Confident Learning for Object Detection under Model Constraints

Agricultural weed detection on edge devices is subject to strict constraints on model capacity, computational resources, and real-time inference latency, which prevent performance improvements through model scaling or ensembling. This paper proposes Model-Driven Data Correction (MDDC), a data-centric framework that enhances detection performance by iteratively diagnosing and correcting data quality deficiencies. An automated error analysis procedure categorizes detection failures into four types: false negatives, false positives, class confusion, and localization errors. These error patterns are systematically addressed through a structured train-fix-retrain pipeline with version-controlled data management. Experimental results on multiple weed detection datasets demonstrate consistent improvements of 5-25 percent in mAP at 0.5 using a fixed lightweight detector (YOLOv8n), indicating that systematic data quality optimization can effectively alleviate performance bottlenecks under fixed model capacity constraints.

Efficient and Scalable Chinese Vector Font Generation via Component Composition

Chinese vector font generation is challenging due to the complex structure and huge amount of Chinese characters. Recent advances remain limited to generating a small set of characters with simple structure. In this work, we first observe that most Chinese characters can be disassembled into frequently-reused components. Therefore, we introduce the first efficient and scalable Chinese vector font generation approach via component composition, allowing generating numerous vector characters from a small set of components. To achieve this, we collect a large-scale dataset that contains over \textit{90K} Chinese characters with their components and layout information. Upon the dataset, we propose a simple yet effective framework based on spatial transformer networks (STN) and multiple losses tailored to font characteristics to learn the affine transformation of the components, which can be directly applied to the B\'ezier curves, resulting in Chinese characters in vector format. Our qualitative and quantitative experiments have demonstrated that our method significantly surpasses the state-of-the-art vector font generation methods in generating large-scale complex Chinese characters in both font generation and zero-shot font extension.

Resistive memory-based zero-shot liquid state machine for multimodal event data learning

The human brain is a complex spiking neural network (SNN), capable of learning multimodal signals in a zero-shot manner by generalizing existing knowledge. Remarkably, it maintains minimal power consumption through event-based signal propagation. However, replicating the human brain in neuromorphic hardware presents both hardware and software challenges. Hardware limitations, such as the slowdown of Moore's law and Von Neumann bottleneck, hinder the efficiency of digital computers. Additionally, SNNs are characterized by their software training complexities. To this end, we propose a hardware-software co-design on a 40 nm 256 Kb in-memory computing macro that physically integrates a fixed and random liquid state machine (LSM) SNN encoder with trainable artificial neural network (ANN) projections. We showcase the zero-shot LSM-based learning of multimodal events on the N-MNIST and N-TIDIGITS datasets, including visual and audio data association, as well as neural and visual data alignment for brain-machine interfaces. Our co-design achieves classification accuracy comparable to fully optimized software models, resulting in a 152.83 and 393.07-fold reduction in training costs compared to SOTA contrastive language-image pre-training (CLIP) and Prototypical networks, and a 23.34 and 160-fold improvement in energy efficiency compared to cutting-edge digital hardware, respectively. These proof-of-principle prototypes demonstrate zero-shot multimodal events learning capability for emerging efficient and compact neuromorphic hardware.

PATE: Property, Amenities, Traffic and Emotions Coming Together for Real Estate Price Prediction

Real estate prices have a significant impact on individuals, families, businesses, and governments. The general objective of real estate price prediction is to identify and exploit socioeconomic patterns arising from real estate transactions over multiple aspects, ranging from the property itself to other contributing factors. However, price prediction is a challenging multidimensional problem that involves estimating many characteristics beyond the property itself. In this paper, we use multiple sources of data to evaluate the economic contribution of different socioeconomic characteristics such as surrounding amenities, traffic conditions and social emotions. Our experiments were conducted on 28,550 houses in Beijing, China and we rank each characteristic by its importance. Since the use of multi-source information improves the accuracy of predictions, the aforementioned characteristics can be an invaluable resource to assess the economic and social value of real estate. H4M: Heterogeneous, Multi-source, Multi-modal, Multi-view and Multi-distributional Dataset for Socioeconomic Analytics in the Case of Beijing

The study of socioeconomic status has been reformed by the availability of digital records containing data on real estate, points of interest, traffic and social media trends such as micro-blogging. In this paper, we describe a heterogeneous, multi-source, multi-modal, multi-view and multi-distributional dataset named "H4M". The mixed dataset contains data on real estate transactions, points of interest, traffic patterns and micro-blogging trends from Beijing, China. The unique composition of H4M makes it an ideal test bed for methodologies and approaches aimed at studying and solving problems related to real estate, traffic, urban mobility planning, social sentiment analysis etc. The dataset is available at: https://indigopurple.github.io/H4M/index.html

Vanishing of Multiple Zeta Values over $\mathbb{F}_q[t]$ at Negative Integers

Let $\mathbb{F}_q$ be the finite field of $q$ elements. In this paper, we study the vanishing behavior of multizeta values over $\mathbb{F}_q[t]$ at negative integers. These values are analogs of the classical multizeta values. At negative integers, they are series of products of power sums $S_d(k)$ which are polynomials in $t$. By studying the $t$-valuation of $S_d(s)$ for $s < 0$, we show that multizeta values at negative integers vanish only at trivial zeros. The proof is inspired by the idea of Sheats in the proof of a statement of "greedy element" by Carlitz.

Function Fields of Class Number One

In 1975, [LMQ] listed 7 function felds over fnite felds (up to isomorphism) with positive genus and class number (i.e., the size of the divisor class group of degree zero) one and claimed to prove that these were the only ones such. In [S1], Claude Strirpe found 8th one! In this paper, we fix the argument in [LMQ] to show that this 8th example could have been found by [LMQ] method and is the only one, so that the list is now complete.
