides a reliable and traceable dialogue retrieval framework for exploring other high-risk, localized application scenarios.

DeMa: Dual-Path Delay-Aware Mamba for Efficient Multivariate Time Series Analysis

Accurate and efficient multivariate time series (MTS) analysis is increasingly critical for a wide range of intelligent applications. Within this realm, Transformers have emerged as the predominant architecture due to their strong ability to capture pairwise dependencies. However, Transformer-based models suffer from quadratic computational complexity and high memory overhead, limiting their scalability and practical deployment in long-term and large-scale MTS modeling. Recently, Mamba has emerged as a promising linear-time alternative with high expressiveness. Nevertheless, directly applying vanilla Mamba to MTS remains suboptimal due to three key limitations: (i) the lack of explicit cross-variate modeling, (ii) difficulty in disentangling the entangled intra-series temporal dynamics and inter-series interactions, and (iii) insufficient modeling of latent time-lag interaction effects. These issues constrain its effectiveness across diverse MTS tasks. To address these challenges, we propose DeMa, a dual-path delay-aware Mamba backbone. DeMa preserves Mamba's linear-complexity advantage while substantially improving its suitability for MTS settings. Specifically, DeMa introduces three key innovations: (i) it decomposes the MTS into intra-series temporal dynamics and inter-series interactions; (ii) it develops a temporal path with a Mamba-SSD module to capture long-range dynamics within each individual series, enabling series-independent, parallel computation; and (iii) it designs a variate path with a Mamba-DALA module that integrates delay-aware linear attention to model cross-variate dependencies. Extensive experiments on five representative tasks, long- and short-term forecasting, data imputation, anomaly detection, and series classification, demonstrate that DeMa achieves state-of-the-art performance while delivering remarkable computational efficiency.

Double-Calibration: Towards Reliable LLMs via Calibrating Knowledge and Reasoning Confidence

Reliable reasoning in Large Language Models (LLMs) is challenged by their propensity for hallucination. While augmenting LLMs with Knowledge Graphs (KGs) improves factual accuracy, existing KG-augmented methods fail to quantify epistemic uncertainty in both the retrieved evidence and LLMs' reasoning. To bridge this gap, we introduce DoublyCal, a framework built on a novel double-calibration principle. DoublyCal employs a lightweight proxy model to first generate KG evidence alongside a calibrated evidence confidence. This calibrated supporting evidence then guides a black-box LLM, yielding final predictions that are not only more accurate but also well-calibrated, with confidence scores traceable to the uncertainty of the supporting evidence. Experiments on knowledge-intensive benchmarks show that DoublyCal significantly improves both the accuracy and confidence calibration of black-box LLMs while maintaining low token cost.

Optimizing Tracking Accuracy in Energy-Constrained Multimodal ISAC via Lyapunov-Driven Heterogeneous Mixture-of-Experts

The integration of multimodal sensing and millimeter-wave (mmWave) communications is a key enabler for highly mobile vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) networks. However, continuous high-resolution visual sensing incurs prohibitive computational energy, while delayed sensing information causes severe beam misalignment. This paper establishes a physics-aware multimodal integrated sensing and communication (M-ISAC) framework that mathematically bridges network-layer queuing delays with physical-layer spatial uncertainty via the semantic age of information (AoI). Guided by this relationship, we aim to strike an optimal trade-off between the tracking posterior Cramer-Rao bound (PCRB) and system energy budgets, we formulate a stochastic mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) problem. Addressing the coupled challenges of temporal computing congestion and non-convex constant modulus constraints, we propose a reinforcement learning (RL) framework empowered by a Lyapunov-driven heterogeneous mixture-of-experts (LD-H-MoE) architecture. By strictly decoupling temporal scheduling and spatial phase mapping into specialized subnetworks, the LD-H-MoE circumvents gradient conflicts prevalent in monolithic multi-task learning. Simulations demonstrate that the proposed LD-H-MoE achieves a highly-effective event-triggered sensing policy, yielding superior tracking accuracy and radio-frequency (RF) resilience while guaranteeing edge computing queue stability and long-term energy budgets.

MolReFlect: Towards In-Context Fine-grained Alignments between Molecules and Texts

Molecule discovery is a pivotal research field, impacting everything from medicine to materials. Recently, Large Language Models (LLMs) have been widely adopted in molecular understanding and generation, serving as a bridge between the molecular space and the natural language space, yet the alignment between molecules and their corresponding captions remains a significant challenge. Previous endeavors typically treat molecules as monolithic inputs, lacking an intermediate reasoning process and sacrificing explainability. In this work, we define fine-grained alignments as the precise correspondence between a molecule's sub-structures and the textual phrases that explain their properties. These alignments are crucial for LLMs to understand molecules in a more accurate and explainable manner. Normally, such fine-grained alignments require expert annotation, which is both costly and time-consuming. To allow LLMs to automatically label and learn the fine-grained alignments, we propose MolReFlect, a novel teacher-student framework, where a teacher LLM first generates and refines mappings between caption phrases and SMILES substructures and then explicitly teaches these detailed alignments to a student LLM. Experimental results demonstrate that MolReFlect enables LLMs to significantly outperform previous baselines, achieving the state-of-the-art performance in the molecule-caption translation task. mKG-RAG: Leveraging Multimodal Knowledge Graphs in Retrieval-Augmented Generation for Knowledge-intensive VQA

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) has emerged as an effective paradigm for expanding the knowledge capacity of Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) by incorporating external knowledge sources into the generation process, and has been widely adopted for knowledge-based Visual Question Answering (VQA). Despite impressive advancements, vanilla RAG-based VQA methods that rely on unstructured documents and overlook the structural relations among knowledge elements frequently introduce irrelevant or misleading content, degrading answer accuracy and reliability. To overcome these challenges, a promising solution is to integrate multimodal knowledge graphs (KGs) into RAG-based VQA frameworks, thereby enhancing generation through structured multimodal knowledge. To this end, this paper proposes mKG-RAG, a novel retrieval-augmented generation framework built upon multimodal KGs for knowledge-intensive VQA tasks. Specifically, mKG-RAG leverages MLLM-driven graph extraction and vision-text matching to distill semantically consistent, modality-complementary entities and relations from multimodal documents, constructing high-quality multimodal KGs as structured knowledge representations. Furthermore, a dual-stage retrieval strategy equipped with a query-aware multimodal retriever is introduced to improve retrieval efficiency while progressively refining precision. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that our approach significantly outperforms existing approaches and sets new state-of-the-art results for knowledge-based VQA. The code is available at https://github.com/xandery-geek/mKG-RAG.

MegaFake: A Theory-Driven Dataset of Fake News Generated by Large Language Models

Fake news significantly influences decision-making processes by misleading individuals, organizations, and even governments. Large language models (LLMs), as part of generative AI, can amplify this problem by generating highly convincing fake news at scale, posing a significant threat to online information integrity. Therefore, understanding the motivations and mechanisms behind fake news generated by LLMs is crucial for effective detection and governance. In this study, we develop the LLM-Fake Theory, a theoretical framework that integrates various social psychology theories to explain machine-generated deception. Guided by this framework, we design an innovative prompt engineering pipeline that automates fake news generation using LLMs, eliminating manual annotation needs. Utilizing this pipeline, we create a theoretically informed \underline{M}achin\underline{e}-\underline{g}ener\underline{a}ted \underline{Fake} news dataset, MegaFake, derived from FakeNewsNet. Through extensive experiments with MegaFake, we advance both theoretical understanding of human-machine deception mechanisms and practical approaches to fake news detection in the LLM era.

Graph Defense Diffusion Model

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) are highly vulnerable to adversarial attacks, which can greatly degrade their performance. Existing graph purification methods attempt to address this issue by filtering attacked graphs. However, they struggle to defend effectively against multiple types of adversarial attacks (e.g., targeted attacks and non-targeted attacks) simultaneously due to limited flexibility. Additionally, these methods lack comprehensive modeling of graph data, relying heavily on heuristic prior knowledge. To overcome these challenges, we introduce the Graph Defense Diffusion Model (GDDM), a flexible purification method that leverages the denoising and modeling capabilities of diffusion models. The iterative nature of diffusion models aligns well with the stepwise process of adversarial attacks, making them particularly suitable for defense. By iteratively adding and removing noises (edges), GDDM effectively purifies attacked graphs, restoring their original structures and features. Our GDDM consists of two key components: (1) Graph Structure-Driven Refiner, which preserves the basic fidelity of the graph during the denoising process, and ensures that the generated graph remains consistent with the original scope; and (2) Node Feature-Constrained Regularizer, which removes residual impurities from the denoised graph, further enhancing the purification effect. By designing tailored denoising strategies to handle different types of adversarial attacks, we improve the GDDM's adaptability to various attack scenarios. Furthermore, GDDM demonstrates strong scalability, leveraging its structural properties to seamlessly transfer across similar datasets without retraining. Extensive experiments on three real-world datasets demonstrate that GDDM outperforms state-of-the-art methods in defending against various adversarial attacks, showcasing its robustness and effectiveness.

Automatic Self-supervised Learning for Social Recommendations

In recent years, researchers have leveraged social relations to enhance recommendation performance. However, most existing social recommendation methods require carefully designed auxiliary social tasks tailored to specific scenarios, which depend heavily on domain knowledge and expertise. To address this limitation, we propose Automatic Self-supervised Learning for Social Recommendations (AusRec), which integrates multiple self-supervised auxiliary tasks with an automatic weighting mechanism to adaptively balance their contributions through a meta-learning optimization framework. This design enables the model to automatically learn the optimal importance of each auxiliary task, thereby enhancing representation learning in social recommendations. Extensive experiments on several real-world datasets demonstrate that AusRec consistently outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, validating its effectiveness and robustness across different recommendation scenarios.

Balancing User Preferences by Social Networks: A Condition-Guided Social Recommendation Model for Mitigating Popularity Bias

Social recommendation models weave social interactions into their design to provide uniquely personalized recommendation results for users. However, social networks not only amplify the popularity bias in recommendation models, resulting in more frequent recommendation of hot items and fewer long-tail items, but also include a substantial amount of redundant information that is essentially meaningless for the model's performance. Existing social recommendation models often integrate the entire social network directly, with little effort to filter or adjust social information to mitigate popularity bias introduced by the social network. In this paper, we propose a Condition-Guided Social Recommendation Model (named CGSoRec) to mitigate the model's popularity bias by denoising the social network and adjusting the weights of user's social preferences. More specifically, CGSoRec first includes a Condition-Guided Social Denoising Model (CSD) to remove redundant social relations in the social network for capturing users' social preferences with items more precisely. Then, CGSoRec calculates users' social preferences based on denoised social network and adjusts the weights in users' social preferences to make them can counteract the popularity bias present in the recommendation model. At last, CGSoRec includes a Condition-Guided Diffusion Recommendation Model (CGD) to introduce the adjusted social preferences as conditions to control the recommendation results for a debiased direction. Comprehensive experiments on three real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method.

Mamba-Based Graph Convolutional Networks: Tackling Over-smoothing with Selective State Space

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have shown great success in various graph-based learning tasks. However, it often faces the issue of over-smoothing as the model depth increases, which causes all node representations to converge to a single value and become indistinguishable. This issue stems from the inherent limitations of GNNs, which struggle to distinguish the importance of information from different neighborhoods. In this paper, we introduce MbaGCN, a novel graph convolutional architecture that draws inspiration from the Mamba paradigm-originally designed for sequence modeling. MbaGCN presents a new backbone for GNNs, consisting of three key components: the Message Aggregation Layer, the Selective State Space Transition Layer, and the Node State Prediction Layer. These components work in tandem to adaptively aggregate neighborhood information, providing greater flexibility and scalability for deep GNN models. While MbaGCN may not consistently outperform all existing methods on each dataset, it provides a foundational framework that demonstrates the effective integration of the Mamba paradigm into graph representation learning. Through extensive experiments on benchmark datasets, we demonstrate that MbaGCN paves the way for future advancements in graph neural network research.

SUPERGLASSES: Benchmarking Vision Language Models as Intelligent Agents for AI Smart Glasses

The rapid advancement of AI-powered smart glasses-one of the hottest wearable devices-has unlocked new frontiers for multimodal interaction, with Visual Question Answering (VQA) over external knowledge sources emerging as a core application. Existing Vision Language Models (VLMs) adapted to smart glasses are typically trained and evaluated on traditional multimodal datasets; however, these datasets lack the variety and realism needed to reflect smart glasses usage scenarios and diverge from their specific challenges, where accurately identifying the object of interest must precede any external knowledge retrieval. To bridge this gap, we introduce SUPER- GLASSES, the first comprehensive VQA benchmark built on real-world data entirely collected by smart glasses devices. SUPERGLASSES comprises 2,422 egocentric image-question pairs spanning 14 image domains and 8 query categories, enriched with full search trajectories and reasoning annotations. We evaluate 26 representative VLMs on this benchmark, revealing significant performance gaps. To address the limitations of existing models, we further propose the SUPERLENS, a multimodal smart glasses agent that enables retrieval-augmented answer generation by integrating automatic object detection, query decoupling, and multimodal web search. SUPERLENS achieves state-of-the-art performance, outperforming GPT-4o by 2.19%, underscoring the need for task-specific solutions in smart glasses VQA. With the rise of LLMs, there is an increasing need for intelligent recommendation assistants that can handle complex queries and provide personalized, reasoning-driven recommendations. LLM-based recommenders show potential but face challenges in multi-step reasoning, underscoring the need for reasoning-augmented systems. To address this gap, we propose ReRec, a novel reinforcement fine-tuning (RFT) framework designed to improve LLM reasoning in complex recommendation tasks. Our framework introduces three key components: (1) Dual-Graph Enhanced Reward Shaping, integrating recommendation metrics like NDCG@K with Query Alignment and Preference Alignment Scores to provide fine-grained reward signals for LLM optimization; (2) Reasoning-aware Advantage Estimation, which decomposes LLM outputs into reasoning segments and penalizes incorrect steps to enhance reasoning of recommendation; and (3) Online Curriculum Scheduler, dynamically assess query difficulty and organize training curriculum to ensure stable learning during RFT. Stochastic Momentum Tracking Push-Pull for Decentralized Optimization over Directed Graphs

Decentralized optimization over directed networks is frequently challenged by asymmetric communication and the inherent high variance of stochastic gradients, which collectively cause severe oscillations and hinder algorithmic convergence. To address these challenges, we propose the Stochastic Momentum Tracking Push-Pull (SMTPP) algorithm, which tracks the momentum term rather than raw stochastic gradients within the Push-Pull architecture. This design successfully decouples the variance reduction capacity from the algebraic connectivity of the graph.Although the inherent topology mismatch of directed graphs precludes exact convergence under persistent stochastic noise, SMTPP rigorously compresses this unavoidable steady-state error floor into a minimal neighborhood determined by network connectivity and gradient variance. Furthermore, SMTPP guarantees convergence on any strongly connected directed graph. Extensive experiments on non-convex logistic regression demonstrate that the algorithm is highly robust to network connectivity. By effectively dampening topology-induced oscillations, SMTPP achieves convergence rates and overall performance that closely match those of centralized baselines, regardless of whether the network is sparse or dense.

Improved Convergence for Decentralized Stochastic Optimization with Biased Gradients

Decentralized stochastic optimization has emerged as a fundamental paradigm for large-scale machine learning. However, practical implementations often rely on biased gradient estimators arising from communication compression or inexact local oracles, which severely degrade convergence in the presence of data heterogeneity. To address the challenge, we propose Decentralized Momentum Tracking with Biased Gradients (Biased-DMT), a novel decentralized algorithm designed to operate reliably under biased gradient information. We establish a comprehensive convergence theory for Biased-DMT in nonconvex settings and show that it achieves linear speedup with respect to the number of agents. The theoretical analysis shows that Biased-DMT decouples the effects of network topology from data heterogeneity, enabling robust performance even in sparse communication networks. Notably, when the gradient oracle introduces only absolute bias, the proposed method eliminates the structural heterogeneity error and converges to the exact physical error floor. For the case of relative bias, we further characterize the convergence limit and show that the remaining error is an unavoidable physical consequence of locally injected noise. Extensive numerical experiments corroborate our theoretical analysis and demonstrate the practical effectiveness of Biased-DMT across a range of decentralized learning scenarios.

Heterogeneous Mixture-of-Experts for Energy-Efficient Multimodal ISAC in Highly Mobile Networks

The integration of multimodal sensing and millimeter-wave (mmWave) communications is a key enabler for highly mobile vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) networks. However, continuous high-resolution visual sensing incurs prohibitive computational energy, while delayed sensing information worsens beam misalignment. In this paper, we establish a physics-aware multimodel integrated sensing and communication (M-ISAC) framework that quantifies the mathematical trade-off between sensing energy and communication reliability using the semantic age of information (AoI). To address the coupled challenges of temporal AoI evolution and instantaneous non-convex constant modulus constraints, we propose a novel reinforcement learning approach empowered by a heterogeneous mixture-of-experts (RL-H-MoE) architecture. By strictly decoupling the temporal scheduling and spatial phase mapping, the RL-H-MoE avoids prevalent gradient conflicts in multi-task learning. Extensive simulations demonstrate that the proposed architecture achieves an optimal event-triggered sensing policy, significantly minimizing the long-term system cost while guaranteeing ultra-low sensing errors and reliable physical-layer link connectivity.

A Survey of Mamba

As one of the most representative DL techniques, Transformer architecture has empowered numerous advanced models, especially the large language models (LLMs) that comprise billions of parameters, becoming a cornerstone in deep learning. Despite the impressive achievements, Transformers still face inherent limitations, particularly the time-consuming inference resulting from the quadratic computation complexity of attention calculation. Recently, a novel architecture named Mamba, drawing inspiration from classical state space models (SSMs), has emerged as a promising alternative for building foundation models, delivering comparable modeling abilities to Transformers while preserving near-linear scalability concerning sequence length. This has sparked an increasing number of studies actively exploring Mamba's potential to achieve impressive performance across diverse domains. Given such rapid evolution, there is a critical need for a systematic review that consolidates existing Mamba-empowered models, offering a comprehensive understanding of this emerging model architecture. In this survey, we therefore conduct an in-depth investigation of recent Mamba-associated studies, covering three main aspects: the advancements of Mamba-based models, the techniques of adapting Mamba to diverse data, and the applications where Mamba can excel. Specifically, we first review the foundational knowledge of various representative deep learning models and the details of Mamba-1&2 as preliminaries. Then, to showcase the significance of Mamba for AI, we comprehensively review the related studies focusing on Mamba models' architecture design, data adaptability, and applications. Finally, we present a discussion of current limitations and explore various promising research directions to provide deeper insights for future investigations.

QA-Dragon: Query-Aware Dynamic RAG System for Knowledge-Intensive Visual Question Answering

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) has been introduced to mitigate hallucinations in Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) by incorporating external knowledge into the generation process, and it has become a widely adopted approach for knowledge-intensive Visual Question Answering (VQA). However, existing RAG methods typically retrieve from either text or images in isolation, limiting their ability to address complex queries that require multi-hop reasoning or up-to-date factual knowledge. To address this limitation, we propose QA-Dragon, a Query-Aware Dynamic RAG System for Knowledge-Intensive VQA. Specifically, QA-Dragon introduces a domain router to identify the query's subject domain for domain-specific reasoning, along with a search router that dynamically selects optimal retrieval strategies. By orchestrating both text and image search agents in a hybrid setup, our system supports multimodal, multi-turn, and multi-hop reasoning, enabling it to tackle complex VQA tasks effectively. We evaluate our QA-Dragon on the Meta CRAG-MM Challenge at KDD Cup 2025, where it significantly enhances the reasoning performance of base models under challenging scenarios. Our framework achieves substantial improvements in both answer accuracy and knowledge overlap scores, outperforming baselines by 5.06% on the single-source task, 6.35% on the multi-source task, and 5.03% on the multi-turn task.
