Odd Khovanov homology and higher representation theory

We introduce a super analogue of $\mathfrak{gl}_2$-foams, and use it to define an invariant of oriented tangles, shown to coincide with odd Khovanov homology when restricted to links. We then define a supercategorification of the $q$-Schur algebra of level 2 and realize our construction as a certain super-2-representation. This gives a representation-theoretic construction of odd Khovanov homology, where signs naturally arise as a byproduct of the super-2-categorical structure. In the process, we define a tensor product for chain complexes in super-2-categories, suitably compatible with homotopies. This could be of independent interest.

On detection probabilities of link invariants

We prove that, for many standard link invariants, both the proportion of distinct invariant values and the detection probability among prime alternating links with at most n crossings decay exponentially in n, with an explicit universal rate. In fact, almost every such link belongs to an invariant fiber whose size is itself exponential in n. This phenomenon applies broadly, in particular to the Jones and HOMFLYPT polynomials and integral Khovanov homology. The companion website gives a much more detailed view of the data, including complete distributions of fiber sizes, separate alternating and non-alternating data, and topological data analysis.

Big data approach to Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials

We investigate the structure of Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials of the symmetric group by leveraging computational approaches from big data, including exploratory and topological data analysis, applied to the polynomials for symmetric groups of up to 11 strands.

Almost finitary birepresentation theory and applications to affine Soergel bimodules

In this article, we develop a generalization of finitary birepresentation theory applicable to Soergel bimodules for infinite Coxeter groups. We establish a reduction process for the classification of simple birepresentations of almost finitary bicategories, and consider in detail the case of Soergel bimodules in extended affine type A.

Evaluation 2-Functors for Kac-Moody 2-Categories of Type A2

We construct a 2-functor from the Kac-Moody 2-category for the extended quantum affine sl(3) to the homotopy 2-category of bounded chain complexes with values in the Kac-Moody 2-category for quantum gl(3), categorifying the evaluation map between the corresponding quantum Kac-Moody algebras.

Asymptotics in infinite monoidal categories

We discuss formulas for the asymptotic growth rate of the number of summands in tensor powers in certain (finite or infinite) monoidal categories. Our focus is on monoidal categories with infinitely many indecomposable objects, with our main tools being generalized Perron-Frobenius theory alongside techniques from random walks.

Verma Howe duality and LKB representations

We establish a version of Howe duality that involves a tensor product of Verma modules. Surprisingly, this duality leaves the realm of lowest and highest weight modules. We quantize this duality, and as an application, we prove that the (colored higher) LKB representations arise from this duality and use this description to show that they are simple as modules for the braid group and for various of its subgroups, including the pure braid group.

A basis and Schur-Weyl duality for the loop Hecke algebra

The loop Hecke algebra is a generalization of the Hecke algebra to the loop braid group, introduced by Damiani, Martin and Rowell. We give a new presentation of the loop Hecke algebra provided a mild condition on the parameter and give a basis. We use higher linear rewriting theory to show linear independence and the combinatorics of Dyck paths to compute the cardinality of the basis. This yields a conjecture of Damiani-Martin-Rowel. We also give a representation theoretic interpretation of the loop Hecke algebra in terms of (non-semisimple) Schur-Weyl duality involving the negative half of quantum $\mathfrak{gl}_{1|1}$.

Two-row Delta Springer varieties

We study the geometry and topology of $Δ$-Springer varieties associated with two-row partitions. These varieties were introduced in recent work by Griffin-Levinson-Woo to give a geometric realization of a symmetric function appearing in the Delta conjecture by Haglund-Remmel-Wilson. We provide an explicit and combinatorial description of the irreducible components of the two-row $Δ$-Springer variety and compare it to the ordinary two-row Springer fiber as well as Kato's exotic Springer fiber corresponding to a one-row bipartition. In addition to that, we extend the action of the symmetric group on the homology of the two-row $Δ$-Springer variety to an action of a degenerate affine Hecke algebra and relate this action to a $\mathfrak{gl}_{2}$-tensor space.

Enhanced nilHecke algebras and baby Verma modules

We define a derivation on the enhanced nilHecke algebra yielding a p-dg algebra when working over a field of characteristic p. We define functors on the category of p-dg modules resulting in an action of small quantum sl2 on the Grothendieck group, which is isomorphic to a baby Verma module. We upgrade the derivation into an action of the Lie algebra sl(2).

DG-Enhanced Hecke and KLR Algebras

We construct DG-enhanced versions of the degenerate affine Hecke algebra and of the affine Hecke algebra. We extend Brundan-Kleshchev and Rouquier's isomorphism and prove that after completion DG-enhanced versions of affine Hecke algebras (degenerate or nondegenerate) are isomorphic to completed DG-enhanced versions of KLR algebras for suitably defined quivers. As a byproduct, we deduce that these DG-algebras have homologies concentrated in degree zero. These homologies are isomorphic respectively to the degenerate cyclotomic Hecke algebra and the cyclotomic Hecke algebra.

Asymptotics in finite monoidal categories

We give explicit formulas for the asymptotic growth rate of the number of summands in tensor powers in certain monoidal categories with finitely many indecomposable objects, and related structures.

Annular webs and Levi subalgebras

For any Levi subalgebra of the form $\mathfrak{l}=\mathfrak{gl}_{l_{1}}\oplus\dots\oplus\mathfrak{gl}_{l_{d}}\subseteq\mathfrak{gl}_{n}$ we construct a quotient of the category of annular quantum $\mathfrak{gl}_{n}$ webs that is equivalent to the category of finite dimensional representations of quantum $\mathfrak{l}$ generated by exterior powers of the vector representation. This can be interpreted as an annular version of skew Howe duality, gives a description of the representation category of $\mathfrak{l}$ by additive idempotent completion, and a web version of the generalized blob algebra.

Odd two-variable Soergel bimodules and Rouquier complexes

We consider the odd analogue of the category of Soergel bimodules. In the odd case and already for two variables, the transposition bimodule cannot be merged into the generating Soergel bimodule, forcing one into a monoidal category with a larger Grothendieck ring compared to the even case. We establish biadjointness of suitable functors and develop graphical calculi in the 2-variable case for the odd Soergel category and the related singular Soergel 2-category. We describe the odd analogue of the Rouquier complexes and establish their invertibility in the homotopy category. For three variables, the absence of a direct sum decomposition of the tensor product of generating Soergel bimodules presents an obstacle for the Reidemeister III relation to hold in the homotopy category.

Handlebody diagram algebras

In this paper we study handlebody versions of some classical diagram algebras, most prominently, handlebody versions of Temperley-Lieb, blob, Brauer, BMW, Hecke and Ariki-Koike algebras. Moreover, motivated by Green-Kazhdan-Lusztig's theory of cells, we reformulate the notion of (sandwich, inflated or affine) cellular algebras. We explain this reformulation and how all of the above algebras are part of this theory.
