Spectral Viterbo isomorphism: complex-oriented versus framed

The Viterbo isomorphism relates the symplectic cohomology of a cotangent bundle to the homology of the free loop space of its base. We lift this to a relation of modules over (1) the complex bordism spectrum MU and (2) the sphere spectrum $\mathbb{S}$. In particular, by a result of Porcelli and the present author [BP26], it is not the case that, in general, the $\mathbb{S}$-level statement recovers the MU-level statement after base-change -- even in the case the base is spin.

Quantum de Sitter and Analytically Continued Chern Simons Theory

We give a Lefschetz thimble definition of the Chern--Simons--Kodama wavefunctional in Lorentzian self-dual gravity with positive cosmological constant. By complexifying the connection and choosing the Lefschetz thimble attached to the self-dual de~Sitter saddle, Witten's analytic continuation of Chern--Simons theory replaces the real contour, on which the defining integral is at best conditionally convergent, by an absolutely convergent integration cycle and yields a controlled semiclassical expansion. The relevant integrand is the full holomorphic exponential $e^{I}$, with $I=\kappa Y_{\rm CS}+(\text{source})$, and the steepest descent flow is governed by the Morse function $h=\operatorname{Re} I$. In the homogeneous isotropic de Sitter reduction, the construction reproduces the Hartle--Hawking Airy wavefunction. In the Bianchi~IX truncation, we take the Lefschetz thimble attached to the expanding de~Sitter saddle (the contracting branch defines a conjugate Lefschetz thimble); within this sector, the symmetric configuration is the only critical point for $\Lambda>0$. The corresponding Lefschetz thimble contains one trace direction with the FRW Airy structure and two anisotropic shear directions that are real-Gaussian damped at leading quadratic order. This gives a finite Bianchi~IX wavefunction which, to leading order, is the FRW Airy factor multiplied by a real anisotropy Gaussian. Thus, the Airy behavior is not an artifact of the one-dimensional minisuperspace reduction, but the leading form of the wavefunction on the Lefschetz thimble. We also discuss how the Lefschetz thimble prescription interfaces with Lorentzian reality conditions.

A homotopy coherent Pontryagin-Thom isomorphism

Classically, the Pontryagin-Thom isomorphism asserts that the multiplicative cohomology theory given by (structured) geometric cobordism is isomorphic to the cohomology theory determined by an associated Thom spectrum. We construct a presentably symmetric monoidal stable $\infty$-category of homotopy invariant sheaves with transfers on smooth manifolds whose unit is precisely (structured) geometric cobordism. We show the endomorphism ring of the unit can be canonically identified with the associated $\mathbb{E}_\infty$-Thom ring spectrum, i.e., we provide an $\mathbb{E}_\infty$-lift of the Pontryagin-Thom isomorphism.

Bulk-deformations, Floer complex bordism, and Grothendieck-Riemann-Roch

Given a Liouville manifold, we compute a Floer-homotopical invariant -- the complexification of the lift of symplectic cohomology to complex cobordism -- in terms of a classical Floer-theoretic invariant, namely, symplectic cohomology bulk-deformed by the Chern character. We do this by giving an explicit model for the complexified homotopy groups of the MU-module spectrum associated to a complex-oriented flow category and proving a ``homotopy coherent'' version of the classical Grothedieck-Riemann-Roch theorem. Using the aforementioned relation, we establish a computable cohomological criterion, in terms of the pair-of-pants product and the BV operator on symplectic cohomology, for when this MU lift cannot be obtained via base change from the sphere spectrum; moreover, we give examples where this holds. Finally, we use this non-base change criterion to detect examples of non-trivial higher-dimensional complex cobordism classes of relative Gromov-Witten type moduli spaces in the context of a smooth complex projective variety relative to an ample smooth divisor.

Ample divisor complements, Floer spectra, and relative Gromov-Witten theory

We spectrally lift Ganatra-Pomerleano's low-energy log PSS morphism to compute the associated graded of Floer homotopy types of ample smooth divisor complements. Moreover, we show the obstruction to splitting into the associated graded is encoded in a stable homotopy class defined via (higher-dimensional) genus 0 relative Gromov-Witten moduli spaces. We compute numerous examples of splittings, including the affine part of all smooth projective hypersurfaces of degree at least 2.

Parameterized Lagrangian Floer homotopy

We construct the Lagrangian Floer homotopy type, in the exact setting, as a spectrum parameterized over the moduli space of Maslov data. Our primary motivation for this construction is to provide stronger lower bounds for (possibly degenerate) Lagrangian intersections in plumbings of cotangent bundles.

Floer homotopy theory and degenerate Lagrangian intersections

We give a lower bound on the number of intersection points of a Lagrangian pair via Steenrod squares on Lagrangian Floer cohomology induced from a Floer homotopy type. The main technical input is a computation of the associated graded of the action-filtration of the Floer homotopy type in terms of Morse homotopy theory (precisely, Conley index theory). We also prove a lower bound using the quantum cap product on Lagrangian Floer cohomology.

Augmentation varieties and disk potentials II

This is the second in a sequence of papers in which we construct Chekanov-Eliashberg algebras for Legendrians in circle-fibered contact manifolds and study the associated augmentation varieties. In this part, we first define the Chekanov-Eliashberg algebra and its Legendrian contact homology. For a tame Lagrangian cobordism between Legendrians, we define a chain map between their Chekanov-Eliashberg algebras.

Augmentation varieties and disk potentials III

This is the third in a series of papers in which we construct Chekanov-Eliashberg algebras for Legendrians in circle-fibered contact manifolds and study the associated augmentation varieties. In this part, we prove that for connected Legendrian covers of monotone Lagrangian tori, the augmentation variety is equal to the image of the zero level set of the disk potential, as suggested by Dimitroglou-Rizell-Golovko. In particular, we show that Legendrian lifts of Vianna's exotic tori are not Legendrian isotopic. Using related ideas, we show that the Legendrian lift of the Clifford torus admits no exact fillings, extending results of Dimitroglou-Rizell and Treumann-Zaslow in dimension two. We consider certain disconnected Legendrians, and show, similar to another suggestion of Aganagic-Ekholm-Ng-Vafa that the components of the augmentation variety correspond to certain partitions and each component is defined by a (not necessarily exact) Lagrangian filling.

Augmentation varieties and disk potentials I

This is the first in a sequence of papers where we show that Lagrangian fillings such as the Harvey-Lawson filling in any dimension define augmentations of Chekanov-Eliashberg differential graded algebras by counting configurations of holomorphic disks connected by gradient trajectories, as in Aganagic-Ekholm-Ng-Vafa; we also prove that for Legendrian lifts of monotone tori, the augmentation variety is the zero level set of the Landau-Ginzburg potential of the Lagrangian projection, as suggested by Dimitroglou-Rizell-Golovko. In this part, we set up the foundations of moduli spaces of pseudoholomorphic buildings.

Stable Morse flow trees

We prove a Floer-Gromov compactness type result for (stable) Morse flow trees of Legendrians in 1-jet spaces with simple front singularities satisfying Ekholm's preliminary transversality condition.
