The Frisch--Parisi formalism for fluctuations of the Schrödinger equation

We consider the solution of the Schrödinger equation $u$ in $\mathbb{R}$ when the initial datum tends to the Dirac comb. Let $h_{\text{p}, δ}(t)$ be the fluctuations in time of $\int\lvert x\rvert^{2δ}\lvert u(x,t)\rvert^2\,dx$, for $0 < δ< 1$, after removing a smooth background. We prove that the Frisch--Parisi formalism holds for $H_δ(t) = \int_{[0,t]}h_{\text{p}, δ}(2s)\,ds$, which is morally a simplification of the Riemann's non-differentiable curve $R$. Our motivation is to understand the evolution of the vortex filament equation of polygonal filaments, which are related to $R$.

Kato-Ponce estimates for fractional sublaplacians

We give a proof of commutator estimates for fractional powers of the sublaplacian on the Heisenberg group. Our approach is based on pointwise and $L^p$ estimates involving square fractional integrals and Littlewood-Paley square functions.

On the maximal function associated to the spherical means on the Heisenberg group

In this paper we deal with lacunary and full versions of the spherical maximal function on the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^n$, for $n\ge 2$. By suitable adaptation of an approach developed by M. Lacey in the Euclidean case, we obtain sparse bounds for these maximal functions, which lead to new unweighted and weighted estimates. In particular, we deduce the $L^p$ boundedness, for $1<p<\infty$, of the lacunary maximal function associated to the spherical means on the Heisenberg group. In order to prove the sparse bounds, we establish $ L^p-L^q $ estimates for local (single scale) variants of the spherical means.

Holomorphic extensions of eigenfunctions on $NA$ groups

Let $ X = G/K $ be a rank one Riemannian symmetric space of noncompact type. In view of the Iwasawa decomposition $ G = NAK $ of the underlying semisimple Lie group, we can also view $ X $ as the solvable extension $ S = NA $ of the Iwasawa group $ N$ which is known to be a $H$-type group. In this work we study the holomorphic extendability of eigenfunctions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator $ Δ_S$ on $ S $ to certain domains in the complexification of the nilpotent group $ N$. We can also do the same for any $H$-type group $ N $ not necessarily an Iwasawa group. The results are accomplished by making use of the connection with solutions of the extension problem for the Laplacian or the sublaplacian on the corresponding $ N$.

Bilinear spherical maximal functions of product type

In this paper we introduce and study a bilinear spherical maximal function of product type in the spirit of bilinear Calderón-Zygmund theory. This operator is different from the bilinear spherical maximal function considered by Geba et al. We deal with lacunary and full versions of this operator, and we prove weighted estimates with respect to bilinear weights. Our approach involves sparse forms following ideas by Lacey, but we also use other techniques to handle the particular triplet $(2,2,1)$.

On the absolute divergence of Fourier series in the infinite dimensional torus

We present some simple counterexamples, based on quadratic forms in infinitely many variables, showing that the implication $f\in C^{(\infty}(\mathbb{T}^ω)\Longrightarrow\sum_{\bar{p}\in\mathbb{Z}^\infty}|\widehat{f}(\bar{p})|<\infty$ is false. There are functions of the class $C^{(\infty}(\mathbb{T}^ω)$ (depending on an infinite number of variables) whose Fourier series diverges absolutely. This fact establishes a significant difference from the finite dimensional case.

Quantitative weighted estimates for Rubio de Francia's Littlewood--Paley square function

We consider the Rubio de Francia's Littlewood--Paley square function associated with an arbitrary family of intervals in $\mathbb{R}$ with finite overlapping. Quantitative weighted estimates are obtained for this operator. The linear dependence on the characteristic of the weight $[w]_{A_{p/2}}$ turns out to be sharp for $3\le p<\infty$, whereas the sharpness in the range $2<p<3$ remains as an open question. Weighted weak-type estimates in the endpoint $p=2$ are also provided. The results arise as a consequence of a sparse domination shown for these operators, obtained by suitably adapting the ideas coming from Benea (2015) and Culiuc et al. (2016).

Vector-valued extensions for fractional integrals of Laguerre expansions

We prove some vector-valued inequalities for fractional integrals defined in the context of two different orthonormal systems of Laguerre functions. Our results are based on estimates of the corresponding kernels with precise control of the parameters involved. As an application, mixed norm estimates for the fractional integrals related to the harmonic oscillator are deduced.

Hardy-type inequalities for fractional powers of the Dunkl--Hermite operator

We prove Hardy-type inequalities for a fractional Dunkl--Hermite operator which incidentally give Hardy inequalities for the fractional harmonic oscillator as well. The idea is to use $h$-harmonic expansions to reduce the problem in the Dunkl--Hermite context to the Laguerre setting. Then, we push forward a technique based on a non-local ground representation, initially developed by R. L. Frank, E. H. Lieb and R. Seiringer in the Euclidean setting, to get a Hardy inequality for the fractional-type Laguerre operator. The above-mentioned method is shown to be adaptable to an abstract setting, whenever there is a "good" spectral theorem and an integral representation for the fractional operators involved.

Nonlocal discrete diffusion equations and the fractional discrete Laplacian, regularity and applications

The analysis of nonlocal discrete equations driven by fractional powers of the discrete Laplacian on a mesh of size $h>0$ \[ (-\Delta_h)^su=f, \] for $u,f:\mathbb{Z}_h\to\mathbb{R}$, $0<s<1$, is performed. The pointwise nonlocal formula for $(-\Delta_h)^su$ and the nonlocal discrete mean value property for discrete $s$-harmonic functions are obtained. We observe that a characterization of $(-\Delta_h)^s$ as the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator for a semidiscrete degenerate elliptic local extension problem is valid. Regularity properties and Schauder estimates in discrete H\"older spaces as well as existence and uniqueness of solutions to the nonlocal Dirichlet problem are shown. For the latter, the fractional discrete Sobolev embedding and the fractional discrete Poincar\'e inequality are proved, which are of independent interest. We introduce the negative power (fundamental solution) \[ u=(-\Delta_h)^{-s}f, \] which can be seen as the Neumann-to-Dirichlet map for the semidiscrete extension problem. We then prove the discrete Hardy--Littlewood--Sobolev inequality for $(-\Delta_h)^{-s}$. As applications, the convergence of our fractional discrete Laplacian to the (continuous) fractional Laplacian as $h\to0$ in H\"older spaces is analyzed. Indeed, uniform estimates for the error of the approximation in terms of $h$ under minimal regularity assumptions are obtained. We finally prove that solutions to the Poisson problem for the fractional Laplacian \[ (-\Delta)^sU=F, \] in $\mathbb{R}$, can be approximated by solutions to the Dirichlet problem for our fractional discrete Laplacian, with explicit uniform error estimates in terms of~$h$.

$A_1$ theory of weights for rough homogeneous singular integrals and commutators

Quantitative $A_1-A_\infty$ estimates for rough homogeneous singular integrals $T_Ω$ and commutators of $BMO$ symbols and $T_Ω$ are obtained. In particular the following estimates are proved: % \[ \|T_Ω\|_{L^p(w)}\le c_{n,p}\|Ω\|_{L^\infty} [w]_{A_1}^{\frac{1}{p}}\,[w]_{A_{\infty}}^{1+\frac{1}{p'}}\|f\|_{L^p(w)} \] % and % \[ \| [b,T_Ω]f\|_{L^{p}(w)}\leq c_{n,p}\|b\|_{BMO}\|Ω\|_{L^{\infty}} [w]_{A_1}^{\frac{1}{p}}[w]_{A_{\infty}}^{2+\frac{1}{p'}}\|f\|_{L^{p}\left(w\right)}, \] % for $1<p<\infty$ and $1/p+1/p'=1$.

Hardy's inequality for fractional powers of the sublaplacian on the Heisenberg group

We prove Hardy inequalities for the conformally invariant fractional powers of the sublaplacian on the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^n$. We prove two versions of such inequalities depending on whether the weights involved are non-homogeneous or homogeneous. In the first case, the constant arising in the Hardy inequality turns out to be optimal. In order to get our results, we will use ground state representations. The key ingredients to obtain the latter are some explicit integral representations for the fractional powers of the sublaplacian and a generalized result by M. Cowling and U. Haagerup. The approach to prove the integral representations is via the language of semigroups. As a consequence of the Hardy inequalities we also obtain versions of Heisenberg uncertainty inequality for the fractional sublaplacian.

Mixed norm estimates for the Cesàro means associated with Dunkl--Hermite expansions

Our main goal in this article is to study mixed norm estimates for the Cesàro means associated with Dunkl--Hermite expansions on $\mathbb{R}^d$. These expansions arise when one consider the Dunkl--Hermite operator (or Dunkl harmonic oscillator) $H_κ:=-Δ_κ+|x|^2$, where $Δ_κ$ stands for the Dunkl--Laplacian. It is shown that the desired mixed norm estimates are equivalent to vector-valued inequalities for a sequence of Cesàro means for Laguerre expansions with shifted parameter. In order to obtain the latter, we develop an argument to extend these operators for complex values of the parameters involved and apply a version of three lines lemma.

Revisiting floating bodies

The conic sections, as well as the solids obtained by revolving these curves, and many of their surprising properties, were already studied by Greek mathematicians since at least the fourth century B.C. Some of these properties come to the light, or are rediscovered, from time to time. In this paper we characterize the conic sections as the plane curves whose tangent lines cut off from a certain similar curve segments of constant area. We also characterize some quadrics as the surfaces whose tangent planes cut off from a certain similar surface compact sets of constant volume. Our work is developed in the most general multidimensional case.

Quantitative weighted estimates for rough homogeneous singular integrals

We consider homogeneous singular kernels, whose angular part is bounded, but need not have any continuity. For the norm of the corresponding singular integral operators on the weighted space $L^2(w)$, we obtain a bound that is quadratic in the $A_2$ constant $[w]_{A_2}$. We do not know if this is sharp, but it is the best known quantitative result for this class of operators. The proof relies on a classical decomposition of these operators into smooth pieces, for which we use a quantitative elaboration of Lacey's dyadic decomposition of Dini-continuous operators: the dependence of constants on the Dini norm of the kernels is crucial to control the summability of the series expansion of the rough operator. We conclude with applications and conjectures related to weighted bounds for powers of the Beurling transform.

Riesz transforms on compact Riemannian symmetric spaces of rank one

In this paper we prove mixed norm estimates for Riesz transforms related to Laplace--Beltrami operators on compact Riemannian symmetric spaces of rank one. These operators are closely related to the Riesz transforms for Jacobi polynomials expansions. The key point is to obtain sharp estimates for the kernel of the Jacobi--Riesz transforms with uniform control on the parameters, together with an adaptation of Rubio de Francia's extrapolation theorem. The latter results are of independent interest.
