Secure Multi-Path Routing with All-or-Nothing Transform for Network-on-Chip Architectures

Ensuring Network-on-Chip (NoC) security is crucial to design trustworthy NoC-based System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures. While there are various threats that exploit on-chip communication vulnerabilities, eavesdropping attacks via malicious nodes are among the most common and stealthy. Although encryption can secure packets for confidentiality, it may introduce unacceptable overhead for resource-constrained SoCs. In this paper, we propose a lightweight confidentiality-preserving framework that utilizes a quasi-group based All-Or-Nothing Transform (AONT) combined with secure multi-path routing in NoC-based SoCs. By applying AONT to each packet and distributing its transformed blocks across multiple non-overlapping routes, we ensure that no intermediate router can reconstruct the original data without all blocks. Extensive experimental evaluation demonstrates that our method effectively mitigates eavesdropping attacks by malicious routers with negligible area and performance overhead. Our results also reveal that AONT-based multi-path routing can provide 7.3x reduction in overhead compared to traditional encryption for securing against eavesdropping attacks.

Local equivalence of some maximally symmetric $(2,3,5)$-distributions III: An-Nurowski surface rolling on a plane

We consider the maximally symmetric $(2,3,5)$-distribution given by the An-Nurowski circle twistor bundle over the product of an An-Nurowski surface and the plane. This circle twistor distribution encodes the configuration space of an An-Nurowski surface rolling without slipping or twisting on the plane. We calculate the vector fields associated to this maximally symmetric $(2,3,5)$-distribution that define a split $\frak{g}_2$ Lie algebra and by projection we obtain an action of $SL(3,\mathbb{R})$ on the submanifold $\mathbb{R}^2\times \mathbb{S}^1$ (the configuration space without a surface).

Local equivalence of some maximally symmetric $(2,3,5)$-distributions II

We show the change of coordinates that maps the maximally symmetric $(2,3,5)$-distribution given by solutions to the $k=\frac{2}{3}$ and $k=\frac{3}{2}$ generalised Chazy equation to the flat Cartan distribution. This establishes the local equivalence between the maximally symmetric $k=\frac{2}{3}$ and $k=\frac{3}{2}$ generalised Chazy distribution and the flat Cartan or Hilbert-Cartan distribution. We give the set of vector fields parametrised by solutions to the $k=\frac{2}{3}$ and $k=\frac{3}{2}$ generalised Chazy equation and the corresponding Ricci-flat conformal scale that bracket-generate to give the split real form of $\frak{g}_2$.

Local equivalence of some maximally symmetric $(2,3,5)$-distributions

Using a complex parametrisation of $su(2)$, we show a change of coordinates that maps the maximally symmetric rolling $(2,3,5)$-distribution to the flat Cartan distribution. This establishes the local equivalence between the maximally symmetric rolling model and the flat Cartan or Hilbert-Cartan distribution. For the maximally symmetric rolling distribution, we write down the vector fields that bracket-generate to give the split real form of the Lie algebra of $\frak{g}_2$, with two of the vector fields in the bracket-generating set given by the span of the rolling distribution.

A Monge normal form for the rolling distribution

Using a parametrisation of $sl_2$ given by the second prolongation of the group action of unimodular fractional linear transformations as presented in an article of Clarkson and Olver, we find a Monge normal form describing the rolling of two hyperboloid surfaces over each other.

Nurowski's conformal class of a maximally symmetric (2,3,5)-distribution and its Ricci-flat representatives

We show that the solutions to the second-order differential equation associated to the generalised Chazy equation with parameters $k=2$ and $k=3$ naturally show up in the conformal rescaling that takes a representative metric in Nurowski's conformal class associated to a maximally symmetric $(2,3,5)$-distribution (described locally by a certain function $\varphi(x,q)=\frac{q^2}{H''(x)}$) to a Ricci-flat one.

Automorphisms and transformations of solutions to the generalised Chazy equation for various parameters

We analyse the automorphisms of solutions to Chazy's equation and the generalised Chazy equation for the parameters $k=2,3,4$ and $9$. These automorphisms are induced by triangular domains with isosceles symmetry. We also prove theorems about the transformations of solutions to the generalised Chazy equation between various different parameters. Using the transformation of solutions between parameters $k=2$ and $k=\frac{2}{3}$, we are able to prove a result about the automorphism of the solutions to the $k=\frac{2}{3}$ generalised Chazy equation.

Automorphism of solutions to Ramanujan's differential equations and other results

In part one we prove a theorem about the automorphism of solutions to Ramanujan's differential equations. We also investigate possible applications of the result. In part two we prove a similar theorem about the automorphism of solutions to the first-order system of differential equations associated to the generalised Chazy equation with parameter $k=\frac{3}{2}$.

Local equivalence of some maximally symmetric rolling distributions and $SU(2)$ Pfaffian systems

We give a description of Nurowski's conformal structure for some examples of bracket-generating rank 2 distributions in dimension 5, aka $(2,3,5)$-distributions, namely the An-Nurowski circle twistor distribution for pairs of surfaces of constant Gauss curvature rolling without slipping or twisting over each other. In the case of hyperboloid surfaces whose curvature ratios give maximally symmetric $(2,3,5)$-distributions, we find the change of coordinates that map the conformal structure to the flat metric of Engel. We also consider a rank $3$ Pfaffian system in dimension 5 with $SU(2)$ symmetry obtained by rotating two of the 1-forms in the Pfaffian system of the spheres rolling distribution, and discuss complexifications of such distributions.

Three dimensional near-horizon metrics that are Einstein-Weyl

We investigate which three dimensional near-horizon metrics $g_{NH}$ admit a compatible 1-form $X$ such that $(X, [g_{NH}])$ defines an Einstein-Weyl structure. We find explicit examples and see that some of the solutions give rise to Einstein-Weyl structures of dispersionless KP type and dispersionless Hirota (aka hyperCR) type.

Schwarz triangle functions and duality for certain parameters of the generalised Chazy equation

Schwarz triangle functions play a fundamental role in the solutions of the generalised Chazy equation. Chazy has shown that for the parameters $k=2$ and $3$, the equations can be linearised. We determine the Schwarz triangle functions that represent the solutions in these cases. Some of these Schwarz triangle functions also show up in the dual cases where $k=\frac{2}{3}$ and $k=\frac{3}{2}$, which suggests intriguing connections between the solutions for $k=2$ and $k=3$ with dihedral and tetrahedral symmetry respectively, and $k=\frac{2}{3}, \frac{3}{2}$ with $G_2$ symmetry. Integrating the solutions when $k=\frac{2}{3}$, we obtain flat $(2,3,5)$-distributions parametrised algebraically by the corresponding Schwarz triangle functions. The Legendre dual of these curves are also algebraic, can be computed quite easily and are related to the integral curves of the dual generalised Chazy equation with parameter $\frac{3}{2}$.

Flat $(2,3,5)$-Distributions and Chazy's Equations

In the geometry of generic 2-plane fields on 5-manifolds, the local equivalence problem was solved by Cartan who also constructed the fundamental curvature invariant. For generic 2-plane fields or $(2,3,5)$-distributions determined by a single function of the form $F(q)$, the vanishing condition for the curvature invariant is given by a 6$^{\rm th}$ order nonlinear ODE. Furthermore, An and Nurowski showed that this ODE is the Legendre transform of the 7$^{\rm th}$ order nonlinear ODE described in Dunajski and Sokolov. We show that the 6$^{\rm th}$ order ODE can be reduced to a 3$^{\rm rd}$ order nonlinear ODE that is a generalised Chazy equation. The 7$^{\rm th}$ order ODE can similarly be reduced to another generalised Chazy equation, which has its Chazy parameter given by the reciprocal of the former. As a consequence of solving the related generalised Chazy equations, we obtain additional examples of flat $(2,3,5)$-distributions not of the form $F(q)=q^m$. We also give 4-dimensional split signature metrics where their twistor distributions via the An-Nurowski construction have split $G_2$ as their group of symmetries.

Generalised Ricci Solitons

We introduce a class of overdetermined systems of partial differential equations of finite type on (pseudo)-Riemannian manifolds that we call the generalised Ricci soliton equations. These equations depend on three real parameters. For special values of the parameters they specialise to various important classes of equations in differential geometry. Among them there are: the Ricci soliton equations, the vacuum near-horizon geometry equations in general relativity, special cases of Einstein-Weyl equations and their projective counterparts, equations for homotheties and Killing's equation. We also prolong the generalised Ricci soliton equations and, by computing differential constraints, we find a number of necessary conditions for a (pseudo)-Riemannian manifold $(M, g)$ to locally admit non-trivial solutions to the generalised Ricci soliton equations in dimensions 2 and 3. The paper provides also a collection of explicit examples of generalised Ricci solitons in dimensions 2 and 3 (in some cases).

The conformal-to-Einstein equation on M\"obius surfaces

On a conformal manifold, it is well known that parallel sections of the standard tractor bundle with non-vanishing scale are in 1-1 correspondence with solutions of the conformal Einstein equation. In 2 dimensions conformal geometry carries no local information but one can remedy this by equipping the surface with a M\"obius structure. The conformal Einstein equation is then a well defined overdetermined system of linear PDEs on the M\"obius surface. It turns out however that an additional term involving curvature in the form of the Cotton-York tensor appears in the prolongation of the conformal Einstein equation in 2-dimensions, in contrast to the higher dimensional setting. We establish a 1-1 correspondence between solutions of the conformal Einstein equation on M\"obius surfaces with non-vanishing scale and parallel sections of the modified standard tractor connection called the prolongation connection. We also discuss the consequence of this in deriving local obstructions, and also obtain (partial) results on the possible dimensions of the kernel space of the conformal-to-Einstein operator on M\"obius surfaces.

Local obstructions to projective surfaces admitting skew-symmetric Ricci tensor

The equation determining whether a projective structure admits a connection in its given projective class that has skew-symmetric Ricci tensor is an overdetermined system of semi-linear partial differential equations which we call the projective Einstein-Weyl (pEW) equation. In 2-dimensions, we give local obstructions for projective surfaces to admit such a connection in its projective class. The obstructions are the resultants of polynomial equations that have to be satisfied for there to admit any pEW solution.

Local obstructions to a conformally invariant equation on M\"obius surfaces

On a M\"obius surface, as defined by D. Calderbank, we study a variant of the Einstein-Weyl (EW) equation which we call scalar-flat M\"obius EW (sf-MEW). This is a conformally invariant, finite type, overdetermined system of semi-linear partial differential equations. We derive local algebraic constraints for this equation to admit a solution and give local obstructions. In the generic case when a certain invariant of the M\"obius structure given by a symmetric tensor $M_{ab}$ is non-zero, the obstructions are given by resultants of 3 polynomial equations whose coefficients are conformal invariants of the M\"obius structure. The vanishing of the resultants is a necessary condition for there to be solutions to sf-MEW.
