Categories of Constructible Sheaves

Given a stratified topological space, we answer the question whether the functor from the derived category of constructible sheaves to the derived category of sheaves with constructible cohomology is an equivalence. We also establish basic facts on the category of locally constant sheaves and on the category of constructible sheaves.

Quantum Elliptic Curves I: Algebraic Case

A complex elliptic curve $E$ can be defined as the quotient of the analytic space $\mathbb{C}^*$ by a discrete action of the cyclic group $q^{\mathbb{Z}}$ for $\vert q\vert \neq 1$. We study the boundary case when $\vert q\vert =1$, which leads to the notion of a quantum elliptic curve and a conjectural equivalence of categories that one might call a noncommutative GAGA.

On cohomological and K-theoretical Hall algebras of symmetric quivers

We give a brief review of the cohomological Hall algebra CoHA $\mathcal{H}$ and the K-theoretical Hall algebra KHA $\mathcal{R}$ associated to quivers. In the case of symmetric quivers, we show that there exists a homomorphism of algebras (obtained from a Chern character map) $\mathcal{R}\to \hat{\mathcal{H}}^{\sigma}$ where $\hat{\mathcal{H}}^{\sigma}$ is a Zhang twist of the completion of $\mathcal{H}$. Moreover, we establish the equivalence of categories of ``locally finite'' graded modules $\hat{\mathcal{H}}^{\sigma}-{\rm Mod}_{lf}\simeq \mathcal{R}_{\mathbb Q}-{\rm Mod}_{lf}$. Examples of locally finite $\hat{\mathcal{H}}^{\sigma}$-, resp. $\mathcal{R}_{\mathbb Q}$- modules appear naturally as the cohomology, resp. K-theory, of framed moduli spaces of quivers.

Catalan numbers, parking functions, permutahedra and noncommutative Hilbert schemes

We find an explicit $S_n$-equivariant bijection between the integral points in a certain zonotope in $\mathbb{R}^n$, combinatorially equivalent to the permutahedron, and the set of $m$-parking functions of length $n$. This bijection restricts to a bijection between the regular $S_n$-orbits and $(m,n)$-Dyck paths, the number of which is given by the Fuss-Catalan number $A_{n}(m,1)$. Our motivation came from studying tilting bundles on noncommutative Hilbert schemes. As a side result we use these tilting bundles to construct a semi-orthogonal decomposition of the derived category of noncommutative Hilbert schemes.

Neron-Severi Lie algebra, autoequivalences of the derived category, and monodromy

Let X be a smooth complex projective variety. The group of autoequivalences of the derived category of X acts naturally on its singular cohomology H(X, Q) and we denote by Geq(X) the Zariski closure of its image in Gl(H(X, Q)). We study the relation of the Lie algebra LieGeq(X) and the Neron-Severi Lie algebra gNS(X) in case X has trivial canonical line bundle. At the same time for mirror symmetric families of (weakly) Calabi-Yau varieties we consider a conjecture of Kontsevich on the relation between the monodromy of one family and the group Geq(X) for a very general member X of the other family.

Regular subcategories in bounded derived categories of affine schemes

Let $R$ be a commutative Noetherian ring such that $X=Spec R$ is connected. We prove that the category $D^b(coh X)$ contains no proper full triangulated subcategories which are regular. We also bound from below the dimension of a regular category $T$, if there exists a triangulated functor $T \to D^b(coh X)$ with certain properties. Applications are given to cohomological annihilator of $R$ and to point-like objects in $T$.

Landau-Ginzburg Hodge numbers for mirrors of del Pezzo surfaces

We consider the conjectures from the paper by Katzarkov, Kontsevich, and Pantev about Landau-Ginzburg Hodge numbers associated to tamely compactifiable Landau-Ginzburg models. We test these conjectures in case of dimension two, verifying some and giving a counterexample to the other.

Irrationality of motivic zeta functions

Let $K_0(\mathrm{Var}_{\mathbb{Q}})[1/\mathbb{L}]$ denote the Grothendieck ring of $\mathbb{Q}$-varieties with the Lefschetz class inverted. We show that there exists a K3 surface X over $\mathbb{Q}$ such that the motivic zeta function $ζ_X(t) := \sum_n [\mathrm{Sym}^n X]t^n$ regarded as an element in $K_0(\mathrm{Var}_{\mathbb{Q}})[1/\mathbb{L}][[t]]$ is not a rational function in $t$, thus disproving a conjecture of Denef and Loeser.

Categorical measures for finite group actions

Given a variety with a finite group action, we compare its equivariant categorical measure, that is, the categorical measure of the corresponding quotient stack, and the categorical measure of the extended quotient. Using weak factorization for orbifolds, we show that for a wide range of cases, these two measures coincide. This implies, in particular, a conjecture of Galkin and Shinder on categorical and motivic zeta-functions of varieties. We provide examples showing that, in general, these two measures are not equal. We also give an example related to a conjecture of Polishchuk and Van den Bergh, showing that a certain condition in this conjecture is indeed necessary.

Mirror symmetry for abelian varieties

We work out the notion of mirror symmetry for abelian varieties and study its properties. Our construction are based on the correspondence between two $Q$--algebraic groups. One is the Hodge (or special Mumford--Tate) group. The second group $\bar{Spin(A)}$ is defined as follows: the group of autoequivalences of the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves acts on the total cohomology $H(A,Q)$ of an abelian variety $A$ via algebraic correspondences. The group $\bar{Spin(A)}$ is now the Zariski closure of its image in $GL(H(A,Q))$. Our constructions are compatible with the picture of mirror symmetry sketched by Kontsevich, Morrison, and others.

Toric varieties and minimal complexes

We translate the equivariant decomposition theorem (in the case of a proper morphism of toric varieties) in to the language of combinatorially defined ``shifted minimal complexes''.
