Set Valued Riemann-Liouville integral and some Regular Selections

In this article, we introduce the notion of the Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of set-valued mappings via integrable selections. We establish fundamental properties of this fractional integral, including convexity, boundedness, and continuity with respect to the Hausdorff metric. The investigation of preservation of regularity under fractional integration with respect to the Hausdorff metric is given. We show that bounded variation and Lipschitz continuity of a set-valued mapping are inherited by its Riemann-Liouville fractional integral. We discuss the existence of regular selections for the fractional integral under the corresponding regularity assumptions on the original mapping. In the scalar case, we further identify extremal selections given by the pointwise minimum and maximum of the fractional integral and show that they possess the same regularity properties. Finally, we discuss possible applications in differential inclusion and directions for future research.

BIGBOY1.2: Generating Realistic Synthetic Data for Disease Outbreak Modelling and Analytics

Modelling disease outbreak models remains challenging due to incomplete surveillance data, noise, and limited access to standardized datasets. We have created BIGBOY1.2, an open synthetic dataset generator that creates configurable epidemic time series and population-level trajectories suitable for benchmarking modelling, forecasting, and visualisation. The framework supports SEIR and SIR-like compartmental logic, custom seasonality, and noise injection to mimic real reporting artifacts. BIGBOY1.2 can produce datasets with diverse characteristics, making it suitable for comparing traditional epidemiological models (e.g., SIR, SEIR) with modern machine learning approaches (e.g., SVM, neural networks).

Construction of Fractal Functions Using Kannan Mappings and Smoothness Analysis

Let T be a self-map on a metric space (X, d). Then T is called the Kannan map if there exists \alpha, 0 < \alpha < 1/2, such that d(T(x), T(y)) <= \alpha[d(x, T(x)) + d(y, T(y))], for all x, y in X. This paper aims to introduce a new method to construct fractal functions using Kannan mappings. First, we give the rigorous construction of fractal functions with the help of the Kannan iterated function system (IFS). We also show the existence of a Borel probability measure supported on the attractor of the Kannan IFS satisfying the strong separation condition. Moreover, we study the smoothness of the constructed fractal functions. We end the paper with some examples and graphical illustrations.

Analysis of Fractal Dimension of Mixed Riemann-Liouville Fractional Integral

In this article, we investigate the fractal dimension of the graph of the mixed Riemann-Liouville fractional integral for various choice of continuous functions on a rectangular region. We estimate bounds for the box dimension and the Hausdorff dimension of the graph of the mixed Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of the functions which belong to the class of continuous functions and the class of Holder continuous functions. We also show that the box dimension of the graph of the mixed Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of two-dimensional continuous functions is also two. Furthermore, we give construction of unbounded variational continuous functions. Later, we prove that the box dimension and the Hausdorff dimension of the graph of the mixed Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of unbounded variational continuous functions are also two.

Box Dimension of Mixed Katugampola Fractional Integral of Two-Dimensional Continuous Functions

The goal of this article is to study the box dimension of the mixed Katugampola fractional integral of two-dimensional continuous functions on [0; 1]X[0; 1]. We prove that the box dimension of the mixed Katugampola fractional integral having fractional order (\alpha = (\alpha_1; \alpha_2); \alpha_1 > 0; \alpha_2 > 0) of two-dimensional continuous functions on [0; 1]X[0; 1] is still two. Moreover, the results are also established for the mixed Hadamard fractional integral.

Optimal Birth Control for a Size-Structured Population Model with Diffusion

This work addresses the optimal birth control problem for invasive species in a spatial environment. We apply the method of semigroups to qualitatively analyze a size-structured population model in which individuals occupy a position in a spatial environment. With insect population in mind, we study the optimal control problem which takes fertility rate as a control variable. With the help of adjoint system, we derive optimality conditions. We obtain the optimality conditions by fixing the birth rate on three different sets. Using Ekeland's variational principle, the existence, and uniqueness of optimal birth controller to the given population model which minimizes a given cost functional is shown. Outcomes of our article are new and complement the existing ones.

Analysis of steady state solutions to an age structured SEQIR model with optimal vaccination

Quarantine of those individuals who are suspected of being infected is one of the intervention measures to contain the spread of an infectious disease. We propose an age structured SEQIR (S-Susceptible, E-Exposed, Q-Quarantine, I-Infected, R-Recovered) model with vaccination of susceptible and exposed individuals. Firstly without vaccination, basic reproduction number is derived by using the appearance of endemic steady state. With an appropriate Liapunov function, stability of disease free equilibrium point is checked. Vaccinating a population with reduction in number of infected individuals at minimal cost is considered as an optimization problem. We show that the vaccination strategy is concentrated on atmost three age classes.

Age structured SIR model for the spread of infectious diseases through indirect contacts

In this article, we discuss an age-structured SIR model in which disease not only spread through direct person to person contacts for e.g. infection due to surface contamination but it can also spread through indirect contacts. It is evident that age also plays a crucial role in SARS virus infection including COVID-19 infection. We formulate our model as an abstract semilinear Cauchy problem in an appropriate Banach space to show the existence of solution and also show the existence of steady states. It is assumed in this work that the population is in a demographic stationary state and show that there is no disease-free equilibrium point as long as there is a transmission of infection due to the indirect contacts in the environment.

Effect of population migration and punctuated lockdown on the spread of infectious diseases

One of the critical measures to control infectious diseases is a lockdown. Once past the lockdown stage in many parts of the world, the crucial question now concerns the effects of relaxing the lockdown and finding the best ways to implement further lockdown(s), if required, to control the spread. With the relaxation of lockdown, people migrate to different cities and enhance the spread of the disease. This work presents the population migration model for n-cities and applies the model for migration between two and three cities. The reproduction number is calculated, and the effect of the migration rate is analyzed. A punctuated lockdown is implemented to simulate a protocol of repeated lockdowns that limits the resurgence of infections. A damped oscillatory behavior is observed with multiple peaks over a period.

Immunomodulatory role of black tea in the mitigation of cancer induced by inorganic arsenic

We present a model analysis of the tumor and normal cell growth under the influence of a carcinogenic agent, an immunomdulator (IM) and variable influx of immune cells including relevant interactions. The tumor growth is facilitated by carcinogens such as inorganic arsenic while the IM considered here is black tea (Camellia sinesnsis). The model with variable influx of immune cells is observed to have considerable advantage over the constant influx model, and while the tumor cell population is greatly mitigated, normal cell population remains above healthy levels. The evolution of normal and tumor cells are computed from the proposed model and their local stabilities are investigated analytically. Numerical simulations are performed to study the long term dynamics and an estimation of the effects of various factors is made. This helps in developing a balanced strategy for tumor mitigation without the use of chemotherapeutic drugs that usually have strong side-effects.

The Calculus Of Bivariate Fractal Interpolation Surfaces

In this article, we investigate partial integrals and partial derivatives of bivariate fractal interpolation functions. We prove also that the mixed Riemann-Liouville fractional integral and derivative of order $\gamma = (p, q); p > 0,q > 0$, of bivariate fractal interpolation functions are again bivariate interpolation functions corresponding to some iterated function system (IFS). Furthermore, we discuss the integral transforms and fractional order integral transforms of the bivariate fractal interpolation functions.

Cell damage and mitigation in Swiss albino mice: experiment and modelling

Chronic exposure to inorganic arsenic is a potential cause of carcinogenesis. It elicits its potential by generation of ROS, leading to DNA, protein and lipid damage. Therefore, the deleterious effect of arsenic can be mitigated by quenching ROS using antioxidants. There is a homology between the protein coding regions of mice and human. Effect of these alterations in human can be mimicked in mice. Therefore to understand the underlying mechanism of arsenic toxicity and its amelioration by black tea, studies have been conducted in mice model. Long term exposure to iAs leads to tumour growth, which has been found to be alleviated by black tea. Observations reveal that black tea has two salutary effects on the growth of tumour: the rate of growth of damaged cells was appreciably reduced and an early saturation of the level of damage is achieved. To take the experimental findings further, the experimental data have been modelled with simple dynamical equations. The curves obtained from \textit{in vivo} studies have been fitted with the data obtained from the model. The corresponding steady states and their stabilities are analyzed.

On Enumerating Distributions for Associated Vectors in the Entropy Space

This paper focuses on the problem of finding a distribution for an associated entropic vector in the entropy space nearest to a given, possibly non-entropic, target vector for random variables with a constraint on alphabet size. We show the feasibility to find distribution for associated vector via a sequence of perturbations in the probability mass function. Then we present an algorithm for numerically solving the problem together with extensions, applications, and comparison with the known results.

Qualitative analysis of dynamic equations on time scales

In this article, we establish the Picard-Lindelof theorem and approximating results for dynamic equations on time scale. We present a simple proof for the existence and uniqueness of the solution. The proof is produced by using convergence and Weierstrass M-test. Furthermore, we show that the Lispchitz condition is not necessary for uniqueness. The existence of epsilon-approximate solution is established under suitable assumptions. Moreover, we study the approximate solution of the dynamic equation with delay by studying the solution of the corresponding dynamic equation with piecewise constant argument. We show that the exponential stability is preserved in such approximations.

Upper Bounds on the Capacity of 2-Layer $N$-Relay Symmetric Gaussian Network

The Gaussian parallel relay network, in which two parallel relays assist a source to convey information to a destination, was introduced by Schein and Gallager. An upper bound on the capacity can be obtained by considering broadcast cut between the source and relays and multiple access cut between relays and the destination. Niesen and Diggavi derived an upper bound for Gaussian parallel $N$-relay network by considering all other possible cuts and showed an achievability scheme that can attain rates close to the upper bound in different channel gain regimes thus establishing approximate capacity. In this paper we consider symmetric layered Gaussian relay networks in which there can be many layers of parallel relays. The channel gains for the channels between two adjacent layers are symmetrical (identical). Relays in each layer broadcast information to the relays in the next layer. For 2-layer $N$-relay Gaussian network we give upper bounds on the capacity. Our analysis reveals that for the upper bounds, joint optimization over correlation coefficients is not necessary for obtaining stronger results.

Approximate controllability and optimal control of impulsive fractional semilinear delay differential equations with non-local conditions

In this paper we study the approximate controllability and existence of optimal control of impulsive fractional semilinear delay differential equations with non-local conditions. We use Sadovskii's fixed point theorem, semigroup theory of linear operators and direct method for minimizing a functional to establish our results. At the end we give an example to illustrate our analytical findings.

A general maximum principle for mean-field stochastic differential equations with jump processes

In this paper, we investigate the optimal control problems for stochastic differential equations (SDEs in short) of mean-field type with jump processes. The control variable is allowed to enter into both diffusion and jump terms. This stochastic maximum principle differs from the classical one in the sense that here the first-order adjoint equation turns out to be a linear mean-field backward SDE with jumps, while the second-order adjoint equation remains the same as in Tang and Li's stochastic maximum principle [32]. Finally, for the reader's convenience we give some analysis results used in this paper in the Appendix.
