Blanchfield pairings and twisted Blanchfield pairings of torus knots

We give explicit matrix presentations of the Blanchfield pairing and certain twisted Blanchfield pairings of the $(m,n)$-torus knot $T(m,n)$. Our method uses a taut identity realizing a genus-two Heegaard splitting of the manifold $X_{T(m,n)}$ obtained from $S^3$ by $0$-surgery along $T(m,n)$. The taut identity allows us to construct a chain complex of $X_{T(m,n)}$ with few generators. As a result, we obtain explicit matrix presentations of the Blanchfield pairing of $T(m,n)$. Moreover, for each Casson-Gordon type metabelian representation and for suitable roots of unity $\xi$ depending on the representation, we describe the $(t-\xi)$-primary part of the associated twisted Alexander module and give an explicit description of the restriction of the twisted Blanchfield pairing to this primary summand.

Dijkgraaf-Witten invariant in topological $K$-theory

Given a finite group $G$, we define a new invariant of odd-dimensional oriented closed manifolds and call it the KDW invariant. This invariant is a Dijkgraaf--Witten invariant in terms of $K$-theory. In this paper, we compute the invariant of the Brieskorn homology spheres with $G=\mathrm{PSL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$. We should remark that, in this computational result, the fundamental groups of the Brieskorn homology spheres and $\mathrm{PSL}_2(\mathbb{F}_p)$ are not nilpotent.

Parabolic Dijkgraaf-Witten invariants of links in the $3$-sphere

We define a new invariant of links in the $3$-sphere and call it the parabolic Dijkgraaf-Witten (DW) invariant. This invariant is a generalization of the reduced DW invariant derived by Karuo. In this paper, we compute the invariant of several links over which double branched coverings are homeomorphic to the lens spaces. Moreover, we introduce a procedure for computing partial information of the parabolic DW invariant using only link diagrams.

Nonacyclic Reidemeister torsions of manifolds of odd dimension

Given an oriented closed manifold $M$ of odd dimension and a unitary representation $\rho : \pi_1(M) \ra \GL_n(\F)$, we define a Reidemeister torsion, even if the cohomology associated with $\rho$ is not acyclic. As corollaries, we introduce some topological invariants of $M$, which include the nonacyclic extensions of abelian torsions and the Alexander polynomials of links. Further, we propose a volume form of the $\SU(n)$-character varieties of $M$. Moreover, we compute the Reidemeister torsions of some representations of 3-manifolds and compare the works of Farber--Turaev.
