Boundary conditions for axionic wormholes, imaginary distance bound and KSW allowability

We study four-dimensional axion wormholes in the Lorentzian mini-superspace path integral using dual scalar and three-form flux formulations. We analyze this duality for generic metric boundary conditions and real lapse integration contour, and show that it holds on any background, including complex ones. With the Dirichlet condition on the metric, the fixed-flux path integral is evaluated exactly. In the Euclidean regime, saddle geometries organize into same-side and cross-throat segments of the Giddings-Strominger (GS) wormhole, depending on whether the two boundaries lie on the same or opposite sides of the throat. A Picard-Lefschetz analysis in the covering plane of lapse reveals that the cross-throat saddle has vanishing intersection number, and therefore does not contribute. In the asymptotically flat limit, it corresponds to the imaginary wormhole that saturates the imaginary distance bound (IDB). The same conclusion follows independently on the scalar side of the duality, and is confirmed by the exact amplitude. Replacing the Dirichlet condition with a one-parameter Neumann condition, the cross-throat saddle that leads to the imaginary wormholes remains irrelevant for the physical lift of the contour. This purely imaginary parameter characterizing the Neumann condition interpolates continuously between the half- and complete-wormhole geometries. Convergence of the sum over fixed-charge sectors imposes a corresponding interpolating bound not only on the imaginary part of the boundary axion but also on the parameter characterizing the Neumann boundary condition. An independent analysis based on the KSW criterion reproduces exactly the same bound, emphasizing its compatibility with the IDB.

Optimizing Ti substitution for the enhanced densification, ionic conductivity, and microstructure of garnet-type Li$_7$La$_3$Zr$_2$O$_{12}$ solid electrolytes

Garnet-type lithium lanthanum zirconium oxide Li$_7$La$_3$Zr$_2$O$_{12}$ (LLZO) is a favorable solid electrolyte for all-solid-state Li-ion batteries due to its wide electrochemical stability, compatible ionic conductivity, and good safety. However, further improvement in ionic conductivity is required for its practical applications. In this work, titanium (Ti) is doped into LLZO to enhance its Li-ion transport properties and structural stability. The series Li$_7$La$_3$Zr$_{2-x}$Ti$_x$O$_{12}$ has been successfully synthesized using conventional solid-state reaction method. The content of Ti has been varied from 0 to 0.20 atoms per formula unit (a.p.f.u). The conducting cubic phase has been confirmed by the X-ray diffraction technique (XRD). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) have been used for structural analysis, and elemental distribution. Density measurements have been carried out for all the samples. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy revealed that the high ionic conductivity of $8.08\times 10^{-5}$ Scm$^{-1}$ is offered by the Li$_7$La$_3$Zr$_{1.9}$Ti$_{0.1}$O$_{12}$ sample, which has the lowest activation energy of 0.37 eV. The DC polarization analysis verified that the main contribution to conductivity in the 0.10 Ti sample comes from ions. A one order of magnitude increase in room temperature ionic conductivity is observed for the 0.10 Ti sample, making it a strong candidate for solid electrolyte applications.

Knee Osteoarthritis Severity Grading Using Optimized Deep Learning and LLM-Driven Intelligent AI on Computationally Limited Systems

Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is among the musculoskeletal disorders that considerably restrict joint mobility, cause severe chronic pain and impact negatively on quality life. It is one of the persistent health issues worldwide. Generally, subjectivity and inter-observer variability undermine conventional practices and evaluation process that are adopted to address such health issues. Hence precise and timely diagnosis would be one of the effective ways for the assessment of its severity. This paper proposes an automated diagnostic approach for severity grading of KOA by blending a deep learning convolutional neural network (CNN) with a device-based inference platform powered by TensorFlow Lite. It proposes a model based on the ResNet-18 convolutional neural network. The designed model is trained on publicly available database. Through a transfer learning approach obtained knee images are first classified into five Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) grades. Further the developed model is optimised. During the training of the model test accuracy of 94.48% with stable convergence has been achieved. Subsequently the optimised model transformed into a lightweight TensorFlow Lite format, facilitating seamless deployment on resource-constrained devices. The designed model is capable enough to operate in the environment having no continuous internet connectivity. Also, an auxiliary Large Language Model (Gemini-2.0-flash) is applied to generate structured interpretive findings like potential symptoms, risk factors, and preventive majors etc. The LLM component functions as interface without influencing the classification process. The proposed model articulates the feasibility of an on-device, interpretable decision-support tools for early diagnosis and improve accessibility to Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted knee screening tool.

Polarization Effects in Laser-Assisted (e,2e) Collision on H-atom by Twisted Electrons

The dynamics of fast (e, 2e) collisions, induced by the impact of twisted electron beams, on atomic hydrogen, is analyzed in the presence of a laser field with circular and linear polarization. For the (e,2e) differential cross-section calculations we use Volkov and Coulomb-Volkov wave functions for scattered and ejected electrons, respectively, while the laser-atom interaction is treated in first-order perturbation theory. The formalism is developed for the asymmetric coplanar geometry in the first Born approximation. We investigate the influence of laser field polarization and provide a comparative analysis of Triple Differential Cross-Sections (TDCS) for circularly and linearly polarized laser fields as a function of ejected electron angle. The overall magnitude of the cross-section is larger for circular polarization as compared to linear polarization. Some notable changes in the angular distributions of TDCS were also observed for the circular polarization as compared to that for linear polarization. We further extend the study to coherent superpositions of twisted electron beams to examine OAM effects for macroscopic target which shows that the TDCS$_{av}$ is strongly sensitive to the difference of the projectiles OAM as well as on the phase difference between them.

ZK-Rollup for Hyperledger Fabric: Architecture and Performance Evaluation

A big challenge posed in blockchain centric platforms is achieving scalability while also preserving user privacy. This report details the design, implementation and evaluation of a Layer-2 scaling solution for Hyperledger Fabric using Zero Knowledge Rollups (ZK Rollups). The proposed architecture introduces an off chain sequencer that accepts transactions immediately and sends them for batching into a Merkle tree based rollup, using ZK proofs to attest to the correctness and verifiability of the entire batch. The design aims to decouple transaction ingestion from actual on chain settlements to address Fabric scalability limitations and increase throughput under high load conditions. The baseline architecture in Hyperledger Fabric constrains transaction requests due to endorsement, ordering and validation phases, leading to a throughput of 5 to 7 TPS with an average latency of 4 seconds. Our Layer-2 solution achieves an ingestion throughput of 70 to 100 TPS, leading to an increase of nearly ten times due to the sequencer immediate acceptance of each transaction and reducing client perceived latency by nearly eighty percent to 700 to 1000 milliseconds. This work demonstrates that integrating ZK Rollups in Hyperledger Fabric enhances scalability while not compromising the security guarantees of a permissioned blockchain network.

Adaptive Intrusion Detection System Leveraging Dynamic Neural Models with Adversarial Learning for 5G/6G Networks

Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are critical components in safeguarding 5G/6G networks from both internal and external cyber threats. While traditional IDS approaches rely heavily on signature-based methods, they struggle to detect novel and evolving attacks. This paper presents an advanced IDS framework that leverages adversarial training and dynamic neural networks in 5G/6G networks to enhance network security by providing robust, real-time threat detection and response capabilities. Unlike conventional models, which require costly retraining to update knowledge, the proposed framework integrates incremental learning algorithms, reducing the need for frequent retraining. Adversarial training is used to fortify the IDS against poisoned data. By using fewer features and incorporating statistical properties, the system can efficiently detect potential threats. Extensive evaluations using the NSL- KDD dataset demonstrate that the proposed approach provides better accuracy of 82.33% for multiclass classification of various network attacks while resisting dataset poisoning. This research highlights the potential of adversarial-trained, dynamic neural networks for building resilient IDS solutions.

Impact of Ce Substitution on Structural and Electrochemical Properties of Ga Doped Garnet Li7La3Zr2O12 Solid Electrolyte

In order to replace conventional liquid electrolytes, solid electrolyte should possess high ionic conductivity. In this study, the effects of Ga-Ce co-doping on the garnet Li7La3Zr2O12 solid electrolyte have been investigated. The series Li6.4Ga0.2La3Zr2-xCexO12 has been prepared with varying content of Ce from 0 to 0.30 atoms per formula unit (a.p.f.u.) by sintering at 1050^0C. Various structural characterizations namely X-diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), density measurements were carried out. The electrochemical analysis suggested that, the sample with 0.10 a.p.f.u. of Ce offered the highest room temperature ionic conductivity of 4 x 10-4 S/cm with the minimum activation energy of 0.29 eV. Moreover, DC conductivity measurement proved the predominant ionic conduction in the prepared samples making it suitable for the application in all solid state Li-ion batteries (ASSLIBs).

Triple differential cross-section for Laser-assisted (e,2e) process on $H_2O$ molecule by Plane and Twisted electrons Impact

Twisted electron-impact single ionization ((e,2e) process) of water molecule is theoretically studied in the presence of an external laser field. Calculations have been performed in the framework of the first Born approximation in coplanar asymmetric geometry. The wave functions for the fast (incident/scattered) electron and the ejected electron are described by the Volkov and Coulomb Volkov wave functions respectively which take into account the interaction of the laser field with incident/scattered and ejected electrons respectively. We calculate the triple differential cross section (TDCS) corresponding to the laser-assisted (e,2e) process for different orientations of the linearly polarised laser field. We describe the molecular state of $H_{2}O$ by the linear combination of atomic orbitals (self-consistent field LCAO method). The angular profile of the TDCS for plane wave electrons is strongly modified by the laser field compared to that of without laser field. However, for the twisted electrons with laser field the angular distribution is slightly changed from those of without laser field. We study the angular distribution of TDCS for laser field polarization parallel to the incident momentum ($\varepsilon_0$ $\parallel$ $k_i$), parallel to momentum transfer ($\varepsilon_0$ $\parallel$ $\Delta$) and perpendicular to the momentum transfer ($\varepsilon_0$ $\perp$ $\Delta$) and we observe that the $\varepsilon_0$ $\parallel$ $\Delta$ has the highest magnitude of TDCS. For the orientations $\varepsilon_0$ $\parallel$ $k_i$ and $\varepsilon_0$ $\perp$ $\Delta$, the laser-assisted plane wave studies shows oscillatory nature of TDCS but for the orientation $\varepsilon_0$ $\parallel$ $\Delta$ we observe only recoil peak for $p-like$ character orbitals and dual peak, a recoil and binary peaks for the $s-like$ character orbital.

Orthogonality of a new family of $q$-Sobolev type polynomials

In this work, we introduce and construct specific $q$-polynomials that are desired from the well-established families of $q$-orthogonal polynomials, namely little $q$-Jacobi polynomials and $q$-Laguerre polynomials, respectively. We examine these newly constructed $q$-polynomials and observe that they possess integral representations of little $q$-Jacobi polynomials and $q$-Laguerre polynomials. These polynomials solve a third-order $q$-difference equation and display an unconventional four-term recurrence relation. This unique recurrence relation makes us categorize them as $q$-Sobolev-type orthogonal polynomials. This motivation leads to defining the general Sobolev-type orthogonality for $q$-polynomials. Special cases of these polynomials are also explored and discussed. Furthermore, we delve into the behavior of these $q$-orthogonal polynomials of Sobolev type as the parameters approach $1$. We also examine their zeros and interlacing properties.

Laser-assisted (e,2e) study with twisted electron beam on H-atom

We study the laser-assisted twisted electron beam impact ionization of the hydrogen atom in coplanar asymmetric geometry. We develope the theoretical model in the first Born approximation. In the presence of the laser field, we treat the incident and scattered electrons as Volkov waves, the ejected electron, moving in the combined field of the laser and residual ion H + , is described by a Coulomb-Volkov wave function . In this communication, we compare the angular profile of triple differential cross-section (TDCS) for laser-assisted twisted electron beam incidence with the plane-wave, laser-assisted plane wave, and field-free twisted electron beam for (e,2e) processes, for different orbital angular momentum (OAM) number (m l ) values. We analyze the influence of the laser parameters (photon exchanged, intensity ) on the angular distribution of the TDCS. We study the (T DCS) av for macroscopic target to examine the effect of opening angle {\theta} p of the twisted electron beam on the angular profile of TDCS. Our results clearly show the impact of laser parameters (electric field ? and number of photon exchanged (l)) and twisted electron beam parameters (OAM number (m l ) and opening angle ({\theta} p )) on the angular distribution of TDCS.

Dynamics of twisted electron impact ionization of CH4 and NH3 molecule

Electron vortex beams (EVB, also known as twisted electron beams) possess an intrinsic orbital angular momentum (OAM) with respect to their propagation direction. This intrinsic OAM represents a new degree of freedom that provides new insights into investigating the dynamics of electron impact ionization. In this communication, we present, in the first-Born approximation (FBA), the angular profiles of the triple differential cross-section (TDCS) for the (e, 2e) process on CH4 and NH3 molecular targets in the coplanar asymmetric geometry. We compare the TDCS of the EVB for different values of OAM number m with that of the plane wave. For a more realistic scenario, we investigate the average TDCS for macroscopic targets to explore the influence of the opening angle {\theta}p of the twisted electron beam on the TDCS. In addition, we also present the TDCS for the coherent superposition of two EVBs. The results demonstrate that the twisted (e, 2e) process retrieves the p-type character of the molecular orbitals, which is absent in the plane wave TDCS for the given kinematics. The results for the coherent superposition of two Bessel beams show the sensitivity of TDCS towards the OAM number m.

Collective Variables for Crystallization Simulations -- from Early Developments to Recent Advances

Crystallization is one of the most important physicochemical processes which has relevance in material science, biology, and the environment. Decades of experimental and theoretical efforts have been made to understand this fundamental symmetry-breaking transition. While experiments provide equilibrium structures and shapes of crystals, they are limited to unraveling how molecules aggregate to form crystal nuclei that subsequently transform into bulk crystals. Computer simulations, mainly molecular dynamics (MD), can provide such microscopic details during the early stage of a crystallization event. Crystallization is a rare event that takes place in timescales much longer than a typical equilibrium MD simulation can sample. This inadequate sampling of the MD method can be easily circumvented by the use of enhanced sampling (ES) simulations. An ES method enhances the fluctuations of a system's slow degrees of freedom, called collective variables (CVs), by applying a bias potential, and thereby transforms the system from one state to the other within a short timescale. The most crucial part of an ES method is to find suitable CVs which often needs intuition and several trial-and-error optimization steps. Over the years, a plethora of CVs has been developed and applied in the study of crystallization. In this review, we provide a brief overview of CVs that have been developed and used in ES simulations to study crystallization from melt or solution. These CVs can be categorized mainly into four types: (i) spherical particle-based, (ii) molecular template-based, (iii) physical property-based, and (iv) CVs obtained from dimensionality reduction techniques. We present the context-based evolution of CVs, discuss the current challenges, and propose future directions to further develop effective CVs for the study of crystallization of complex systems.
