Interlayer-engineering of Charge Order Wave Vector in Kagome Metals

Charge orders in the kagome metals AV$_3$Sb$_5$ sit at the center of a rich phase diagram that also includes superconductivity, nematicity, and signatures of time-reversal-symmetry breaking. Yet even the basic question of which charge ordering wave vectors are intrinsic, and which are selected by dimensionality and lattice coupling, remains unsettled. Importantly, the microscopic origin of different charge orders and, in particular, the relationship between the robust bulk $2 \times 2$ charge order and the controversial $4 \times 1$ modulation, which is primarily resolved by surface probes, remains unresolved. Here, we use first-principles calculations to study the role of interlayer coupling in CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ by tuning the interlayer separation from the monolayer limit to the bulk limit. In the monolayer AV$_3$Sb$_5$ (A = Rb, Cs), the phonon spectrum exhibits no instability at the M point; instead, the dominant lattice instability occurs at q = (1/4, 0, 0), consistent with a $4 \times 1$ modulation. As interlayer coupling increases in CsV$_3$Sb$_5$, an M-point phonon progressively softens and becomes unstable already near c = 12.24 \r{A}, evolving into the strong $2 \times 2$ instability characteristic of the bulk. These results identify interlayer coupling as a control parameter at a fixed stoichiometry that links competing $4 \times 1$ and $2 \times 2$ tendencies, providing a unified framework for understanding why multiple charge-order wave vectors coexist and compete in kagome metals.

Infrastructure Patterns in Toll Scam Domains: A Comprehensive Analysis of Cybercriminal Registration and Hosting Strategies

Toll scams involve criminals registering fake domains that pretend to be legitimate transportation agencies to trick users into making fraudulent payments. Although these scams are rapidly increasing and causing significant harm, they have not been extensively studied. We present the first large-scale analysis of toll scam domains, using a newly created dataset of 67,907 confirmed scam domains mostly registered in 2025. Our study reveals that attackers exploit permissive registrars and less common top-level domains, with 86.9% of domains concentrated in just five non-mainstream TLDs and 72.9% registered via a single provider. We also discover specific registration patterns, including short bursts of activity that suggest automated, coordinated attacks, with over half of domains registered in the first quarter of 2025. This extreme temporal clustering reflects highly synchronized campaign launches. Additionally, we build a simple predictive model using only domain registration data to predict which scam domains are likely to be suspended -- a proxy for confirmed abuse -- achieving 80.4% accuracy, and 92.3% sensitivity. Our analysis reveals attacker strategies for evading detection -- such as exploiting obscure TLDs, permissive registrars, and coordinated registration bursts -- which can inform more targeted interventions by registrars, hosting providers, and security platforms. However, our results suggest that registration metadata alone may be insufficient, and incorporating features from domain URLs and webpage content could further improve detection.

Adelic Rogers' formula and an application

Recently, Seungki Kim proved an extension of Rogers' mean value formula to the adeles of an arbitrary number field. In this paper we give a new proof Kim's formula, and give a criterion ensuring convergence in this formula. We also discuss one application, namely diophantine approximation over imaginary quadratic number fields with congruence conditions, where we prove an analogue of a famous counting result of W. M. Schimdt.

Higher moment formulae and limiting distributions of lattice points

We prove functional limit theorems for lattice point counting for affine and congruence lattices using the method of moments. Our main tools are higher moment formulae for Siegel transforms on the corresponding homogeneous spaces, which we believe to be of independent interest.

Quantitative Diophantine approximation with congruence conditions

In this short paper we prove a quantitative version of the Khintchine-Groshev Theorem with congruence conditions. Our argument relies on a classical argument of Schmidt on counting generic lattice points, which in turn relies on a certain variance bound on the space of lattices.

Quantitative rational approximation on spheres

We prove a quantitative theorem for Diophantine approximation by rational points on spheres. Our results are valid for arbitrary unimodular lattices and we further prove 'spiraling' results for the direction of approximates. These results are quantitative generalizations of the Khintchine-type theorem on spheres proved by Kleinbock and Merrill.

Equidistribution on homogeneous spaces and the distribution of approximates in Diophantine approximation

The present paper is concerned with equidistribution results for certain flows on homogeneous spaces and related questions in Diophantine approximation. Firstly, we answer in the affirmative, a question raised by Kleinbock, Shi and Weiss regarding equidistribution of orbits of arbitrary lattices under diagonal flows and with respect to unbounded functions. We then consider the problem of Diophantine approximation with respect to rationals in a fixed number field. We prove a number field analogue of a famous result of W. M.Schmidt which counts the number of approximates to Diophantine inequalities for a certain class of approximating functions. Further we prove "spiraling" results for the distribution of approximates of Diophantine inequalities in number fields. This generalizes the work of Athreya, Ghosh and Tseng as well as Kleinbock, Shi and Weiss.
