Littlewood--Paley operators and semigroup maximal operators on CMO spaces associated to Sch\"odinger operators

Let $L=-\Delta+V$ be a Schr\"odinger operator on $\mathbb{R}^n$, where $\Delta$ is the Laplacian and $V$ satisfies the reverse H\"older inequality ${\rm RH}_q$ for some $q>n/2$. In this paper, we study the behavior of the Littlewood--Paley operators $s_L$ and $S_L$, as well as the semigroup maximal operator $T^*_L$, on the space ${\rm CMO}_L(\mathbb{R}^n)$ associated with the Schr\"odinger operator $L$. It is known from previous work that these operators are bounded on ${\rm BMO}_L(\mathbb{R}^n)$. Our main result shows that they are, in fact, mappings from ${\rm CMO}_L(\mathbb{R}^n)$ into itself. To prove this, we develop several equivalent characterizations of ${\rm CMO}_L(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and employ a refined decomposition that partitions the parameter interval at $r_B\rho(x_B)$, instead of the customary $r_B^2$ or $\rho(x_B)^2$. The new strategy allows us to overcome a key technical obstacle that arises when applying existing methods to the ${\rm CMO}_L$ setting.

The derivative of the fractional discrete Laplacian is an exotic Riesz potential

Let $\Delta_{N}$ be the multidimensional discrete Laplacian on $\mathbb{Z}^N$ ($N\ge1$). In this note, we prove that, when $N=1$, the right hand derivative of $(-\Delta_1)^s$ at $0$ is an exotic discrete Riesz potential (namely, the endpoint case: the order is 0) in Stein-Wainger sense (J. Anal. Math. 2000), and when $N\ge 2$, the corresponding derivative is also an exotic discrete Riesz potential with an additional corrector. A similar conclusion for the left hand derivative case is also considered. All results obtained in this note extend the logarithmic Laplacian of Chen-Weth (Comm. PDEs. 2019) to the discrete setting.

Dirichlet problem for Schr\"odinger operators on Heisenberg groups

We investigate the Dirichlet problem associated to the Schr\"odinger operator $\mathcal L=-\Delta_{\mathbb{H}^n}+V$ on Heisenberg group $\mathbb H^n$: \begin{align*} \begin{cases} \partial_{ss}u(g,s)-\mathcal L u(g,s)=0\,,\quad &{\rm in \,\ } \mathbb{H}^n\times\mathbb{R}^+,\\ u(g,0)=f \,,\quad &{\rm on \,\ } \mathbb{H}^n \end{cases} \end{align*} with $f$ in $L^p(\mathbb{H}^n)$ ($1< p<\infty$) and in $H^1_{\mathcal L}(\mathbb{H}^n)$, i.e., the Hardy space associated with $\mathcal L$. Here $\Delta_{\mathbb{H}^n}$ is the sub-Laplacian on $\mathbb H^n$ and the nonnegative potential $V$ belongs to the reverse H\"older class $B_{Q/2}$ with $Q$ the homogeneous dimension of $\mathbb{H}^n$. The new approach is to establish a suitable weak maximum principle, which is the key to solve this problem under the condition $V\in B_{Q/2}$. This result is new even back to $\mathbb R^n$ (the condition will become $V\in B_{n/2}$) since the previous known result requires $V\in B_{(n+1)/2}$ which went through a Liouville type theorem.

Volterra type operators on weighted Dirichlet spaces

The Carleson measures for weighted Dirichlet spaces had been characterized by Girela and Pel\'{a}ez, who also characterized the boundedness of Volterra type operators between weighted Dirichlet spaces. However, their characterizations for the boundedness are not complete. In this paper, we completely characterize the boundedness and compactness of Volterra type operators from the weighted Dirichlet spaces $D_{\alpha}^p$ to $D_{\beta}^q$ ($-1<\alpha,\beta$ and $0<p<q<\infty$), which essentially complete their works. Furthermore, we investigate the order boundedness of Volterra type operators between weighted Dirichlet spaces.

Strict singularity of Volterra type operators on Hardy spaces

In this paper, we first characterize the boundedness and compactness of Volterra type operator $S_gf(z) = \int_0^z f'(\zeta)g(\zeta)d\zeta, \ z \in \mathbb{D},$ defined on Hardy spaces $H^p, \, 0< p <\infty$. The spectrum of $S_g$ is also obtained. Then we prove that $S_g$ fixes an isomorphic copy of $\ell^p$ and an isomorphic copy of $\ell^2$ if the operator $S_g$ is not compact on $H^p (1\leq p<\infty)$. In particular, this implies that the strict singularity of the operator $S_g$ coincides with the compactness of the operator $S_g$ on $H^p$. At last, we post an open question for further study.

Strict singularity of weighted composition operators on derivative Hardy spaces

We prove that the weighted composition operator $W_{\phi,\varphi}$ fixes an isomorphic copy of $\ell^p$ if the operator $W_{\phi,\varphi}$ is not compact on the derivative Hardy space $S^p$. In particular, this implies that the strict singularity of the operator $W_{\phi,\varphi}$ coincides with the compactness of it on $S^p$. Moreover, when $p\neq2$, we characterize the conditions for those weighted composition operators $W_{\phi,\varphi}$ on $S^p$ which fix an isomorphic copy of $\ell^2$ .

Volterra type operators between Bloch type spaces and weighted Banach spaces

When the weight $\mu$ is more general than normal, the complete characterizations in terms of the symbol $g$ and weights for the conditions of the boundedness and compactness of $T_g: H^{\infty}_\nu\rightarrow H^{\infty}_\mu$ and $S_g: H^{\infty}_\nu\rightarrow H^{\infty}_\mu$ are still unknown. Smith et al. firstly gave the sufficient and necessary conditions for the boundedness of Volterra type operators on Banach spaces of bounded analytic functions when the symbol functions are univalent. In this paper, continuing their lines of investigations, we give the complete characterizations of the conditions for the boundedness and compactness of Volterra type operators $T_g$ and $S_g$ between Bloch type spaces $\mathcal{B}^\infty_\nu$ and weighted Banach spaces $H^{\infty}_\nu$ with more general weights, which generalize their works.

Volterra type operators on weighted Banach spaces of analytic functions

Smith et al. recently gave the sufficient and necessary conditions for the boundedness of Volterra type operators on Banach spaces of bounded analytic functions when the symbol functions are univalent. In this paper, we give the complete characterizations of the conditions for the boundedness and compactness of Volterra type operators $T_g$ and their companion operators $S_g$ between weighted Banach spaces of analytic functions, which essentially generalize their works.

The invariant subspaces of the shift plus integer multiple of Volterra operator on Hardy spaces

\v{C}u\v{c}kovi\'{c} and Paudyal recently characterized the lattice of invariant subspaces of the shift plus a complex Volterra operator on the Hilbert space $H^2$ on the unit disk. Motivated by the idea of Ong, in this paper, we give a complete characterization of the lattice of invariant subspaces of the shift operator plus a positive integer multiple of the Volterra operator on Hardy spaces $H^p$, which essentially extends their works to the more general cases when $1\leq p<\infty$.
