Quantum fluctuation energies over a spatially inhomogeneous field background in a chiral soliton model

Based on chiral soliton models, the quantum fluctuation energies of quarks over a spatially inhomogeneous meson field background have been thoroughly studied. We have used a systematic calculation scheme initiated by Schwinger, in which the loop quantum fluctuation energies are evaluated by a nontrivial level summation over the eigenvalue spectrum of the effective Hamiltonian of the system. The effective Hamiltonian can be constructed by one loop effective action of fluctuations of quarks over a static chiral soliton field background. The corresponding Dirac equation is obtained. In a static and spatially spherical case and by the hedgehog ansatz the radial part and the angular part of the grand spin of the wave function for the Dirac equation can be separated. Due to the soliton background the eigenvalue spectrum are distorted. The scattering phase shift can be determined by solve the radial equations at different momentum. The density of states in momentum space can be derived. The effective Hamiltonian has been diagonalized in a Hilbert space where the eigenfunctions are labeled by the parity, grand spin and energy. The renormalization scheme can be carried out by a Born subtraction of the phase shift and the compensating Feynman diagram renormalization. Finally the finite quantum fluctuation energies over chiral soliton background at different parities and grand spins have been numerically evaluated, compared and discussed.

The nucleon properties in finite temperature and density with vector meson

We introduce the vector meson $\omega$ into the Quark Meson model, and study the impact of vector interactions on the properties of static hadrons using the mean-field approximation. The short-range repulsive force associated with vector interactions leads to an expansion of the root mean square radius of nucleons. While the mass of hadrons increases, the gap between this mass and the energy of the three free constituent quarks decreases, resulting in the instability of hadrons. Our study of nucleon mass and radius at finite temperature and density has potential applications for particle yield in heavy ion collisions and the mass-radius relationship in compact stars.

The nucleon properties in finite temperature and density with Gaussian fluctuations

We investigate the properties of nucleons at finite temperature and density using a two-flavor quark meson model with Gaussian fluctuations that extend beyond the mean-field approximation. Our findings suggest that Gaussian fluctuations lead to a non-monotonic behavior of the nucleon mass as a function of temperature and density, which may play an important role in the study of the hadronization process of relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Moreover, we observe an increase in the nucleon radius due to Gaussian fluctuations, suggesting an effective repulsive force akin to the Casimir effect, as observed in the gold-bromobenzene-silica system. This study offers new insights into how temperature, density, and quantum fluctuations affect the structure and properties of nucleons under extreme conditions.

Quantum fluctuation in an inhomogeneous background and its influence on the phase transition in a finite volume system

We have studied the grand potential and phase transitions of an inhomogeneous finite volume spherical quark system. First the finite volume effects are considered by applying the multiple reflection expansion method which is an approximation for the density of states of the momentum in the grand potential of the finite size system. Then, the density of states of momentum is further modified by the thermal fluctuations in the thermal system with the inhomogeneous field background. The modification of the density of states is calculated by the scattering phase shift from the Dirac equation of quarks in the inhomogeneous field background. By the numerical calculation we show how the phase transition is changed by varying the configuration of the inhomogeneous field background and find that the strong first order phase transition could be weakened or even changed to a crossover as a result.

Vacuum and thermal fluctuation energies of a soliton at finite temperatures

We have studied the vacuum and thermal fluctuation energies of a soliton at finite temperatures. First the vacuum energy coming from the Dirac sea is calculated by a summation of the discrete and continuum energy spectrum of the Dirac equation in the background field of a soliton. And all the divergences are removed by the same renormalization scheme at zero temperature. Then the vacuum energy and thermal fluctuation energy at finite temperatures in a temperature dependent soliton background are calculated. And the numerical results are analyzed and discussed.

Bubble dynamics in a strong first-order quark-hadron transition

We investigate the dynamics of a strong first-order quark-hadron transition driven by cubic interaction via homogeneous bubble nucleation in the Friedberg-Lee model. The one-loop effective thermodynamics potential of the model and the critical bubble profiles have been calculated at different temperatures and chemical potentials. By taking the temperature and the chemical potential as the variables, the evolutions of the surface tension, the typical radius of the critical bubble and the shift in the coarse-grained free energy in the presence of a nucleation bubble are obtained and the limit on the reliability of the thin-wall approximation is also addressed accordingly. Our results are compared to those obtained for a weak first-order quark-hadron phase transition, especially the spinodal decomposition is relevant.

A practical method in calculating one loop quantum fluctuations to the energy of the non-topological soliton

I have used a practical method to calculate the one-loop quantum correction to the energy of the non-topological soliton in Friedberg-Lee model. The quantum effects which come from the quarks of the Dirac sea scattering with the soliton bag are calculated by a summation of the discrete and continuum energy spectrum of the Dirac equation in the background field of soliton. The phase shift of the continuum spectrum is numerically calculated in an efficient way and all the divergences are removed by the same renormalization procedure.

Mean-field approximation for the chiral soliton in a chiral phase transition

In the mean-field approximation we study the chiral soliton within the linear sigma model in a thermal vacuum. The chiral soliton equations with different boundary conditions are solved at finite temperatures and densities. The solitons are discussed before and after the chiral restoration. We find that the system has soliton solutions even after the chiral restoration and they are very different from those before the chiral restoration, which indicates that the quarks are still bounded after the chiral restoration.

The baryon mass calculation in the chiral soliton model at finite temperature and density

In the mean-field approximation, we have studied the soliton which is embedded in a thermal medium within the chiral soliton model. The energy of the soliton or the baryon mass in the thermal medium has been carefully evaluated, in which we emphasize that the thermal effective potential in the soliton energy should be properly treated in order to derive a finite and well-defined baryon mass out of the thermal background. The result of the baryon mass at finite temperatures and densities in chiral soliton model are clearly presented.

Studying the baryon properties through chiral soliton model at finite temperature and denstity

We have studied the chiral soliton model in a thermal vacuum. The soliton equations are solved at finite temperature and density. The temperature or density dependent soliton solutions are presented. The physical properties of baryons are derived from the soliton solutions at finite temperature and density. The temperature or density dependent variation of the baryon properties are discussed.

The vacuum tunnelling and the crossover of deconfinement in Friedberg-Lee model

We have discussed the vacuum tunnelling in Friedberg-Lee model. The tunnelling coefficient is derived in the field configuration space by calculating the transition amplitude using the path integral under the stationary phase approximation and the dilute instanton gas approximation. By studying the tunnelling effect between the two degenerating vacuums at the critical temperature and chemical potential, we find that the system could be deconfined by tunnelling, which could possibly change the first order deconfinement phase transition to crossover.

Expanding the thermodynamical potential and the analysis of the possible phase diagram of deconfinement in FL model

The deconfinement phase transition is studied in the FL model at finite temperature and chemical potential. At MFT approximation, the phase transition can only be the first order in the whole $μ-T$ phase plane. By a Landau expansion we further study the phase transition order and the possible phase diagram of deconfinement. We discuss the possibilities of second order phase transitions in FL model. By our analysis the cubic term in the Landau expansion could be cancelled by the high order fluctuations. By an ansatz of the Landau parameters, we obtain the possible phase diagram with both first and second order phase transition including the tricritical point which is similar to that of the chiral phase transition.

To understand sQGP through non-topological FL model

The non-topological FL model is studied at finite temperature and density. The soliton solutions of the FL model in deconfinement phase transition are solved and thoroughly discussed for different boundary conditions. We indicate that the solitons before and after the deconfinement have different physical meanings: the soliton before deconfinement represents hadron, while the soliton after the deconfinement represents the bound state of quarks which leads to a sQGP phase. The corresponding phase diagram is given.

Bose-Einstein condensation in linear sigma model at Hartree and large N approximation

The BEC of charged pions is investigated in the framework of O(4) linear sigma model. By using Cornwall-Jackiw-Tomboulis formalism, we have derived the gap equations for the effective masses of the mesons at finite temperature and finite isospin density. The BEC is discussed in chiral limit and non-chiral limit at Hartree approximation and also at large N approximation.

The CJT calculation in studying nuclear matter beyond mean field approximation

We have introduced a CJT calculation in studying nuclear matter beyond mean field approximation. Based on the CJT formalism and using Walecka model, we have derived a set of coupled Dyson equations of nucleons and mesons. Neglecting the medium effects of the mesons, the usual MFT results could be reproduced. The beyond MFT calculations have been performed by thermodynamic consistently determining the meson effective masses and solving the coupled gap equations for nucleons and mesons. The numerical results for the nucleon and meson effective masses at finite temperature and chemical potential in nuclear matter are discussed.

The linear sigma model at a finite isospin chemical potential

The effect of finite isospin chemical potential to the effective masses of the mesons at finite temperature is investigated in the framework of the O(4) linear sigma model with explicit chiral symmetry breaking. We present a mechanism to include the isospin chemical potential in the model. By using the Cornwall-Jackiw-Tomboulis method of composite operators, we obtain a set gap equations for the effective masses of the mesons and get the numerical results in the Hartree approximation. We find that the introduction of the chemical potential only affects the mass of the charged pions and sigma, while there is almost NO effects on the mass of neutral pions.

Thermodynamical consistent CJT calculation in studying nuclear matter

We have attempted to apply the CJT formalism to study the nuclear matter. The thermodynamic potential is calculated in Hartree-Fock approximation in the CJT formalism. After neglecting the medium effects to the mesons, the numerical results are found very consistent with those obtained from the mean field calculation. In our calculation the thermodynamical consistency is also preserved.

Bose-Einstein condensation and chiral phase transition in linear sigma model

With the linear sigma model, we have studied Bose-Einstein condensation and the chiral phase transition in the chiral limit for an interacting pion system. A $μ-T$ phase diagram including these two phenomena is presented. It is found that the phase plane has been divided into three areas: the Bose-Einstein condensation area, the chiral symmetry broken phase area and the chiral symmetry restored phase area. Bose-Einstein condensation can happen either from the chiral symmetry broken phase or from the restored phase. We show that the onset of the chiral phase transition is restricted in the area where there is no Bose-Einstein condensation.
