$(n,d)$-injective and $(n,d)$-flat modules under a special semidualizing bimodule

Let $S$ and $R$ be rings, $n, d\geq 0$ be two integers or $n=\infty$. In this paper, first we introduce special (faithfully) semidualizing bimodule $_S(K_{d-1})_R$, and then introduce and study the concepts of $K_{d-1}$-$(n,d)$-injective (resp. $K_{d-1}$-$(n,d)$-flat) modules as a common generalization of some known modules such as $C$-injective, $C$-weak injective and $C$-$FP_n$-injective (resp. $C$-flat, $C$-weak flat and $C$-$FP_n$-flat) modules. Then we obtain some characterizations of two classes of these modules, namely $\mathcal{I}_{K_{d-1}}^{(n,d)}(R)$ and $\mathcal{F}_{K_{d-1}}^{(n,d)}(S)$. We show that the cleasses $\mathcal{I}_{K_{d-1}}^{(n,d)}(R)$ and $\mathcal{F}_{K_{d-1}}^{(n,d)}(S)$ are covering and preenveloping. Also, we investigate Foxby equivalence relative to the classes of this modules. Finally over $n$-coherent rings, we prove that the classes $\mathcal{I}_{ K_{d-1}}^{(n,d)}(R)_{<\infty}$ and $\mathcal{F}_{ K_{d-1}}^{(n,d)}(S)_{<\infty}$ are closed under extentions, kernels of epimorphisms and cokernels of monomorphisms. Keywords: $K_{d-1}$-$(n,d)$-injective module; $K_{d-1}$-$(n,d)$-flat module; Foxby equivalence; special semidualizing bimodule.

Foxby equivalence relative to $C$-$fp_n$-injective and $C$-$fp_{n}$-flat modules

Let $R$ and $S$ be rings, $C= {}_SC_R$ a (faithfully) semidualizing bimodule, and $n$ a positive integer or $n=\infty$. In this paper, we introduce the concepts of $C$-$fp_n$-injective $R$-modules and $C$-$fp_n$-flat $S$-modules as a common generalization of some known modules such as $C$-$FP_{n}$-injective (resp. $C$-weak injective) $R$-modules and $C$-$FP_{n}$-flat (resp. $C$-weak flat) $S$-modules. Then we investigate $C$-$fp_{n}$-injective and $C$-$fp_{n}$-flat dimensions of modules, where the classes of these modules, namely $Cfp_nI(R)_{\leq k}$ and $Cfp_nF(S)_{\leq k}$, respectively. We study Foxby equivalence relative to these classes, and also the existence of $Cfp_nI(R)_{\leq k}$ and $Cfp_nF(S)_{\leq k}$ preenvelopes and covers. Finally, we study the exchange properties of these classes, as well as preenvelopes (resp. precovers) and Foxby equivalence, under almost excellent extensions of rings.

Category of n-weak injective and n-weak flat modules with respect to special super presented modules

Let $R$ be a ring and $n$, $k$ two non-negative integers. In this paper, we introduce the concepts of $n$-weak injective and $n$-weak flat modules and via the notion of special super finitely presented modules, we obtain some characterizations of these modules. We also investigate two classes of modules with richer contents, namely $\mathcal{WI}_k^n(R)$ and $\mathcal{WF}_k^n(R^{op})$ which are larger than that of modules with weak injective and weak flat dimensions less than or equal to $k$. Then on any arbitrary ring, we study the existence of $\mathcal{WI}_k^n(R)$ and $\mathcal{WF}_k^n(R^{op})$ covers and preenvelopes

Finite unitary rings with a single subgroup of prime order of the group of units

Let R be a unitary ring of finite cardinality P^k, where p is a prime number and $p\nmid k$. We show that if the group of units of $R$ has at most one subgroup of order $p$, then $R\cong A\bigoplus B,$ where $B$ is a finite ring of order $k$ and $A$ is a ring of cardinality $p^{\beta}$ which is one of the six explicitly described types.

n-gr-Coherent rings and Gorenstein graded modules

Let R be a graded ring and n > 1 an integer. In this paper, We introduce the notions of Ding n-gr-injective and Ding n-gr-flat modules by using of special finitely presented graded modules . Then, some properties of Ding n-gr-injective and Ding n-gr-flat modules are obtained. On n-gr-coherent rings, we investigate the relationships among Ding n-gr-injective and Ding n-gr-flat modules and also, we prove that any graded module in R-gr (resp. gr-R) admits an Ding n-gr-injective (resp. Ding n-gr-flat) cover and preenvelope.

Gorenstein n-X-injective and n-X-flat modules with respect to a special finitely presented module

Let R be a ring, X a class of R-modules and n>1 an integer. In this paper, via special finitely presented modules, we introduce the concepts of Gorenstein n-X-injective and n-X-flat modules. And aside, we obtain some equivalent properties of these modules on n-X-coherent rings. Then, we investigate the relations among Gorenstein n-X-injective, n-X-flat, injective and flat modules on X-FC-rings (i.e., self n-X-injective and n-X-coherent rings). Several known results are generalized to this new context

Relative coherent modules

Several authors have introduced various type of coherent-like rings and proved analogous results on these rings. It appears that all these relative coherent rings and all the used techniques can be unified. In [2], several coherent-like rings are unified. In this manuscript we continue this work and we introduce coherent-like module which also emphasizes our point of view by unifying the existed relative coherent concepts. Several classical results are generalized and some new results are given.

On the Gorensetein $(n,d)$-Flat and Gorensetein $(n,d)$-Injective Modules

Let R be a ring. In this paper, Gorenstein (n,d)-flat and (n,d)-Gorenstein (n,d)-injective modules and some of their basic properties are studied. Moreover, some characterizations of rings over Gorenstein (n,d)-flat and (n,d)-Gorenstein (n,d)-injective modules are given. Also, some known results can be obtained as corollaries

An iterative regularized mirror descent method for ill-posed nondifferentiable stochastic optimization

A wide range of applications arising in machine learning and signal processing can be cast as convex optimization problems. These problems are often ill-posed, i.e., the optimal solution lacks a desired property such as uniqueness or sparsity. In the literature, to address ill-posedness, a bilevel optimization problem is considered where the goal is to find among optimal solutions of the inner level optimization problem, a solution that minimizes a secondary metric, i.e., the outer level objective function. In addressing the resulting bilevel model, the convergence analysis of most existing methods is limited to the case where both inner and outer level objectives are differentiable deterministic functions. While these assumptions may not hold in big data applications, to the best of our knowledge, no solution method equipped with complexity analysis exists to address presence of uncertainty and nondifferentiability in both levels in this class of problems. Motivated by this gap, we develop a first-order method called Iterative Regularized Stochastic Mirror Descent (IR-SMD). We establish the global convergence of the iterate generated by the algorithm to the optimal solution of the bilevel problem in an almost sure and a mean sense. We derive a convergence rate of ${\cal O}\left(1/N^{0.5-\delta}\right)$ for the inner level problem, where $\delta>0$ is an arbitrary small scalar. Numerical experiments for solving two classes of bilevel problems, including a large scale binary text classification application, are presented.

Finite unitary ring with minimal non-nilpotent group of units

Let $R$ be a finite unitary ring such that $R=R_0[R^*]$ where $R_0$ is the prime ring and $R^*$ is not a nilpotent group. We show that if all proper subgroups of $R^*$ are nilpotent groups, then the cardinal of $R$ is a power of prime number 2. In addition, if $(R/Jac(R))^*$ is not a $p-$group, then either $R\cong M_2(GF(2))$ or $R\cong M_2(GF(2))\oplus A$ where $M_2(GF(2))$ is the ring of $2\times 2$ matrices over the finite field $GF(2)$ and $A$ is a direct sum of finite field $GF(2)$.

An Iterative Regularized Incremental Projected Subgradient Method for a Class of Bilevel Optimization Problems

We study a class of bilevel convex optimization problems where the goal is to find the minimizer of an objective function in the upper level, among the set of all optimal solutions of an optimization problem in the lower level. A wide range of problems in convex optimization can be formulated using this class. An important example is the case where an optimization problem is ill-posed. In this paper, our interest lies in addressing the bilevel problems, where the lower level objective is given as a finite sum of separate nondifferentiable convex component functions. This is the case in a variety of applications in distributed optimization, such as large-scale data processing in machine learning and neural networks. To the best of our knowledge, this class of bilevel problems, with a finite sum in the lower level, has not been addressed before. Motivated by this gap, we develop an iterative regularized incremental subgradient method, where the agents update their iterates in a cyclic manner using a regularized subgradient. Under a suitable choice of the regularization parameter sequence, we establish the convergence of the proposed algorithm and derive a rate of $\mathcal{O} \left({1}/k^{0.5-\epsilon}\right)$ in terms of the lower level objective function for an arbitrary small $\epsilon>0$. We present the performance of the algorithm on a binary text classification problem.
