Sharp decay rate for eigenfunctions of perturbed periodic Schr\"odinger operators

This paper investigates uniqueness results for perturbed periodic Schr\"odinger operators on $\mathbb{Z}^d$. Specifically, we consider operators of the form $H = -\Delta + V + v$, where $\Delta$ is the discrete Laplacian, $V: \mathbb{Z}^d \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ is a periodic potential, and $v: \mathbb{Z}^d \rightarrow \mathbb{C}$ represents a decaying impurity. We establish quantitative conditions under which the equation $-\Delta u + V u + v u = \lambda u$, for $\lambda \in \mathbb{C}$, admits only the trivial solution $u \equiv 0$. Key applications include the absence of embedded eigenvalues for operators with impurities decaying faster than any exponential function and the determination of sharp decay rates for eigenfunctions. Our findings extend previous works by providing precise decay conditions for impurities and analyzing different spectral regimes of $\lambda$.

Floquet Isospectrality of the Zero Potential for Discrete Periodic Schr\"odinger Operators

Let $\Gamma=q_1\mathbb{Z}\oplus q_2 \mathbb{Z}\oplus\cdots\oplus q_d\mathbb{Z}$, with $q_j\in (\mathbb{Z}^+)^d$ for each $j\in \{1,\ldots,d\}$, and denote by $\Delta$ the discrete Laplacian on $\ell^2\left( \mathbb{Z}^d\right)$. Using Macaulay2, we first numerically find complex-valued $\Gamma$-periodic potentials $V:\mathbb{Z}^d\to \mathbb{C}$ such that the operators $\Delta+V$ and $\Delta$ are Floquet isospectral. We then use combinatorial methods to validate these numerical solutions.

Algebraic Properties of the Fermi Variety for Periodic Graph Operators

We present a method to estimate the number of irreducible components of the Fermi varieties of periodic Schr\"odinger operators on graphs in terms of suitable asymptotics. Our main theorem is an abstract bound for the number of irreducible components of Laurent polynomials in terms of such asymptotics. We then show how the abstract bound implies irreducibility in many lattices of interest, including examples with more than one vertex in the fundamental cell such as the Lieb lattice as well as certain models obtained by the process of graph decoration.

On the localization regime of certain random operators within Hartree-Fock theory

Localization results for a class of random Schr\"odinger operators within the Hartree-Fock approximation are proved in two regimes: large disorder and weak disorder/extreme energies. A large disorder threshold $\lambda_{\mathrm{HF}}$ analogous to the threshold $\lambda_{\mathrm{And}}$ obtained by Schenker in \cite{Schenkl} is provided. We also show certain stability results for this large disorder threshold by giving examples of distributions for which $\lambda_{\mathrm{HF}}$ converges to $\lambda_{\mathrm{And}}$, or to a number arbitrarily close to it, as the interaction strength tends to zero.

Irreducibility of the Bloch Variety for Finite-Range Schr\"odinger Operators

We study the Bloch variety of discrete Schr\"odinger operators associated with a complex periodic potential and a general finite-range interaction, showing that the Bloch variety is irreducible for a wide class of lattice geometries in arbitrary dimension. Examples include the triangular lattice and the extended Harper lattice.

Spectral and Dynamical contrast on highly correlated Anderson-type models

We study spectral and dynamical properties of random Schr\"odinger operators $H_{\mathrm{Vert}}=-A_{\mathbb{G}_{\mathrm{Vert}}}+V_{\omega}$ and $H_{\mathrm{Diag}}=-A_{\mathbb{G}_{\mathrm{Diag}}}+V_{\omega}$ on certain two dimensional graphs ${\mathbb{G}_{\mathrm{Vert}}}$ and ${\mathbb{G}_{\mathrm{Diag}}}$. Differently from the standard Anderson model, the random potentials are not independent but, instead, are constant along any vertical line, i.e $V_{\omega}(n)=\omega(n_1)$, for $n=(n_1,n_2)$. In particular, the potentials studied here exhibit long range correlations. We present examples where geometric changes to the underlying graph, combined with high disorder, have a significant impact on the spectral and dynamical properties of the operators, leading to contrasting behaviors for the "diagonal" and "vertical" models. Moreover, the "vertical" model exhibits a sharp phase transition within its (purely) absolutely continuous spectrum. This is captured by the notions of transient and recurrent components of the absolutely continuous spectrum, introduced by Avron and Simon.

Localization and IDS Regularity in the Disordered Hubbard Model within Hartree-Fock Theory

Using the fractional moment method it is shown that, within the Hartree-Fock approximation for the Disordered Hubbard Hamiltonian, weakly interacting Fermions at positive temperature exhibit localization, suitably defined as exponential decay of eigenfunction correlators. Our result holds in any dimension in the regime of large disorder and at any disorder in the one dimensional case. As a consequence of our methods, we are able to show H\"older continuity of the integrated density of states with respect to energy, disorder and interaction using known techniques.
