Comparison results for positive supermodular dependent Markov tree distributions

Positive dependencies have been compared in the literature under rather strong assumptions such as equality of conditional distributions, exchangeability, or stationarity. We establish supermodular ordering results for distributions that are Markov with respect to a tree structure. Our comparison results rely on simple stochastic monotonicity conditions and a pointwise ordering of bivariate copulas associated with the edges of the underlying tree. We also study flexibility of the marginal distributions in stochastic and convex order. As a consequence, we obtain first- and second-order stochastic dominance esults for extreme order statistics and sums of positively dependent random variables. As an application, we investigate distributional robustness of the maximum of a perturbed random walk under model uncertainty. Several examples and a detailed discussion of the assumptions demonstrate the generality of our results and reveal deeper insights into non-intuitive positive dependence properties of multidimensional distributions.

Set-valued propagation of chaos for controlled path-dependent McKean-Vlasov SPDEs

We develop a limit theory for controlled path-dependent mean field stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) within the semigroup approach of Da Prato and Zabczyk. More precisely, we prove existence results for mean field limits and particle approximations, and we establish set-valued propagation of chaos in the sense that we show convergence of sets of empirical distributions to sets of mean field limits in the Hausdorff metric topology. Furthermore, we discuss consequences of our results to stochastic optimal control. As another application, we deduce a propagation of chaos result for Peng's $G$-Brownian motion with drift interaction.

Robust asymptotic insurance-finance arbitrage

In most cases, insurance contracts are linked to the financial markets, such as through interest rates or equity-linked insurance products. To motivate an evaluation rule in these hybrid markets, Artzner et al. (2022) introduced the notion of insurance-finance arbitrage. In this paper we extend their setting by incorporating model uncertainty. To this end, we allow statistical uncertainty in the underlying dynamics to be represented by a set of priors $\mathscr{P}$. Within this framework we introduce the notion of robust asymptotic insurance-finance arbitrage and characterize the absence of such strategies in terms of the concept of ${Q}\mathscr{P}$-evaluations. This is a nonlinear two-step evaluation which guarantees no robust asymptotic insurance-finance arbitrage. Moreover, the ${Q}\mathscr{P}$-evaluation dominates all two-step evaluations as long as we agree on the set of priors $\mathscr{P}$ which shows that those two-step evaluations do not allow for robust asymptotic insurance-finance arbitrages. Furthermore, we introduce a doubly stochastic model under uncertainty for surrender and survival. In this setting, we describe conditional dependence by means of copulas and illustrate how the ${Q}\mathscr{P}$-evaluation can be used for the pricing of hybrid insurance products.

On a Theorem by A.S. Cherny for Semilinear Stochastic Partial Differential Equations

We consider analytically weak solutions to semilinear stochastic partial differential equations with non-anticipating coefficients driven by cylindrical Brownian motion. The solutions are allowed to take values in general separable Banach spaces. We show that weak uniqueness is equivalent to weak joint uniqueness, and thereby generalize a theorem by A.S. Cherny to an infinite dimensional setting. Our proof for the technical key step is different from Cherny's and uses cylindrical martingale problems. As an application, we deduce a dual version of the Yamada-Watanabe theorem, i.e. we show that strong existence and weak uniqueness imply weak existence and strong uniqueness.
