Reduced superblocks at next-to-next-to-extremality for all half-maximally supersymmetric CFTs

We consider mixed four-point correlators of 1/2-BPS operators $\phi_{k}$ in SCFTs with eight real Poincar\'e supercharges, namely the 3d $\mathcal{N}=4$, 4d $\mathcal{N}=2$, 5d $\mathcal{N}=1$, and 6d $\mathcal{N}=(1,0)$ theories. Using the basis of solutions to the superconformal Ward identity introduced in arXiv:hep-th/0405180, we demonstrate that the dynamical data in mixed correlators of extremality $\mathcal{E}=2$ is encoded in certain simpler ``reduced correlator" functions that admit a block expansion, in close analogy to the recent result for maximally supersymmetric CFTs in arXiv:2601.15407. These reduced blocks similarly involve ordinary blocks with shifted kinematics and reproduce what is known in 4d, generalize a known example in 6d, and offer novel results in 3d and 5d.

Reduced superblocks at next-to-next-to-extremality for all maximally supersymmetric CFTs

We consider mixed four-point correlators of 1/2-BPS operators $\mathcal{O}_{k}$ in the maximally supersymmetric CFTs, i.e. the 3d $\mathcal{N}=8$, 4d $\mathcal{N}=4$, and 6d $\mathcal{N}=(2,0)$ theories. In arXiv:hep-th/0405180, Dolan, Gallot, and Sokatchev demonstrated that four-point correlators of identical $\mathcal{O}_{k}$ in these SCFTs can be expressed in terms of a number of unconstrained one- and two-variable ``reduced correlator" functions acted on by a $2(\varepsilon-1)$nd order differential operator $\Delta_\varepsilon$, which is non-local in odd dimensions $d=2(\varepsilon+1)$. We generalize this construction to mixed correlators $\langle \mathcal{O}_{k_1}\mathcal{O}_{k_2}\mathcal{O}_{k_3}\mathcal{O}_{k_1+k_2+k_3-2\mathcal{E}}\rangle$ up to extremality $\mathcal{E}=2$. To construct superconformal blocks, we generalize the R-symmetry channel equations and use Jack polynomial expansions to recursively generate the full spectrum of conformal blocks in a superblock from a single channel. We observe that for each $\varepsilon$, this channel equation can be inverted to expand the reduced correlators in ``reduced superblocks" involving blocks with shifted external kinematics. These reduced blocks reproduce what is known in 4d, generalize the known $\langle \mathcal{O}_{2}\mathcal{O}_{2}\mathcal{O}_{k}\mathcal{O}_{k}\rangle$ case in 6d, and offer a novel result in 3d.

The $\mathcal{W}$-algebra bootstrap of 6d $\mathcal{N}=(2,0)$ theories

6d (2,0) SCFTs of type $\mathfrak{g}$ have protected subsectors that were conjectured in arxiv:1404.1079 to be captured by $\mathcal{W}_\mathfrak{g}$ algebras. We write down the crossing equations for mixed four-point functions $\langle S_{k_1} S_{k_2}S_{k_3}S_{k_4}\rangle$ of 1/2-BPS operators $S_{k_i}$ in 6d (2,0) theories and detail how a certain twist reduces this system to a 2d meromorphic CFT multi-correlator bootstrap problem. We identify the relevant 6d (2,0) $\mathcal{W}$-algebras of type $\mathfrak{g} = \{A_{N-1},D_N\}$ as truncations of $\mathcal{W}_{1+\infty}$ and solve OPE associativity conditions for their structure constants, both using $\texttt{OPEdefs}$ and the holomorphic bootstrap of arxiv:1503.07111. With this, we solve the multi-correlator bootstrap for twisted 6d four-point correlators $\mathcal{F}_{k_1k_2k_3k_4}$ involving all $S_{k_i}$ up to $\{k_i\}=4$ and extract closed-form expressions for 6d OPE coefficients. We describe the implications of our CFT data on conformal Regge trajectories of the (2,0) theories and finally, demonstrate the consistency of our results with protected higher-derivative corrections to graviton scattering in M-theory on $AdS_7\times S^4/\mathbb{Z}_\mathfrak{o}$.
