3- and 4- body meson- nuclear clusters

The binding energies and matter distributions for the 3- body systems like $ϕ$- meson + 2N, 2$ϕ$ + N and 4- body system like $ϕ$+3n are calculated. For the 3- particle systems two- dimensional Faddeev equations in the differential form are used. For the 4- body system $ϕ$+3n the folding model is applied.

Three-body resonances Lambda-n-n and Lambda-Lambda-n

Possible bound and resonant states of the hypernuclear systems $Λnn$ and $ΛΛn$ are sought as zeros of the corresponding three-body Jost functions calculated within the framework of the hyperspherical approach with local two-body S-wave potentials describing the $nn$, $Λn$, and $ΛΛ$ interactions. Very wide near-threshold resonances are found for both three-body systems. The positions of these resonances turned out to be sensitive to the choice of the $Λn$-potential. Bound $Λnn$ and $ΛΛn$ states only appear if the two-body potentials are multiplied by a factor of $\sim 1.5$.

Binding of charmonium with two- and three-body nuclei

The energies of the (eta_c d) and (eta_c 3He) bound states are calculated on the basis of exact three- and four-body AGS equations. For the eta_c N interaction a Yukawa-type potential has been adopted. The calculations are done for a certain range of its strength parameter. The results obtained are quite different from calculations based on the folding model.

Differential Form of the Skornyakov--Ter-Martirosyan Equations

The Skornyakov--Ter-Martirosyan three-boson integral equations in momentum space are transformed into differential equations. This allows us to take into account quite directly the Danilov condition providing self-adjointness of the underlying three-body Hamiltonian with zero-range pair interactions. For the helium trimer the numerical solutions of the resulting differential equations are compared with those of the Faddeev-type AGS equations.

Binding of eta_c meson with light nucleus

Binding energy of eta_c with ^4 He has been calculated on the basis of Yukawa type potential. Final Rank Approximation (FRA) has been used for microscopical treatment of the initial 5-body problem. The results are compared with the results of the folding model and variational calculations.

Binding Energies and Scattering Observables in the ^3He^4He_2 Atomic System

The ^3He^4He_2 three-atomic system is studied on the basis of a hard-core version of the Faddeev differential equations. The binding energy of the ^3He^4He_2 trimer, scattering phase shifts, and the scattering length of a ^3He atom off a ^4He dimer are calculated using the LM2M2 and TTY He-He interatomic potentials.

The ^3He^4He_2$ trimer within the hard-core Faddeev approach

We apply a hard-core version of the Faddeev differential equations to the ^3He^4He_2 three-atomic system. Employing the TTY interatomic potential by Tang, Toennies and Yiu we calculate the binding energy of the ^3He^4He_2 trimer and the scattering length of a ^3He atom off a ^4He dimer.

Near-Threshold Photoproduction of eta-mesons on Three-Nucleon Nuclei

A microscopic few-body description of near-threshold coherent photoproduction of the eta meson on tritium and 3He targets is given. The photoproduction cross-section is calculated using the Finite Rank Approximation (FRA) of the nuclear Hamiltonian. The results indicate a strong final state interaction of the eta meson with the residual nucleus. Sensitivity of the results to the choice of the eta N T-matrix is investigated.

Coherent Photoproduction of eta-mesons on Three-Nucleon Systems

A microscopic few-body description of near-threshold coherent photoproduction of the eta-meson on tritium and He3 targets is given. The photoproduction cross-section is calculated using the Finite Rank Approximation (FRA) of the nuclear Hamiltonian. The results indicate a strong final state interaction of the eta-meson with the residual nucleus. Sensitivity of the results to the choice of the eta-N T-matrix is investigated. The importance of obeying the two-body unitarity condition in the eta-N system is demonstrated.

Microscopic description of $η$-photoproduction on light nuclei

A microscopic four-body description of near-threshold coherent photoproduction of the $η$ meson on the (3N)-nuclei is given. The photoproduction cross-section is calculated using the Finite Rank Approximation (FRA) of the nuclear Hamiltonian. The results indicate that the final state interaction of the $η$ meson with the residual nucleus plays an important role in the photoproduction process. Sensitivity of the results to the choice of the $ηN$ T-matrix is investigated. The importance of obeying the condition of $ηN$ unitarity is demonstrated.

Low energy scattering and photoproduction of $η$-mesons on deuterons

Photo-production of $η$-mesons and their collisions with light nuclei are studied within the Alt-Grassberger-Sandhas (AGS) formalism for different parameters of $ηN$ interaction. A three-body resonance or a quasi-bound state is found close to the $ηd$ threshold. Expected manifestation of this resonant behavior of $ηd$ elastic scattering in various processes involving $ηd$-system in their final states was found in calculations of the $γd \to ηd$ reaction in the framework of modified AGS equations. These calculations revealed peaks in the energy dependence of the total cross-section almost at the same energies as in the elastic $ηd$ scattering. Meanwhile, such peaks did not appear in the impulse approximation (i.e. when $ηd$ resonance was not taken into account). This sheds some light on the nature of the enhancement of $η$ photo-production on deuteron observed recently in the low energy experiments.

Perturbation of a lattice spectral band by a nearby resonance

A soluble model of weakly coupled "molecular" and "nuclear" Hamiltonians is studied in order to exhibit explicitly the mechanism leading to the enhancement of fusion probability in case of a narrow near-threshold nuclear resonance. We, further, consider molecular cells of this type being arranged in lattice structures. It is shown that if the real part of the narrow nuclear resonance lies within the molecular band generated by the intercellular interaction, an enhancement, proportional to the inverse width of the nuclear resonance, is to be expected.

Binding Energies and Scattering Observables in the 4Helium3 Atomic System

The 4He3 system is investigated using a hard-core version of the Faddeev differential equations and realistic 4He-4He interactions. We calculate the binding energies of the 4He trimer but concentrate in particular on scattering observables. The atom-diatom scattering lengths are calculated as well as the atom-diatom phase shifts for center of mass energies up to 2.45 mK.

Photonuclear Reactions of Three-Nucleon Systems

We discuss the available data for the differential and the total cross section for the photodisintegration of $^3$He and $^3$H and the corresponding inverse reactions below $E_γ= 100$ MeV by comparing with our calculations using realistic $NN$ interactions. The theoretical results agree within the errorbars with the data for the total cross sections. Excellent agreement is achieved for the angular distribution in case of $^3$He, whereas for $^3$H a discrepancy between theory and experiment is found.

Faddeev-type calculation of eta-d threshold scattering

The scattering length for the eta-meson collision with deuteron is calculated on the basis of rigorous few-body equations (AGS) for various eta-N input. The results obtained strongly support the existence of a resonance or quasi-bound state close to the eta-d threshold.

Binding Energies and Scattering Observables in the 4^He_3 Atomic System

The ^4He_3 bound states and the scattering of a ^4He atom off a ^4He dimer at ultra-low energies are investigated using a hard-core version of the Faddeev differential equations. Various realistic ^4He-^4He interactions were employed, amomg them the LM2M2 potential by Aziz and Slaman and the recent TTY potential by Tang, Toennies and Yiu. The ground state and the excited (Efimov) state obtained are compared with other results. The scattering lengths and the atom-diatom phase shifts were calculated for center of mass energies up to 2.45 mK. It was found that the LM2M2 and TTY potentials, although of quite different structure, give practically the same bound-state and scattering results.

Integral Equation Results for the 4He(e,e'p)3H Reaction at High Missing Momenta

The two-fragment electrodisintegration of 4He into proton and triton is calculated in Plane Wave Impulse Approximation (PWIA). The three- and four-nucleon wave functions involved are obtained by solving the Alt-Grassberger-Sandhas (AGS) integral equations, with the Malfliet-Tjon potential as the underlying NN-interaction. Our results are in remarkable agreement with the experimental data and, in contrast to alternative approaches, do not exhibit any dip in the five-fold differential cross section at a missing momentum of ~ 450 MeV/c.
