Code-Visible Liouvillian Modes and Coherent Logical Errors in Quantum Codes

Coherent Hamiltonian drifts and systematic errors can pass through quantum error correction differently than stochastic Pauli noise: they generate phase components of the logical channel that are lost under full Pauli twirling. We consider the Lindbladian dynamics of \(n\) physical qubits propagated through an effective logical channel of a fixed encoding, recovery, and decoding scheme. The work is methodological in character: standard ideas of observability and minimal realization from linear systems theory are applied to the channel \[ ω \mapsto Φ_t(ω) = \cD e^{t\cL}\cE(ω), \] where \(\cE\) encodes the logical state and \(\cD\) is the chosen recovery map with final decoding. The minimal code-visible space \(\cK_{\rm code}\) is defined as the Krylov closure of the decodable logical observables with respect to \(\cL^\dagger\); its observable factorization yields a minimal realization of the logical channel. In this form, the Knill--Laflamme conditions serve as a short-time consistency check, Pauli noise on stabilizer codes reduces to a chain on syndrome-logical classes, and the choice of recovery map acts as a spectral filter on the visible modes. For quantum memory, the same language yields an estimate of the storage time in terms of the dominant visible eigenvalues of the logical channel of the correction cycle. Particular attention is paid to the spectral signatures of coherent noise and to how these signatures depend on the chosen decoder.

Matched asymptotics of Rayleigh-wave fields near cuspidal ridges and gorges

We construct a local matched-asymptotic description of time-harmonic elastic fields generated by Rayleigh waves near cuspidal elements of a traction-free surface. The free surface is represented locally by a cusp graph with exponent $0<α<1$, or equivalently by a vanishing-width horn $b(s)=B s^m$, $m=1/α>1$. A cuspidal gorge is a zero-opening re-entrant notch: its leading field is the Williams crack-tip field, and the stresses behave as $r^{-1/2}$. The cusp exponent affects the gorge through lower-order corrections and through the stress cut-off produced by rounding the bottom. In contrast, a cuspidal ridge behaves as an elastic horn with vanishing width. The leading admissible free-tip field is asymptotically rigid (bounded stress), distinct from the high-energy branch supported by a finite tip truncation, where stresses grow as $σ\sim ρ^{-m}$. Finite-element calculations for the local static Lamé problems support these predictions: the free-tip ridge test confirms the absence of crack-like growth, the truncated ridge recovers the high-energy law, and the gorge stress slope is found to be close to $-1/2$.

Uniform asymptotic behaviour of Jacobi-$\sn$ near a singular point. The Lost formula from handbooks for elliptic functions

In this work we construct uniform asymptotic expansion of $\sn(t|m)$ - Jacobi when $m\to1-0$. The constructed expansion is valid over more than a half of period. The turning point is included into the interval of validity for the approximation. In addition we obtain the asymptotic formula for elliptic integral of the first kind and discuss the differences with the same formula from a handbook.

Forced Nonlinear Resonance in a System of Coupled Oscillators

We consider a resonantly perturbed system of coupled nonlinear oscillators with small dissipation and outer periodic perturbation. We show that for the large time $t \sim ε^{-2}$ one component of the system is described in the main by the inhomogeneous Mathieu equation while the other component represents pulsation of large amplitude. A Hamiltonian system is obtained which describes the behaviour of the envelope in the main. The analytic results agree to numerical simulations.

Autoresonance in a Dissipative System

We study the autoresonant solution of Duffing's equation in the presence of dissipation. This solution is proved to be an attracting set. We evaluate the maximal amplitude of the autoresonant solution and the time of transition from autoresonant growth of the amplitude to the mode of fast oscillations. Analytical results are illustrated by numerical simulations.

Autoresonant germ in dissipative system

We study an initial stage of autoresonant growth of a solution in a dissipative system. We construct an asymptotic formula of an autoresonant germ that is an attractor for autoresonant solutions. We present a moment of a fall and a maximum value of the amplitude for the germ. Numerical simulations are done.

The autoresonance threshold into a system of weakly coupled oscillators

We investigate a system of two weakly coupled oscillators. It is shown that an external periodic perturbation can lead to the capture into resonance. Asymptotic description and numerical simulations are presented. We have obtained the explicit formula for the threshold value for the amplitude of the perturbation that leads to the autoresonance.

Finite amplitude waves under a small resonant driving force

We construct a special asymptotic solution for the forced Boussinesq equation. The perturbation is small and oscillates with a slowly varied frequency. The slow passage through the resonance generates waves with the finite amplitude. This phenomenon is described in details.
