Regularity of Second-Order Elliptic PDEs in Spectral Barron Spaces

We establish a regularity theorem for second-order elliptic PDEs on $\mathbb{R}^{d}$ in spectral Barron spaces. Under mild ellipticity and smallness assumptions, the solution gains two additional orders of Barron regularity. As a corollary, we identify a class of PDEs whose solutions can be approximated by two-layer neural networks with cosine activation functions, where the width of the neural network is independent of the spatial dimension.

Quantitativity on the number of rational points in the Mordell conjecture

In this paper, we prove an explicit upper bound on the number of rational points on a smooth projective curve of genus at least two over a number field. This gives explicit constants in the uniform Mordell conjecture proposed by Mazur and proved by Vojta, Dimitrov-Gao-Habegger, and K\"uhne. The main body of this paper consists of two parts: Part I for arithmetic estimates and Part II for analytic estimates.

A family of $4$-manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature and prescribed asymptotic cone

In this paper, we show that for any finite subgroup $\Gamma < O(4)$ acting freely on $\mathbb{S}^3$, there exists a $4$-dimensional complete Riemannian manifold $(M,g)$ with ${\rm Ric}_g \geq 0 $, such that the asymptotic cone of $(M,g)$ is $C(\mathbb{S}_\delta^3 /\Gamma )$ for some $\delta = \delta (\Gamma ) >0$. This answers a question of Bru\`e-Pigati-Semola [arXiv:2405.03839] about the topological obstructions of $4$-dimensional non-collapsed tangent cones. Combining this result with a recent work of Bru\`e-Pigati-Semola [arXiv:2405.03839], one can classify the $4$-dimensional non-collapsed tangent cone in the topological sense.

New exotic examples of Ricci limit spaces

For any integers $m\geqslant n\geqslant 3$, we construct a Ricci limit space $X_{m,n}$ such that for a fixed point, some tangent cones are $\mathbb{R}^m$ and some are $\mathbb{R}^n$. This is an improvement of Menguy's example. Moreover, we show that for any finite collection of closed Riemannian manifolds $(M_i^{n_i},g_i)$ with $\mathrm{Ric}_{g_i}\geqslant(n_i-1)\geqslant 1$, there exists a collapsed Ricci limit space $(X,d,x)$ such that each Riemannian cone $C(M_i,g_i)$ is a tangent cone of $X$ at $x$.

On the $L^2$ volume of Bergman spaces

In this paper, we show that the Calabi volume and Mabuchi volume of Bergman spaces on the product of a projective manifold and a projective space is infinite. Our result is inspired by a conjecture of Shiffman-Zelditch in [arXiv:2303.11559].

Examples of Ricci limit spaces with infinite holes

Let $n\geq 3$, $\lambda \in \mathbb{R} $, and $(X,h)$ be an $n$-dimensional smooth complete Riemannian manifold with ${\rm Ric}_h > \lambda $. In this paper, we construct, for each given $\epsilon >0$, a sequence of $(n+2)$-dimensional manifolds $(M_{i} ,g_i ) \stackrel{GH}{\longrightarrow} (X_\epsilon ,d_\epsilon ) $ with ${\rm Ric}_{g_i} > \lambda $, such that $d_{GH} (X,X_\epsilon ) \leq \epsilon $, and $X_\epsilon $ is homeomorphic to the space obtained by removing an infinite number of balls from $X$. Hence $X_\epsilon $ has dense boundary with an infinite number of connected components. Moreover, $X_\epsilon $ has no open subset which is topologically a manifold. This generalizes Hupp-Naber-Wang's result (arxiv: 2308.03909) from $4$-dimensional case to the general case of dimension $n\geq 3$. Our construction differs from that of Hupp-Naber-Wang. In their approach, Hupp-Naber-Wang considered doing an infinite number of blow-ups on the local complex surface structure of $X$, thus relying on the $4$-dimensional condition. However, our method involves removing an infinite number of balls from $X$, allowing us to construct in the general case of dimensions greater than or equal to $3$. As a corollary, we provide a solution to an open problem posed by Naber in the $3$-dimensional case.

On the Gromov-Hausdorff limits of Tori with Ricci conditions

Let $n\geq 4$. In this paper, we construct a sequence of smooth Riemannian metrics $g_i $ on $\mathbb{R}^n$ such that: (1) $g_i = g_{\rm Euc} $ outside the standard Euclidean unit ball $B_1 (0) \subset \mathbb{R}^n $, (2) ${\rm Ric}_{g_i} \geq -\Lambda $ and $ {\rm diam} \left( B_1 (0) ,g_i \right) \leq D $ for some $\Lambda ,D>0$ independent of $i$, (3) The pointed Gromov-Hausdorff limit of $(\mathbb{R}^n ,g_i) $ is a topological orbifold but not a topological manifold. As a consequence, for $n\geq 4$, we can find a sequence of tori $(T^n , g_i )$ with Ricci lower bound and diameter bound such that the Gromov-Hausdorff limit is not a topological manifold. This answers a question of Bru\`e-Naber-Semola [arXiv:2307.03824] in the negative. In $4$-dimensional case, we prove that the Gromov-Hausdorff limit of tori with $2$-side Ricci bound and diameter bound is always a topological torus. In the K\"ahler case, the Gromov-Hausdorff limit of K\"ahler tori of real dimension $4$ with Ricci lower bound is always a topological orbifold with isolated singularities, and the only type of singularities is $\mathbb{R}^4 / Q_8 $.

Bergman kernels on degenerations

We introduce the fiberwise Bergman kernel for a flat family of polarized varieties over a Riemann surface, which extends the classical Bergman kernel defined on the reduced fibers. We establish the continuity of the fiberwise Bergman kernel and provide a result on uniform convergence for the Fubini-Study currents. As a consequence, we show that the fiberwise Bergman kernel on test configurations exhibits continuity, and the Fubini-Study currents converge uniformly.

Peak sections and Bergman kernels on K\"ahler manifolds with complex hyperbolic cusps

By revisiting Tian's peak section method, we obtain a localization principle of the Bergman kernels on K\"ahler manifolds with complex hyperbolic cusps, which is a generalization of Auvray-Ma-Marinescu's localization result Bergman kernels on punctured Riemann surfaces [Auvray-Ma-Marinescu, Math. Ann., 2021]. Then we give some further estimates when the metric on the complex hyperbolic cusp is a K\"ahler-Einstein metric or when the manifold is a quotient of the complex ball. By applying our method directly to Poincar\'e type cusps, we also get a partial localization result.

A Regularity Theory for Static Schr\"odinger Equations on $\mathbb{R}^d$ in Spectral Barron Spaces

Spectral Barron spaces have received considerable interest recently as it is the natural function space for approximation theory of two-layer neural networks with a dimension-free convergence rate. In this paper we study the regularity of solutions to the whole-space static Schr\"odinger equation in spectral Barron spaces. We prove that if the source of the equation lies in the spectral Barron space $\mathcal{B}^s(\mathbb{R}^d)$ and the potential function admitting a non-negative lower bound decomposes as a positive constant plus a function in $\mathcal{B}^s(\mathbb{R}^d)$, then the solution lies in the spectral Barron space $\mathcal{B}^{s+2}(\mathbb{R}^d)$.

The asymptotic behaviour of Bergman kernels

Let $( X ,d ,p ) $ be the pointed Gromov-Hausdorff limit of a sequence of pointed complete polarized K\"ahler manifolds $( M_l ,\omega_l ,\mathcal{L}_l ,h_l ,p_l ) $ with $Ric ( h_l ) =2\pi \omega_l $, $Ric ( \omega_l ) \geq -\Lambda \omega_l $ and $Vol \big( B_1 ( p_l ) \big) \geq v $, $\forall l\in\mathbb{N} $, where $\Lambda ,v>0$ are constants. Then $X$ is a normal complex space [Liu-Sz\'ekelyhidi, 2022, GAFA]. In this paper, we discuss the convergence of the Hermitian line bundles $( \mathcal{L}_l ,h_l )$ and the Bergman kernels. In particular, we show that the K\"ahler forms $\omega_l $ converge to a unique closed positive current $\omega_X $ on $X_{reg}$. By establishing a version of $L^2$ estimate on the limit line bundle on $X$, we give a convergence result of Fubini-Study currents on $X$. Then we prove that the convergence of Bergman kernels implies a uniform $L^p$ asymptotic expansion of Bergman kernel on the collection of $n$-dimensional polarized K\"ahler manifolds $(M,\omega ,\mathcal{L},h)$ with Ricci lower bound $-\Lambda$ and non-collapsing condition $Vol \big( B_1 (x) \big) \geq v >0 $. Under the additional orthogonal bisectional curvature lower bound, we will also give a uniform $C^0$ asymptotic estimate of Bergman kernel for all sufficiently large $m$, which improves a theorem of Jiang [Jiang, 2016, crelle]. By calculating the Bergman kernels on orbifolds, we disprove a conjecture of Donaldson-Sun in [Donaldson-Sun, 2014, Acta].

On the convergence rate of Bergman metrics

We study the convergence rate of Bergman metrics on the class of polarized pointed K\"ahler $n$-manifolds $(M,L,g,x)$ with $\mathrm{Vol}\left( B_1 (x) \right) >v $ and $|\sec |\leq K $ on $M$. Relying on Tian's peak section method [Tian, 1990], we show that the $C^{1,\alpha }$ convergence of Bergman metrics is uniform. At the end we discuss the sharpness of our estimates.
