Permutation orbifolds and simple current extensions

In this article, we study permutation orbifolds and simple current extensions in the framework of vertex operator (super)algebras. We extend the construction of permutation-twisted modules for tensor products of vertex operator algebras to vertex operator superalgebras with $\frac12\mathbb Z$-grading, including the effect of the canonical involution. Using tensor category methods and simple current extensions, we build an induction theory for permutation-twisted modules associated with solvable automorphism groups, arising from semidirect products of simple current automorphisms and cyclic permutations. In particular, we describe the structure and classification of irreducible twisted modules in terms of stabilizer subgroups and associated projective representations, and determine their multiplicities explicitly. As applications, we illustrate the theory with explicit examples from code vertex operator algebras, lattice-type simple current extensions, and the Moonshine vertex operator algebra.

Fusion Products of Twisted Modules in Permutation Orbifolds: II

Let $V$ be a simple, rational, $C_{2}$-cofinite vertex operator algebra of CFT type, and let $k$ be a positive integer. In this paper, we determine the fusion products of twisted modules for $V^{\otimes k}$ and $G = \left\langle g \right\rangle$ generated by any permutation $g \in S_{k}$.

Permutation orbifolds of vertex operator superalgebra and associative algebras

Let $V$ be a vertex operator superalgebra and $g=\left(1\ 2\ \cdots k\right)$ be a $k$-cycle which is viewed as an automorphism of the tensor product vertex operator superalgebra $V^{\otimes k}$. In this paper, we construct an explicit isomorphism from $A_{g}\left(V^{\otimes k}\right)$ to $A\left(V\right)$ if $k$ is odd and to $A_{\sigma}\left(V\right)$ if $k$ is even where $\sigma$ is the canonical automorphism of $V$ of order 2 determined by the superspace structure of $V.$ These recover previous results by Barron and Barron-Werf that there is a one-to-one correspondence between irreducible $g$-twisted $V^{\otimes k}$-modules and irreducible $V$-modules (resp. irreducible $\sigma$-twisted $V$-modules) when $k$ is odd (resp. even). This explicit isomorphism is expected to be useful in our further study on the Zhu algebra of fixed point subalgebra.

Representations over diagrams of abelian categories II: Abelian model structures

This is the second paper in a series on representations over diagrams of abelian categories. We show that, under certain conditions, a compatible family of abelian model categories indexed by a skeletal small category can be amalgamated into an abelian model structure on the category of representations. Our approach focuses on classes of morphisms rather than cotorsion pairs of objects. Additionally, we provide an explicit description of cofibrant objects in the resulting abelian model category. As applications, we construct Gorenstein injective and Gorenstein flat model structures on the category of presheaves of modules over a special class of index category and characterize Gorenstein homological objects within this framework.

On irreducibility of modules of Whittaker type: twisted modules and nonabelian orbifolds

In arXiv:1811.04649, we extended the Dong-Mason theorem on irreducibility of modules for cyclic orbifold vertex algebras to the entire category weak modules and applied this result to Whittaker modules. In this paper we present further generalizations of these results for nonabelian orbifolds of vertex operator superalgebras. Let $V$ be a vertex superalgebra with a countable dimension and let $G$ be a finite subgroup of $\mathrm{Aut}(V)$. Assume that $h\in Z(G)$ where $Z(G)$ is the center of the group $G$. For any irreducible $h$-twisted (weak) $V$-module $M$, we prove that if $M\not\cong g\circ M$ for all $g\in G$ then $M$ is also irreducible as $V^G$-module. We also apply this result to examples and give irreducibility of modules of Whittaker type for orbifolds of Neveu-Schwarz vertex superalgebras, Heisenberg vertex algebras, Virasoro vertex operator algebra and Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex algebra.

Representations over diagrams of abelian categories I: Global structure and homological objects

Representations over diagrams of abelian categories unify quite a few notions appearing widely in literature such as representations of categories, presheaves of modules over categories, representations of species, etc. In this series of papers we study them systematically, characterizing special homological objects in representation category and constructing various structures (such as model structures and Wandhuasen category strcutres) on it. In the first paper we investigate the Grothendieck structure of the representation category, describe important functors and adjunction relations between them, and characterize special homological objects. These results lay a foundation for our future works.

Irreducible modules of toroidal Lie algebras arising from $\phi_\epsilon$-coordinated modules of vertex algebras

In this paper, for every $\epsilon\in \mathbb{Z}$, we introduce an extension of the 2-toroidal Lie algebra by certain derivations. Based on the $\phi_\epsilon$-coordinated modules theory for vertex algebras, we give an explicit realization of a class of irreducible highest weight modules for this extended toroidal Lie algebra. When $\epsilon=1$, this affords a realization of certain irreducible modules for the toroidal extended affine Lie algebras first constructed by Billig.

$S$-matrix in permutation orbifolds

For a fixed positive integer $k$, any element $g$ of the permutation group $S_{k}$ acts on the tensor product vertex operator algebra $V^{\otimes k}$ in the obvious way. In this paper, we determine the $S$-matrix of $\left(V^{\otimes k}\right)^{G}$ if $G=\left\langle g\right\rangle $ is the cyclic group generated by $g=\left(1,\ 2,\cdots,k\right).$

On a family of vertex operator superalgebras

This paper is to study vertex operator superalgebras which are strongly generated by their weight-$2$ and weight-$\frac{3}{2}$ homogeneous subspaces. Among the main results, it is proved that if such a vertex operator superalgebra $V$ is simple, then $V_{(2)}$ has a canonical commutative associative algebra structure equipped with a non-degenerate symmetric associative bilinear form and $V_{(\frac{3}{2})}$ is naturally a $V_{(2)}$-module equipped with a $V_{(2)}$-valued symmetric bilinear form and a non-degenerate ($\mathbb{C}$-valued) symmetric bilinear form, satisfying a set of conditions. On the other hand, assume that $A$ is any commutative associative algebra equipped with a non-degenerate symmetric associative bilinear form and assume that $U$ is an $A$-module equipped with a symmetric $A$-valued bilinear form and a non-degenerate ($\mathbb{C}$-valued) symmetric bilinear form, satisfying the corresponding conditions. Then we construct a Lie superalgebra $\mathcal{L}(A,U)$ and a simple vertex operator superalgebra $L_{\mathcal{L}(A,U)}(\ell,0)$ for every nonzero number $\ell$ such that $L_{\mathcal{L}(A,U)}(\ell,0)_{(2)}=A$ and $L_{\mathcal{L}(A,U)}(\ell,0)_{(\frac{3}{2})}=U$.

Extended affine Lie algebras, vertex algebras and equivariant $\phi$-coordinated quasi modules

For any nullity $2$ extended affine Lie algebra $\mathcal{E}$ of maximal type and $\ell\in\mathbb{C}$, we prove that there exist a vertex algebra $V_{\mathcal{E}}(\ell)$ and an automorphism group $G$ of $V_{\mathcal{E}}(\ell)$ equipped with a linear character $\chi$, such that the category of restricted $\mathcal{E}$-modules of level $\ell$ is canonically isomorphic to the category of $(G,\chi)$-equivariant $\phi$-coordinated quasi $V_{\mathcal{E}}(\ell)$-modules. Moreover, when $\ell$ is a nonnegative integer, there is a quotient vertex algebra $L_{\mathcal{E}}(\ell)$ of $V_{\mathcal{E}}(\ell)$ modulo by a $G$-stable ideal, and we prove that the integrable restricted $\mathcal{E}$-modules of level $\ell$ are exactly the $(G,\chi)$-equivariant $\phi$-coordinated quasi $L_{\mathcal{E}}(\ell)$-modules.

Permutation orbifolds and associative algebras

Let $V$ be a vertex operator algebra and $g=\left(1\ 2\ \cdots k\right)$ be a $k$-cycle which is viewed as an automorphism of the vertex operator algebra $V^{\otimes k}$. It is proved that Dong-Li-Mason's associated associative algebra $A_{g}\left(V^{\otimes k}\right)$ is isomorphic to Zhu's algebra $A\left(V\right)$ explicitly. This result recovers a previous result that there is a one-to-one correspondence between irreducible $g$-twisted $V^{\otimes k}$-modules and irreducible $V$-modules.

Fusion products of twisted modules in permutation orbifolds

Let $V$ be a vertex operator algebra, $k$ a positive integer and $\sigma$ a permutation automorphism of the vertex operator algebra $V^{\otimes k}$. In this paper, we determine the fusion product of any $V^{\otimes k}$-module with any $\sigma$-twisted $V^{\otimes k}$-module.

$6A$-Algebra and its representations

In this paper, we study the structure and representation of a $6A$-algebra which is a vertex operator algebra generated by two Ising vectors $e,f$ with inner product $\left\langle e,f\right\rangle =\frac{5}{2^{10}}.$ In particular, we prove the uniqueness of the vertex operator algebra structure of this 6A-algebra, classify the irreducible modules, and determine the fusion rules.

On irreducibility of modules of Whittaker type for cyclic orbifold vertex algebra

We extend the Dong-Mason theorem on the irreducibility of modules for orbifold vertex algebras from [C. Dong, G. Mason, Duke Math. J. 86 (1997)] 305-321] for the category of weak modules. Let $V$ be a vertex operator algebra, $g$ an automorphism of order $p$. Let $W$ be an irreducible weak $V$--module such that $W,W\circ g,\dots,W\circ g^{p-1}$ are inequivalent irreducible modules. We prove that $W$ is an irreducible weak $V^{\left\langle g\right\rangle }$-module. This result can be applied on irreducible modules of certain Lie algebra $\mathfrak L$ such that $W,W\circ g,\dots,W\circ g^{p-1}$ are Whittaker modules having different Whittaker functions. We present certain applications in the cases of the Heisenberg and Weyl vertex operator algebras.

Simple Whittaker modules over free bosonic orbifold vertex operator algebras

We construct weak (i.e. non-graded) modules over the vertex operator algebra $M(1)^+$, which is the fixed-point subalgebra of the higher rank free bosonic (Heisenberg) vertex operator algebra with respect to the $-1$ automorphism. These weak modules are constructed from Whittaker modules for the higher rank Heisenberg algebra. We prove that the modules are simple as weak modules over $M(1)^+$ and calculate their Whittaker type when regarded as modules for the Virasoro Lie algebra. Lastly, we show that any Whittaker module for the Virasoro Lie algebra occurs in this way. These results are a higher rank generalization of some results by Tanabe.

FI$^m$-modules over Noetherian rings

In this paper we study representation theory of the category FI$^m$ introduced by Gadish which is a product of copies of the category FI, and show that quite a few interesting representational and homological properties of FI can be generalized to FI$^m$ in a natural way. In particular, we prove the representation stability property of finitely generated FI$^m$-modules over fields of characteristic 0.
