Equivariant Satake category and Kostant-Whittaker reduction

We explain (following V. Drinfeld) how the equivariant derived category of the affine Grassmannian can be described in terms of coherent sheaves on the Langlands dual Lie algebra equivariant with respect to the adjoint action, due to some old results of V. Ginzburg. The global cohomology functor corresponds under this identification to restricti on to the Kostant slice. We extend this description to loop rotation equivariant derived category, linking it to Harish-Chandra bimodules for the Langlands dual Lie algebra, so that the global cohomology functor corresponds to the quantum Kostant-Whittaker reduction of a Harish-Chandra bimodule. We derive a conjecture from math.AG/0306413 which identifies the loop-rotation equivariant homology of the affine Grassmannian with quantized completed Toda lattice.

Relative Langlands duality and Koszul duality

Consider a pair of $S$-dual hyperspherical varieties $G\circlearrowright X$ and $G^\vee\circlearrowright X^\vee$ equipped with equivariant quantizations $Q(X)$, $Q(X^\vee)$. Assume that the local conjecture of Ben-Zvi, Sakellaridis and Venkatesh holds for this pair, and also that $X\simeq T^*_ψ(Y)$ is polarized, so that $Q(X)=D_ψ(Y)$. Let $B\subset G$ (resp. $B^\vee\subset G^\vee$) be Borel subgroups. Then using a variant of the $S^1$-equivariant localization of arxiv:0706.0322, we deduce an equivalence between the ${\mathbb Z}/2$-graded $B$-equivariant category $(D_ψ(Y)\operatorname{-mod}^B)^{{\mathbb Z}/2}$ and the ${\mathbb Z}/2$-graded unipotent $B^\vee$-monodromic category $(Q(X^\vee)\operatorname{-mod}^{B^\vee,\operatorname{mon}})^{{\mathbb Z}/2}$.

Equivariant ($K$-)homology of affine Grassmannian and Toda lattice

For an almost simple complex algebraic group $G$ with affine Grassmannian $Gr_G= G(C((t)))/G(C[[t]])$ we consider the equivariant homology $H^{G(C[[t]])}(Gr_G)$, and $K$-theory $K^{G(C[[t]])}(Gr_G)$. They both have a commutative ring structure, with respect to convolution. We identify the spectrum of homology ring with the universal group-algebra centralizer of the Langlands dual group $\check G$, and we relate the spectrum of $K$-homology ring to the universal group-group centralizer of $G$ and of $\check G$. If we add the loop-rotation equivariance, we obtain a noncommutative deformation of the ($K$)-homology ring, and thus a Poisson structure on its spectrum. We identify this structure with the standard one on the universal centralizer. The commutative subring of $G(C[[t]])$-equivariant homology of the point gives rise to a polarization which is related to Kostant's Toda lattice integrable system. We also compute the equivariant $K$-ring of the affine Grassmannian Steinberg variety. The equivariant $K$-homology of $Gr_G$ is equipped with a canonical base formed by the classes of simple equivariant perverse coherent sheaves. Their convolution is again perverse and is related to the Feigin-Loktev fusion product of $G(C[[t]])$-modules.

Mirabolic affine Grassmannian and character sheaves

We compute the Frobenius trace functions of mirabolic character sheaves defined over a finite field. The answer is given in terms of the character values of general linear groups over the finite field, and the structure constants of multiplication in the mirabolic Hall-Littlewood basis of symmetric functions, introduced by Shoji.

Modular reduction of complex representations of finite reductive groups

The main result describes the Brauer-Nesbitt reduction of unipotent representations of a finite group of Lie type, expressing it as an explicit linear combination of the restriction of Weyl modules from the algebraic group to the group of $\mathbb{F}_q$ points. This partly confirms Lusztig's conjecture (2021), which was the main source of motivation for this work. The explicit virtual representations of the algebraic group come from a certain endomorphism of the space ${\mathbb Z}[T]$ of regular functions on the torus which approximates pullback under Frobenius and is linear over the ring ${\mathbb Z}[T]^W$ of $W$-invariant functions. This endomorphism is constructed from a new basis for ${\mathbb Z}[T]$ over ${\mathbb Z}[T]^W$ which we call the Kazhdan-Lusztig-Steinberg basis. We compare this basis to the canonical basis appearing in the study of modular representations of the algebraic group and the related noncommutative Springer resolution. This leads to canonically defined objects in the derived category of $G$-modules representing the above virtual representations and to a geometric interpretation for the resulting lift of the principal series representation $\overline{\mathbb{F}_q} [G/P(\mathbb{F}_q)]$ to a virtual representation of the algebraic group, which comes from a decomposition of diagonal in the equivariant Grothendieck group of the partial flag variety.

Relative Langlands duality for $\mathfrak{osp}(2n + 1|2n)$

We establish an $S$-duality converse to the one studied by the 1st, 2nd and 4th authors; this is also a case of a twisted version of the relative Langlands duality of Ben Zvi, Sakellaridis and Venkatesh.. Namely, we prove that the $S$-dual of $\text{SO}(2n+1)\times \text{Sp}(2n)$ acting on the tensor product of their tautological representations is the symplectic mirabolic space $\text{Sp}(2n)\times\text{Sp}(2n)$ acting on the product $T^* \text{Sp}(2n)$ and the tautological representations of $\text{Sp}(2n)$. (Note that due to the anomaly, the dual of the second factor $\text{Sp}(2n)$ is the metaplectic dual, i.e. $\text{Sp}(2n)$). We also formulate the corresponding global conjecture, which describes explicitly the categorical theta-correspondence on the Langlands dual side.

Coulomb branches of noncotangent type (with appendices by Gurbir Dhillon and Theo Johnson-Freyd)

We propose a construction of the Coulomb branch of a $3d\ {\mathcal N}=4$ gauge theory corresponding to a choice of a connected reductive group $G$ and a symplectic finite-dimensional reprsentation $\mathbf M$ of $G$, satisfying certain anomaly cancellation condition. This extends the construction of arXiv:1601.03586 (where it was assumed that ${\mathbf M}={\mathbf N}\oplus{\mathbf N}^*$ for some representation $\mathbf N$ of $G$). Our construction goes through certain "universal" ring object in the twisted derived Satake category of the symplectic group $Sp(2n)$. The construction of this object uses a categorical version of the Weil representation; we also compute the image of this object under the (twisted) derived Satake equivalence and show that it can be obtained from the theta-sheaf introduced by S.Lysenko on $\operatorname{Bun}_{Sp(2n)}({\mathbb P}^1)$ via certain Radon transform. We also discuss applications of our construction to a potential mathematical construction of $S$-duality for super-symmetric boundary conditions in 4-dimensional gauge theory and to (some extension of) the conjectures of D.Ben-Zvi, Y.Sakellaridis and A.Venkatesh.

Lagrangian subvarieties of hyperspherical varieties

Given a hyperspherical $G$-variety $\mathscr X$ we consider the zero moment level $Λ_{\mathscr X}\subset{\mathscr X}$ of the action of a Borel subgroup $B\subset G$. We conjecture that $Λ_{\mathscr X}$ is Lagrangian. For the dual $G^\vee$-variety ${\mathscr X}^\vee$, we conjecture that that there is a bijection between the sets of irreducible components $\mathrm{Irr}Λ_{\mathscr X}$ and $\mathrm{Irr}Λ_{{\mathscr X}^\vee}$. We check this conjecture for all the hyperspherical equivariant slices, and for all the basic classical Lie superalgebras.

Gaiotto conjecture for $Rep_q(GL(N-1|N))$

We prove D.Gaiotto's conjecture about geometric Satake equivalence for quantum supergroup $U_q({\mathfrak{gl}}(N-1|N))$ for generic $q$. The equivalence goes through the category of factorizable sheaves.

Orthosymplectic Satake equivalence, II

This is a companion paper of arXiv:1909.11492 and arXiv:1912.01930. We prove an equivalence relating representations of a degenerate orthosymplectic supergroup with the category of twisted $Sp(2n,{\mathbb C}[\![t]\!])$-equivariant $D$-modules on the so called mirabolic affine Grassmannian of $Sp(2n)$. We also discuss (conjectural) extension of this equivalence to the case of quantum supergroups and to some exceptional supergroups.

Gaiotto Conjecture for $\mathrm{Rep}_q(\mathrm{F}(4))$

This paper is a part of the series proving the Gaiotto conjecture for basic classical quantum supergroups. The previous part arXiv:2107.02653 [math.RT] , arXiv:2306.09556 [math.RT], proved the Gaiotto conjecture for the general linear quantum supergroups $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}(N|M))$. Here we deal with the exceptional quantum supergroup $U_q(\mathfrak{f}(4))$.

Drinfeld-Gaitsgory-Vinberg interpolation Grassmannian and geometric Satake equivalence (with appendix by Dennis Gaitsgory)

Let $G$ be a reductive complex algebraic group. We fix a pair of opposite Borel subgroups and consider the corresponding semiinfinite orbits in the affine Grassmannian $Gr_G$. We prove Simon Schieder's conjecture identifying his bialgebra formed by the top compactly supported cohomology of the intersections of opposite semiinfinite orbits with $U(\check{\mathfrak n})$ (the universal enveloping algebra of the positive nilpotent subalgebra of the Langlands dual Lie algebra $\check{\mathfrak g}$). To this end we construct an action of Schieder bialgebra on the geometric Satake fiber functor. We propose a conjectural construction of Schieder bialgebra for an arbitrary symmetric Kac-Moody Lie algebra in terms of Coulomb branch of the corresponding quiver gauge theory.

Coherent IC-sheaves on type $A_{n}$ affine Grassmannians and dual canonical basis of affine type $A_{1}$

The convolution ring $K^{GL_n(\mathcal{O})\rtimes\mathbb{C}^\times}(\mathrm{Gr}_{GL_n})$ was identified with a quantum unipotent cell of the loop group $LSL_2$ in [Cautis-Williams, J. Amer. Math. Soc. 32 (2019), pp. 709-778]. We identify the basis formed by the classes of irreducible equivariant perverse coherent sheaves with the dual canonical basis of the quantum unipotent cell.

A fusion construction of local L-factors

We propose a new conjectural way to calculate the local $L$-factor $L=L_χ(π,ρ,s)$ where $π$ is a representation of a $p$-adic group $G$, $ρ$ is an algebraic representation of the dual group $G^{\vee}$ and $χ$ is an algebraic character of $G$ satisfying a positivity condition. A method going back to Godement and Jacquet yields a description of $L$ using as an input a certain space ${\mathcal S}_ρ$ of functions on $G$ depending on $ρ$. A (partly conjectural) description of ${\mathcal S}_ρ$ involving trace of Frobenius functions associated to perverse sheaves on the loop space of a semigroup containing $G$ was developed %by Bouthier, Ngo and Sakellaridis, partly based on an earlier work of Braverman and Kazhdan. Here we propose a different, more general conjectural description of ${\mathcal S}_ρ$: it also refers to trace of Frobenius functions but instead of the loop space of a semi-group we work with the ramified global Grassmannian fibering over the configuration space of points on a global curve defined by Beilinson-Drinfeld and Gaitsgory (a relation between two approaches is discussed in the appendix). Our main result asserts validity of our conjectures where $π$ is generated by an Iwahori fixed vector: we show that in this case it is compatible with the standard formula for $L$ involving local Langlands correspondence which is known for such representations $π$. The proof is based on properties of the coherent realization of the affine Hecke category.

Ring objects in the equivariant derived Satake category arising from Coulomb branches (with an appendix by Gus Lonergan)

This is the second companion paper of arXiv:1601.03586. We consider the morphism from the variety of triples introduced in arXiv:1601.03586 to the affine Grassmannian. The direct image of the dualizing complex is a ring object in the equivariant derived category on the affine Grassmannian (equivariant derived Satake category). We show that various constructions in arXiv:1601.03586 work for an arbitrary commutative ring object. The second purpose of this paper is to study Coulomb branches associated with star shaped quivers, which are expected to be conjectural Higgs branches of $3d$ Sicilian theories in type $A$ by arXiv:1007.0992.

Towards a mathematical definition of Coulomb branches of $3$-dimensional $\mathcal N=4$ gauge theories, II

Consider the $3$-dimensional $\mathcal N=4$ supersymmetric gauge theory associated with a compact Lie group $G_c$ and its quaternionic representation $\mathbf M$. Physicists study its Coulomb branch, which is a noncompact hyper-Kähler manifold with an $\mathrm{SU}(2)$-action, possibly with singularities. We give a mathematical definition of the Coulomb branch as an affine algebraic variety with $\mathbb C^\times$-action when $\mathbf M$ is of a form $\mathbf N\oplus\mathbf N^*$, as the second step of the proposal given in arXiv:1503.03676.
