Prospects for observing the ${\eta}_{t}$ ${\to}$ $W^{+}W^{-}$ decay at the HL-LHC

Motivated by the recent observation of the pseudoscalar toponium ${\eta}_{t}$ at the LHC and by the ongoing interest in its properties, we phenomenologically investigate the ${\eta}_{t}$ ${\to}$ $W^{+}W^{-}$ process, one of the characteristic decays of toponium ${\eta}_{t}$. The branching ratio for the ${\eta}_{t}$ ${\to}$ $W^{+}W^{-}$ decay is estimated with two scenarios of the decay constant $f_{{\eta}_{t}}$. It is found that tens of dilepton events from the cascade decays, ${\eta}_{t}$ ${\to}$ $W^{+}W^{-}$ ${\to}$ ${\ell}^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\ell}{\ell}^{{\prime}+}{\nu}_{{\ell}^{\prime}}$ with ${\ell}$, ${\ell}^{\prime}$ $=$ $e$ and ${\mu}$, could be experimentally observed, when considering the realistic identification efficiency of the charged lepton and assuming more than $3{\times}10^{7}$ ${\eta}_{t}$ events available at the future HL-LHC. We propose searching for ${\eta}_{t}$ via the ${\eta}_{t}$ ${\to}$ $W^{+}W^{-}$ ${\to}$ ${\ell}^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\ell}{\ell}^{{\prime}+}{\nu}_{{\ell}^{\prime}}$ channel, which features no $b$-jets and clean dilepton signatures, thus offering a complementary and potentially more sensitive probe.

The feasibility of single ${\Lambda}$ production via ${\ell}^{-}$ $+$ $p$ ${\to}$ ${\Lambda}$ $+$ ${\nu}_{\ell}$ at $e^{+}e^{-}$ colliders

We present a comprehensive investigation of single ${\Lambda}$ hyperon production via the lepton-nucleon deep inelastic scattering (LNDIS) process, ${\ell}^{-}$ $+$ $p$ ${\to}$ ${\nu}_{\ell}$ $+$ ${\Lambda}$, in the experimental environment of electron-positron colliders. Our approach utilizes incident leptons originating from the decays of resonances (${J/\psi}$, ${\psi}(2S)$, ${\Upsilon}(1S)$, ${\Upsilon}(2S)$, and $Z^{0}$) produced in $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions, which then scatter off stationary protons in the surrounding detector materials. The differential and total cross sections are calculated using baryonic transition form factors parameterized with the $z$-expansion scheme within both the quantum chromodynamics (QCD) sum rule and lattice QCD frameworks. Our results indicate that the cross section increases with center-of-mass energy and is highly sensitive to the choice of form factors, resulting in significant theoretical uncertainties. This study highlights the experimental challenges in observing the LNDIS process at $e^{+}e^{-}$ colliders and underscores the need for improved determination of baryonic form factors. It serves as a valuable reference for future experimental searches and suggests that an anomalous observation of single ${\Lambda}$ hyperon production at $e^{+}e^{-}$ colliders could indicate new physics.

Study of the two-body nonleptonic $B_{c}(2S)$ weak decays with the QCD factorization approach

Inspired by the promising prospect of the $B_{c}(2S)$ meson at the coming HL-LHC experiments, the nonleptonic $B_{c}(2S)$ meson weak decays induced by both the $b$ and $c$ decays are investigated with the QCD factorization approach. It is found that branching ratios for the color- and CKM-favored $B_{c}(2S)$ ${\to}$ $B_{s}{\rho}$, $B_{s}{\pi}$ decays can reach up to ${\cal O}(10^{-9})$, which might be measurable. The $B_{c}(2S)$ decays into the final states containing one charmonium are highly suppressed by the CKM factors, and have significantly small branching ratios, ${\cal O}(10^{-12})$ and less, which might be outside the future measurement capability. This paper provides a ready reference for the future experimental study on the hadronic $B_{c}(2S)$ weak decays.

ByteSized32Refactored: Towards an Extensible Interactive Text Games Corpus for LLM World Modeling and Evaluation

Simulating interactive world models remains a core challenge in Large Language Models(LLMs). In this work, we introduce the ByteSized32Refactored, a refactored, modular, and extensible implementation of the original ByteSized32 corpus to explore the task of text game generation. We further optimize the code structure of each text game and create the GameBasic.py foundation library, which centralizes common logic across all 32 games by abstracting 7 base classes (GameObject, etc.) into reusable modules, thereby reducing from 20k to 10k total lines of Python code compared to the original Bytesized32. Our refactored implementation enables extendability - with our centralized design, ByteSized32Refactored can be more efficiently extended to include text games of new scenarios and specifications by reusing the shared logic and functionalities. Extensive experiments with GPT-4o demonstrate a mix of performance - with Bytesized32Refactored, the generated text games for unseen scenarios showcase quality improvements on two of the four evaluation dimensions while decreases on the other two, indicating that the hierarchical structure of the refactored code presents new challenges for LLMs. Overall, we highlight that our extensible code structure, centered on the foundation library and the modular optimization, not only facilitates LLM adaptation to environment specifications but also establishes a scalable environment that supports future extensions.

Design and Optimization of Reinforcement Learning-Based Agents in Text-Based Games

As AI technology advances, research in playing text-based games with agents has becomeprogressively popular. In this paper, a novel approach to agent design and agent learning ispresented with the context of reinforcement learning. A model of deep learning is first applied toprocess game text and build a world model. Next, the agent is learned through a policy gradient-based deep reinforcement learning method to facilitate conversion from state value to optimal policy. The enhanced agent works better in several text-based game experiments and significantlysurpasses previous agents on game completion ratio and win rate. Our study introduces novelunderstanding and empirical ground for using reinforcement learning for text games and sets thestage for developing and optimizing reinforcement learning agents for more general domains andproblems.

Revisiting $B_s \to PP$ and $PV$ Decays with Contributions from ${\phi}_{B2}$ with perturbativen QCD approach

The $B_s \to PP$ and $PV$ decay modes are revisited at leading order within the perturbative QCD approach, incorporating the $B_s$ mesonic wave function (WF) ${\phi}_{B2}$. Here, $P$ represents the pseudoscalar mesons ${\pi}$ and $K$, while $V$ denotes the ground-state vector mesons. The investigation incorporates two key refinements: the contribution of the sub-leading twist WF $\phi_{B2}$ of the $B_s$ meson and the effects of higher-order terms in the distribution amplitudes (DAs) of the final-state mesons. Employing the minimum $\chi^2$ method, we optimize the shape parameter $\omega_{B_s}$ of the $B_s$ meson WF and systematically calculate the branching ratios and $CP$ violation parameters for these decay modes. Our results demonstrate that the inclusion of $\phi_{B2}$ significantly impacts both the branching ratios and $CP$ asymmetries, offer an improved agreement with existing experimental data for specific channels. This underscores the necessity of accounting for $\phi_{B2}$ in theoretical studies of $B_s$ weak decays. While the higher-order corrections in the final-state meson DAs yield comparatively smaller effects, they still enhance the theoretical predictions. These findings highlight the importance of refining both wave function modeling and higher-order contributions in pQCD calculations. Future high-precision experimental measurements will further test these predictions, while continued theoretical efforts are essential to explore additional interaction mechanisms and systematic uncertainties. The interplay between experimental advancements and theoretical improvements remains critical for a deeper understanding of $B_s$ meson decay dynamics.

Contributions from the color-octet matrix elements to the $\overline{B}$ ${\to}$ ${\pi}{\pi}$ decays with QCD factorization approach

Motivated by the ${\pi}{\pi}$ puzzle in nonleptonic $B$ decays in the time of high-precision and huge-data for particle physics, we restudy the $\overline{B}$ ${\to}$ ${\pi}{\pi}$ decays with QCD factorization approach. An additional contributions from the color-octet current matrix elements (COCME) which are unnoticed in almost all the previous calculation, are taken into consideration and parameterized by $X$. It is found that (1) form factor $F_{0}^{B{\pi}}$ ${\approx}$ $0.22$ is favored by the available latest measurements. (2) The COCME contributions are helpful to interpret the experimental data on branching ratios rather than $CP$ asymmetries for the $\overline{B}$ ${\to}$ ${\pi}{\pi}$ decays.

The nonfactorizable QED correction to the $\overline{B}_{s}$ ${\to}$ $D_{s}^{(\ast)} {\ell} \bar{\nu}_{\ell}$ decays

Considering the nonfactorizable QED corrections, the branching ratios and ratios of branching ratios $R(D_{s}^{({\ast})})$ for the semileptonic $\overline{B}_{s}$ ${\to}$ $D_{s}^{(\ast)} {\ell} \bar{\nu}_{\ell}$ decays are reevaluated. It is found that (a) the QED contributions can enhance the branching ratios and reduce the ratios $R(D_{s}^{({\ast})})$. (b) The $SU(3)$ flavor symmetry holds basically well in the ratios $R(D)$-$R(D^{\ast})$ for the semileptonic charmed $\overline{B}_{u,d,s}$ decays. (c) The current theoretical uncertainties of branching ratios ${\cal B}(\overline{B}_{s} {\to} D_{s}^{\ast} {\ell} \bar{\nu}_{\ell})$ from the form factors are very large.

Searching for the toponium ${\eta}_{t}$ with the ${\eta}_{t}$ ${\to}$ $W^{+}W^{-}$ decay

Inspired by the observation of the ${\eta}_{t}$ meson at the LHC and the promising prospect of the ${\eta}_{t}$ meson available at the approaching HL-LHC, branching ratios for the ${\eta}_{t}$ ${\to}$ $f\bar{f}$, $gg$, ${\gamma}{\gamma}$, $W^{+}W^{-}$, $Z^{0}Z^{0}$, $Z^{0}{\gamma}$ and $Z^{0}H$ decays are roughly estimated. It is found that tens of opposite-charge dilepton events from the ${\eta}_{t}$ ${\to}$ $W^{+}W^{-}$ decay and hundreds of events from the ${\eta}_{t}$ ${\to}$ $Z^{0}H$ ${\to}$ ${\ell}^{+}{\ell}^{-}H$ decay using the single $Z^{0}$ boson tagging method are expected to be accessible. This estimation provides a reference for future experimental study on the ${\eta}_{t}$ meson.

The QED nonfactorizable correction to the semileptonic charmed three-body $B$ decays

In this paper, the nonfactorizable photonic corrections to the effective four-fermion vertex for the $\overline{B}$ ${\to}$ $D^{({\ast})}$ $+$ ${\ell}^{-}$ $+$ $\bar{\nu}_{\ell}$ decays are considered at the quark level within SM, where ${\ell}$ $=$ $e$, ${\mu}$ and ${\tau}$. It is found that the QED corrections are closely related with the mass of the charged lepton. The QED contributions will enhance branching ratios, which results in the slight reduction of ratios $R(D^{(\ast)})$ and the relationship $R(D^{(\ast)})_{e}$ $<$ $R(D^{(\ast)})_{\mu}$.

Research on geometric figure classification algorithm based on Deep Learning

In recent years, with the rapid development of computer information technology, the development of artificial intelligence has been accelerating. The traditional geometry recognition technology is relatively backward and the recognition rate is low. In the face of massive information database, the traditional algorithm model inevitably has the problems of low recognition accuracy and poor performance. Deep learning theory has gradually become a very important part of machine learning. The implementation of convolutional neural network (CNN) reduces the difficulty of graphics generation algorithm. In this paper, using the advantages of lenet-5 architecture sharing weights and feature extraction and classification, the proposed geometric pattern recognition algorithm model is faster in the training data set. By constructing the shared feature parameters of the algorithm model, the cross-entropy loss function is used in the recognition process to improve the generalization of the model and improve the average recognition accuracy of the test data set.

Study of the nonleptonic charmless $B$ ${\to}$ $SS$ decays with the QCD factorization approach

Inspired by the brilliant prospects of the ongoing $B$ meson experiments, the hadronic charmless $B$ ${\to}$ $SS$ decays are studied by considering the next-to-leading (NLO) contributions with the QCD factorization approach, where $S$ denotes the scalar mesons $K_{0}^{\ast}(1430)$ and $a_{0}(1450)$. Branching ratios and $CP$ violating asymmetries are estimated with the updated values of hadronic parameters obtained from a covariant light-front quark model, for two scenarios where the scalar mesons are the $1^{3}P_{0}$ and $2^{3}P_{0}$ states. It is found that the NLO contributions are very important for the $B$ ${\to}$ $SS$ decays; For the $B$ ${\to}$ $a_{0}(1450)K_{0}^{\ast}(1430)$ and $B_{s}$ ${\to}$ $K_{0}^{\ast}(1430)\overline{K}_{0}^{\ast}(1430)$ decays, branching ratios can reach up to the order of ${\cal O}(10^{-5})$ by assuming that the scalar mesons are the $1P$ states, and should first be investigated in the future experiments.

Possibility of experimental study on nonleptonic $B_{c}^{\ast}$ weak decays

The ground vector $B_{c}^{\ast}$ meson has not yet been experimentally discovered until now. Besides the dominant electromagnetic decays, nonleptonic weak decays provide another choice to search for the mysterious $B_{c}^{\ast}$ mesons. Inspired by the potential prospects of $B_{c}^{\ast}$ mesons in future high-luminosity colliders, nonleptonic $B_{c}^{\ast}$ weak decays induced by bottom and charm quark decays are studied within the SM by using a naive factorization approach. It is found that for $B_{c}^{\ast}$ ${\to}$ $B_{s,d}{\pi}$, $B_{s,d}^{\ast}{\pi}$, $B_{s,d}{\rho}$, $B_{s}K$, $B_{s}^{\ast}K$, $B_{s}K^{\ast}$, ${\eta}_{c}(1S,2S){\pi}$, ${\eta}_{c}(1S,2S){\rho}$ and ${\psi}(1S,2S){\pi}$ decays, a few hundred and even thousand of events might be observable in CEPC, FCC-ee and LHCb@HL-LHC experiments.

Feasibility of searching for the Cabibbo-favored $D^{\ast}$ ${\to}$ $\bar{K}{\pi}^{+}$, $\bar{K}^{\ast}{\pi}^{+}$, $\bar{K}{\rho}^{+}$ decays

The current knowledge on the $D^{\ast}$ mesons are still inadequate. Encouraged by the positive development prospects of high-luminosity and high-precision experiments, the Cabibbo-favored nonleptonic $D^{\ast}$ ${\to}$ $\bar{K}{\pi}^{+}$, $\bar{K}^{\ast}{\pi}^{+}$, $\bar{K}{\rho}^{+}$ weak decays are studied with the naive factorization approach. It is found that branching ratios of these processes can reach up to ${\cal O}(10^{-10})$ or more, and can be accessible at STCF, CEPC, FCC-ee and LHCb@HL-LHC experiments in the future. It might even be possible to search for the $D^{{\ast}0}$ ${\to}$ $K^{{\ast}-}{\pi}^{+}$ and $K^{-}{\rho}^{+}$ decays at the running SuperKEKB experiments.

Feasibility of the experimental study of $D_{s}^{\ast}$ ${\to}$ ${\phi}{\pi}$ decay

The current knowledge on the $D_{s}^{\ast}$ meson are very limited. Besides the dominant electromagnetic decays, the $D_{s}^{\ast}$ weak decays are legal and offer the valuable opportunities to explore the wanted $D_{s}^{\ast}$ meson. In this paper, the $D_{s}^{\ast}$ ${\to}$ ${\phi}{\pi}$ decay was studied with the factorization approach. It is found that the branching ratio ${\cal B}(D_{s}^{\ast}{\to}{\phi}{\pi})$ ${\sim}$ ${\cal O}(10^{-7})$, which corresponds to several thousands of events at the $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider experiments including STCF, SuperKEKB, CEPC and FCC-ee, and several millions of events at the hadron collider experiments, such as LHCb@HL-LHC. It is feasible to experimentally study the $D_{s}^{\ast}$ ${\to}$ ${\phi}{\pi}$ weak decay in the future, even considering the identification efficiency.

Reinvestigating the $B$ ${\to}$ $PV$ decays by including the contributions from ${\phi}_{B2}$ with the perturbative QCD approach

Considering the $B$ mesonic wave function ${\phi}_{B2}$, the $B$ ${\to}$ $PV$ decays are restudied at the leading order for three scenarios using the perturbative QCD approach within the standard model, where $P$ $=$ ${\pi}$ and $K$, and $V$ denotes the ground $SU(3)$ vector mesons. It is found that contributions from ${\phi}_{B2}$ can enhance most branching ratios, and are helpful for improving the overall consistency of branching ratios between the updated calculations and available data, although there are still several discrepancies between the experimental and theoretical results.

Purely leptonic decays of the ground charged vector mesons

The study of the purely leptonic decays of the ground charged vector mesons is very interesting and significant in determining the CKM matrix elements, obtaining the decay constant of vector mesons, examining the lepton flavor universality, and searching for new physics beyond the standard model. These purely leptonic decays of the ground charged vector mesons are induced by the weak interactions within the standard model, and usually have very small branching ratios, ${\cal B}({\rho}^{-}{\to}{\ell}^{-}{\nu}_{\ell})$ ${\sim}$ ${\cal O}(10^{-13})$, ${\cal B}(K^{{\ast}-}{\to}{\ell}^{-}{\nu}_{\ell})$ ${\sim}$ ${\cal O}(10^{-13})$, ${\cal B}(D_{d}^{{\ast}-}{\to}{\ell}^{-}{\nu}_{\ell})$ ${\sim}$ ${\cal O}(10^{-10})$, ${\cal B}(B_{u}^{{\ast}-}{\to}{\ell}^{-}{\nu}_{\ell})$ ${\sim}$ ${\cal O}(10^{-10})$, ${\cal B}(D_{s}^{{\ast}-}{\to}{\ell}^{-}{\nu}_{\ell})$ ${\sim}$ ${\cal O}(10^{-6})$ and ${\cal B}(B_{c}^{{\ast}-}{\to}{\ell}^{-}{\nu}_{\ell})$ ${\sim}$ ${\cal O}(10^{-6})$. Inspired by the potential prospects of LHCb, Belle-II, STCF, CEPC and FCC-ee experiments, we discussed the probabilities of experimental investigation on these purely leptonic decays. It is found that the measurements of these decays might be possible and feasible with the improvement of data statistics, analytical technique, and measurement precision in the future. (1) With the hadron-hadron collisions, the purely leptonic decays of ${\rho}^{-}$, $K^{{\ast}-}$, $D_{d,s}^{{\ast}-}$ and $B_{u,c}^{{\ast}-}$ mesons might be accessible at LHC experiments. (2) With the $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions, the purely leptonic decays of $D_{d,s}^{{\ast}-}$ and $B_{u,c}^{{\ast}-}$ mesons might be measurable with over $10^{12}$ $Z^{0}$ bosons available at CEPC and FCC-ee experiments. In addition, the $D_{d,s}^{{\ast}-}$ ${\to}$ ${\ell}^{-}{\nu}_{\ell}$ decays could also be studied at Belle-II and SCTF experiments.
