On the incompleteness of the classification of quadratically integrable Hamiltonian systems in the three-dimensional Euclidean space

We present an example of an integrable Hamiltonian system with scalar potential in the three-dimensional Euclidean space whose integrals of motion are quadratic polynomials in the momenta, yet its Hamilton-Jacobi / Schrodinger equation cannot separate in any orthogonal coordinate system. This demonstrates a loophole in the derivation of the list of quadratically integrable Hamiltonian systems in [Makarov et al., A systematic search for nonrelativistic systems with dynamical symmetries. Nuovo Cimento A Series 10, 52:1061-1084, 1967] where only separable systems were found, and the need for its revision.

Three-dimensional superintegrable systems in a static electromagnetic field

We consider a charged particle moving in a static electromagnetic field described by the vector potential $\vec A(\vec x)$ and the electrostatic potential $V(\vec x)$. We study the conditions on the structure of the integrals of motion of the first and second order in momenta, in particular how they are influenced by the gauge invariance of the problem. Next, we concentrate on the three possibilities for integrability arising from the first order integrals corresponding to three nonequivalent subalgebras of the Euclidean algebra, namely $(P_1,P_2)$, $(L_3,P_3)$ and $(L_1,L_2,L_3)$. For these cases we look for additional independent integrals of first or second order in the momenta. These would make the system superintegrable (minimally or maximally). We study their quantum spectra and classical equations of motion. In some cases nonpolynomial integrals of motion occur and ensure maximal superintegrability.

On renormalization of Poisson-Lie T-plural sigma models

Covariance of the one-loop renormalization group equations with respect to Poisson-Lie T-plurality of sigma models is discussed. The role of ambiguities in renormalization group equations of Poisson-Lie sigma models with truncated matrices of parameters is investigated.

Solvable Lie algebras with Borel nilradicals

The present article is part of a research program the aim of which is to find all indecomposable solvable extensions of a given class of nilpotent Lie algebras. Specifically in this article we consider a nilpotent Lie algebra n that is isomorphic to the nilradical of the Borel subalgebra of a complex simple Lie algebra, or of its split real form. We treat all classical and exceptional simple Lie algebras in a uniform manner. We identify the nilpotent Lie algebra n as the one consisting of all positive root spaces. We present general structural properties of all solvable extensions of n. In particular, we study the extension by one nonnilpotent element and by the maximal number of such elements. We show that the extension of maximal dimension is always unique and isomorphic to the Borel subalgebra of the corresponding simple Lie algebra.

On the structure of maximal solvable extensions and of Levi extensions of nilpotent algebras

We establish an improved upper estimate on dimension of any solvable algebra s with its nilradical isomorphic to a given nilpotent Lie algebra n. Next we consider Levi decomposable algebras with a given nilradical n and investigate restrictions on possible Levi factors originating from the structure of characteristic ideals of n. We present a new perspective on Turkowski's classification of Levi decomposable algebras up to dimension 9.

Can solvable extensions of a nilpotent subalgebra be useful in the classification of solvable algebras with the given nilradical?

We construct all solvable Lie algebras with a specific n-dimensional nilradical n_{n,3} which contains the previously studied filiform nilpotent algebra n_{n-2,1} as a subalgebra but not as an ideal. Rather surprisingly it turns out that the classification of such solvable algebras can be reduced to the classification of solvable algebras with the nilradical n_{n-2,1} together with one additional case. Also the sets of invariants of coadjoint representation of n_{n,3} and its solvable extensions are deduced from this reduction. In several cases they have polynomial bases, i.e. the invariants of the respective solvable algebra can be chosen to be Casimir invariants in its enveloping algebra.

All solvable extensions of a class of nilpotent Lie algebras of dimension n and degree of nilpotency n-1

We construct all solvable Lie algebras with a specific n-dimensional nilradical n_(n,2) (of degree of nilpotency (n-1) and with an (n-2)-dimensional maximal Abelian ideal). We find that for given n such a solvable algebra is unique up to isomorphisms. Using the method of moving frames we construct a basis for the Casimir invariants of the nilradical n_(n,2). We also construct a basis for the generalized Casimir invariants of its solvable extension s_(n+1) consisting entirely of rational functions of the chosen invariants of the nilradical.

Description of D-branes invariant under the Poisson-Lie T-plurality

We write the conditions for open strings with charged endpoints in the language of gluing matrices. We identify constraints imposed on the gluing matrices that are essential in this setup and investigate the question of their invariance under the Poisson-Lie T-plurality transformations. We show that the chosen set of constraints is equivalent to the statement that the lifts of D-branes into the Drinfel'd double are right cosets with respect to a maximally isotropic subgroup and therefore it is invariant under the Poisson-Lie T-plurality transformations.

On the Poisson-Lie T-plurality of boundary conditions

Conditions for the gluing matrix defining consistent boundary conditions of two-dimensional nonlinear sigma-models are analyzed and reformulated. Transformation properties of the right-invariant fields under Poisson-Lie T-plurality are used to derive a formula for the transformation of the boundary conditions. Examples of transformation of D-branes in two and three dimensions are presented. We investigate obstacles arising in this procedure and propose possible solutions.

Poisson-Lie T-plurality as canonical transformation

We generalize the prescription realizing classical Poisson-Lie T-duality as canonical transformation to Poisson-Lie T-plurality. The key ingredient is the transformation of left-invariant fields under Poisson-Lie T-plurality. Explicit formulae realizing canonical transformation are presented and the preservation of canonical Poisson brackets and Hamiltonian density is shown.
