Maximum Entropy Probability Distributions on Spheres with Fixed Mean Busemann Function and Holomorphic-Information-Geometric Model of Cognition

In the first half of the paper we revisit the question regarding MaxEnt probability distributions on spheres. We derive families of MaxEnt distributions on spheres in real and complex vector spaces with fixed expected Busemann function (energy). As a particular case, we deduce sub-families on canonical energy levels where inverse temperature equals the dimension of the sphere. In the second part we focus on the information manifold of canonical MaxEnt distributions on the sphere in the complex vector space. This manifold is isomorphic to the Bergman ball. We introduce the reproducing kernel on this manifold and use the RKHS theory to elaborate the model of cognition. In particular, we state the principle of minimal cognitive effort in RKHS and demonstrate its dual relationship with the MaxEnt principle for probability distributions on the boundary sphere.

Conformal and holomorphic barycenters in hyperbolic balls

We introduce the notions of \textit{conformal barycenter} and \textit{holomorphic barycenter} of a measurable set $D$ in the hyperbolic ball. The two barycenters coincide in the disk, but they differ in multidimensional balls $\mathbb{C}^m \cong \mathbb{R}^{2m}$. These notions are counterparts of barycenters of measures on spheres, introduced by Douady and Earle in 1986.

Conformally Natural Families of Probability Distributions on Hyperbolic Disc with a View on Geometric Deep Learning

We introduce the novel family of probability distributions on hyperbolic disc. The distinctive property of the proposed family is invariance under the actions of the group of disc-preserving conformal mappings. The group-invariance property renders it a convenient and tractable model for encoding uncertainties in hyperbolic data. Potential applications in Geometric Deep Learning and bioinformatics are numerous, some of them are briefly discussed. We also emphasize analogies with hyperbolic coherent states in quantum physics.

Kuramoto Oscillators and Swarms on Manifolds for Geometry Informed Machine Learning

We propose the idea of using Kuramoto models (including their higher-dimensional generalizations) for machine learning over non-Euclidean data sets. These models are systems of matrix ODE's describing collective motions (swarming dynamics) of abstract particles (generalized oscillators) on spheres, homogeneous spaces and Lie groups. Such models have been extensively studied from the beginning of XXI century both in statistical physics and control theory. They provide a suitable framework for encoding maps between various manifolds and are capable of learning over spherical and hyperbolic geometries. In addition, they can learn coupled actions of transformation groups (such as special orthogonal, unitary and Lorentz groups). Furthermore, we overview families of probability distributions that provide appropriate statistical models for probabilistic modeling and inference in Geometric Deep Learning. We argue in favor of using statistical models which arise in different Kuramoto models in the continuum limit of particles. The most convenient families of probability distributions are those which are invariant with respect to actions of certain symmetry groups.

Ott-Antonsen reduction for the non-Abelian Kuramoto model on the 3-sphere

We are interested in low-dimensional dynamics in an ensemble of coupled nonidentical generalized oscillators on the 3-sphere. The system of governing equations for such an ensemble is referred to as non-Abelian Kuramoto model in the literature. We establish an analogue (or an extension) of the Ott-Antonsen (OA) result for this model.
