Killing Vectors in Spacetime of the De Sitter Invariant Special Relativity

In this paper, we use the Killing vector method to formulate the de Sitter/Anti-de Sitter invariant special relativity (dS/AdS-SR). Through solving the Einstein equation with $\Lambda\neq 0$, the basic inertial metric for dS/AdS-SR is determined to be the Beltrami metric $B_{\mu\nu}(x)$. The corresponding Killing equations are system of ten simultaneous partial differential equations of first order. Their most general solutions were obtained, and all the ten independent Killing vectors were found out. These results confirm that the Beltrami metric has maximal spacetime symmetry. The ten Killing-Noether charges are obtained. They are energy, momenta, Lorentz boost and angular momentum in SR-theory with $\Lambda\neq 0$. Consequently, dS/AdS-SR is consistently established for the vacuum with $\Lambda\neq 0$ via Killing vector method rather than the unpopular classical domain theory.

Implication of Spatial and Temporal Variations of the Fine-Structure Constant

Temporal and spatial variation of fine-structure constant $\alpha\equiv e^2/\hbar c$ in cosmology has been reported in analysis of combination Keck and VLT data. This paper studies this variation based on consideration of basic spacetime symmetry in physics. Both laboratory $\alpha_0$ and distant $\alpha_z$ are deduced from relativistic spectrum equations of atoms (e.g.,hydrogen atom) defined in inertial reference system. When Einstein's $\Lambda\neq 0$, the metric of local inertial reference systems in SM of cosmology is Beltrami metric instead of Minkowski, and the basic spacetime symmetry has to be de Sitter (dS) group. The corresponding special relativity (SR) is dS-SR. A model based on dS-SR is suggested. Comparing the predictions on $\alpha$-varying with the data, the parameters are determined. The best-fit dipole mode in $\alpha$'s spatial varying is reproduced by this dS-SR model. $\alpha$-varyings in whole sky is also studied. The results are generally in agreement with the estimations of observations. The main conclusion is that the phenomenon of $\alpha$-varying cosmologically with dipole mode dominating is due to the de Sitter (or anti de Sitter) spacetime symmetry with a Minkowski point in an extended special relativity called de Sitter invariant special relativity (dS-SR) developed by Dirac-In\"{o}n\"{u}-Wigner-G\"{u}rsey-Lee-Lu-Zou-Guo.

Schwarzschild-de Sitter Metric and Inertial Beltrami Coordinates

Under consideration of coordinate conditions, we get the Schwarzschild-Beltrami-de Sitter (S-BdS) metric solution of the Einstein field equations with a cosmological constant $\Lambda$. A brief review to the de Sitter invariant special relativity (dS-SR), and de Sitter general relativity (dS-GR, or GR with a $\Lambda$) is presented. The Beltrami metric $B_{\mu\nu}$ provides inertial reference frame for the dS-spacetime. By examining the Schwarzschild-de Sitter (S-dS) metric $g_{\mu\nu}^{(M)}$ existed in literatures since 1918, we find that the existed S-dS metric $g_{\mu\nu}^{(M)}$ describes some mixing effects of gravity and inertial-force, instead of a pure gravity effect arisen from "solar mass" $M$ in dS-GR. In this paper, we solve the vacuum Einstein equation of dS-GR, with the requirement of gravity-free metric $g_{\mu\nu}^{(M)}|_{M\rightarrow 0}=B_{\mu\nu}$. In this way we find S-BdS solution of dS-GR, written in inertial Beltrami coordinates. This is a new form of S-dS metric. Its physical meaning and possible applications are discussed.

Remark on "Pair Creation Constrains Superluminal Neutrino Propagation"

The concept of group velocity of a particle should be consistent with its Hamilton-Jacobi velocity. This point is missed in the work of Cohen, Glashow, "{\it Pair Creation Constrains Superluminal Neutrino Propagation}" (Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 107}, 181803 (2011)). It then leads to the conclusion of existence of Cherenkov-like radiation provided one sees superluminal neutrinos. We show that in the framework of Special Relativity with de Sitter space-time symmetry (dS-SR) the above Cohen-Glashow argument does not hold and the Cherenkov-like radiation is forbidden. Our result is consistent with the experimental results of the ICARUS Collaboration.

On determination of the geometric cosmological constant from the OPERA experiment of superluminal neutrinos

The recent OPERA experiment of superluminal neutrinos has deep consequences in cosmology. In cosmology a fundamental constant is the cosmological constant. From observations one can estimate the effective cosmological constant $\Lambda_{eff}$ which is the sum of the quantum zero point energy $\Lambda_{dark energy}$ and the geometric cosmological constant $\Lambda$. The OPERA experiment can be applied to determine the geometric cosmological constant $\Lambda$. It is the first time to distinguish the contributions of $\Lambda$ and $\Lambda_{dark energy}$ from each other by experiment. The determination is based on an explanation of the OPERA experiment in the framework of Special Relativity with de Sitter space-time symmetry.

Superluminal Neutrinos from Special Relativity with de Sitter Space-time Symmetry

We explore the recent OPERA experiment of superluminal neutrinos in the framework of Special Relativity with de Sitter space-time symmetry (dS-SR). According to Einstein a photon is treated as a massless particle in the framework of Special Relativity. In Special Relativity (SR) we have the universal parameter $c$, the photon velocity $c_{photon}$ and the phase velocity of a light wave in vacuum $c_{wave}=\lambda\nu$. Due to the null experiments of Michelson-Morley we have $c=c_{wave}$. The parameter $c_{photon}$ is determined by the Noether charges corresponding to the space-time symmetries of SR. In Einstein's Special Relativity (E-SR) we have $c=c_{photon}$. In dS-SR, i.e. the Special Relativity with SO(4,1) de Sitter space-time symmetry, we have $c_{photon}>c$. In this paper, the OPERA datum are examined in the framework of dS-SR. We show that OPREA anomaly is in agreement with the prediction of dS-SR with $R\simeq 1.95\times 10^{12}l.y.$ Based on the $p$-$E$ relation of dS-SR, we also prove that the Cohen and Glashow's argument of possible superluminal neutrino's Cherenkov-like radiation is forbidden. We conclude that OPERA and ICARUS results are consistent and they are explained in the dS-SR framework.

Evidence for Special Relativity with de Sitter Space-Time Symmetry

I show the formulation of de Sitter Special Relativity (dS-SR) based on Dirac-Lu-Zou-Guo's discussions. dS-SR quantum mechanics is formulated, and the dS-SR Dirac equation for hydrogen is suggested. The equation in the earth-QSO framework reference is solved by means of the adiabatic approach. It's found that the fine-structure "constant" $\alpha$ in dS-SR varies with time. By means of the $t-z$ relation of the $\Lambda$CDM model, $\alpha$'s time-dependency becomes redshift $z$-dependent. The dS-SR's predictions of $\Delta\alpha/\alpha$ agree with data of spectra of 143 quasar absorption systems, the dS-space-time symmetry is SO(3,2) (i.e., anti-dS group) $\;$ and the universal parameter $R$ (de Sitter ratio) in dS-SR is estimated to be $R\simeq 2.73\times 10^{12}ly$. The effects of dS-SR become visible at the cosmic space-time scale (i.e., the distance $\geq 10^9 ly$). At that scale dS-SR is more reliable than Einstein SR. The $\alpha$-variation with time is an evidence of SR with de Sitter symmetry.

$X(1835)$ and the New Resonances $X(2120)$ and $X(2370)$ Observed by the BES Collaboration

We calculate the decay widths of both the second and the third radial excitations of $\eta$ and $\eta'$ within the framework of $^3P_0$ model. After comparing the theoretical decay widths and decay patterns with the available experimental data of $\eta(1760)$, $X(1835)$, $X(2120)$ and $X(2370)$, we find that the interpretation of $\eta(1760)$ and $X(1835)$ as the second radial excitation of $\eta$ and $\eta'$ crucially depends on the measured mass and width of $\eta(1760)$, which is still controversial experimentally. We suggest that there may be sizable $p\bar{p}$ content in $X(1835)$. $X(2120)$ and $X(2370)$ can not be understood as the third radial excitations of $\eta$ and $\eta'$, $X(2370)$ probably is a mixture of $\eta'(4{^1}{S}{_0})$ and glueball.

One Electron Atom in Special Relativity with de Sitter Space-Time Symmetry

The de Sitter invariant Special Relativity (dS-SR) is a SR with constant curvature, and a natural extension of usual Einstein SR (E-SR). In this paper, we solved the dS-SR Dirac equation of Hydrogen by means of the adiabatic approach and the quasi-stationary perturbation calculations of QM. Hydrogen atoms are located on the light cone of the Universe. FRW metric and $\Lambda$CDM cosmological model are used to discuss this issue. To the atom, effects of de Sitter space-time geometry described by Beltrami metric are taken into account. The dS-SR Dirac equation turns out to be a time dependent quantum Hamiltonian system. We revealed that: 1,The fundamental physics constants $m_e,\;\hbar,\;e$ variate adiabatically along with cosmologic time in dS-SR QM framework. But the fine-structure constant $\alpha\equiv e^2/(\hbar c)$ keeps to be invariant; 2,$(2s^{1/2}-2p^{1/2})$-splitting due to dS-SR QM effects: By means of perturbation theory, that splitting $\Delta E(z)$ were calculated analytically, which belongs to $\mathcal{O}(1/R^2)$-physics of dS-SR QM. Numerically, we found that when $|R|\simeq \{10^3 Gly,\;10^4 Gly,\;10^5 Gly\;\}$, and $z\simeq \{1,\;{\rm or}\;2\}$, the $\Delta E(z)>> 1{\rm (Lamb\; shift)}$. This indicate that for these cases the hyperfine structure effects due to QED could be ignored, and the dS-SR fine structure effects are dominant. This effect could be used to determine the universal constant $R$ in dS-SR, and be thought as a new physics beyond E-SR.

Hydrogen Atom and Time Variation of Fine-Structure Constant

In this paper, we have solved the de Sitter special relativistic ($\mathcal{SR}_{cR}$-) Dirac equation of hydrogen in the earth-QSO(quasar) framework reference by means of the adiabatic approach. The aspects of geometry effects of de Sitter space-time described by Beltrami metric are explored and taken into account. It is found that the $\mathcal{SR}_{cR}$-Dirac equation of hydrogen is a time dependent quantum Hamiltonian system. We provide an explicit calculation to justify the adiabatic approach in dealing with this time-dependent system. Since the radius of de Sitter sphere $R$ is cosmologically large, the evolution of the system is very slow so that the adiabatic approximation legitimately works with high accuracy. We conclude that the electromagnetic fine-structure constant, the electron mass and the Planck constant are time variations. This prediction of fine-structure constant is consistent with the presently available observation data. For confirming it further, experiments/observations are required.

Microscopic description of the chiral Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid at the fractional quantum Hall edge

The effective field theory of the fractional quantum Hall edge is reformulated from microscopic dynamics. Noncommutative Chern-Simons theory is a microscopic description for the quantum Hall fluid. We use it for reference. Considering relabeling symmetry of the electrons and incompressibility of the fluid, we obtain a constraint and derive a chiral Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid theory containing interaction terms. We calculate one-loop corrections to the phonon and electron propagators and get a new tunneling exponent. It agrees with experiments.

Dynamics of Hadronic Molecule in One-Boson Exchange Approach and Possible Heavy Flavor Molecules

We extend the one pion exchange model at quark level to include the short distance contributions coming from $η$, $σ$, $ρ$ and $ω$ exchange. This formalism is applied to discuss the possible molecular states of $D\bar{D}^{*}/\bar{D}D^{*}$, $B\bar{B}^{*}/\bar{B}B^{*}$, $DD^{*}$, $BB^{*}$, the pseudoscalar-vector systems with $C=B=1$ and $C=-B=1$ respectively. The "$δ$ function" term contribution and the S-D mixing effects have been taken into account. We find the conclusions reached after including the heavier mesons exchange are qualitatively the same as those in the one pion exchange model. The previous suggestion that $1^{++}$ $B\bar{B}^{*}/\bar{B}B^{*}$ molecule should exist, is confirmed in the one boson exchange model, whereas $DD^{*}$ bound state should not exist. The $D\bar{D}^{*}/\bar{D}D^{*}$ system can accomodate a $1^{++}$ molecule close to the threshold, the mixing between the molecule and the conventional charmonium has to be considered to identify this state with X(3872). For the $BB^{*}$ system, the pseudoscalar-vector systems with $C=B=1$ and $C=-B=1$, near threshold molecular states may exist. These bound states should be rather narrow, isospin is violated and the I=0 component is dominant. Experimental search channels for these states are suggested.

${\rm Z}^{+}(4430)$ and Analogous Heavy Flavor States

The proximity of ${\rm Z}^+(4430)$ to the ${\rm D^{*}\bar{D}_1}$ threshold suggests that it may be a ${\rm D^{*}\bar{D}_1}$ molecular state. The ${\rm D^{*}\bar{D}_1}$ system has been studied dynamically from quark model, and state mixing effect is taken into account by solving the multichannel Schr$\ddot{\rm o}$dinger equation numerically. We suggest the most favorable quantum number is ${\rm J^{P}=0^{-}}$, if future experiments confirm ${\rm Z}^+(4430)$ as a loosely bound molecule state. More precise measurements of ${\rm Z}^+(4430)$ mass and width, partial wave analysis are helpful to understand its structure. The analogous heavy flavor mesons ${\rm Z}^{+}_{bb}$ and ${\rm Z}^{++}_{bc}$ are studied as well, and the masses predicted in our model are in agreement with the predictions from potential model and QCD sum rule. We further apply our model to the ${\rm D\bar{D}^{*}}$ and ${\rm DD^{*}}$ system. We find the exotic ${\rm DD^{*}}$ bound molecule doesn't exist, while the $1^{++}$ ${\rm D\bar{D}^{*}}$ bound state solution can be found only if the screening mass $μ$ is smaller than 0.17 GeV. The state mixing effect between the molecular state and the conventional charmonium should be considered to understand the nature of X(3872).

Understanding light scalar meson by color-magnetic wavefunction in QCD sum rule

In this paper, we study the $0^{+}$ nonet mesons as tetraquark states with interpolating currents induced from the color-magnetic wavefunction. This wavefunction is the eigenfunction of effective color-magnetic Hamiltonian with the lowest eigenvalue, meaning that the state depicted by this wavefunction is the most stable one and is most probable to be observed in experiments. Our approach can be recognized as determining interpolating currents dynamically. We perform an OPE calculation up to dimension eight condensates and find that the best QCD sum rule is achived when the current induced from the color-magnetic wavefunction is a proper mixture of the tensor and pseudoscalar diquark-antidiquark bound states. Compared with previous results, to sigma(600) and kappa(800), our results appear better, due to larger pole contribution. The direct instanton contribution are also considered, which yields a consistent result with previous OPE results. Finally, we also discuss the eta' problem as a possible six-quark state.

Lepton flavor violating $μ\to eγ$ and $μ-e$ conversion in unparticle physics

We have studied lepton flavor violation processes $μ\to eγ$ and $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei induced by unparticle. Both ${\rm Br}(μ\to eγ)$ and $μ-e$ conversion rate ${\rm CR}(μ-e,{\rm Nuclei})$ strongly depend on the scale dimension $d_{\cal U}$ and the unparticle coupling $λ^{ff'}_{\rm K}$(K=V, A, S, P). Present experimental upper bounds on ${\rm Br}(μ\to eγ)$, ${\rm CR}(μ-e,{\rm Ti})$ and ${\rm CR}(μ-e,{\rm Au})$ put stringent constraints on the parameters of unaprticle physics. The scale dimensions $d_{\cal U}$ around 2 are favored for the unparticle scale $Λ_{\cal U}$ of ${\cal O}(10 {\rm TeV})$ and the unparticle coupling of ${\cal O}(10^{-3})$. ${\rm CR}(μ-e,{\rm Nuclei})$ is proportional to $\rm{Z^4_{eff}A^2/Z}$ for the pure vector and scalar couplings between unparticle and SM fermions, this peculiar atomatic number dependence can be used to distinguish unparticle from other theoretical models.

Hierarchy Construction of Quantum Hall States and Non-Commutative Chern-Simons Theory

In this paper, we study the non-commutative Chern-Simons description of the hierarchy of quantum Hall states. Our method is based on the framework suggested by Susskind in hep-th/0101029. By using the area preserving diffeomorphism gauge symmetry of quasiparticle fluid, we show that non-commutative Chern-Simons description of the hierarchy construction of quantum Hall states with generic filling fraction can be realized in Susskind's approach. The relationship between our model and the pervious work on the effective field theory of quantum Hall states is also discussed.

Signals of Unparticles in Low Energy Parity Violation and NuTeV Experiment

We have studied the possible signals of unparticle in atomic parity violation(APV) along an isotope chain and in the NuTeV experiment. The effects of unparticle physics could be observed in APV, if the uncertainty in relative neutron/proton radius shift $δ(Δ\frac{R_N}{R_P})$ is less than a few times $10^{-4}$ by measuring the parity violating electron scattering. The constraints imposed by NuTeV experiment on unparticle physics are discussed in detail. If the NuTeV results are confirmed by future experiments, we suggest that unparticle could account for a part of NuTeV anomaly. There exist certain regions for the unparticle parameters ($Λ_{\cal U}$, $d_{\cal U}$, $c_{V{\cal U}}$ and $c_{A{\cal U}}$), where the NuTeV discrepancy could be completely explained by unparticle effects and the strange quark asymmetry, even with or without the contributions from the isoscalarity violation etc. It is remarkable that these parameter regions are consistent with the constraints from $b\to sγ$

Canonical Charmonium Interpretation for Y(4360) and Y(4660)

In this work, we consider the canonical charmonium assignments for Y(4360) and Y(4660). Y(4660) is good candidate of $\rm 5 ^3S_1$ $c\bar{c}$ state, the possibility of Y(4360) as a $\rm 3 ^3D_1$ $c\bar{c}$ state is studied, and the charmonium hybrid interpretation of Y(4360) can not be excluded completely. We evaluate the $e^{+}e^{-}$ leptonic widths, E1 transitions, M1 transitions and the open flavor strong decays of Y(4360) and Y(4660). Experimental tests for the charmonium assignments are suggested.
