Hypersurfaces of six-dimensional nearly K\"ahler manifolds

In the context of six-dimensional homogeneous nearly K\"ahler manifolds, we prove that $\mathbb S^6$ is the only ambient space admitting constant sectional curvature hypersurfaces. In order to do so, we prove first that in $\mathbb S^3\times\mathbb S^3$, $\mathbb C P^3$ and $F(\mathbb C^3)$, any hypersurface with constant sectional curvature is $\eta$-quasi umbilical, where $\eta$ is the dual one-form of the Reeb vector field. Then, we use the non-existence of such hypersurfaces in these spaces. Additionally, we characterize hypersurfaces of six-dimensional nearly K\"ahler manifolds which are Sasakian, nearly Sasakian, co-K\"ahler and nearly cosymplectic.

Isometry groups of nearly K\"ahler manifolds

Through the means of an alternative and less algebraic method, an explicit expression for the isometry groups of the six-dimensional homogeneous nearly K\"ahler manifolds is provided.

Extrinsically homogeneous Lagrangian submanifolds of the pseudo-nearly Kähler $\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})\times\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})$

We consider the pseudo-nearly Kähler $\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})\times\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})$ and we study its Lagrangian submanifolds. We provide examples of Lagrangian submanifolds which do not have an analogue in $\mathbb{S}^3\times\mathbb{S}^3$. We also provide an expression for the isometry group of $\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})\times\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})$ with the pseudo-Riemannian nearly Kähler metric. The main result is a complete classification of extrinsically homogeneous Lagrangian submanifolds in this space.

Totally geodesic Lagrangian submanifolds of the pseudo-nearly Kähler $\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})\times\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})$

In this paper, we study Lagrangian submanifolds of the pseudo-nearly Kähler $\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})\times\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})$. First, we show that they split into four different classes depending on their behaviour with respect to a certain almost product structure on the ambient space. Then, we give a complete classification of totally geodesic Lagrangian submanifolds of this space.

Infinitesimally helicoidal motions with fixed pitch of oriented geodesics of a space form

Let L be the manifold of all (unparametrized) oriented lines of R^3. We study the controllability of the control system in L given by the condition that a curve in L describes at each instant, at the infinitesimal level, an helicoid with prescribed angular speed alpha. Actually, we pose the analogous more general problem by means of a control system on the manifold G_kappa of all the oriented complete geodesics of the three dimensional space form of curvature kappa: R^3 for kappa = 0, S^3 for kappa = 1 and hyperbolic 3-space for kappa = -1. We obtain that the system is controllable if and only if alpha ^2 not equal kappa. In the spherical case with alpha = (+/-) 1, an admissible curve remains in the set of fibers of a fixed Hopf fibration of S^3. We also address and solve a sort of Kendall's (aka Oxford) problem in this setting: Finding the minimum number of switches of piecewise continuous curves joininig two arbitrary oriented lines, with pieces in some distinguished families of admissible curves.
