Quantum Interference Transport in two-dimensional Semi-Dirac Semimetals

Semi-Dirac semimetals have received enthusiastic research both theoretically and experimentally in the recent years. Due to the anisotropic dispersion, its physical properties are highly direction-dependent. In this work we employ the Feynman diagrammatic perturbation theory to study the transport properties in quantum diffusive regime. The magneto-conductivity with quantum interference corrections is derived, which demonstrate the weak localization effect in the semi-Dirac semimetal. Furthermore, the origin of anomalous Hall conductivity is also clarified, where both the intrinsic and side-jump contributions vanish and only the skew-scattering gives rise to non-zero transverse conductivity. The conductance fluctuations in both mesoscopic and quantum diffusive regimes are investigated in detail. Our work provides theoretical predictions for transport experiments, which can be examined by conductivity measurements at sufficiently low temperature.

Holographic DC Conductivity for Backreacted NLED in Massive Gravity

In this work a holographic model with the charge current dual to a general nonlinear electrodynamics (NLED) is discussed in the framework of massive gravity. Massive graviton can breaks the diffeomorphism invariance in the bulk and generates momentum dissipation in the dual boundary theory. The expression of DC conductivities in a finite magnetic field are obtained, with the backreaction of NLED field on the background geometry. General transport properties in various limits are presented, and then we turn to the three of specific NLED models: the conventional Maxwell electrodynamics, the Maxwell-Chern-Simons electrodynamics, and the Born-Infeld electrodynamics, to study the parameter-dependence of in-plane resistivity. Two mechanisms leading to the Mott-insulating behaviors and negative magneto-resistivity are revealed at zero temperature, and the role played by the massive gravity coupling parameters are discussed.

Ring-Frustrated Non-Hermitian $XY$ Model

We study a non-Hermitian version of XY closed chain with odd number of lattice sites. We consider both anti-ferromagnetic coupling and also a symmetric non-collinear spin coupling. It is found that the energy spectrum is real in certain region of the parameter space. In contrast to previous non-Hermitian models, the ground state is a state with one mode occupied inside this real energy spectrum region, instead of the artificially identified vacuum state. At the same time, there appears a gapless excitation, which is made by kink like spin configurations. It is also found that this kink phase has non-trivial topological invariant.

Exact Solution to Sodium-Iridate-BCS-Hubbard Model along the Symmetric Line: Non-trivial topology in the ferromagnetic order

We study the sodium-iridates model on the honeycomb lattice with both BCS pairing potential and Hubbard interaction term. It is shown that this model can be exactly solved with appropriate choices of amplitude of pairing gaps, where the interacting terms are transformed to external field terms. The band structures of these exact solutions on both torus and cylinder geometry are discussed in great details. It is found that the ground state assumes an anti-ferromagnetic configuration, which breaks the time reversal symmetry spontaneously and renders the superconductor topologically trivial. On the other hand, the nontrivial topology is preserved with ferromagnetic configuration and can be characterized by the isospin Chern number.

Joule-Thomson Expansion of Born-Infeld AdS Black Holes

In this paper, the Joule-Thomson expansion of Born-Infeld AdS black holes is studied in the extended phase space, where the cosmological constant is identified with the pressure. The Joule-Thomson coefficient, the inversion curves and the isenthalpic curves are discussed in detail by 4-dimensional black hole. The critical point of Born-Infeld black hole is depicted with varying parameter $\beta$ and the charge $Q$. In $T-P$ plane, the inversion temperature curves and isenthalpic curves are obtained with different parameter $\beta$ and the charge $Q$. We find that the missing negative slope is still conserved in Born-Infeld black holes. We also extend our discussion to arbitrary dimension higher than 4. The critical temperature and the minimum of inversion temperature are compared, and the ratio is asymptotically $1/2$ as $Q$ increases or $\beta\to\infty$ in $D=4$, and reproduce the previous results in higher dimension.
