Stabilization of codimension of persistence barcodes

Given a pointwise finite-dimensional persistence module over a totally ordered set $S$, a theorem of Crawley-Boevey guarantees the existence of a barcode. When the set $S$ is finite, the persistence module is an equioriented type-A quiver representation and the barcode identifies a distinguished point in an algebraic variety. We prove a formula for the codimension of this variety inside an ambient space of comparable representations which depends only on the combinatorics of the barcode. We therefore extend the notion of codimension to persistence modules over any set $S$ and prove that this extension is well-defined and can be effectively computed via a stabilization property of approximating quiver representations. Further, we prove realization theorems by constructing explicit examples via persistent homology of data for which the codimension can realize any natural number as its value.

A family of structure isomorphisms for the Cohomological Hall Algebra of an acyclic quiver

For any acyclic quiver, we establish a family of structure isomorphisms for its cohomological Hall algebra (CoHA). The family is parameterized by partitions of the quiver into Dynkin subquivers. For each such partition, we write the domain of our isomorphism as a tensor product of subalgebras in two ways. In the first, each tensor factor is isomorphic to the CoHA of the quiver with a single vertex and no arrows. In the second, the tensor factors are each isomorphic to the CoHAs of the corresponding Dynkin subquivers. When the quiver is already an orientation of a simply-laced Dynkin diagram, our results interpolate between isomorphisms proved by Rimanyi. Such CoHA decompositions appear in prior work of Davison--Meinhardt and Franzen--Reineke, but our proof gives an explicit topological realization of these results. As a consequence of our method, we deduce that certain structure constants in the CoHA naturally arise as CoHA products of classes of Dynkin quiver polynomials.

Interpolating factorizations for acyclic Donaldson--Thomas invariants

We prove a family of factorization formulas for the combinatorial Donaldson--Thomas invariant for an acyclic quiver. A quantum dilogarithm identity due to Reineke, later interpreted by Rimanyi by counting codimensions of quiver loci, gives two extremal cases of our formulation in the Dynkin case. We establish our interpolating factorizations explicitly with a dimension counting argument by defining certain stratifications of the space of representations for the quiver and calculating Betti numbers in the corresponding equivariant cohomology algebras.

Quantum dilogarithm identities for n-cycle quivers

We prove quantum dilogarithm identities for $n$-cycle quivers. By the combinatorial approach of Keller, each side of our identity determines a maximal green sequence of quiver mutations. Thus we interpret our identities as factorizations of the refined Donaldson--Thomas invariant for the quiver with potential. Finally, we conjecture an upper bound on the possible lengths of maximal green sequences.

Quantum dilogarithm identities for the square product of A-type Dynkin quivers

The famous pentagon identity for quantum dilogarithms has a generalization for every Dynkin quiver, due to Reineke. A more advanced generalization is associated with a pair of alternating Dynkin quivers, due to Keller. The description and proof of Keller's identities involves cluster algebras and cluster categories, and the statement of the identity is implicit. In this paper we describe Keller's identities explicitly, and prove them by a dimension counting argument. Namely, we consider quiver representations $\boldsymbol{\mathrm{Rep}}_γ$ together with a superpotential function $W_γ$, and calculate the Betti numbers of the equivariant $W_γ$ rapid decay cohomology algebra of $\boldsymbol{\mathrm{Rep}}_γ$ in two different ways corresponding to two natural stratifications of $\boldsymbol{\mathrm{Rep}}_γ$. This approach is suggested by Kontsevich and Soibelman in relation with the Cohomological Hall Algebra of quivers, and the associated Donaldson-Thomas invariants.

Grothendieck classes of quiver cycles as iterated residues

In the case of Dynkin quivers we establish a formula for the Grothendieck class of a quiver cycle as the iterated residue of a certain rational function, for which we provide an explicit combinatorial construction. Moreover, we utilize a new definition of the double stable Grothendieck polynomials due to Rimanyi and Szenes in terms of iterated residues to exhibit how the computation of quiver coefficients can be reduced to computing coefficients in Laurent expansions of certain rational functions.
